    Very informative. These cars are quite good, and don't need to be babied if you know what you're doing. Something else you can add for reliability is an engine oil cooler, by default they are designed to run their engine oil at very high temperatures (100+ celsius) so with our hot climate, driving hard can cause engine problems. Also, use only high-torque CVT fluid on all turbo DITs, and replace it the moment the car arrives from Japan.

      Good insights Luide. Yes, forgot to highlight the oil cooler. Its very important.

      Forester better if going offroad because of AWD. it's not clear which engine we are talking about in the CX5. For more information call 0790364599

    The review is impressive and learnt so much about the unit it gives you detailed information on what to expect when purchasing the same. The car needs proper care and caution when handling. In my view though drowned between a Subaru and other units I would Go for Cx5 instead of a an Xt.

      Well. This car needs so much care and caution.
      Maybe you'll go for the CX5 because it is has a lower price tag and maintenance costs. Otherwise, the Forester is the better car.

      I bought fuel system cleaner from Toyota kenya, filled up the tank and then once fuel was at 2 blocks, I put in fuel tank catalytic system cleaner and drove for 40kms and then filled up the tank and it worked very well on my forester SJG. Got better mileage and smooth running of the engine.

    Nice review. Just understand better, what do you mean by premium fuel? Is it like V-Power or do you mean making sure one fuels from reputable petrol stations that sell clean fuel?

    • @patton3338
      @patton3338 10 месяцев назад +3

      It varies by country, but generally anything 91 Octane and above. Here in Australia it's 95. Octane is not a measure of quality, it is a measure of the compression needed before the fuel ignites. Any car with a high compression engine, such as a turbo, wants the higher octane fuel so the pressure can build, otherwise it will cause pre-ignition of the fuel. That's bad for performance, fuel economy, and will put heaps of wear on the engine. Any car's manual should tell you what to use.

    My Subaru Tribeca is anything but a crap - high maintenance, poor mileage. Spent almost the cost the car since 2018. Not worth it.
    Looking to get rid of it soon. Will never ever buy a Subaru. Their interiors are bland and have no hybrid in their lineup. Pathetic in 21st century.
