I'd love to hear a comparison between your other Rats and the Flatiron. I'd also like to hear it compared to some muffs. I think that type of video could be very popular.
Nice demo! Really great doing the knobs with a looped section. Would’ve like to hear a little more with the filter, rolled back, which is how I use the rat. Otherwise, brilliant!
Nice fuzz which has something to offer in the mid department. Does your guitar have linear vol pot? Doesn't seem that it does much from 10 to 3 to the driven sound.
Did you end up doing the comparison video with this and the Rat? I didn't see it. Trying to decide on what to buy... Also considering a Splinter, but I already have the OD Glove and thought, maybe I could get away with sticking to EHX pedals... But I want something close to the Rat, and this seems pretty far off from the Rat, to my ears. Almost like a tamer Rat. Coulda called it the EHX Mouse.
TheGuitarGeek absolutely. You have a unique approach that is completely you - honest, open, friendly and accessible. I wasn’t surprised about how your camera guy described you at NAMM. Keep going.
Big fuzz and rat lover here, but honestly don't think this sounds any better than average. Bit of an identity crisis if you ask me... Doesn't compare to a rat or a big muff. Electro Harmonix often have this problem, like with the metal muff for example. I feel this one sounds a touch too fizzy and just not excellent.
Grit (or whatever you want to call that sort of breakup) is generally a desired sonic attribute in a fuzz pedal. That same sonic attribute suddenly becomes the always pejorative “fizz” when one, for whatever reason, decides not to like a pedal.
I love the idea of running the looper into the pedal and changing the settings as it repeats!
Thanks! I do with all my pedal demos
@@TheGuitarGeek This is such an essential part of your demos, in my opinion. For the life of me, I don't know why every reviewer does this.
Electro Harmonics 360? 1440? Awsome loopers!!! Will as also play loops backwards
I've had the Flatiron fuzz for about a month. Fantastic pedal, I love it.
@@ronkerns4645 why did you get rid of IT?
Great review; just ordered this pedal. Good to know that I will love it. Subbed! Yes, I do love this fuzz pedal!!!!
That sounds damn good. Less fuzz to me. More like a super crunchy 90s tone. Like a perfect Lenny Kravitz pedal. I'm going to buy it. Thanks!
This is a perfect style of review- genius, and I love it.
Thank you.
I also prefer the Flatiron to the RAT, it's warmer and seems to have more bass, more like Big Muff Pi or Russian. Great job.
Quite a variety of tones. Will definitely check this one out. Thanks for the video.
I think it is a keeper!

On it’s way man!

Great video and love the playing. Came here from the Fuzztopia forum. Gave you a thumbsup too. Cheers
Hey thanks man. Fuzz rules.
A quality geeky review!! Love my Rat so I need to try the Flatiron!! Cheers Andy!!
Ben Coombs you’re welcome Ben! I love mine so I need to put them against each other
I’m not a Fuzz Fan either but that certainly is a special one 👍
Not a fuzz fan??? I’m not sure we can remain friends.... 😛
😂😂
I've had it for about two months. Boosting it with a sd1 or ts9 makes a huge difference.
I haven’t tried that! Thanks for the tip
Great demos as always brother!
Thank you brother
I've had mine for a few weeks and I love it! I use my crayon or tubescreamer to boost it.
Great idea! The pedal has rocked my world
Nice demo.
Sounds cool. Keep saying Zed. It’s music to my Canadian ears (we say it that way too).
Put your baritone through it and let’s see if it gets doomy.
Your Canadian ears are as beautiful as Canada itself, however Zed sounds like the name of an alien from a 1960's B movie.
"Zed? Zed is dead baby"- Pulp Fiction.
I am definitely an alien. More 70's creature Feature type than 60's.
I feel sorry for all the American kids that want to go to the Zoo but get taken to the Seaside instead...
Nice video! If you decrease the volume of your guitar the sound cleans up? I mean, when Flatiron is on high saturation. Tks!
Loving the Flatiron Fuzz?
Nice fuzz which has something to offer in the mid department. Does your guitar have linear vol pot? Doesn't seem that it does much from 10 to 3 to the driven sound.
tastedcutlet I don’t think so. I will check it out

Great review Love the pedal
Skeet Schuler cheers man
Hey man, great video but you didn’t upload the Flat vs Rat or the Flat vs Muff comparisons ... can you please do those?
yes mate. for sure
Great review. BTW, using a looper to demo a pedal is a brilliant idea.
Hey man! Thanks. Yeah, loopers are for the win!
can you message me again? I need to get that katana mini out to you and I have lost your message...
TheGuitarGeek Sure.
USING A LOOPER PEDAL!!!! This IS HOW to do a PROPER pedal DEMO!!!!! Thank You!!!!! TGG!!! Dan Gibbs :)
Ever got around to doing the vs RAT2?
killer intro man
Thank you!
Hi Waldo! Found you!!
🎸N⚡️I💎C⚡️E🎸
Cheers!
Thanks!
For what it does, I agree that it's better than RAT, but RAT is essentially the Swiss knife of dirt and you can't beat that, especially for the price.
Sounds Groovy. I might get one. See if you can get the Wampler Fuzztration for a demo.
Will do!
@@TheGuitarGeek cool thanks bro
That is SERIOUSLY kickass!!
I assume you've already started on the rat comparison. If not why not?!?
Of course... it’s already edited... the answer is..... WATCH THIS SPACE
Good man!
Want to see the rat comparison video!
On its way!
Who needs Andy Demos when Andy demos?
You’re twisting my melon, man
Ha! Well I did think the opening was Andy like and then the word play was too good not to drop the gag. That said there's room both for sure. 👍.
More than enough room I hope!
TheGuitarGeek absolutely. You have a unique approach that is completely you - honest, open, friendly and accessible. I wasn’t surprised about how your camera guy described you at NAMM. Keep going.
Thanks man. I paid Arunas a lot.... 😂
Sounds good and nice demo but the RAT is still alive and well
I agree. I think there is room for both
@@TheGuitarGeek the customary thing to do when being paid a compliment is to thank them. ; 0
Imapov Soru my apologies. I missed the compliment. I may come across as insincere now but thank you
@@TheGuitarGeek You're very welcome. You see when we behave like well programmed robots everything functions best ; )
I need more fuzz in my life. I lack the space for a pedalboard so I'll be furiously trying to contact fuzziness on the Katana. :)
Fuzz is so hard to model or create digitally. There are also SO many flavours.
@@TheGuitarGeek You mean that I might need to go out and buy an actual real pedal?
Noooooooo!!!
Actually. That's not such a scary idea really. :)
How's the foot switch? Last ehx I touched had a terribly hard one.
Seems like it does sounds
Budget PedalChap it also does more sounds and less sounds. Depends on the settings. It can also do no sounds if you don’t plug it in. Very versatile
I didn't know Hugh Laurie played guitar.
Everybody lies...
Have you wver used the Carcosa? If so, how did it compare?
Hi chad. I haven’t used the carcosa.yet but it’s on. My list
Carcosa is a very good fuzz! And versatile!!!!
Sounds more Big Muff and less RAT to my ears.
I like the Rat too, just wish it had been made by Roland^^ \m/
cliveclive54 and then a mini version... Kevin the hamster
Hahaha lmao Andy \m/
Pink bucket
I really like that sound and I don't normaly like fuzzes go figure. I bet it would Kick my EH 44mag amp right "square wave" in the balls :D
Poo Ninja I definitely prefer this
What is the tan guitar with the p-90's just over your left shoulder! Thank you
I think you mean the Antigua burst squier baritone Jazzmaster. Great guitar

I hear what you’re saying. Fuzz is life. I would really suggest you try this in the flesh. Works really well in a mix

This pedal is great but that's NOT a fuzz, that's a RAT dist
Should of kept their mouths shut about it being a rat. It's better sounding.
Sounds nothing at all like the Rat.
@Purple Haze I know right I don't get it either.
