They changed the time because of the physics change and certain cars can do faster times. Also don't go above traction control 1 or 2. You just lose half a second after that. I recommend 1 if you have trouble with the car

Comfort tyres aren't actually that bad for rain. Sport tyres slide more, and, undoubtedly, racing tyres (that aren't inters or heavy rain tyres) will make you feel like you're ice skating.
Love Gran Turismo, got platinum on all parts of this series. GT5 was the hardest platinum in my opinion, whilst GT Sport was the most time consuming part due to level 50 grind...
Most difficult thing for Platinum on GT7 would be 3 legendary cars, with some price tags over 10M credits and vehicles only being available in the Legends Dealer, it’s a lot of grinding and waiting for them to stock the cars needed. Licenses are frustrating, but so relieving and rewarding once complete to gold. 🙏🏽

They updated the license times because they’ve fixed/tweaked the physics to make cars easier to handle. All of them are doable, on controller. Just have to get good!

yea as a non gt player this plat is the hardest thing to exist. you just gotta put a lot of time in to understand the mechanics and driving lines like i did when i first started play gt like 10 years ago
personally ... using breaking zone indicators are helping me quite a bit with this plat, would love to know what (if any) assists you had on silly goober
@@blueyedevil07 breaking zone is really helpful especially for post-beginners. I spend over 190 hours before i memorized track sections good enough that i dont need precise brake zone - especially with online time trials, which really develop those skills to improvise and get better. I doubt he is a guy who will ever turn them off anyways as he aims to get platinium and never get back to that type of game, so who cares.... he can do what he feels after all. I personally recommend - mid assists(not too much but not completely all off - unless you are ready to risk spinning of mid of important race. I have ABS usually default and sometimes weak to help understeer slightly and pressure sensitivity on brake and gas on weak but been tempting to try with 'off' as well soon and TCS can go from 0-3 all after situation and whats the final point. mostly 1 especially with snappy cars. Completing human comedy all gold including lake maggiore - that is a nightmare does require serious skills and memorising track and just creating a routing as it requires consistent 1.57 or 1.58 in a whole hour + AI that can spin you off and ram you on straight just to disbalance the car... AI is too evil and rigged on lake maggiore.
I agree with you 100%....I only have the one license trophy left to get the platinum and only have 4-10 on the super license to finish and I would GLADLY pay someone else to get the golds. The most frustrating thing about it is I would have the Platinum if they had left the times like they were originally. But making the times harder was just wrong!!!
The times had to change because they changed the physics and the cars got way faster. You're lucky that you ain't playing Gran Turismo 2 or 3 where it was insanely difficult. You had to be a very good player. I'm not the best in GT7 but also not and I did get all gold even after the update on another account.
The gold times are absurd. Previous games my natural speed was usually a silver, but it didn't take too many runs to figure out how to go faster and get gold. On 7 I'm lucky if I get silver on the first try, and getting gold is damn near impossible. I swear you have to be Max Verstappen to get some of those gold times.

I got the platinum in march with the new times and when I saw that they shaved all the gold times by like a secondo or even two I was like shocked, especially with the last test in the super licence. That was a real nightmare

Well i wouldnt complain too much about Master license as it came way later than the normal license so the times were already estimated on the base of the current physics, unlike the older test where they had to change little bit of this and that.
Currently stuggling on IA-10 with the green Mercedes AMG GT R and those damn 0:56.000 (for the times being lowered, they also improved the physics of the game since launch so they adjusted the required times too, not sure if it is really much harder than before).
Not gonna lie the License center made me feel weak 😂 like I never thought that losing to myself (ghost car) could be so frustrating so many times I made a curve thinking I did good only to see my Ghost getting ahead of me my god this place felt like hell😂 so I definitely feel your pain my brother 😂. At some points I had to change between manual and automatic because the automatic was changing gears way to late messing up my recovery from curves
I share your thoughts on the licence centre, you literally have to train to be a pro race car driver to get anywhere near the platinum. I manged to do it after many hours of just trial and error.
I'd love to see the Gran Turismo 4 License Tests. If you thought getting all golds in this game was fun, that game will definitely be an experience. Also, little tip with the license tests. Turning off the assists or at least turning Traction Control down and ASM off really improves times greatly, but makes it harder to drive. The gold times only went down because car handling was tweaked in game, so the times were about equally as difficult at launch.

I have posted video before on my own run - 55.900, NO TCS and NO ABS which just made it pretty much possible to toss that german sausage around track hahaha. Came back to it 4 months or 200 hours later - i dominated it - 10 golds in a row with best one being 55.100 which i believe is possible high 54.xxx
when the torrential rain comes you're much better off with sports tires because slick tires just have no grip in the rain at all. the first race has torrential rain the latter half of it
I just recently finished getting gold in all the normal licenses. Was never that much proud of myself because I was in the same situation as you when I first started playing the game last year thinking I would never do it. Last month I came back to do this for real and actually found out why I was always so slow. I was done with licenses after three days. Never going to do them ever again.
Before complaining about the license tests times, keep in mind that the tire and suspension physics were way less forgiving when the game released, that 57.9 was an absolute nightmare to achieve at the time, license test times didn't got harder, they were adjusted to the new and more forgiving physics that don't kill you if you press the gas pedal a inch more than you were supposed to

Abarth was bought by FIAT a long time ago... but it was a great racing car, light and cheap. Winning several races. They recently launched new models here in Brazil (despite being italian) and I got one. Pretty amazing car if I say so myself.

Got the platinum just before the update that made the time trials harder 😛 was helping a friend get them afterwards and the challenges are indeed very hard, but if you love the game, you get a lot better at it over the months which make you enjoy the challenges 😁
well, controller user here... for someone that is completly new to racing yes this platinum is imposible i would say, but for somone who understands racing and what to do, then its a piece of cake. u will get this platinum, but the game will force you to learn how to drive/race.
I got the platinum in Gran Turismo 7 and it was actually enjoying and not that hard to get (except all gold medals in all Licenses). I tried GT Sport platinum, it was a different type of pain. (To get it you have to do EVERYTHING on gold, reach level 50... and the hardest: win 91 online races). I did everything on gold, including Nordschleleife trial time... But I can't get the platinum anymore, because on 31/01/2024 they decided to server shutdown on GT Sport. I really wanted to get that platinum after all I did😢

Actually the license tests are easier, the time changed because the game physics changed, so they adjusted the time you need.

Before complaining about the license tests times, keep in mind that the tire and suspension physics were way less forgiving when the game released, that 57.9 was an absolute nightmare to achieve at the time, license test times didn't got harder, they were adjusted to the new and more forgiving physics that don't kill you if you press the gas pedal a inch more than you were supposed to
So in short: You have no skill and no clue what is going on.

Abarth was bought by FIAT a long time ago... but it was a great racing car, light and cheap. Winning several races.
They recently launched new models here in Brazil (despite being italian) and I got one. Pretty amazing car if I say so myself.

Got the platinum just before the update that made the time trials harder 😛 was helping a friend get them afterwards and the challenges are indeed very hard, but if you love the game, you get a lot better at it over the months which make you enjoy the challenges 😁

well, controller user here... for someone that is completly new to racing yes this platinum is imposible i would say, but for somone who understands racing and what to do, then its a piece of cake. u will get this platinum, but the game will force you to learn how to drive/race.

I got the platinum in Gran Turismo 7 and it was actually enjoying and not that hard to get (except all gold medals in all Licenses).
I tried GT Sport platinum, it was a different type of pain. (To get it you have to do EVERYTHING on gold, reach level 50...
and the hardest: win 91 online races).
I did everything on gold, including Nordschleleife trial time...
But I can't get the platinum anymore, because on 31/01/2024 they decided to server shutdown on GT Sport.
I really wanted to get that platinum after all I did😢
