  • This is by popular demand - a look round Samsara and her idiosyncracies. But I forgot to mention the twings - you can find out all about them at www.oldmansailing.com/twings

When you out of cellphone range you get the weather you get.
    Wise man words 😊

I find it also happens when in cellphone range as well. Being within cellphone range appears to make no difference on the weather at all. 🙂

Well what a pleasant surprise. RUclips has finally recommended a sailing channel rather than a lifestyle sailing couple!

I owned Blue Velvet, a Twister for 10 years. Now upgraded to a Rustler 36, but still miss the Twister.

I’m currently reading your book about sailing during the lockdown. Since the book mentions RUclips, I figured I should find a video about your boat so I could get an idea of what I’m reading about. I enjoy your pragmatic thought process. You’ve made this complicated a bit more simple for yourself.

Thank you John. It’s always SO interesting and informative to see other peoples boats, and see how things and approaches are different/similar to mine. (Mostly reassuringly similar…but I DO wear a harness and tether on deck in rough weather)

Two comments: 1) safety harnesses - why on earth use a 2 meter strop? I use jackstays as follows: cockpit p and s; cockpit to mast p and s: singlemast to foredeck. Each of the jackstays have a strop permanently attached, of a length which allows me to move but short enough that there is no way I can go overboard. Also, the jackstays are loose, NOT tight. A drum-tight jackstay will put an enormous strain on its attachment points. 2) Lying on the cockpit floor is what looks like the paddle from a Windpilot. Plans to replace the Aries? I’ve used both and find the Windpilot lighter and easier to trim.

Great one! I enjoyed the tour. I also ordered and have been taking the minerals and I let you know if I start to notice a difference. It's only been about a month. I gave you 5 stars on audible , I did enjoy the book and I'm looking forward to the next one.

My cape dory 30c is similar. I need to do some changes to create more storage lockers.

A 12 volt chest freezer is very inexpensive, these days. I'd yank out any troublesome water tanks and replace them with p.e.t. used soda bottles and have very clean water and no leaks. The batteries need an isolation switch.

Great video. I’m currently knee-deep on your audiobook. Brilliant writing and fantastic narration.
I’m wondering about your hydro generator. How well does it work? Are you happy with it? Would you buy another one? I feel like these things are underutilized, especially in DDW tradewind crossings when wind generators lose efficiency.
