I can't say enough about these Orvis Fly Fishing videos. Very well presented with friendly guidance in what can be a very complex sport. I always learn everything I was hoping for and much more when querying a specific aspect of fly fishing.

I fish mostly tailwaters where a double nymph under an indicator rig and dry droppers are the rule. Great video, especially the casting piece from Pete. I mostly just water load cast with a tuck at the end but the "end just below eye level" reminder is a really good one.

The dry dropper with a flashy fly and a natural fly is my favorite way to fiah the smokies or when I'm just searching for fish

will the yarn indicator look like a dry fly and cause rising fish to bite it?

Hi really one of the best Videos on this topic so far but what rod weight are you using on this kind of flyfishing and is my 5wt enough?

Experiment ~ Tom have you ever tried. Kelly Gallop drop shot leader? I run the split shot about 8to 10” below the bottom fly. Find this very effective especially in faster moving water.

hello I'm new in the fly sport.. so I've been training to do a back cast... after a good 30min - 40min.. my shoulder felt a little tight.. so my question is how do I reduce the tension on my shoulder?

Could you do a video on identifying and avoiding redds? It seems like a topic that bears more discussion in the "how-to" realm.

I use white airlock then take a bright Orange felt tip and just make a round spot on the top of the indicator. The fish sees white you see bright.

Great video and very insightful. What we like to do in the south is use a piece of styrofoam we find on the river bank to use an indicator. Simple but effective and earth friendly. Thanks for what y’all do.

So a dry fly and dropper is pretty much dry fly and nymph? Gosh these guys are out of my league but I love learning

I take those pinch indicators, place them in the center of my sighter. I place a drop or 2 of crazy glue on them before I pinch them down.

how did he not talk about loon outdoors biostrike? besides yarn there is no reason to use another indicator. Also please stop using plastic and foam indicators, there is enough trash in our waters

As an irish fly fisherman I will always stay loyal to the noble art of fly fishing and never ever use indicators. That’s float fishing, unsporting as the fish have no chance

Ok there you go, Tom. Step in the right direction, moving back to what you're good at- interviewing people who know what they're doing. Hopefully we'll start to see more vids with the focus on guys like Pete, and much, much less of you telling us what you read or heard about. You're just great in a 2 min short, but if you're going to keep putting out these hour-long vids, you need to reduce your personal footprint.
