Would it be cool to connect the wires to the amp for a real-time reading of the power being supplied to the amplifier? Power to power, ground to amps ground location, and the remote wire of the voltmeter connected to the amps remote wire so the voltmeter kicks on and off with the amp.
Also does wiring this to the cigarette lighter have some results? What about plug and play cigarette lighter voltmeter readers are they the same thing ? Thanks
I just read that the plug n play cigarette lighter meters aren’t too accurate due to Some cars having a relay (which limits voltage sometimes to the lighter)
I don't know shit but I would assume that you would want the volt meter connection to where the power will be draining from so that you know how much power you are actually getting in that particular point. So in this case it would be your amp
(REM)remote wire is basically to tell the system to turn on when you turn the key so you’d connect the wire to like a ignition wire and then to the REM spot on the amp
Hey brotha! I have a single cap ford f-150 truck and my amp is screwed down on the floor board behind the driver seat and i put my volt meter screwed to the back wall where the plastic trim is where i can see it clearly and connected it to my amp so when i turn on my sterio and amp comes on the volt meter shows you how much you start with and moves with your syatem working and it shows 14.5 and my kicker amp doesn't starve for power! Just wanted to share that with you and other people who have a syatem in their ride!
@@Petethebuilder There’s three ports and two wires, obviously you can only wire two… with a two wire voltmeter you won’t have a remote turn on option. You wore negative to negative, positive to positive, and nothing to remote..
straight to the point, simple explanation thank you very much
You’re welcome, glad you found this useful.
Just got an AGM and a 240 amp alt that I put in runs 14.5 steady on my trucks stock volt meter

@@bwortham1987 yes, that’s actually how I have mine set up.

So you wired it to your subwoofer AMP instead of to the battery? Where did you remote wire go? Remote wire on AMP? What does that do?
Amp, you want to see what the amp is getting. Remote goes to remote on amp, this is so the voltmeter isn’t constantly on.

yes sir, thanks for sharing!
Do u have a link for this exact
Volt meter ?
@@isaiahtrumbo9499 I do not, but you can search “3 wire voltmeter” on Amazon or eBay to pull them up.
👍👍👍
So the most important question if you order a 2 wire volt meter where do those wires go?
Bruh it’s two wires and self explanatory at that point.. negative to negative and positive to positive
@@RidinDirtyTX but their is 3 ports... Ok I got you so just split 🪓 1 wire into 2 so I have 3 wires. Gotcha

Can you list where you got this and the part numbers please
Screenshots are of Amazon and eBay options. They are your run of the mill three wire voltmeter
Where do I buy a volt meter?
You can them on Amazon or eBay. Just type in three wire volt meter (or two if you want the two wire) and you should see a bunch of options.
Which one is that tho??
Which what, voltmeter?
