Nista! Your simplicity in instructions is so appreciated. For at least a month, while I've been waiting on my glycerine shipment, I've been struggling to find instructions that made sense to me. Today, after a failed gelli plate making event...I searched again and there you were! Your manner, style and artwork are a breath of fresh air. Thank you for sharing what you do. Finally I can create on a gelli plate! Thank you.
I had no idea you could make your gel plates! Thank you so much for the tutorial. And I love your Art Journal pages - they are beautiful and so creative!
Thank you. I really enjoyed this video. I like the way you are straight to the point with no unnecessary chatter. His is the easiest demo for making a gell plate. Others have made it look so complicated I've subscribed and will certainly watch more. Thanks again.
I think my home made agar agar gelli plate has an edge over the commercial ones. You got a nice result with your plate. My plate has survived being out of fridge in warm conditions for at least a year though I confess to not having used it for some time.
Thank you Chris 🥰 I agree and also love the results I get from my homemade plates, they are more grungy looking. Same here, I've never kept my homemade gel plates in the fridge. I store them in a box in a room temperature, and they are just fine!
I bought a gelli plate quite a while ago so I don’t need one at the moment, but if I ever want a second one I will definitely try yours out! Thanks for the tutorials!
I have been searching for homemade gel.plate recipe..n this one is so.practical n easy n the best part is that you have taught the method to use it !Before which,I had almost no idea of a gel.plate nor how its used.Thank you!!
This was such a great tutorial video, wow the instruction was so easy to follow & the results from the technique amazing ! The gelli plate making demo again seemed so straightforward & the two options brilliant, before in videos I have watched the process seemed somehow more complicated. Thank you for sharing & teaching us about this!
What type of paper is your journal? How are you getting the pages to dry flat? Amazing work! Thank you for the inspiration. So mad at myself, I JUST got rid of a brayer I’ve had sitting here for more than 50 years doing nothing in a drawer.
Hi Nitsa. It’s Avram from Karmiel, here. I hope you are doing well and able to stay dry in LA with all that rain you folks have received. A question: my wife does a lot of furniture art along with other mixed media art projects. She is going to make her own gelli plate’s based on the instructions in this video to use along with stamping and stenciling. What is the best way to store them? What containers should be used and any other pertinent details would be appreciated. Many thanks and stay dry.
Hi Avram, thank you! I store my homemade gel plates in a wooden box ( I suppose a plastic container should be okay as well) with printer papers separating in between the plates. Please stay safe 🇮🇱 and hopefully we will have a better year 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing. It is expensive to buy one so will definitely try one. May I ask you for how long it will last, please? How can I store it so it doesn't get damaged, please? Do you clean it with baby wipes?
I absolutely love this and wish I could get it to work. I printed on my printer, applied acrylic paint and then image. I have not been able to get a print on my plate. So sad because this is awesome.
Beautiful work? Thank you! How do you get the printer to print the pictures out so dark ? What printer do you have? And what kind of brayer do you use? soft rubber?
Amazing info. One question. So if I would like to make a bigger gel plate, like a4, then will that be double everything, like 4 spoons of agar agar, 1 cup glycerin and 2 cups of water and boil them together for 3-4 minutes? Thank you.
Hi Nitsa, I tried using a laser printer to transfer one of my photos to my gel plate and it didn't work. Can you give any suggestions why the laser prints aren't working?

I am SO stoked! I was about to give up after about 25 tries. No good. Then i changed acrylics, used Amsterdam and voila, super success immediately!
What a fantastic tutorial - thank you Nista

Love the edge that home made gelatine plate makes. I want to try to make my own small plate when I have found a mould for it
I think I like them better than commercial plates 😀

Excellent tutorial. You had me wowing in my seat. Thank you for the inspiration
So glad to hear! Thank you Bobbie 🌼🧡🤗
This is really nice. I particularly like the plate texture on the number image. It’s not so much a journal as a 1/1 artist’s book 😊Thanks!
I bought a gelli plate quite a while ago so I don’t need one at the moment, but if I ever want a second one I will definitely try yours out! Thanks for the tutorials!
The best, no nonsense video. You are a wonderful teacher

Thanks for adding the vegan option for making the gel plate. What kind of material does the mold need to be? That last print was gorgeous!
The mold can be hard plastic, glass, aluminum etc, probably anything that can hold hot liquid. Thank you 🥰

🌹🤗
thanks Nitsa!
You're welcome!! 🌹
Do you think it works any differently if it’s a homemade plate or a bought one... love the last print 👍🏻👩🏻🎨
Yes they work somewhat differently. The homemade images come out more rough and vintage looking, which I like 😀
Love it but I want to ask.... you put the plate in the microwave or no ?!
Wow , thank you for sharring
Thanks for visiting 🥰
Fabulous!!!! New Subscriber!!!
This is a great technique but I’m wondering if it only works with a laser printer?
Very cool and thank you for the vegan 🌱 version!
Glad you like it! thank you Lillian 💛
Hi Nitsa, I tried using a laser printer to transfer one of my photos to my gel plate and it didn't work. Can you give any suggestions why the laser prints aren't working?
