Yes! Agreeing from Chicago. A lot of OG Chicagoans have expressed the same thing the OG's from Brooklyn and NJ were saying. The older gangs use to be more intuned with one another and came together to help one another, cause that was the whole point of creating gangs. Back in the days, if there was going to be a shootout or something they would let the women and kids know to stay home cause it wasn't gonna be safe. Nowadays they just shoot and whoever gets shot gets shot. It's sad, wish they could turn it around cause this aint it.
The thing that people don't realize about Chicago is that when you know you know...there aren't many words that need to be said. When you ask too many questions that's when you get your issue!
Not politicians, nor people with good intentions. It's these young men who hold the keys to change, and ONLY them. Sadly, they just don't seem to realize it.

Would only listen to their music. & coming out of that life working @ a store a lady asked me where was my accent from.. It's like it hit me like a ton of bricks.. Being in their environment doing the devils work, I had changed over the years & didn't notice. I thank the Lord for saving me. & I still have mad love for my hispanic people! For some reason when I came back to Canada after staying in NYC for a while I had a slight accent that I had picked up. Took a few weeks for it to disappear. just thought that was kinda interesting
I like the way the dude in Jersey City put it about how the older heads influence the younger heads to do shit cause they'll get less time than they would
Honestly the Chicago accent sounds pretty unique compared to Jersey or NYC, the Jersey accent is what I connect with hip hop and street accents because I feel I hear it way more. The Chicago accent just sounds different, its fast and very sing-songy like if they are about to start singing at a moments notice.
It’s cause many of their grandparents or greats migrated from the south. So it’s a mix of the south and Midwest. It’s actually changed the last 20 years. It was way more souther sounding. All these guys are young. New breed.

When I was 15 years old, my mom decided she wanted to live in Chicago. We moved out there on 65th or 69th and Paulina, I think…. I went to Roberson high school but as soon as I was old enough to leave home, I left Chicago. That life is for some people but not for me. I was bullied very first day of school…chased home because they said I was trying to pretend like I was white. It was just the way I spoke (from Indiana)…because of where I came from. I didn’t have that same mentality and my “accent” so I just didn’t fit in and I was more than happy to leave. As I said some people like that lifestyle, but I just was not for me.

New York has more immigrants. Haitian, Jamaican, West Indian, East Indian, West African, East African, Hispanic etc. Chicagoans, most are from Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Chicago is more American.
Tré D in the 1950s there was a great migration from those particular states. They went to LA Ca, St Louis or Chicago. The southeastern United States is where the majority of blacks live and originated from.
Tré D Remember, different southern states migrated to specific geographic locations. Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Virginia, which is technically the south because it’s below the Mason Dixon line, moved to New York.
No, Chicago accent isn't the same as Mississippi, Go to his hood dialect video around the country, you can tell the difference between Chicago and the south.

Its nice to get in touch with the urban culture from all these areas, I have been in NY long time ago. I am from The Balkans, Eastern Europe and I have been in the US only for a summer (in Ocean city, MD, but also in New York City). For Eastern Europeans or Asians is a such a luck or blessing to have a chance to live the American dream... or, with other words, to work in the US... I don't know why so many young gangsters are focusing mostly on this negative shit like gang wars etc instead of building their own life and prosperity... Focusing on wrong things from a young age, I think... I grow up on gangsta rap and all this shit, under influence of American and mostly Black culture, I love this! So, don't get me wrong, I am not there to judge or even try to give advice, just sharing my opinioun as someone far outside these areas... Peace!

This should be a testament to the fact that we are one people and we have to unify with our brothers from Chi town and other areas of the country. Stuff like rap music should bring us together and not divide us
Facts coming from another Brooklyn Kat
It's too late

The thing that people don't realize about Chicago is that when you know you know...there aren't many words that need to be said. When you ask too many questions that's when you get your issue!
Not politicians, nor people with good intentions. It's these young men who hold the keys to change, and ONLY them. Sadly, they just don't seem to realize it.

Accents is very ancient and more spiritual than many think
We can tap into any accent at any moment the more we hear it
It’s really spiritual intriguing topic Only the humanoids got accents while animals don’t have accents at all but animals sounds can then again have accents too even if they don’t make sounds with words
Pass that 😎

Would only listen to their music. & coming out of that life working @ a store a lady asked me where was my accent from.. It's like it hit me like a ton of bricks.. Being in their environment doing the devils work, I had changed over the years & didn't notice. I thank the Lord for saving me. & I still have mad love for my hispanic people!

Peace!
