I like how this entire scene is being used by The Doctor as a means of escape. He uses his moment of singing as a way to get the ball rolling, then having Ruby takeover so he can formulate a plan, and then coming back in to subtly tell Ruby his plan while ending the song. …or maybe The Doctor decided he wanted to show the Master and the Toymaker weren’t just the only ones who could do spontaneous song and dance.
I was not expecting this Guy to knock it out of the park like this- but HOLY CRAP- HE slayed the role-(staying true to the character) on top of he can bust a move AND carry a tune all while making my heart melt on the spot- completely off gaurd. 😮 This guy is INCREDIBLE. (TO the people in charge of casting- 👏 👏 👏 👏 💯)

Well I don’t remember any of the recent villains sings. I do recall the Master (the power of the doctor) and the Toy Master (the Giggle) danced. So my head cannon is the doctor saw that and was like hey I can do better and decided to start trying to one up them. Or maybe the doctor’s thought process is that evil people dance so maybe good people sing.
I think this is a good moment for the 15th Doctor. He plays along with the enemy of the day, keeps focus on the way to get out of danger, and the companion survives.
I believed Tennant was my Doctor but now I know I was waiting for him. This doctor sounds like he is genuinely surprised by the unknown and not in a "omg I don't know it" but "omg this is new to me" and I love it!!!

People are butt hurt that the dark, brooding, melodrama of Moffat's era is finally gone. We got rid of the lens flares and cinematic lighting, we got rid of The Doctor always looking sad and grumpy. We got the fun back!! Wahoo!!
See now I really thought that I was gonna hate this episode because I haven’t been a big fan of what RTD has done since he’s been back. Sat down to watch this on Christmas Day and genuinely enjoyed every single moment of the episode. It actually surprised me how much fun I was having.

I did not like his character in Sex Ed so I was pretty apprehensive when he was chosen as the Doctor. He’s great though. He’s already established as the Doctor in my mind. I’m getting 11 vibes from him but without the heavy weight of the years 11 had.

Although I did notice that while the character was as curious and eager for life as ever he was more thoughtful about things. I never watched the Christmas special due to bad reviews but I must be honest I really like this scene. It’s fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
As much as I hate the whole storyline of goblins eating babies, I love how this shows what a great companion Ruby is. Just jumps in and starts singing, manages to rhyme, and is successful at the goal to distract the goblins.

Hey - people are complaining it is 'Cheezy'! Rubbish - it was GREAT. Ncuti can sing and dance,,,,,why not involve in an episode - especially a Christmas story.....they always do silly things!
I never watched the Christmas special due to bad reviews but I must be honest I really like this scene. It’s fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
It’s great. Loved it. Ncuti Gatwa came out swinging.

As much as I hate the whole storyline of goblins eating babies, I love how this shows what a great companion Ruby is. Just jumps in and starts singing, manages to rhyme, and is successful at the goal to distract the goblins.

Love this episode such a real feel good festive episode. And I love is the Doctor going to give a deep long speech to the Goblin King. Nah respect him and sing instead :D loved it
this scene would have madde more scence if it came at a point, where the doctor and Ruby are more of a well trained team.
