- In preparation for snowmobile camping adventures, I test out my gear by spending the night outside in my hammock at -2 Fahrenheit.
When the temperatures drop below zero, it's a great time to test out your cold weather camping gear. Before I head out into the wilderness with my 09 Yamaha Vector snowmobile, I want to make sure my cold weather setup is up for the challenge of keeping me warm. I learn the hard way that GoPros don't work very well in sub zero temps, but I also use a few tricks that come in handy when trying to stay warm in the extreme cold overnight.

Good stuff. It doesn't get as cold as that here in Scotland, so I use a quick erect khyam igloo tent, carried on the bike. Its great for having all your riding kit inside with you, and still not being cramped, and if it is raining , you are inside within a couple of minutes.
Hello! I’m from New York and have a snowmobile house in Eustis. Yes it’s a disappointing year and I had high hopes. I snowmobile camp in Rangeley and I want to go to Lilly Bay state Park on Moosehead Lake. I’m going to Mt. Blue State Park tomorrow. I pulk sled camped on foot out of frustration from low snow also. Where are you, maybe I’ll see you out there. Good luck, the snow is here! 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️🛷🔥⛺️🌄
It's great to hear from you! Eustis is such a great area. I camped in both Mt Blue and Eustis this spring and had a fantastic time. I really want to snowmobile that area and hit Grand Falls and Coburn Mountain. I live near Bangor, which is pretty centrally located to so many great areas. Due to snowfall, Eustis has been high on my list this year, and might even happen as soon as this weekend! Thanks for the comment, and have fun out there!
@@DualRider ha! You said something about driving two hours because of no snow. When we first had rideable snow I met a man and his son from Bangor on the trails. Well I hope you have fun this weekend and good luck.
