Walking around the house carrying phone in one hand and metal detector in other. Bundled up in turtle neck and sweats, frost on windows and it's near zero out there! So glad to see you both enjoying the sun and sand! Great finds so far!!!

I was going to ask how much in a hurry I should be to upgrade from my vanquisher 540 but, christine makes me think I can wait going by her finds.
Yeah.... that is a tough call....She does a good job with the 540.... gives you time to really decide what you want to upgrade to...
I was thinking the equinox 800 but it's really only if I can get my wife hooked then I will give her the 540

Don't feel too bad about finding the cross, I was told years ago when you go to the beach not to wear your good rings and jewelry because you might lose them. Be careful Bill, Christine is going to find the gold and diamond ring that is waiting for you. Christine, remember you have to dig a lot of trash to get the good stuff. Congrats, Christine, on a beautiful gold crucifix! 👍🏼. Your find reminded me of my best crucifix find some years ago at a park in Pasadena. It was staring at me on top of a gopher dirt mound before I swung my detector over it lol.....Hint: never pass up a gopher mound at any park...I have found so many coins (silver and wheaties too)/artifacts (and junk) from the dug up gopher dirt. Gophers are a treasure hunter’s friend!!

Hi you two, Great to see you out hunting again. That Gold cross has got to be worth at least 3 cupcakes hehe. Did my 1st tot lot this morning found 79 pence in change "sterling" as i'm in the UK. Found the usually suspects bottle tops, ring pulls, screws nails and bits of wire. Only out for 2 Hrs. Still looking for my 1st ring of the year :(

Certainly a plethora of rusty trash finds, barking dogs and screaming children. The only solace is the for all that hard work is the gold cross find and the kidding each other exchanges. Fun and productive!

A tourist was feeding seagulls here the other day and I thought all the locals were going to hang the poor guy. We purposely don't feed our seagulls so that they don't get aggressive and bother people with food. When I lived in CA, gulls attacked me while carrying a tray of food at Sea World and knocked all the food onto the ground. 😞 My poor hungry little boys just watched from the picnic table. Thankfully, the vendor saw what happened and replaced all the food. MAN, those gulls hit that tray like bombs falling out of the sky.
Dude.. I have seen them steal right out of peoples hands... yes, very aggressive... like me walking by Christine with a cupcake in my hand....she would swoop past and it is history...lol

We pretty much leave it in jewelry mode regardless of where we detect.... seems to do best for us.

Thanks.... we don't really use it in the wet. It has done ok but I don't think with would work well in the surf. Has not been an issue because C really likes working the dry. We should do a test run in the surf with it just to try.
I am surprise there are no hypodermic needle. That's just too much work, you guys should go to the train tracks for 'Free' packages from cargo trains or just go to any stores for grab and go.
