You are arguably the best car reviewer I've seen. Good job Bruuv
Good piece team and thank you for sharing.
We learn alot from you always.

Yeeeah.... pole pole and the machine will pick. And your relation story was very relevant, thank you bro for golden episodes
Totally agree with your comments 14:55 - 16:00. The forester XT FA20 (SJG) can be a scary car to drive if one is not VERY VERY careful. The throttle response is highly aggressive even in the 'I' drive mode. This car is not meant for newbie drivers or any driver who cannot handle big boost acceleration. For me, I have to remind myself always when driving this car to just accelerate gently otherwise I have found that pressing the throttle even mildly on this car accelerates the car so fast it's unnerving. Legendary Subaru WRC rally driver Tommi Makinnen test drove the XT in 2014 (Turini, France) when it was launched in a project called ForesterLIVE and even he noted that the acceleration on the XT made it "very very fast for an SUV" in fact he also said that the XT is 'two different cars packed in one package.' Hence beauty and beast in one car
Awesome stuff as always 🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪
blowby takes place when the piston rings are worn out or liner is worn out (no horning marks) allowing the exhaust gas to escape to the crankcase, hence less power of the engine.
Thank you Erick!
Salute...ur content makes a lot of sense
Thank you
This was awesome...can you do a similar review for Nissan? Esp Tiida...I feel like it's quite underrated
Can someone please educate me. From this review, save for carbon build up the levorg wouldn't be a bad purchase? Right? The other issues involve tuning and that's optional or did get Mr CK wrong?
Salute to Wokabi and your entire team ... I have learnt alot from this channel

Thank you for the support bro, we shall definitely look into it
Wacha kutulemea that we can't get technical explanations! That is what some of us thrive on. Can you give a review on Subaru Outback and Peugeot 3008
as long as there is solution no need to worry on that carbon build up.good service and it will serve you well
Great work
Nice review bro...
Quick question... Error P0170 system too lean (Bank 1). Recommended fix for an SH5 forester. 2000cc
Theres a nice place behind kasarani stadium a 5km loop and traffic is almost ay 0%
Thats why love my Crosssport turbo SG5
@ least the SG5 turbo is accommodative, much less "SUMBUA" ..😁😁
You can do your reviews..next to Karasani Stadium..on the road to where WRC was hosted.
Nice I will check it out thanks
I have a Mazda 323 cabullabor engine what engine is suitable for a gud performance low fuel consumption
Some good content especially everything is made Interesting
Good pointers. Though another critical one that you left out is that these cars MUST run on clean VPower ONLY. Even when you check the user manual (which most don't come with, grey import) Subaru recommends 95 Octane MINIMUM for their turbocharged models. VPower's major use isn't "engine cleaning and more speed" as most people think. It actually prevents premature detonation/knock on high compression engines ie. turbocharged models.
And even with that a tune is also needed because the octane levels are still not as high as Japan for premium fuel.
@@mbuguanjoroge1525 kindly refer to someone who knows how to tune Subaru forester SJG. Thanks
Shell VPower octane level 91, Totals Excellium Octane levels 89.........
Learnt about the premature detonation this year.....😐
@@jkaduda those are just figures on paper if you were actually to do a test you will find the octane levels much lower.
Nice review. Very informative. Keep up the good work. Would be curious to hear your thoughts about EJ series vs FB series engines.
I brought my Mazda familia 2002 to Sule and he suggested the same.. itabidi nikuje tusafishe carbon
Hey Eric
Tell me more about subaru exiga
Awesome content👍
Thank you
Erick, you forgot to mention the CVT on these cars.
when he talks about the forester hapo kwa the last part, does it also include the Sg5? Someone, to clarify?
And with the carbon build up, please please @erick with a CK, please give us a dose of fuel additives and 'engine cleaning' additives.
What's your take on the outback 3.6R?
Can adding octane help with carbon build up?
GOOD work Erick, tho i recomend you use more english than Swahili, you have audience far and wide beyond Kenya
Once you get yourself a DIT sub first thing is to get a safe tune for local fuel and save yourself from alot of stress, cvt ni bahati yako tu not yet experienced problems with mine, hapo kwa rack just be ready for anything, but overall a powerful machine and stick to Vpower ama utakula character development ya kimataifa
Good insight carnversologist approved
Kabisaaa💯
Bro who does safe tuning of dit forester?
@@nurezdawood8363 a 'safe tune' is basically a detune and remap for local low octane fuel Ile design ata uende kichaka haina Vpower you will be okay local tuners like Chris Paul, KJtuned, Pntuned can do that
Alafu hizi DIT engines nikiweka fuel ya huko kajiado, loitokto areas kuna issue? Yani can it take regular fuel ama only the premium high octane vpower and the likes?
Some SH5 XT have the EJ20 like mine, what do you say on the same.
I think carbon build-up happens in all direct injection engines....not only Subarus.
any turbo car just fuel Vpower
That why I love the sf5's
Kabisa!!..a whole lot less domestics..👌👍👍
Cool Stuff brother....
Hello...how is impreza gg2 1500cc as first car?

What of the Exiga 2.0 GTI Turbo..? 2009 versions..
I really like to hear about Subaru Exiga..
please do a review for prados eg d4d,tx
The carbon build up seems to be common among all turbo charged vehicles. These cars require high quality fuel to produce the power given they come with smaller engines. The problem is a lot of our fuel is low RON. Rarely is it as marketed by the various franchises who claim its 94 RON for regular. You will find these cars will work well in Europe and Japan but when they land in Kenya 2 years later they have issues..
Recommended ratings is 95 RON and for some 99RON. How we avoid such issues is using quality fuel, recommended is V Power...However we still have cases where V Power is even worse than regular fuel due to oxidation....You should do one review of fuel in Kenya .
Good insight there bro, as much this is true the issues related to the cars mentioned have been experienced worldwide, uniquely to Subaru but when it comes to majority of other cars your information is true and factual
This issue of low quality fuel in Kenya is a myth. Kenya imports processed fuel from the world market. We don’t refine our own fuel. What we get is what most of the world is getting. Unless you buy adulterated fuel from some nondescript fuel station. Secondly the major reason Kenyans get a lot of issues with majority or vehicles whichever model is that we don’t follow manufacturer recommended service schedule and perform the recommended services by the manufacturer. Most Kenyans think changing oil, filters, spark plugs and break pads tires and maybe injectors is all that is needed. As your vehicle accumulates mileage the more intrusive services it will need which entails replacing major components which majority of Kenyans don’t do, hence a lot of cars dumped in jua kali garages.
What do you recommend for forester DIT? V-power or unleaded?
@@JosephSika my concern is the handling, not what we get at the port. Either too much exposure to oxygen or even moisture. These are among issues that make fuel go bad.I belong to a car club and every other week we always have cases where after fueling someone is getting Misfires and a check engine
@@nurezdawood8363 I'm sure it's good with any quality regular fuel based on the manufacturer recommendation .
Sometimes, it's better to buy a Subaru without the turbo. But they are very few here in Kenya.
Please review SG5/SF5/SG9
Subaru legacy 2012, it’s that a good car??
Great work, with a CK.
Clean the valve carbon build up every 48,000 km. To help slow down build-up, install an oil catch can to reduce the oil that gets burnt & produces that carbon.
On the high idle, it’s not just w/ the DIT. Even the EJ engines would idle at the same level, which is typical for a Subaru if you look at the factory maintenance worksheets guidelines. 1.5-2k revs at idle is normal behavior for a turbo Subaru. If it really bothers one, though, they can get an after-market ECU, which many don’t because it starts at $3,200 & requires expert hands to calibrate it correctly. But it’s been done well locally, so it’s possible if you have the cash to throw at it.
Oh, steering racks are not 90k. They’re $1,200 if you’re buying a new one. It was the SH that had the steering rack issue. The boots would wear out & leak at 100k. Due to its design, you couldn’t replace the boots separately. So, you had to buy an entire steering rack. Not because they were unreliable, just general wear & tear.
hapo pa ecu you dont need to pay for that .there are many tuners in kenya who can tune the car.you dont need to spend money on a new ECU.
Spot on @victor. I'd also add:
Sand/walnut blasting - carbon buildup cure.
Italian tuneup - "prevent or slow down" carbon buildup
Forged Conrods - alleviate bending.
Ps: I thought running lean saves you fuel, running rich uses more fuel.
@@wilm2389 a proper tune will help in giving the car proper fuel consumption as well
Fantastic insights, duly noted and appreciated
@@CARNVERSATIONS At one point we will do a review of turbo engines and expain how it should work and how a person should take care of those turbo engines
Good work sir, kindly review more on VW Passat blue motion, 1.4 engine, 2014 or 2015. when you decided not to shy away, and attempted you, said it should cover about 20km per day which is equivalent to a Mountain bike coverage per day.😂😂

I drive the Subaru Impreza Sport Limited 2012 with an FB20 Naturally Aspirated Engine. I have killed my CVT Gearbox Twice on simply launching the car. was told that even without tuning, my gearbox was too weak for the engine I use.
by launching you mean the aggresive acceleration from 0?
What about a subaru forester SG5 na SG9
Liqui moly injection cleaner.. Will do
Does the delay in accelation be caused by the engine throttle sensor
Sometimes it's causes by a clogged catalytic converter. Had mine replaced a few days ago, it was completely clogged, now the car drives like it's brand new.
What if you use ethanol? Can the carbon build up cease?
walnut blasting is what is mostly recommended.DIT engines have that main problem of carbon buildup.
Sooo.... Do some of the same issues mentioned affect Toyota turbo charged ones?.... Ama would the advice of getting a naturally aspirated subaru apply to Toyota cars?

So probably finish the explanation with the hard terms then afterwards simplify it for the layman to understand. Do not keep stopping halfway.

The issue with the engine, can one not do a remapping or is it not available in Kenya or wouldn’t fix the issue?

A good number of Sub owners often do some modifications to their vehicles to enhance performance. What's the impact of these modifications on the vehicle's reliability?
Heavily modifying a vehicle is at the expense of reliability..
@@CARNVERSATIONS indeed. And some of the mods don’t even improve performance but are done to intimidate other road users e.g. the dump valve with a fluttering sound.
