What I like about it is that is doesn't muddle the tones of my guitar like a tube screamer would. I usually keep the drive low which breaks up the clean tones nicely. Abolutely love this pedal.
Just recently picked up the guitar again and a good clean amp head as a pedal platform. EHX has become by default go-to, and this FiF pedal just cements that. Killer!
Why y’all always doin me like this?? I just bought myself a rat and THEN you come out with this, same thing happened with the Boss FRV-1 and the Oceans 11
But you can get both without any hurry! Everytime when i walk to my local store to order a pedal the salesman says: "oh this just went out of production, i can't get it anymore, you are doing this on purpose everytime!" and then i hurry home to probably still find one in an online store.
A little surprised by how clear the fuzz is. Some fuzz pedals will have that "hair" around it so you get some dirt in your sustain but this pedal can filter most of that out if you want. Great pedal.
Justin Whitener It really sounds like my EHX OP Amp Big Muff RI, which has the same clarity. I think the Flatiron is basically the same pedal, but with different OP amp chips, which work better with the filter.
Great tones, seems like a superb pedal. My favourite bit, though, came right at the end where - like all true musicians- the guys did the ”looking at each other pleased muppet head bob”.
You guys really should have demo some Lenny Kravitz 90s tunes with this. This pedal really nails his sound on songs like Fly Away and Are you gonna go my way. Nevertheless, this is a really versatile pedal and I love the sound. My wife is gonna be mad as hell when I buy another pedal, but she'll get over it. This one sounds like a winner!! Thanks for the review.
@@hobojoe8104 black Russian and green Russian are NOT the same circuit dude. Bass BM with the switch on normal is the Black Russian reissue, they already did it
@@EHX Aw come on.... did you even watch your own video? The bass tone at the end is outstanding.... but yeah, you need to mix in some dry signal... maybe you make a version with a wet/dry knob? :)
I'm gonna end up kicking every dam pedal off my board and filling it with all EHX stuff (except the Rubberneck which BARELY edged out the Memory Man/Boy). ...and I already have 3 EHX pedals on it. So my board will be 8-10 EHX and 1 DoD. ...aint that some shit! lol
I didn't understand any of that. Here's a simpler question: I have a solid state amp and want a good sounding fuzz tone, like this pedal. Is it preferable to use this with a tube amp or am I fine with my SS?
OpAmp = Operational Amplifier. It’s the part in the circuit which provides the volume boost, which in turn creates distortion when the “extra” volume gets crushed back down.
This pedal makes me want to start 90's cover band.
The low gain part was real neat man this could be my next overdrive
THE JOHN SCOFIELD SONG WAS A NICE SUPRISE, THIS PEDAL SOUNDS AMAZING!

Holy shit guys. This has to be one of the best pedals demos I've ever seen/heard. And what an outstandingly versatile Fuzz. just awesome

Sounds great. I really dig the filter. I’m still in love with my EHX OP Amp Big Muff RI ‘Pumkin Pi’.
Awesome song choice for the demo! Awesome pedal!
Played this yesterday at the shop. It kicks ass!!!
Nice job on the Scofield tune! All of the playing, actually.
Yes! I was just wondering how the Flatiron substutitutes for the Rat for that classic Scofield Rat tone. It did wonderfully.
man that bass at the end sounds face melting !
Hear me out:
Flatiron + Green Russian = Perfect Stoner/Doom tone!
Love this pedal! 🔥
On my want list for sure! Nice mix of material on the video. That last groove y’all locked in on was rad!
I really like the Flatiron! Thanks guys! So much sustain .... unbelievable 👍👍👍
Absolutely crushing it lads, what a brilliant pedal
That last song. WOW.
EHX's take on Hot Cake please
Great tones, seems like a superb pedal. My favourite bit, though, came right at the end where - like all true musicians- the guys did the ”looking at each other pleased muppet head bob”.
I put a Big Muff nano on my Christmas wish list. Now I want the Flatiron.
I bought an op-amp Big Muff Pi (the re-issue) for myself for Christmas last year. Great idea that was!

My fave fuzz pedal for guitar, used with East River Drive in front of it!
I'm a big fan of the low pass, makes it easy to clean up the hairiness without ruining your sound
Love the artwork!
Wow. All my life I read the building's name as the FlatRion!! First time I hear someone else pronounce it. 🤯
I dont need a fuzz or another od but I like the way its not as thick as most Today .Nice Tone.
*_WEENIE BEENIE_*
!!! hell yes I'm buying this pedal. !!!
Love the pickguard on the Strat!
That last tune was pure radge!
DAT SMOOTH SOUL/FUNK was smooth as... BUUUUTTTERRR!!!
Wow great sounding fuzz👍😀
Exactly what my pedalboard needs!
Sco! Nice tone, nice tune!
I would love to see more traditional distortions by EHX
This is nice, but I'm still hoping for the Black Russian and Ram's Head
bass big muff is the black russian
RhythmGrizz Black Russian and green Russian are the same circuit
I'd still just like the black enclosure
Lol

Legit tone right there!
Big fan of fuzz and the iconic Flatiron building, Santa 🎅??
Excellent pedal! I already use the big muff and let me tell you that you guys never dissapoint! 😁😁😁
This pedal sounds Sick 🤘😝
Did you say it's a little brighter than a RAT? I'd have to play one myself to give that claim more context, but RATs are more than bright enough IMO.
Filter control takes you where you want.
Want that 6-string bass
feel free to email wattersonguitars@gmail.com and we can get started on a custom build ;)
Finally 🙏🙏🙏
holy shit i need this
I get the same tone using a distortion pedal for bass
If my Triangle Muff reissue finds out I am watching this its game over. It will break her beautiful circuit.
Jake show your Triangle some extra love tonight!
@@EHXI will definently do that Keep up the amazing work gentlemen! Thank you for all these amazing pedal reissues.

Suitable for bass too?

WOOOO HOOOOO
Why is it named after the Flatiron Building? Because EJX is based in NY, or is there some significance to that building, specifically?

Can I play Satisfaction by the Stones with it?
I would use this one for that:

Is it a silicon or germanium?
silicon
