Thanks for the info, Dave. I'm new to RC helicopters. I received a XK K110 in the mail yesterday. It had a bad servo right out of the box. Now I know it's an easy fix.
Perfect timing once again Dave, I just sat down to re-build my V977 and this video pops up. After 3 years flying the V977 it is just worn out. I have the full metal BLING upgrade kit for it. I love this little heli Both indoors and out-side. Nice job on the tail mod.
That’s a nice little heli, I really like it a lot. Flies smooth, very responsive, and it flies (well, you make it fly!) inverted very nicely too. Nice flying in those “close quarters” btw. 👍 Semper Fi.
This repair works on most of the small WL Toys Helicopters with 1.9 Gr Servos. These tips are for new Power Star Fliers, but old hands at them may see something of interest too. Thanks for watching, Dave Herbert
Hi Dave. Once again thankyou for your amazing advise and tips. I fell in love with this little heli after watching you fly it and decided I had to have one ! Unfortunately I've been unable to get one here in Australia and the only one I have been able to find is overseas and works out to be around $280 Australian dollars shipped ! way out of my affordability I'm afraid. Do you know anywhere I can get my hands on one or can you please recommend another small easy to get and affordable alternative to the V977 ? Thanks again Dave. Regards Jim. Melbourne Australia.
Hi James. Well it seems the V977 has been discontinued. Here is one, that is made by WL Toys that is just as good. When searching, make sure to get one that says 3D6g with TX. This is the V-950 usa.banggood.com/WLtoys-V950-2_4G-6CH-3D6G-System-Brushless-Flybarless-RC-Helicopter-RTF-p-1080417.html?gmcCountry=US¤cy=USD&cur_warehouse=CN&createTmp=1&V2&ad_id=505010672155&gclid=CjwKCAjwu5CDBhB9EiwA0w6sLZcugalnQzTjFLcunodoobj9KB9kb5_wvatgxoJYcuzUar9xpEnBhRoCdIEQAvD_BwE
You just reminded me to clean the threads out on my tube of Amazing Goop, I had to import it from the US a few years ago as it contains a chemical that’s not allowed in British adhesives. It’s a really good glue, certainly something I’d recommend.
Wow, I used to import my acrylic Polishes from Germany, because they couldn't make it here, so I thought you folks could make anything. Now we make it here as you have seen in my videos. I love that Goop and use it a lot....its Amazing! LOL.
I have this, its a tank.... i lost the count how many times i crash it.... the main gear fall off every crash but this is good because this saves other parts.... i dont inverted yet but...... soon
Thanks. Yes, I guess I could have gone in further depth. The Transition button changes modes to to 3 and 4 also, and there is a hover help switch for center hovering ease. Thanks.l
Great little machines. I still have my nine eagles solo pro 125. Looking into a brushless conversion, but that seems to be quite hard to do. Especially since parts are scared. The thing I don't like about the new brushless rc helis is that there are barely any spektrun compatible bnf models.
Thanks kindly. I know what you mean about the Spectrums, but at least the TX it comes with is not too bad. See my A350 for another perspective. ruclips.net/video/cHVKPZ6sFaU/видео.html
@@NightFlyyer yeah the TX is decent. I like to keep my transmitter collection down tho. I'm think I have around 12 laying around. So mostly looking for anything compatibel with my dx9
Hi Dave, any ideas why my 977 is totally unstable in 3d mode. It's ok in normal but flick it into 3D and the cyclic control seems like it has no gyro damping whatsoever and the heli is virtually uncontrollable, nothing like yours.
Well that is hard to tell via this text, but was it always screwy or became that way after crashing? Some hard crashes cause the main gear to push away from the frame a bit and become sloppy. Push it back up tight and see what happens. Also turn on the heli and set it down flat right away so the gyros set. Good luck.
Have just bought the Brush Less v 977 power star...how tight should the main gear to pinion mesh be?.seems tight you literally have to turn rotor by hand ...i have a older blade msr...and the rotor spins freely not familiar with the v 977 specs any info ?? much appreciated
I don't really like V-977 it had some swash play from factory and parts are crazy expensive today I do not own V-977 anymore (totalled) I have a plan to build my own heli with xk100 parts and use cc3d evo as a fc for it But for now I'm working more on making an engine for it and for now machining nickel alloy cylinder is more challenging than it looks like
Yes, I agree. It takes some patience and understanding, but I have had very good luck with both mine for over 2 years and all the other WL toys versions that did not survive the fire. Your making a nitro engine version?of an XK100? Good luck with that, as I have had and reviewed small engine helis, like the Russian engined Novel by lite machines powered by a .051. That is small. ruclips.net/video/zwLnLu3TaDQ/видео.html To make a nitro engine the size of the Cox .010 which was the smallest production nitro engine in the world, will be a challenge, hard to start, and messy, so if you think the V-977 was a handful, your in for a big surprise, especially adding a tank and expecting a tiny nitro engine to run it. Let me know when it's done and flying and good luck.
@@NightFlyyer thanks for info and yea small nitro engines are messy For now I'm trying to use nickel alloy for cylinder so I can use as light oil as possible for minimum mess and hopefully more combustion power

Great. Glad to help. Thanks and happy flying..
Dave you are a pleasure to watch flying, I do believe you can fly anything.
Thanks so very kindly. I'll try anything. LOL.

Yes, it is pretty cool. I appreciate your comments. Thanks much and Semper Fi to you as well!
Hi Dave, great that you fly the Wltoys helis, I love em too ... so cool flying indoors like that wow 3d too woohoo ...Kiora from NZ :)
Thanks to watching your videos Dave I flew my new Align Trex 150 yesterday. Its like riding a bike :)
Those are nice for sure. Happy flying and thanks.

well done sir! great instructional video.. makes me wanna go and do some heli flying again (got a new one on it's way :))
Cheers & have a good week!

Keep up the good work Dave !
I will try, Kyle. Thanks much!
Great video Dave and you should have mentioned the transmitter is mode 2 mode 1 switchable from the slide switch above the on off switch. :)

Hi Dave,
I need to get my electric Shuttle conversion finished. Been a looong time for some heli stick time.
Just do it!

Hobbyking sells the same 1.9g servo, but it's white though.
Thanks. Yes, but I didn't want to wait for it to ship from China.

Ok, thanks for taking the time to reply.
That is a real nice indoor flyer Dave. Where did you purchase it? I think I want one.
Not sure it it's still Available, but parts are. I got it at Banggood.com Thanks.

Brushless motors have very strong magnets in this small motor and it will feel tight. If it spins up all right, I would just enjoy flying it.

Hello sir I am a big fan, would you check out and review xk k110, please your opinion would mean so much thank you
Thanks. The xk i110 s a brushless heli with the exact same rx and motor as this v-977 which is also brushless, so it will fly exactly the same. Thanks
