Back in Vanilla the player was just a random dude or dudette who sometimes did heroic stuff. For the most part though, we were collecting bear asses and getting stomped if we attracted too much attention from enemies. It made sense for us to have to walk or ride everywhere. Now in retail, we're epic heroes who have saved the world and the whole universe several times over. Doing any kind of work is just beneath the player. It's such a massive shift in narration and atmosphere. I'm looking forward to this refresh because I just want to be a regular guy doing regular guy things in a world I am just a tiny part of. For me, that's the magic that WoW lost over the years.
the fun is where ever you make it. some people don't enjoy leveling some people do. the journey is whatever you want it to be. some people Enjoy 1-60 some people enjoy raiding and pvp. not a one shoe fits all type of thing/
@@Super_Burrito I don't totally agree with you, and it's because of the type of game. Of course there are people who like pvp and raiding (myself included), but World of Warcraft was designed to last two years, and the endgame was a great addition, but not the main part of the game. If you look at other types of games like Call of Duty, for example, the matches (pvp) are the main part of the game, and level progress is an addition. In retail they wanted to do the opposite of classic and make the endgame the main part of the game, and increasingly so. They wanted to make the game easier and easier because now it seems like a race to see who can equip and make all the content first. The game did not have any difficulty problems, because before it was not a competition, people played to entertain themselves and have fun, and everyone went at their own pace, there was no rush.
@ the “rush” you’re talking about is artificial, if you don’t want to rush then don’t people aren’t forcing you to. There’s guilds out there for every playstyle in this game you all just claim to want casual but never join anything casual.
This was beautiful, sad, and hopeful. Here’s to all the players who play like this, who talk in /say, who explore every corner of the map; who make the world feel alive.
My buddies and I are swapping factions and playing new classes for this release. We've played the eastern kingdoms starting zones as our mains a few too many times so I'm exited to try out my tauren warrior this time around
I was like 18-19 when vanilla came out, single but with a job. Cleared everything up to half of naxx back in the day. Cleared everyting in classic 2019. Never speedleveled in a dungeon. Leveled a total of 12 druids to 60 since 2019 and all other classes atleast once. Most two or more times. And this evening I'm chilling on a fresh shaman just enjoying some HC until next weeks fresh! Can't wait!
Back in 2019 Classic, my wife and I leveled as a prot warrior/holy paladin duo. We would just goof around, spend time seeing how much we could take on together before we died. And we loved it, all the way to 60. Then we got to 60 and it was like the world changed. We were in a guild called Married with Children, it was perfect for us. The whole idea behind the guild was it was for parents who didn't have a lot of time to play and didn't really wanna go too hard on farming, grinding, etc. But at 60, it fell apart fast. Sweaty no-life guilds started poaching everyone in the guild left and right and before long, we didn't have anyone to casually raid with. We were left to pug raids and never could because pugs are held to insane standards versus guild runs. We had to quit, and I missed out on all of the end game of classic. I was crushed and just didn't feel like starting over. We had made friends and a guild in the first week of classic and the entire community we built was destroyed. I'm almost skeptical to give this another try but I will. Please, stop sweating in this old game, it's meant for old people like me with slow reaction times and even less time to play.

all of these things were in the game back in vanilla too, they just weren't as good as they are now. also how does an AH addon give you any advantage other than being able to filter the AH how you want. sure people can use them to make money faster but the people who make full use of these addons in that way would make their gold without them anyway. all the people who sit here saying NO ADDONS are the same people who quit before hitting 60 or just into P1

When I heard about fresh I was so excited, I’m more of a casual player who prefers questing and dungeons over raiding. It’s all about the RP and leveling for me 😊
I kinda fell off the classic train back in 2019 around level 30: the friend I was going to play with took the whole experience a lot more seriously than me and had no other obligations at the time so I fell behind and it just wasn't as fun to play solo. This time around, we're both going in for just the casual adventure, making the ugliest identical gnomes to ever explore the world of Azeroth!
I’m a brand new player. I got one character to level 7 years ago, but am finally coming back to it. Almost level 30 on my first retail character and I couldn’t be happier about these fresh classic servers. I want nothing more than to be able to experience this game at my pace. So much of the retail experience from what I’ve seen is based on getting you to the end game as fast as possible, but they throw so much at you, that I don’t even know what half my abilities do. I want to be able to explore the dungeons, try the raids, and not just follow the pack of people doing it the most optimal way. Here’s hoping that can happen this Thursday. If anyone that’s still reading this wants to group up for raids and dungeons and such with a total Noob let me know. Maybe my Destiny raid experience will help. And if there’s any guilds out there that share a mindset of taking things slow, let me know. I’d be down to consider joining up
@ probably pve? That’s what I’ve always done mainly out of a fear of not being able to quest without getting killed. Not familiar with pvp servers at all
Crazy to think, 20 years ago playing wow together with classmates after school, no responsibilites. And almost 24 years ago, playing Runescape. Good old times, maybe i should log in for nostalgia aswell.
YES!!!! I started playing WoW during the second launch a few years back and I am still in the "fun of it mode' I had a lot of good teachers the first go around and I'm excited to just hit the ground running. The thought of being back in Elwynn forest with hopefully some old friends and making new friends doing Hogger, doing Dead Mines, questing in Duskwood, swimming to the Barrens lol and PVP battles in random location on the spur of the moment has me giddy. Moving to outland again flying in Shadowmoon Valley Black Temple raids!!, Nagrand, ZANGERMARSH! AND THEN....going back in a few years to my most loved xpac Northrend and every place it encompasses. It will be for me not the end game as much as the journey this time especially. I am going to enjoy every minute of it with a guild that has the same expectations (will be solidifying that early bc I find that will be very important). I might not level as many characters as the first time lol but sure there are plenty of things we will have a chance to do differently this time. Actually I have played both factions and love different things, questing locations about both so that is my conundrum but if that's the worst first world issue I have then lol I'm good!!Hope to see you all there.
Thanks for the video! I played back when the game came out. But my nephews are gonna play the classic fresh server and started wow for the first time last month. Only made it to around lvl 35. Excited to play with them on the fresh server and just enjoy.
Your comment about wow classic transporting one to a time in one's life that one looks fondly upon, really resonated with me. Way back then, I was a carefree student, full of optimism and dreams of the future, not yet bitten by reality.
:/ When classic RE release came out in 2019 I told my self I was going enjoy every step of it because I had never played classic before, only TBC-. I played as a combat DAGGER rogue, it took me FOUR days to get to level 12. I explored every corner of the early map I could, I did RFC, I probably died 500 times, It was the MOST FUN I’ve EVER had in any video game because I just enjoyed it and explored the entire world. There was players EVERYWHERE and I really didn’t care about my progress at the time because like I said, it was all brand new to all of us like you said. I got to 60 in about a month or so😂😂
This was nice :) I wanna just say that I've long subscribed to this mentality and opinion. Through Vanilla up to Battle for Azeroth, I was a solo casual player. After Shadowlands dropped, I transitioned to Classic. There I slowly levelled and I think TBC was already out, since a while back, when I got into Outland. Got to do some sweet Kara pugs. Then the Wrath Classic experience, and again I levelled slow and got some pugging done up to Naxx. But then that also felt done. So I've been playing Hardcore since the last year, and got a paladin to 60, just to chill there and never do any raids. The slow burn is worth it, if for nothing else, than that it saves the experience. I've honestly loved every second of WoW since I started in january 2006, and I hope to do it again now on fresh Classic servers. I wish you all joy there too :)
My FRESH goal is to level a hunter to 60. Then level a druid to 60. Then work on professions until TBC starts up. I'll do all this solo if I have to or in a chill guild. Either way is good.
@@Danny_79 That I don't know lol. Im thinking just mining/herbs until 40 so I can get a mount. Then LW or Eng for the hunter and herbs alc for the Druid.

Lets be realistic here. There is no fresh anymore. Blizzard is just recycling again and again instead of investing in something slightly new like SOD. Most people just gonna race to 60 or get mage boosted as usual and its gonna be the same unfortunately.

This was a really good video man! I agree I am taking it casual this time around.. I cant even believe honestly that im playing my 50 millionth fresh from private servers to classic release in 2019 lol. Theres always something special about it though.
I feel bad for anyone who hasnt lived or gamed during everquest/wow launch in 2004. No one after that generation will ever know how different and so much better gaming was when pc gaming just got popular and there wasnt any readily available or ways to guide through internet/social media. The only wow version that comes close to the 2004 experience is classic hardcore, and even then its not comparable.
Great video man really hit home for me ! Makes me wanna play again just for the feeling of what life was like with no responsibility’s and being a kid again. 10/10 video brother !
Game makers to create a journey first end game 2nd . They need to be super creative and care for the details. That means less % of revenue for the company sunning the show and thats a no no. Make it fast and put it to market even if its shit .
I hate when I can't keep up with everyone rushing through a dungeon. Killing everything before I can get there I can't look around or even find out what I'm supposed to do. I can't even think of doing a raid... No way.
i am hyped ! i will roll for the first time ever a warlock - an old grim orc - and I am going deep destro even for pve. i hope it will the season of jank, if not i will open the guild "jankyard" and form a chill enviorment to form raid, dungeon and bg groups. i kinda wish for no addons rule on classic fresh (maybe stuff like leatrix or dominos is okay, but no weak aura or dbm) - i played sod until recently with no addons and i had such a blast. I also wish that there will be some rp community content even that blizzard does not release dedicaded rp realms - I had the most fun in SoD with community rp content. It was to good to fight endless battles in ashenvale for hours to just push the enemy lines a bit back.
The idea of parsing and gate keeping has always been stupid and only done by idiots. Never been one of those and never will. Some people are kinda slow to learn, hopefully yall have learned.
how though? don't get me wrong i don't go for 99 parses and top 1% players for the guilds i run/join but play how you want to play. don't want to parse and worry about numbers join/run a guild that doesn't have that as a requirement. no one Forces you to be in these guilds.
I guess the problem isn't the tools but the way you use them. Me personally after all this years I really like parsing since I can enjoy the game "improving" or at least seeing how do I perform against other people in the world in content I've already done hundreds if not thousands of times. But I couldn't defend in any case people or guilds who gatekeep other people from doing X thing or simply from playing with them basing it on a number or by forcing them to do logs or optimize the fun out of the game. I couldn't care less about that.
I started playing 2019, love it…I think I wanna try something new and play a warrior. I agree playing something new and learning something new seems like a great time

IMO this fresh will be no different from the others. I don't believe people will take it slow and eventually the sweaty mentality will takeover once again its just in human nature unfortunately. I have recently got back into hardcore though and am quite excited for the fresh server. HC is the closest thing that replicates vanilla for me.
This is exactly my sentiment and what I hope to see going forward, but the 1 year release cycle is like so contrary to that. Maybe I'll try TBC this time.
I’ve never leveled a classic character all the way up which means I’ve never done raids, should I try again with my new guild and try and push all the way through? I’m a newish player who has been on and off wow for a year now so the journey has been rough trying to understand everything about wow
I’m hyped for a fresh run but also somewhat meh about it since it seems like no-one ever wants to run quests or dungeons that aren’t apart of some efficient meta style leveling guide. Like everytime I level a Dwarf no one wants to do mechagon and that sucks.
Great video! WoW has become more rushed to hit the max level or play whatever the metaclass is. It's going to be nice to just play and not have to worry about anything else.
Perfect timing right before the launch. needed to be reminded nobody cares if you are classic world first 😂 for me it's about the journey to 60 and the friends made along the way.
This is for those who didnt pick up the 2019 classic. And i know a lot of those people, its gonna be cool again, and im gonna reroll, again. The last remains of Blizzard.
People have been saying they are going to chill this time around for every relaunch of classic (private server or not) I’m sure a few will but the majority will get a taste of FOMO and just start poop socking
Blizzard needs to work on the next Wow. A new IP, or perhaps set in Azeroths past. Something completely fresh and new. Something HUGE, as in next level in terms of world scale. Go back to the slower paced style of MMORPG. Games like Elden Ring were so cool to experience during those first weeks of playing because everyone was experiencing the game at the same time without guides or any info whatsoever, just exploring the game and learning on your own
I agree with the sentiment they try to have players rush through a game that isn't supposed to be rushed through. It's kind of self destructive, but it's also the nature of pay to play.

100% this. Trying to find an OCE, casual Dad guild has been near impossible. Even doing searches for "casual" among guild advertisements brings up "Bad at being casual..." - "Not for casuals" etc.
Can we go back to a time when we don’t have to use terms like unalive?
For real, you'd think it was 1984.
It’s all about the journey, the endgame is a plus. Unfortunately in retail the mentality is the opposite.
@@keadinmode2070 I totally agree with you, we have gone from being adventurers to practically being as powerful as a tirisfal guardian
Fresh Hype Fresh Hype!
find out if fresh will get a permanent tbc era server, asap. please ;)
i got my $ ready for that first week gold purchase.
@@itchin4scratches we will most likely get TBC Era.
@@MB-wq8cpeven if you were going to buy gold, why would you do it the first week, when it's just going to be inflated in another week or 2 and be worth nothing lol.
Hey Solheim i remember meeting you in Arathi in 2019 while leveling. I hope i see you again next week. 😅
Gonna roll a holy paladin, enjoy a casual slow-paced leveling experience ^_^
if i would just wrote "well said" it would not be enough.
it was fantastic
thank you man
Glad you enjoyed it! This one took a while haha
What rly would be awesome...
No addons allowed.
No weak auras or auction addons and so ON.
No Quest helpers, nothing...
Only pure Vanilla start flavor...
Swap Quests arround, so noone knows where to Go...
Ready questlogs, ASK ingame...enjoy the Game...leveling...slow down the Speed of chasing those min max records...
Just game
u know that addons were implemented from start, the way you wanna play sounds like a hardcore type way. you can do that for urself, playing alone for 800hrs till u get ur first epic.
How about stop telling me how to play my game that I'm spending $15 a month on?
You start paying my sub, you can start telling me how to play.
all of these things were in the game back in vanilla too, they just weren't as good as they are now. also how does an AH addon give you any advantage other than being able to filter the AH how you want. sure people can use them to make money faster but the people who make full use of these addons in that way would make their gold without them anyway. all the people who sit here saying NO ADDONS are the same people who quit before hitting 60 or just into P1
I would not play that
@@downeastbeast6448 where exactly did i tell u that u spund like a 13 yo, u can play whatever and however u want but dont cry if ppl dont wanna play with u cuz u cant get mechanics right. But go ahead maybe we will see each other in naxxramas in about 5 yrs 😅
This tryhard minmaxing is the curse that kills fun... imperfection is the new perfection!
I’ve played with no addons and no care for any of that since classic 2019, the parsing stuff is annoying but to each their own.
@@proverbsone7657 Yeah, me too. No addons... well, except maybe raid calender, but that was all... didn't need it. It's more challenging and fun that way.
@@mizore7484 if you play for yourself - fine. if you play in a dedicated guild and having no addons kills 39 other people cuz u want a more challenging way - i dont know bro.
@@bricksquadgermany Nothing is new in Classic. If you know how things work, you don't need any addon. MC, BWL, ZG... no issues without addons. Mistakes kill people and mistakes also happen with addons.
Also I don't want to play in a tryhard raiding guild, I want to play to have fun.
@@mizore7484 i talked about semi hardcore guilds, cant u read ? if its that easy, where are your 6 hardcore lvl 60 full aq gear chars, bet you wont play w/o addons if ur lifes on the line :) people like you talk all that ish on the net but cant get decent logs...its annoying.
Me and my brother always wanted to play. Had no money back then to spend. Classic came at a point in our lives we where to busy having a life. This comes perfect. We making the time to finally play this game and experience it. No min-maxing just enjoying the ride. Really hoping some casual guilds that don't min-max everything, and if there are veterans help the new players go through the fun parts of the game.
My community guild will be welcoming all, going on the PvP server as horde. Join my discord if you guys are interested.
@@hammerdancegaming Thanks for the invite, we are gonna choose the PVE server though we don't really enjoy pvp in most games.
I’d be down to consider joining up
That's precisely the type of attitude for which this game was made.
Will you be playing PvE or PvP?
@ probably pve? That’s what I’ve always done mainly out of a fear of not being able to quest without getting killed. Not familiar with pvp servers at all
Love this. I'm going to slow walk it this time around. Focus on professions and run a shammy for the first time while I wait for TBC.
Beautifully constructed and argued video. Thanks. It needed to be said.
Love when ya'll youtubers talk about these things but still make guides and contribute to the issues. #deletewowhead!!!
Your comment about wow classic transporting one to a time in one's life that one looks fondly upon, really resonated with me. Way back then, I was a carefree student, full of optimism and dreams of the future, not yet bitten by reality.
:/
When classic RE release came out in 2019 I told my self I was going enjoy every step of it because I had never played classic before, only TBC-. I got to 60 in about a month or so😂😂
Thank you so much, what a beautiful video!!
i feel like hardcore wow fresh is the best version of wow, you meet people who actually care
This was nice :)
I wanna just say that I've long subscribed to this mentality and opinion.
What professions will you choose :)?
@@Danny_79 That I don't know lol. Im thinking just mining/herbs until 40 so I can get a mount. Then LW or Eng for the hunter and herbs alc for the Druid.
@@usernametaken5619 thought I would level to 58 go mining keep all my ore and go jewelcrafting 🙂 loved TBC 2006 played in a cybercafe with some hard ass Koreans now they were sweaty
Straight in the feels
The Vanilla TBC WOTLK arc is just the best thing ever... I'd prefer a separate server for each expansion, but re-releasing is alright with me too, an opportunity to do things I didn't get done last time
Lets be realistic here. There is no fresh anymore. Blizzard is just recycling again and again instead of investing in something slightly new like SOD.
Most people just gonna race to 60 or get mage boosted as usual and its gonna be the same unfortunately.
back to being boosted to 60 , buying gold , raidlogging for ez content, crying about nothing to do, 30% of specs are viable! Cant wait!!!
I will stretch out the pleasure of leveling up as much as possible.
Take it slow smell the roses, literally yesterdays video ---> "Hey everyone! Im here today to help you pick your class and get ahead of the rush!!!!"
still can't decide which class to play after many years of wow

This was a really good video man! I agree I am taking it casual this time around.. I cant even believe honestly that im playing my 50 millionth fresh from private servers to classic release in 2019 lol. Theres always something special about it though.
i feel very lucky to have been 11 when it came out, with the ability to explore this world with my young homies. too magical. too much fun
I always played Alliance, so this time I'm going Horde.
All the fellas getting on and leveling together was the most fun I had in any game.
Truly a different experience. 2019 Classic was something else.
Great video man really hit home for me ! Makes me wanna play again just for the feeling of what life was like with no responsibility’s and being a kid again. 10/10 video brother !
Super video dude. I was nervous picking a class due to raid spots but yeah, this time im gonna roll something fun.
Great video man keep them coming, so exited for fresh!!
Well said my dude! Let's get in there and HAVE FUN!!
They say its only a game. Wow is not just a game. Its life.
I really hope you're right. We should all take it slow and enjoy the game, it will create a better and more positive classic experience for everyone.
Simply beautiful. Thank you for this.
one point my friend, absolut on point. I agree with all. In germany we say "Unterschreibe ich so" translate "i will signature your Opinion"
thank you for that video my dude, i appreciate your work!
I'm an old ass man but I'm so hyped for the fresh servers😂
This is my first time playing classic this fresh wasn't around in 2019 I'm so excited for the journey
I hope there will be many chill friendly guilds for causal lovers of the classic journey in FRESH.
Making this video and then having the rested xp levelling guide sponsorship at the end feels like its such bad taste lmfao.
Game makers to create a journey first end game 2nd . They need to be super creative and care for the details. That means less % of revenue for the company sunning the show and thats a no no. Make it fast and put it to market even if its shit .
Fresh hype! So pumped this will lead into tbc also! And I am sure it will continue to wrath if it does well! Exciting 3 ish years to come again. 😁
These videos always sound so good. But no one actually does it :/
I hate when I can't keep up with everyone rushing through a dungeon. Killing everything before I can get there I can't look around or even find out what I'm supposed to do. I can't even think of doing a raid... No way.
I swear you have posted an almost exact video like this before
Is fresh start worth it if you never played classic before?
@@adamw4338 yes! It’s the best time to start
i am hyped ! i will roll for the first time ever a warlock - an old grim orc - and I am going deep destro even for pve. i hope it will the season of jank, if not i will open the guild "jankyard" and form a chill enviorment to form raid, dungeon and bg groups. i kinda wish for no addons rule on classic fresh (maybe stuff like leatrix or dominos is okay, but no weak aura or dbm) - i played sod until recently with no addons and i had such a blast.
Been playing like this from the beginning, ppl only realizing now.....
I started playing 2019, love it…I think I wanna try something new and play a warrior. I agree playing something new and learning something new seems like a great time
how can we play on this new servers ? I havent played the game since wow classic 2020
@@Massari.08 download the Battle.net launcher, install world of Warcraft classic, wait till Thursday evening when the new servers launch, login and create your character on the new classic era server
I'm taking it chill this time around
imo the slower pace isn't a flaw
IMO this fresh will be no different from the others. I don't believe people will take it slow and eventually the sweaty mentality will takeover once again its just in human nature unfortunately. I have recently got back into hardcore though and am quite excited for the fresh server. HC is the closest thing that replicates vanilla for me.
This is exactly my sentiment and what I hope to see going forward, but the 1 year release cycle is like so contrary to that. Maybe I'll try TBC this time.
so many memories back from that time - in game and outside of it..
I’ve never leveled a classic character all the way up which means I’ve never done raids, should I try again with my new guild and try and push all the way through? I’m a newish player who has been on and off wow for a year now so the journey has been rough trying to understand everything about wow
Perfect video exactly my thoughts.
And then... Restedxp pops up lol 😂
Hammer you plan on playing hardcore at all? Or just fresh
great video gave me hope
cant play classic after sod
It is nice step by blizzard, because a lot of people will have a good experience playing vanilla wow. I am also in this heap of people.
Bros what would be a good chill dps that’s easier to play mainly for PvP and achievements with maybe some raids
Mage
im generell obsessed with progression, parses etc but this time i will play casual and just enjoy the game
