The original aspects, mechanics, and the environment of a combine power plant honestly fit really well, it was really entertaining to watch, especially the meltdown and the idea of pausing time in the end We're very happy that you enjoyed our game and that it inspired you to make this really cool map!
I adore it when machines melt down in overly dramatic fashion, something about how it just keeps getting worse and worse and worse as it tries to save itself is just so cool. This is a PERFECT example of that!!
9:30 heard this alarm in a Meltdown alarm video... Think it was AEGIS Meltdown alarm or smth... It started with sound of shutdown, and then a voice said "Emergency power activate"... But i cannot find the video anymore 😭... Still, this looks awesome

wouldve been pretty cool if there was a version of the map for when you destabilize the core it disables noclip (and prevents it from being activated entirely) unless you safe the core or just admin cleanup the map
A very cool map, its possibilities are amazing. Can I find out more about lore? Did humanity voluntarily join Universal Union, or did only Black Mesa agree to cooperate? What kind of planet is it? Is she in our galaxy? The universe? Why did Combine entrust people to work with the reactor?
According to the built in lore I made for this map in workshop description. it should goes like this. D.E.C. (Dark Energy Construct) is a massive *city* established on another planet far away from earth by the surviving human civilization possibly hundreds of years after the event of HL2:EP2. They learned how to conceal themselves from the combine and did a lot of reverse engineering and even actively stealing combine technologies. It went so far to the point that they managed to stole the complete schematic of an entire citadel and the several dark energy techs. Which leads to the impressive power generation of DEC even without the reactor. Black Mesa is resurrected and they do all the research about this. Then finally they got a breakthrough, which is the Dark Fusion Reactor that is used for power generation instead of opening an inter-universal portal (Like the one on top of the original Combine Citadel). DEC created the citadel using the schematic they stole and improved for human inhabitation, then constructed the prototype AC-DFR (Annihilation-Catalyzed Dark Fusion Reactor) inside it. Powered by Antimatter and Dark Fusion Fuel (The new type of exotic matter fuel they developed). They are still the absolute enemy of the combine. The place they choose to establish D.E.C. settlement is on another "fractured" planet around the edge of another galaxy, reachable through inter-universal travel. The planet is already inhibited by yet another civilization living on a single continent. What they did is to use the same concealment technology to hide themselves, establishing on an empty continent completely separated from the inhibited one, so that they can't easily be found. As for why it has to be this specific planet, it's because it doesn't appear in star chart or whatever that is used to map the stars. Furthermore, cannot be detected by current Combine signal technology for a reason yet unknown. (Again, they even stole one of their functioning technology.) As for why the humans doesn't want to create DEC on earth is that they are concerned that the DEC might fail and trigger another portal storm, leading to being rediscovered and getting destroyed by the Combine again. Again, this is the "Built-in lore" for this map made up by it's creator. You might have another interpretation for it if you'd like or you might just stick to it. what's important is getting yourself immersed in it in some way or another. (If you like lore and backstory of a map) (Btw, according to my lore, this map can have connection in the timeline with my other map gm_shattered_hyperstructure. gm_darkfusion(Dark Fusion Reactor) takes place before gm_shattered_hyperstructure(Matrioshka Brain).)
for comparison, the TSAR thermo-nuclear bomb would have porduced about 240 Pettawatts/s of power (if we were able to harness all of its energy) before exploding i think the dark fusion reactor managed to reach 460 Terrawatts/s of power not sure tho couldnt see it clearly
alright i must ask, you wouldnt happen to have been inspired by Roblox core games, have you? either way i absolutely love this map, its truly impressive that something like this could we made with hammer
This is INDEED inspired by Quantum Science Energy Research Facility on Roblox. You can immediately see the similarities in the map layout at the first glance. But that is as far it it can become, the map reached the upper limit of vertexes.

Ypu can do dark fusion in a mason jar jn the park, it counts as a star in a jar if one knows reality and not dogmatic physics as in the gnostic and other original faiths ;3 Coolest map since underground_bunker IV and that one james bond underground map and some other honorables from my personal endeavors
"Global NPC Group Spawner (Mapwide Auto Spawner)" by Zippy Its a good addon for spawning NPCs everywhere in the map to cause chaos without that much lags.
