a long time since this video came out but i have a question... i had picked up 2 of them a while ago and i hooked everything up tried to use it and it just simply not fly straight, it spins around and is very difficult to fly.. any guidence or advice would be highly apprecieted!
I would first try resetting the transmitter ( so all settings are zeroed out! Then try to tune it using trim tabs! Or sometimes hair gets tangled around the tail blade shaft! Make sure tail blades are correct for it Lastly could be a bad ( speed controller? In the heli? ) Other than that I’d say replace rear tail motor, if still no than replace speed controller! Hopefully just a hair or bad tail blade? ( look closely they can crack and SPIN ON THE SHAFT, but look like they are working! ) Jd
You got most of it right , but you got the debugging wrong, this is what it does, if you center all your trim buttons and the heli drifts say forward and to the left, and it would take to much trim to get it back to a steady hover , center all your trims, push debug fast 3 times, then proceed to trim out your heli while in this mode, once you have a steady flight land the heli, unplug the heli first , then pushbthe debug button again to take it out of the debug mode, shut off the transmitter , plug in your heli , turn on transmitter and bingo , your heli is back to perfect hover mode with all trims centered , trust me and try it ,

It must setup on level ground, and with trim tabs zeroed out, the 3 servo arms should be horizontally level, you might have to remove screw and readjust a servo arm?
Hi Jerry a very good tutorial, you missed 1 thing, you can adjust your pitch on the blades to. Turn on the v977 and the TX, put it in 3G/3D mode, idle up on and Throttle hold on, Now you can put your throttle all the way up and hold the trim of the throttle up to adjust your pitch on the blades to make it faster. You can do the same with the throttle down to make it faster, or you can put your throttle up and hold the trim down to make it slower its the same with throttle down hole the trim up to make it slower.
A little confused. At the beginning of the video you talked about the top left switch being used to go in and out of 3D/6G mode. Then at the end of the video you talked about the lower right button being used in combination with the switch. Seems a bit redundant to have to use both button and switch if all I need to do is flip the idle/3d switch. I appreciate the tutorial. Thanks for posting! :)
The explanation in the video is a little confused. The button at the right of the circle at bottom right turns on and off 6 axis stabilization. This is not just for idle up 3D flying - you can also fly in 'normal' mode without 6 axis stabilization. The toggle switch at top left switches the heli into idle up mode, where the throttle runs at a high rate constantly and the pitch moves evenly from negative to positive, so inverted flight is possible, BUT the idle up toggle switch will only enable idle up if the heli has first had 6G stabilization turned off via the lower right button.
Are the setups for the "L" dual rate defaulted from factory already or is input required for desired settings?....it seems there is no difference between the two now....I assume the "H" is 100% to 0% at least that is what the screen displays....i don't know if the easier dual rates would still be displayed at the 100% or if the actual selected rates would be displayed....looks like that Devo line has it figured out.

Hello Ghvy1122, Sorry for the confusion, Top left toggle, is throttle hold/3D mode, ( allows inverted flight )it only works when bottom right button is in 3d mode, 3D mode is 3 axis gyro stability, 6g mode is 6 axis gyro stability.( 6 is more stable than 3 ) . Now with toggle off, and in 3D mode, will be normal flight ( throttle down is off, up is full throttle ) With toggle on, throttle stick will be centered ( engine will be full, but with 0 pitch ( middle throttle stick is idle ( 0 pitch ) , top full positive pitch ( up not inverted )bottom full negative pitch ( up inverted ) hope this helps! hello. I have a simulator installed on my pc, BUT can I use/connect this heli's transmitter to my pc with a cable? I dont see any ports on the transmitter itself in order to be able to hook up a cable and connect transmitter to pc
Hello They recommend you calibrate Tx, when you cannot trim your craft correctly! Example: say your craft drifts left, but you trimmed it all the way right, but craft still goes left! Then calibration is necessary! If your craft trims out and flies nice, than no need to calibrate! Hope this helps! Jd

I died in my maiden flight. NOT FOR BEGINNERS!!!! I went into this thinking: o.k. Airhogs copters are a cinch.....I got this!!! 2 main rotors cracked and main gear sheared off, also a friction burn on my thumb. This thing now has my respect and full attention.
Man, not sure? Without power nothing should happen, maybe esc is bad and dumping a capacitor load onto the motor ( does it fade away after a bit? Without power to it? Jd
I currently have the small V911 and larger V913 brushless WL Toys helis along with their transmitters and battery chargers..... can someone tell me positively if any of these are compatible and usable , if I purchase the V977 BNF model.....thanks
Gary Vale " yes Gary, all wltoys Tx units are compatible, I have the early 959 quad, and and the v222 with newer Tx, like this one in the video, and both work on all crafts, I own. ( v959, V222, and the V977 ) of course I like the newer Tx better, but you will be good! Keep Flying! J Dot
gary, the Tx for the V911 & V923 are completely different from the V977 Tx. The V911 & V923 Tx is not 3D capable. i have the V911 & V977 helis and have tried to bind the V977 heli to the V911 Tx. it does not work. i hope u get this reply b4 u buy the BNF V977.
The v977 version with simulator software, uses a special remote with a port, all other versions ( the remote does not have a port ) sorry, you might be able to find a remote with port on eBay? Good luck! Jdot
Gary Vale , I believe the transmitter works on any WL TOYS model, as it is their ( upgrade Tx ), For some models ( that come with old model TX ) Even works on the quad copters as well. Only one way to find out! Give it a go! You will have to readjust your trims. Jd
You explain how to "calibrate" the controller, but you do not explain WHAT that does. What is being calibrated, and how would I determine if the control is out of calibration and needs to be recalibrated? Please explain in detail. Thanks!
looking for some help with my v977 heli the tail motor stop working so I changed the main board and that didn't solve the problem can any one tell me what I should do next ??
Hello William, most likely the tail motor itself has failed, they sell replacement motors, which you must solder in place, or buy the complete tail boom replacement, it just plugs in! Hope this helps! Jd
I got a new tail with the motor on it and that does not work either . What happens as the throttle goes up the tail motor will not start but on the way back down on the throttle you will get a short run of the tail motor
I already have a replacement tail motor assembly and I tried it and it still will not work . When take the throttle to mid stick and then pull the rudder to full right and toward low throttle it will come on for a short pulse then stop . I am now waiting on a new esc to see if it will solve this problem
About the instruction, I believe they have trouble using the English word "binding" , and instead they say "pair the code", "coding". If you read the entire instruction booklet, you can't find the word "binding" any where.

Oh, it also helps if both the wires to the throttle hold switch are attached. Had to pull the back off the Tx to solder one on!

I noticed my heli came with a black motor with only 1 wire coming from. is this brushless for sure?
Other then the joystick change what is the difference between mode 2 and 4, and 1 and 3?
my heli keeps pulling to the right no matter what I do. I tried trimming and hover debugging and nothing seems to work.

Any ides as when I unplug lipo the motor goes tight,if I unplug 2 motor wires from esc it spins free again,
