- 1,208 days I owned my 2005 Toyota Tundra limited for. I waited 6 months to make this video to reflect on my decision and if I regretted it or not. Don't worry, there will be more Toyota content coming out real soon :)

I’ve had my 1st Gen Tundra year 2000, for 23 years!! Still loving it!
…so do I love mine!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳
Have had my 06 Tundra Double Cab for 14 years and 300,000km of adventures.
Nice!!…
Pretty sad day but excited to see the next truck! This truck is how I found your channel a few years ago originally. Very tastefully modified, one of my favorite 1st gens I've ever seen.
Thanks man! Def go follow Cody on IG to see the truck evolve. It has a sweet camper shell on it now
@@Garagetopics Saw that, shell fits the truck pretty well!
Just got a 06 4x4 double cab limited and love it so far, bought with 161k miles and decent condition
How much did you pay?
Cool to see from your perspective! Awesome video man
Just got a brand new 2024 Titan XD pro4x and guess what will happen to my 2006 DC Tundra? Nothin! Im keeping her. Your channel was my inspiration for my Tundra lift. I did the exact set up you did and it rides fantastic!
That is one nice example. The paint combo is incredible
I've had my 06 DoubleCab since a wrong way driver totaled my 80 series Landy on I5 about 2 years ago. I love it for the improved comfort, interior space, having a bed, and drive-ability on road but it'll never match the triple locked 80 on 35s off-road no matter what mods I do. Definitely a great truck though and I don't regret the purchase or the money I've spent throwing parts at it.
What truck lasted a million miles?
Toyota Tundra
Victor Sheppard, the man who famously drove his Toyota Tundra for over a million miles, is on the verge of achieving the extraordinary milestone once again.
I followed you because of the tundra - I had a 2006 4x4 almost identical to yours except it was an SR5. Sold it because I left the States, but now am looking into a Lexus GS450h so I’d selfishly recommend you get one of those :)
i've had mine for 2 years now. longest i've owned a truck is 6 yrs... it was also a Tacoma which i sold for 20k and bought my tundra for 15k.
Looks nice and sharp especially for the age. Thanks for the inspiration to paint the grill. My 2nd gen tacoma has a chrome finish, amongt everything else black, so it definitely looks out of place. This tacoma has been super reliable, except for the rear drive shaft. The carrier joint snapped 600 miles from home. I replaced it with a one-piece aftermarket unit and it has felt much more solid.
In regard to vehicle content, you're limited to whatever will make you happy and motivated to work on and share. From that subset, you could consider which might generate more social media following--i'm guessing anything too niche may not get very far. I think Honda 2000s have gotten a lot of popularity the last 5-7 years, as reflected in their 200-300% markup. If i were a betting man, i'd guess Miatas and Z3/Z4s might be next, since they've become more the value-line of options now relative to the S2000 from what I can tell.
Coming up on 20myears on my 04 Tundra. Gonna keep it. 28K new compared to 65K new today. F those new vehicle payments. Just gonna upgrade this one with a 10 inch stereo, new wheels, camper shell, TRD custom grille, retro fit led projectors headlights, bushwhacker fender flares. I think that’ll do it for me. Maybe a rear locker. Live in Az so ZERO rust.
Sad to see it go, this truck started my intro to your channel. Still curious as to the window deflectors and the tonneau cover.
The bed cover was a bakflip cover, and the deflectors I forget what the brand was as they were on the truxk when I got it
is it weird that this is my dream truck? perfect size in and out.
They are a great size!
Is that a Sony 9500ES? If so, do you have any issues with it? I'm about to pick up a 05 DC and I'm looking for a head unit and this one is a top choice, although the screen size worries me as I believe it would interfere with the vents. Any input is appreciated, great truck!!
How do you think the headlights are holding up? Do you still recommend them?
My '04 Access Cab Tundra has anchors for child restraint seats behind the passenger seat. Very odd in my opinion that yours did not. I don't see me ever giving mine up unless it's ever in a wreck. 318K miles on my daily driver and still going strong.
What size tires were these? any spacers and did they rub?
Im looking to buy a 1st gen tundra. Whats the max KM i should buy like 300,000km? is that too high? i live in canada so we dont do miles.
I bought my new SR5 Extra Cab new in March 2004. Going on 20 years. Bought and Paid for. I still take it to Toyota Santa Cruz for the basics. The Service
MGR bugs me to buy it.. For himself.
How many miles when you sold it? How much you get for it?
How much did you let it go for?
thanks
Good video sir, I got a question, we emailed you for inquiring an opportunity of auto LEDs lighting review but never heard back from you, Is the email stuck in your spam folder or that is something you are not interested.
The weak brakes and turning radius are my only issues with my tundra.
That and the lack of NOS
I learned how to steer a battleship by driving my 06 double cab😄
Did he mention how much he sold it for and how much he bought it for?
1st Gen Tundra Access Cab high mileage that needs work for dirt cheap and make it a project car
Where did you get that bed cover from? I have been going crazy trying to find one that nice.
I bought it used
@@Garagetopics Dang well thanks anyway, been a fan of the channel for a while and just didn’t remember it being brought up. I’ll keep searching. Would you have happened to remember or saw a company name on the cover?
(Kinda feels like asking the same question just in a different way 😂😂)
Yea it was a "bakflip" branded cover. Prob $1k new. I'd just buy a $100 cover from Amazon, I've had good luck with those in the past
@@Garagetopics I got you lol. I actually already have a $500 hard top tri-fold bed cover on my Tundra now, I just like the one you had better due to it being even more low profile. Anyways thanks for the info and keep up the good content.
Let me buy that thing! Please!
Tell me you getting tundra 2023 tdr pro
I wish! I love the new Tundras, want them to be cheaper first
Sorry you're a nice guy, but I only started watching your videos because of the 1st gen Tundra. I upgraded my 2001 toyota tundra sr5 4wd access cab for around $300. doing the work myself. I think many own their Toyoda's for life like a commented relationship, but I understand some people make a living selling them.
1st gen truck AC!
What’s your back cover?
Bakflip, bought it used
Why do you switch cars so often?
Is 3.5 years too frequent?
Basically the same frame geometry.
🥺
Hoping to have a Toyota back in my life soon
pick up a 2006-2009 4th gen 4runner v8 limited or a 1999-2000 3rd gen 5 speed 4x4
So funny it’s listed for sale in AZ for 20k
That it is. Could be yours!
@@Garagetopics sold my 2016 tundra for a l5p duramax lol saw your gen 1 raptor video and now want to trade again 🤣
Land Cruiser , 1st gen Sequoia or a lexus gx470
Spoiler alert- I want a fzj80 real bad
At least the Ex cab.
First gen tundra buy it
5.7 In a 1st gen tundra
The first gen Tundra is the mid gen Taco.
