Thanks so much for this video and for providing me with the files that I needed! My chair stopped working a year ago and come to find out it was my joystick which I replaced but the new joystick wouldn't work because it needed to be programmed and I didn't have a programmer and there are no local healthcare supply shops here in Cancun, Mexico where I live that service Invacare wheelchairs, so your video was vital to helping me program my new controller and get me back on the road again. As a footnote I was able to use 2GB regular (non-HC) SD card with no problem. Thanks again.

I cant remember if i mentioned that in the video or not.. it causes an insane fault loop that can lock you out of any future programming!!

Another hint (i'm a powersoccer player), i would recommend you to use the 3rd profile as it is the most accurate and responsive profile. You don't have to but that can help. And the difference can be seen on invacare powersoccer chairs as tdx sp or storm 3/storm 3 ffh.

Would you mind sharing the steps to turning the Basic to a Pro? I have a 'basic' MK6i card in hand.
My mom has a TDX SP with that controller that needs to be made really slow on the indoor mode as she has major issues controlling it. She often steers in the wrong direction and accelerates when she needs to stop.

yea patreon is kinda strange.. they bill everyone on the 1st.. no matter when they sign up.. guess its easier for them or something.. but if someone signs up on the 3rd, for example, they wont be billed till the 1st of the NEXT month. seems unnecessarily confusing to me.. and it can't be changed.

I have a Amy alltrack M3. I gouges extremely slow . I am sure it was used as rehab chair. How can i remove speed limiter? This chair only goes about 1.5 or 2mph. It has the 4 pole motors
Dude, I just got my rovi reprogrammed yesterday and I already want to speed it up... He set my forward speed to 85% and said I wouldn't be able to handle anything faster... He don't know me too well, do he..... 😆

Looks like you were having too much fun showing offlol. Seriously though, i have a Quickie QM 710- no ssd card port, but wondered if there was a way to change the parameters with out having the external comptroller that can be plugged into the charging port(on this chair, i only know of the one port on the joystick- facing out under the box.). I believe those chairs are R-net powered.. so you have to have a handheld, dongle and computer, OR there is an on board programming mode.. some sunrise chairs have it enabled by default (maybe 10% of them) here's a link on how to check if your chair is enabled or not... r-netoem.blogspot.com/2019/09/on-board-programing.html

rovi is mostly R-Net - so its similar to permobil, quickie, and amysystems for programming.. see if you can get them to enable "On Board Programming" before they deliver it! (FYI they will probably say no.. but its worth a shot!)

I just replaced my mk6 i but doesn't have to option for me to select tilte/leg /elevat do i need to program it it only has the 1-4 drive
with a new joystick, the settings arent retained.. does the old joystick still work? might be able to connect it back to chair long enough to pull a backup from it. ive added links to all the software in the description :^)

hey! i haven't personally dealt with that error before.. BUT people have told me on their chairs when parts or joysticks get swapped out, that error can happen. usually they were able to git it going by using a programmer and enabling the correct default settings.. is there a nearby dealer that could look at the chair for you?

A friend asked me to help him with an Invacare wheelchairs (in my city there are no chair technicians). His old chair was damaged by the scoters and he wants to use this new one, the problem is the configuration of the MK6-NXC joystick and the DK-PMC28 controller, I was able to format an SD card to be able to load some codes, but the joystick sends the error message "ctrl inhibited", and I don't know what to do anymore.
Can you help me with the Professional SD Card too?

My father's wheelchair got miscalibrated with seat angles. Does this method allow you to reset the internal program's seat recline angle?
Currently it's reclined all the way back but the program thinks it's all the way upright and we're not able to get the seat in a default upright position.
I've been working with a wheelchair repair service but it feels like they're just totally taking advantage of us. They are charging $185 for every time they visit regardless of fixing the chair or not. They said they needed to "assess" and now they're ordering a programmer to change the angle and charging another $240 without any certainty of fixing.
They are the only service that will come to take a look/attempt to fix his chair.
Extremely frustrating as my father is quadriplegic and can't move around the house in his TDX SP, but I came across this video and would very much like to see if this would be an option.
invacare used a LOT of different seating systems - its hard to tell offhand what could be causing the issues.. and the programmers arent always able to do anything - many of the seating systems didnt actually integrate into the chair's electronics. but its good to check the basics and just visually inspect all the wiring, look for connectors that may have come loose, or pinched/damaged wires etc..
It looks like the new 2019 versions of these stick are being shipped with version 2.4.13 that looks to be incompatible with the HHP. The new stick his the SD card slot closed/screwed over/removed.
yea - someone sent me a message about that earlier today... i hate stuff like this!! why lock it down?? invacare chairs all use different handhelds.. ya gotta have a whole toolbox full of HHP's to adjust any of the chairs :^/
I just purchased a 2017 Torque 3 which is on its way. It appears to have a joystick like you describe with the SD card slot covered by a bar screwed over. My current wheelchair, 2010 4 pole Arrow has the joystick with the SD card slot accessible like the video. Could I just buy an older joystick like my Arrow for the Torque 3? And can I copy the same file from my Arrow to the Torque 3 as a start point?
I'm not sure about compatibility of the newer chairs BUT its generally not a good idea to try and copy settings from model of chair, onto another. the same settings usually have VERY different results on different hardware... its more work.. but starting from the chair's base programming is usually the best way to go :^)

Love your channel & I was looking for info on my FDX Invacare chair so figured you might have some info. I'm trying to find out how to override the drive lock out. Do you know anything about that? My chair is 9 yrs old & I needed to replace the control/joystick. There's a recycle wheelchair place near me & they replaced it but as soon as I tilt it goes into drive lock out & I can't drive it unless I'm tilted back a bit because I'm a quadriplegic. They did some fiddling with it but it still goes into lock out at times. It's so frustrating because I replaced it a couple of years ago & I needed them to override the lockout & after that it was fine. How they expect a quad to drive down a ramp without tilting back is crazy to me. Sorry for the long post but if anyone knows anything about this I thought you might.
theres a few different ways to deal with the lockouts (outside of programing) depending on the chair, and the control systems it has.. send me a DM on twitter, and with a few photos we might be able to help figure it out! usually i look for the little micro-switches under the chair and adjust them so they dont trip -
invacare typically uses a tilt sensor.. sometimes you can re-adjust the angle of the sensor to make an adjustment.. but you have to be careful doing that, as you might get it stuck in the lockout mode!

after looking up the FDX, (which i should have done before lol), turns out programing is your only option when it comes to changing the speed/drive inhibitors on that chair... :^/
I talked to another tech there who came out & your right he had to program it & know I'm all set. I don't get why the other tech didn't know how to do this, he was here for almost 2 hours trying to figure it out talking to go Invaders tech support! The other guy came plugged that programmer thing & it took 2minutes tops!! Geezz😬

I just bought a used chair just like this for my mother who is 83 years old, it was really taken well care of but for some reason the tires lock up and it barely has any speed on the carpet? do you have any idea why this could be happening and when the tires lock up the little wrench comes on in the display

I'm in a manual wheelchair and thought it was going to be ready for me to plug in and have my electric chair but nope not yet
Currently having issues with tdx sp and the seat's mercury switch, resulting in unwanted drive slow down or lock out. Do you know where in the settings we can disable the mercury switch altogether?
easiest fix for that, find the angle switches, and loosen the mounting screws, and change their angle a tiny bit at a time till the problem goes away. theyre usually low mounted on the seat back, or sometimes under the seat pan.. (or both) theyre little black cylinders maybe 1/2" in diameter and maybe 1" long or less, and have a wire coming outta them. typically mounted with a clamp and a single bolt/screw. just make note and take a pic of their original positions - maybe mark with a sharpie, and make SMALL adjustments. if none of that is an option, use the contact form on website (link below) and i can get ya the files to make a programming card. FYI not all invacare chairs have the seating integrated into the chairs electronics directly.. so sometimes changing settings via the SD card wont have any effect. but if it were me, id hunt down the sensors and adjust them a bit :^)

As for adjusting the angles, it has been working perfectly, but noticed today that I was locked out, then in slow, then to green ready status when tilted down much lower than normal. Could we simply disconnect the switches altogether? Seems like they could be malfunctioning. I know they are there for safety but if we can outright disable them, that'd be great. :)
yup! they can be removed.. BUT you'll have to figure out if they're on a normally open, or closed circuit. simply unplugging them may result in permanent slow mode.. might have to connect the wires together. all depends on how the chair is setup. no way to know without trying
@@TotallyNormal- I see, very helpful! We'll peak around and try to locate them. I'm not even sure what seating system is even on here, but it's got tilt, recline, lift and power legs. I'm sure we can figure it out, I do have an mk6 programmer to mess with too.
@@TotallyNormal- Success! We found that my seating system is from Motion Concepts and located a "tipsy angle sensor." We've got it angled way past the default position now and I have much more freedom! Btw, I may be interested in a professional sd card from you if your offer still stands.
I tried to sd read my chairs program and for a second it shows "reading sd and then it goes to the drive screen. Any idea why it's showing me something different?

i haven't played around with that setting yet in an invacare chair.. theres a number of different seating systems, that a lot of times they have their own controllers.. sooo short answer.. probably.. but how.. not sure :-/
sometimes its easier to find the lockout signal wire.. or switch, and bypass it manually..
Totally Normal Hi, I have a TDX SP chair as well with tilt and elevation. However, recently my tilt position was at 26 degree and was locked out (drive lockout). Therefore cannot operate the chair unless I plug out the cables on the actuator? Can you help me? My only wheelchair and without it makes life hard..
theres many different configurations on those chairs that are all completely different.. the best option is to find a dealer or shop in your area - they should be able to adjust or program your chair. good luck!
@@TotallyNormal- Very vital info given! I inherited a 20-year old "Pass It Forward" Storm tdx3 which now is needed by a family friend's mother. With new batteries installed, the controller screen shows an error code of ATT. The controller looks so well-used that it itself made need to be replaced. With me being a greenhorn neophyte to motorized wheelchairs, just running across your videos was a real eye opener.
I have the exact same chair and it is stuck in slow mode. Having trouble finding technician in my area. Would you have any ideas to help?
did it start suddenly one day? sometimes the seating position 'sensors' can get knocked out of alignment and cause that to happen.. they're usually mounted on the backrest frame, and/or also under the seat pan, and attached with a bolt - if one got bumped, or came loose it might be the culprit
Bought it this way. Has 3 drive modes for inside. I think it is just adjusted slow for the last guy that was using it.

Under the tab: "Calibrations", there is an option for "Drive Configuration". The wrong config will make it drive totally wrong. What model chair?

most larger SD cards have compatibility issues.. BUT sometimes they work! try formatting the SD card with "FAT" if it doesn't work (as opposed to fat32) and make sure the card has no name as well. hit me up on twitter with with a DM if ya need help- good luck!

OMG. New find in the documentation. Although the overall "SPEED" setting is limited.....There is an "11" dial on the MK6i. The setting 2nd down from the top is "Response". Response is an overall multiplier. Muahahah. Response can go up to 200. MIDPOINT is 100.

Excellent Video! We just modified an Invacare TDX SI (MK6I) into a greenhouse trolley and find the turning a bit speedy into the narrow plant rows. Can you send me the SD card or even better the files to put it on a clean SD card? Happy to pay. Can we communicate by email? Cheers.

I need a an Arrow Gear-less Brush-less right motor. Its dying & they no longer make them. Screw Invacare. Now i'm trying to decide on an Amy Hybrid or Mid Permo. before this chair dies.
I haven't seen any of the newer amy systems stuff...I'm sure its still decent quality... and permobil is always a good bet....
invacare has kinda been all over the place.. a few decent products, and a lotta garbage LOL

Thanks for the reply. Numotion said they will install a used motor on my chair if I can find one. I'll be testing a Permo soon. I'm not used to mid wheel & I may just force myself to use one.
Too bad they don't have SD card for quantum 6 edge unless it has it hidden somewhere. I'm wanting to open up the turning speed. Its too slow.
yea.. invacare is the only brand i know of that utilized the SD card programming method...
