Thankyou Nitsa! You have given me the answers in many of your videos. I struggled for months to figure out how I could create a certain look for art pieces, but it wasn't until now that I have figured it out. Visual art making is not my preferred choice of expression, but I'm really considering creating art again for important reasons. Gel printing and photo transfers seem right up my process alley! These processes seem awesomely fun!
@@NitsaCreativeStudio I just found you when your name came up on my IG as "suggested". I clicked on it because you have the same name as my Mom. This was like an inspiration sent from her (she's been gone many years). OMG, I just love your work and your wonderful videos. Thank you soooooo much! I've been printing with weeds from my garden and was thinking about somehow combining my photos and you opened up a huge new avenue to pursue. I'm ordering a laser printer today 😉.
I actually had a little trouble using the homemade gel plate transferring images, especially magazine ones and gave in and bought a Gelli. Before giving up try a Gelli.
love this. Thank you. looks like our lazer printer should work just fine if we print out our photo's in black and white, right? Also no mirror printing for text?
Nitsa, do you get as good a result for this technique using a homemade gel plate? I only have homemade ones and this never works for me. I am using zerox toner copies.
Does this technique only work with gel plates because I have tried it on a table and idk if that is why I didn't work or if I need some different type of paper
Hi Nitsa, I bought a laser printer to do the amazing transfers you do but I cannot make it work. The images won't transfer on to the gelli plate. Maybe it's the acrylic? It's Dina Wakley's acrylic paint. The other tools are the ones you have. Or maybe it's the way I set up the printing? I would be really grateful if you could help me because I would love to do the things you do. I admire your work! Take care, Carolina
@@NitsaCreativeStudio Hello! I just bought photo paper this morning and really hope that was the issue! :) Thanks for getting back to me. Will check the video now. Love, Carolina
@@NitsaCreativeStudio Happy news! The photo paper AND a different brand of acrylic paint made it work in the end. Definitely it's a process of hit and miss :) Thanks for your beautiful art
I have a laser printer that uses a toner and this doesn't work for me. I've tried various thicknesses of the acrylic I brayer onto the gelli plate, as well as varying times of waiting before pulling the photo on plain printer paper off. No matter what, there is no image left on the plate. Guess I'll have to try another method.
Its difficult to say what's the issue without seeing all the steps in your process. Try to change things around until you get it to work. you can do it! 💪🏻
Laser printers set the toner with heat, you can’t make it fugitive again without completely destroying the paper. Ink jets are a whole different animal.
I tried this method and it did not work for me. I used print outs from a laser printer, although it was several hours since they had been printed. Do you have to use freshly printed images?
Not at all, you can use last year's print outs and they will work just fine! Try this video for better photo transfers: ruclips.net/video/Kmd_Il7VUOs/видео.html
Hey! The paint on the plate dries unevenly. Part of the photo is not printed. In some places large spots remain, in others there is no image at all. What am I doing wrong? Photo printed on a laser printer.
Hi, It's hard to tell without seeing all the steps in your process. But try changing things around in your process. Sometimes it can be something simple like too much or too little paint 😃 Good luck!! 👍
Hi thanks for thé vidéo... I made exactly what you show but thé Paint from thé plate goes to thé papier completly nothing is peintes on thé gelli plate??😳😳😳

I love your process, although when I applied acrylic paint to the gel plate as described and tried to brayer my Xerox photo copy ( I used a copy machine) on the plate it did not transfer the image onto the plate . The image pulled up all the paint from the gel plate, leaving me with a Xerox copy full of black/brown paint and no image was left on the plate. I also tried this with an ink jet copy and the same thing happened. Any suggestions please.
thank you! 😊 First thing is to use the right paint. I tried different brands, some of them didn't work at all, and Amsterdam worked the best for me. Then it is also important to use the right amount of paint, and this takes a little trial and error.
@@NitsaCreativeStudio Same issue here using 20# printer paper, laser printer and Amsterdam paints. I've done regular printmaking before so I know how to apply the layer of paint to the correct "thinness". Still, no image transfer onto the plate.
I have tried this over and over and it never works. I can never get my images that I have printed with a laser printer to imprint on the gel plate. I've used copy paper, glossy paper, more paint, less paint etc and it never works. I can get it to work with magazines though. Anyone know why it won't work?

So nice to see actual images being made and not just random layer after layer, really nice work too. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you soooooo much! ❤️🤗
I just started gel plate printing and have thousands of photos from over the past 30 years. Thank you for the tutorial of how to combine the two.
Sounds good! Good luck 👍
I have thousands and thousands of photos too that I've been thinking about combining with my gelprinting. I've found my answer!

Yes any laser is good and you're correct about printing it straight and not mirrored 👍
Thank you Nitza, that was helpful.

You make it look so easy, Nitsa. Can you provide a link where you purchased the stencils, please? Thank you.

So the image should be printed on Laser printer, or ink-jet printer will do?
The image needs to be printed with a laser print or a toner based photocopy
Very beautiful ❤️
Many many thanks 💜

👋 hi What kind of prints are these ? Laser or inkjet ? Or does it really not make a difference?
This particular process only works with laser or toner based photocopies 👍
Can you use this technique with a glass plate or plexiglass please?
I'm pretty sure you could but I don't think you'll get the same effect. Anyway, it should be fun to experiment 👍
inspiring! thanks for sharing!
Thank you ❤️

What kind of paper did you use for printing?
I print on a standard copy/printer paper 👍
What material is the brayer roller- foam or rubber please?
I use soft rubber brayer. Check out below the video, there are links to all the supplies I'm using including the brayer (speedball)

Absolutely Does NOT work with laser prints. It has to be inkjet ONLY.
