Thats a testament to just how durable the old rusty is. Those Traxxas models like the rusty/stampede/bandit got millions of people hooked! I probably have over 20 Traxxas rcs, and I still enjoy beating them, they just keep going!
So glad to see the rustler Also I have an ftx vantage and the cobra at 9:53 is definitely similar. Only differences I can see are wheels, spoiler and electronics. Be amazing if you would review one Keep up the good work
Arjun Khakh I have a rustler it’s stock except for a new battery. It has the titan 12 in it and it can do a wheelie. with the normal battery it would not wheelie. I want to upgrade my rustler a lot so it can go fast like his.
I have an ftx colt and with a motor upgrade and a conversion from NiMH to lipo it is an absolute racer buggy.i have won many races with it and had no problem exept for a spur change a suspention rebuild and an upright change.ftx and arrma are the best companies for me
Hey Kev, few tips on upgrades for that Rustler. First, the RPM camber links are extremely flexible, almost too flexible. You might want to start with stock Traxxas camber links and see how those work first. Also you might want to get the STRC hinge pin set for the Rustler. The STRC hinge pins are pretty much impossible to bend, and they are captured by a nut so you don't have to worry about screw pins backing out or eclips getting lost. Well worth the extra $20 imo.
Here's a idea try upgrading to a point where it's still fast but not to a point where it is undrivable. It's way nicer when you can go full throttle and the r/c doesn't turn into a bowlingball.
Taking a 2WD Traxxas Rustler to the skate park, is like taking a Geo Metro to a drag race. I agree with you on 2WD's being harder to drive. Great video!!
A little tip Kev. Ditch the front hinge pins and put on the pins that screw on (like the rear ones). Saves a lot of headache when you need to replace an arm or anything that entails taking a front arm off.
2wd slash is alot more forgiving in the handling department. If you wanna get your 2wd skills up grab a cheap 2wd slash. The longer wheel base really helps keep traction on the front end
I've been using Zop power Lipo's on my cars and EDF jets... they really are a great battery. Punch out big amps and they're rather cheap too!! Poor rustler... At least we got to see JOEIIIII!!!
That thing looks like it has super hero cape on it when it flies through the air with the body loose. Lol I’ve got a ton of Traxxas and are a and wltoys. I still really like my rustler. I’ve slammed mine and put 1/8 scale buggy wheels and castle sidewinder 4 on it. Thing screams on 3s. 76 mph pb on 3s. A ton of fun lol. Good vid kev.
I have watched so many of your video's over the past few months and they are both educational and entertaining. This is one of my favorites because for some reason it just made me laugh my guts out. You effortlessly took a car that was badly damaged and keep it going. Your hobbled 2wd rc was extremely fun to watch as it attempted to hit the hill of death. 🤣
Hey, kev i saw in your last video you took out the jlb cheetah Do you know when the jlb gets an upload or if it ever will I own one myself and absolutle kove it but im scared to break it at a skatepark idd love to see a reply Keep up the amazing work, love your vids bruh
I know this is an old comment but in the rc hobby if somthing doesn’t break your not having fun I recommend searching up what the weak parts are and buying those as replacements
Rpm caster blocks just lead to bent king pins go with aluminum for those. STRC and Hot Racing make lock nut secured pin sets also no more e-clips and no more stock pins backing out.
I only run my Rustler on 2s. As you pointed out, it becomes unstable above 2s. I don’t think your issue is lack of skill, it’s that too much power is being run through a vehicle that is super light weight and wants to do nothing but wheelies. Sure, 2s might be slower, but I feel it is more fun that way. Save the high power LiPo batteries for the 4WD vehicles.
Yeah 3s is bonkers on the 2wd rustlers lots of fun though if you put weights over the front so it doesn't wanna just flip over anytime you go above 1/3 throttle
What are some good tires to use on my upgraded brushless 4400 kv redcat racing blackout sc? Going for good grip All terrain. And maybe a set for speed runs on the street. Lemme knw. Thanks kev
If u wanted to you could get a 4 or 5 inch wheelie bar to put on it and you might be able to keep it from flipping so much and to control the wheelies. Just an idea to help.
8:35 once again to help the problen with the wheelie bay unless you already tried this use a zip tie instead of the normal connection thing that traxxas does.
Mate and I have old vxl rustler's and they've copped a absolute hiding. We upgraded parts as they broke. Also best thing was putting a set of proline badlands off next size up rc and they've solved heaps of problems aswell as taking away the harsh noise they make when landing or crashing, aswell as crazy top speeds on anything. They almost just look like wheels. Shells had to be trimmed for wheel clearance and reinforced on inside with layer of foam and heaps of tape aswell as holding bodies on with tape layers around roof and bottom. When tumbling/crashing they sound like a rubber ball bouncing. Avagud1

*puts 4s lipo with a bruhsless system in 2wd car*
"oh no,it requires lots of skill to drive 2wd"
velineon only can handle 3s and yeah it does require more than just smashing the throttle.
Ive driven 4s on my rustler but damn its insane
@@tirefire-vy8tf if you're referring to me, I've ran 4s before and will soon put it on my channel so stay tuned for that
Mm
Is it just me or he just prefers to break things?
I have realized why I love these two in videos together the most. They are the real life Pinky and The Brain.
Me when I break an rc car: oh no I better stop and go fix it
Kev: Alright it’s getting it now (proceeds to completely kill)
Finally the rustler haven’t watched yet looks great just painted a raptor Body for mine
Lucky mines broken but I have a erevo I'm working on then planning to toss the rustler its been a year since its been running.
@Lockdown spinning if he doesn't fix this its not worth it
I like wet "things" ramps aren't one of them.

Negative comments are jealous people keep going kev alot of us are enjoying these videos!
Traxxas Tested Talbot Tough. It's amazing how you could just snap a few things together and keep it running after multiple crashes!
Loving the videos!

When the tyres expand it gives me anxiety, not sure why
I think it gives all of us anxiety...
Because they are about to explode maybe?? lol
Absolutely love the 2wd rustler. Wish Traxxas offered 2wd options for their higher tiered models!

Awesome air time dude at 2:29 funny how when you'rer car is catching air time the body flapping like its a cappe cool.

That rustler's kinda like the Energizer bunny awesome vid as always
There isn't an energiser bunny
your a great youtuber screw the haters. those haters are just jealous that you have a ton more rc cars than you.

every time I watch your vids they make me smile :) keep up the great work!!!
Oh god... This reminds me of the time when the whole chassis of my HPI Firestorm split in half because of a harsh landing.
It reminds me of the time my rustler 4x4 vxl front wishbone snapped in half... and mine was stock!
I love our 2wd Rustler! So much fun to drive and with bald stock tires it becomes a monster in a trials course!
Il explose tout ! Kevin 😂

What’s the point of that. Send it to the moon!!
Sounds boring.
My biggest concern would be the lipo. Just charge up a lipo then spend 20 mins throwing it against a brick wall really hard.
Yeah I wonder how many lipos he has had catch fire. I wouldn't bring those things anywhere near my house lol

Yip, the good old Rusty is mad on 3s 2wd. Been my best lasting rc after upgrades.
Kev looks like the man from the milk tray adverts in that black jumper and wooly hat

Another great vid Kev. I cant believe how strong these RC cars are, especially the big ones,
You should get skis and paddle tires for the rustler!

Classic British weather
It doesnt matter if you're not a 2wd fan. Get the rustler out again man 🤙
When I had my rustler I put the stock slash 4x4 axles on it and they never broke
4:58 I’ve done that so many times by clipping my tire on something and it just rips it off
Why us the rustlers tires get big when you put on throttle?
There’s so much force being applied to the wheels that the rubber gets stretched by gravity itself
Your going to give my Traxxas 2x4 Stampede the nightmares of it's life!
I like the rain, it keeps the zombies from roaming around the skate parks.
Always extreme job! Cool

Wow,bravo👍🏼
Is that a vxl or did you swap the motor and esc?
We need a crash compilation of cars hitting the box
Hey Kevin I have a important question why do the wheels of you car get taller when you do burnouts did any body notice that to
The centrifugal force from spinning makes the rubber tire deform and stretch, called "ballooning". Pretty cool to watch 👍
I have a cobra Violence truck as well Kev I put his Sidewinder 3 and end with A550 hobby star motors 3500kv on 5000mah 50c.
