I miss the top 10 seasonal videos. Was always good to see what your favourites were. Hope they come round again at some point. SOTD Must de Cartier Pour Homme 👍
The opening is my favorite in the Terre line up with the green notes triggering memories of stomping through the weeds and woods as a kid. Sadly you are spot on about the longevity. The freshness drops to a skin scent in about 4 hours. I still love the fresh, clean, and natural profile of this release so I snagged a bottle. I plan on just filling up a travel decant to carry with me to reapply at the office. The EDT is still my overall favorite due to my love of a natural Cedar note which is so hard to find.
I recently scored a Eau Fresh and immediately compared these two. You're right. I get fatigued from givree by the end of the day and am glad to shower it off. Fresh tells a story and finshes strong.
Every fragrance needs a backbone. That's what makes a creation complete. Especially when it comes from a house like Hermes. Light or heavy a backbone is a must.
Love, love love the original!!! I remember trying Eau Tres Fraiche in 2015, but my nose wasn't that developed at the time so I didn't appreciate it, will definitely get a sample, this one... meh, I prefer to redirect those resources to buy something more substantial.. and dark. Thanks for the Samplin' Marc!!!
This is actually my fave TDH. I had it in the summer last year, but sold it this summer. I just needed more liveliness in my warm weather scents, but I do really like it.
Eau Givree is my first and only TDH currently. I think it’s great and I get about 7-8 hours of performance from it. However that might just be my skin. I want to try the parfum and Eau Intense.
Sampled it last year, but it did not do enough to become a buy for me. I have the Pamplelune (Guerlain), so in my mind the Eau Givree was redundant, plus I had issues with it not lasting as long on my skin. Eau Tres Fraiche, still is my favorite, and I'll guard that bottle I have left.
I have both the newer Givrée and Eau Tres Fraiche, and like them about the same. It's been a while since I've worn them but I can't remember complaining about the backend of Givrée. I would need to wear them again and really focus on the detailed aspects. But both great.
I have the whole line of Tere D'Hermes, and for me personally, Eau Tres Freiche is my hands down favourite. Whenever I want a smell to give me a pick up or a "feel good" type of vibe, ETF never disappoints. It brightens my day, from the start to the very end. EAU Givree smell great too, and the opening is fantastic however, I agree it just doesn't have that same type of "Hermes" quality ETF, or the original has. Not as daring, rather it's toeing the line. Nevertheless, it's still a summer banger in my opinion.
I pretty much had the same reaction after I experienced Eau Givree. TONS of people were hyping it saying everything about the opening, and so I got a few samples. While I do "like" it for the opening, as you said, that's pretty much it. And the end of the day, I pretty much said, "I'd rather just get the original TDH." Apart from the opening, the rest is just "okay." So naturally, I didn't think about getting a bottle. In fact, I have a small 50 mL of Red Vetiver from Montale and that one is more interesting as a more woody and slightly peppery version of TDH.
Haven’t sampled this one well enough, but the opening definitely has me wanting a bottle. Super hot here in Texas and would be a perfect scent during the summer.
I have this one for the GA heat , have not worn it yet that and the EDP … looking forward to experiencing the vibe and how it does down here in the dirty .
The idea was to replace Eau Tres Fraiche with this, so I assumed that’s why the base is so thin (ETF still had a lot from the original in that department). Original TDH EDT is probably still my favorite!
Bought a bottle yesterday on sale but im starting to regret it..The sample i have lasts 2/3 hours on me. Might sell the sealed bottle when it arrives...A shame because it opens really well.
You’re not wrong, but I still love it on a hot summer day. I drained a 50 and am halfway through a 100 over two summers. I just keep reapplying, hence the volume used 😂 It honestly performs exactly like most of my Acqua di Parmas. You know what you’re signing up for.
great video kid, I've never smelled "Givree" but I love vetiver and Hermes has always delivered! What are your top vetiver based fragrances? (niche or designer) Terre D Hermes (OG), Terre D Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche , Bal D Alfrique , Encre noire a l'extreme, Vetiver Tonka and" Fat electrician" (Etat libre de orange) are some of mine. In search of vetiver based fragrances similar to the quality of these. Any recommendations? I'm willing to explore other styles of vetiver as well!
I get the difference between this and the original in the dry down, but thus us great in summer and spring. I think its got enough on yhe dry down! I prefer it to the og.
Yeah, it's one of the best openings of all of my designer citrus fragrances, but there's nothing to it, just a basic, Iso E Super dry down. Eau Givree has an even better opening than Eau Tres Fraiche, but Eau Tres Fraiche is so much more interesting.
Pretty much my exact thoughts when this was first released. Great addictive opening, but on my skin it just dried down to a synthetic clementine pith. Like literally the pith. Weird and disappointing. Much better on clothing, although I still much prefer Eau Tres Fraiche. One plus - no more ridiculous twisting plastic cover for the atomizer. 🤣 Gawd that thing was awful.
Its funny when eau tres fraiche was readily available, most people and most of the reviewers didnt care for it at all. They were saying ETF had zero performance and smells meh and better get the EDT instead. Now its discontinued, the same people are now saying ETF is a masterpiece and they’re lucky to have backup bottles of ETF, Best terre of all time. Typical 😂😂 Im not saying robes08 are one of those people tho. I already knew he loved ETF from his earlier videos.
It's one of the things influencers use if they like the scent profile but see that most of the community dislikes it they utilize performance issues to knock it down to make sure they go with the rest of the community. It's an age old trick to make sure you keep your positive influence. Once discontinued, it's a gem as the community has changed it tune they now overlook the issues they previously had. ETF was and still is the one of the best if not the best of the line imo.
@@robes08Is it “taAaaarre” or “taaiiire”, or one of the other three different ways you butcher it in this video? Just want to be sure I say it correctly. Wait I just found out you’re Canadian. This explains everything. Peu importe!
This is probably the worst flanker of Terre. I cant respect it like the rest. The quality is there but thats it. Better than most of other designer scents but it falls apart in the drydown.

Appreciate your take on it and on the EDT.
You will find that gorgeous cedar note wafting out to you in givree. You won't regret buying it
I recently scored a Eau Fresh and immediately compared these two. You're right. I get fatigued from givree by the end of the day and am glad to shower it off. Fresh tells a story and finshes strong.
Agreed! It had potential tho.
I detect zero flatness. The dry down is so good.
👍
True but I don’t need backbone in a summer fragrance. Just reapply!
exactly dawg! backbone makes fragrances heavy dawg

Great video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day

It's good but of hot weather designers, Dior Homme Cologne is still a clear number 1

Good work with video edit. Enjoyable to watch.
Informative review. Thanks. Consider review of Vetiver Imperiale by Boadicea the Victorious. It's a freshie...
You nailed it, Mark. 8/10. Thanks for sharing. Prep yourself for Dior Sauvage Sport and Bleu de Chanel Elixir 😆

Very transparent review 👍
Always!

I do have eAu Tres Fraiche, so good. These videos are so good. Thanks for the video.

You may really like this one in the high heat.

Hey Marc, I enjoyed the sampin samples video! You should try the "Empyr" and "Onekh" from the Le Gemme line.
Fantastic fragrance! Favourite for me of the line. Perfect office scent. If you want to smell god for 3-4 hours this one is hard to fault
I’m wearing it right now to the gym
I love this one great mature smell great for the summer hot days. Lasting power not the best but still okej i get 5 hours
Bought a bottle yesterday on sale but im starting to regret it..The sample i have lasts 2/3 hours on me. Might sell the sealed bottle when it arrives...A shame because it opens really well.
Sad to see that.
Might be a good one to layer with

Nishane Sultan Vetiver

Ive found eau tres for £100 for 130ml what u think?
Coffeeeee timeee !!

I gave it a try but eventually sold my bottle. I'm not a fan of the direction taken with the Terre D'Hermes line.

💯
The original TdH is the best from the line. Givree is top heavy and then becomes boring as it dries down.
Correct ....hands down
If you want backbone, just use TDH Parfum
yep
Best Hermes
a very good one for sure.
I prefer Brioni Eclat
Why are you saying “Tire d’hermes”?
Parce ce que je suis français, donc je le dit en français. Merci beaucoup mon petit.
@@robes08 that’s not how it’s pronounced in any language. Let alone francais, mon frere.

I totally agree! After 30 minutes this basically disappears from your skin. Terrible performance
Eau Givree Parfum anyone?
This is probably the worst flanker of Terre. I cant respect it like the rest. The quality is there but thats it. Better than most of other designer scents but it falls apart in the drydown.
Agreed 👍
Me and alot with me disagreeing with you this is Zero fault and its masterpiece
👍
Water down perfumes like the rest of the designers
I recall when that crap was hyped . I waited for your review, pass. It is a spineless fragrance.
