I like to think I'm far from stupid, but I have absolutely no problem admitting that Veronica Mars is, and always will be, far smarter than I could ever hope to be. Kudos to you, Veronica. For what it's worth, your dad was just doing his job. It's the guy's own fault for embezzling. You have nothing to be ashamed of. He was charged with a crime and there were probably hefty legal fees, and then him being in prison left them with no money to pay on the house and cars, or they took them to pay for the other bills. rich people think in terms of families. it's a linage thing or whatever....i don't really get it, but when we married into the middle class out of poverty, i was acceptable enough for middle/upper class girls to think bringing me home to family dinner was some rebellious slant against their parents. anyway....it's not HER fault the rich embezzler dad is now on my level...it's her families fault. the entire Mars line must pay for ruining their lives....or whatever.
If the writing for "Veronica Mars" had any shortcomings it's the fact that there's rarely a comeuppance scene, or in the rare case there is one it's not very satisfying. Case in point: in another episode (won't say which one so as not to spoil it), Person A makes life miserable for Person B throughout the show, calling Person B a thief and 'trash' (among other things) When it turns out Person A was actually the one responsible for what Person B was accused of doing, all we get is "(Person A), let's step into my office." Really? That's it? O_o
the plot is that these rich kids like to use Veronica as a scapegoat for every shitty thing they do lol, all because her dad was disgraced as the sherif. I'm exaggerating, but it's definitely a sizable part of the show
You forget he laughed at Veronica when she tried to report her rape? She was literally crying in his office and he was a total asshole. Or the fact he knew the Mannings were abusers and still made it his goal to get Meg's baby back to those people so they could continue the abuse.

Then dismisssd Parker’s claims because she was drunk/drugged and didn’t remember all of it. I could never forgive him for that or his little catchphrase “Go and ask the Wizard…” when he was feeling particularly petty.
