- A few months ago we met the Thai British F1 driver Alex Albon at an event and invited him to go out and try some Korean food. Alex is one of only 20 Formula One drivers in the world, and is ranked amongst the very best drivers on the grid. He’s driven for Toro Rosso, Red Bull and most recently for Williams. During the mid-season break he took time out of his busy schedule to meet us at one of my favourite London BBQ spots for some food and a chat.

몇달 전에 저희가 어떤 행사에서 태국계 영국 F1 레이싱 선수 알렉스 알본님을 만나뵈었는데요. 한국 음식을 소개해드리고 싶어서 언제 꼭 식사 대접하고 싶다고 말씀드렸죠. 참고로, 알렉스 님은 전 세계에서 20명에게만 주어지는 ' 포뮬러 원 드라이버' 라는 타이틀을 갖고 계실뿐만 아니라 그 중에서도 거의 탑급인 선수시죠. 토로 로쏘, 레드불 팀을 거쳐 현재는 윌리엄스 소속으로 뛰고 계신데요. 이번에 시즌 중에 잠깐 공백이 생긴 틈을 타, 특별히 저희를 위해 시간을 내주셔서 제가 가장 좋아하는 고깃집에 모시고 가서 식사하며 이야기를 나누게 되었답니다.

What I love most about this is that Alex Albon made it clear very early on in his career that he HATED doing press. No interviews, no marketing, he just hated being paraded around to perform for people's pleasure. He made it a huge joke with Max Verstappen when he was at RB. He comments that he really doesn't like it, or the spotlight, which is completely fair. So, for me, it's actually amazing to see him actually do content but really truly enjoy himself at the same time. Like, he's actually doing something fun with an amazing, warm & kind host, and because of that you get so much cool inside info. Like, this is probably the best interview I've ever seen Albon do. It's awesome.
It wasn't an interview, marketing, or performance.
I guess he hates the media because they used to hound him about his mom. His mom defrauded a bunch of folks for millions and went to jail when he was very young.
That's why Josh has such great interviews. It's not an interview, it's a conversation over some really, really, really good food. XD
You don't see MattPat or Pewtie Pie interviewing Ryan Renolds, Will Smith, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

It’s really nice to hear when Alex mentioned Yuki about his future dream to own a restaurant. Their friendship is really sweet. You found a great friend when they mentioned your name, even mentioned your biggest dream to other people when you’re not right by their side’s.
The fact when Ollie said "it's much more achievable", I was like "Word, Ollie! WORDD!!!"
Not only that, but word of mouth is pretty important I wouldn't doubt that this gets passed around and then passed around for the right person to hear and a restaurateur/investor gets word and decides "hey, I'd like to invest in that."
Not only is Albon killing it at Williams this year but he gives the best interviews of anyone on the grid.

his interviews are so much more insightful and detailed......he doesn't generalize much and spout the same PR stuff that the other drivers do. Really makes him stand out among the lot.

I don't follow F1 racing and had never heard of Alex Albon before this video, but he is such a sweetheart and this interview was a pleasure to watch! I learned some interesting facts. Thank you Korean Englishman for inviting him, and to him for coming on the show!
There's a lot of drama in the sport. You'll probably like it. Hahaha! Alex is one of my favorite drivers (the others are Yuki Tsunoda, Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez and sadly he's not in the grid right now, baby Schumi himself, Mick Schumacher - but he'll be back like Alex!). A lot of them are nice people.
Alex is a good dude and hope hes in the sport for a good long time.

@@CLOPACIOUZZZ He's with a midfield team now but he's doing wonders on a car that isn't as upgraded as their richer counterparts. Based on what he's done for Williams, he's a very good driver.
That black british dude called lewis hamilton, a 7 world champions title holder, for your question regarding alex is good or nah ? i'd say he's very good, considering his team, williams was considered the weaker team and the weaker car, that's why people call them the 'black horse'. you'll be surprised what albon and william can bring on every races they went through. @@CLOPACIOUZZZ

I love this crossover!!! SO SO SO incredibly happy for Alex and his achievements as of late. His interview skills are so natural it's almost like he's not in "business" mode everytime he handles interviews.
Hope this could happen with the other F1 drivers and Seventeen!
Can we just say that Albon is one of the humblest drivers in the grid? You can see that he’s so real and genuine with what he feels. And also when his PR team said, 5 minutes left, and he went “that’s okay”. Such a great person!

Alex is just one of the nicest people. As an F1 fan, this video has made my day. I'm also certain if they call Yuki, he will come---he talks about food non-stop. Also can we talk about how they got to meet the King and Alex didn't!

For non F1 fans here - Alex Albon is one of the comedians of the F1 circuit. He's funny, friendly and very popular amongst other drivers (which means a lot). F1 is currently flush with funny guys, so sometimes the media interviews are more entertaining than the actual races!
If Alex ever wanted to be a F1 commentator, he'd kill it.

Alex Albon, and his sweet family were my favorite from the Netflix series. To see him here enjoying Korean BBQ with the crew, and living up to the wholesome image portrayed in the show is awesome.

I'm a big fan of the Williams team, and now that Alex Albon drives for them, he's become one of my favourites too!
I remember commenting once before that you should try to get Jack Aitken on the channel, as he has Korean heritage. I still think you should, it would be interesting!

The great thing about this channel, is that the formula of having people on, and introducing them to Korean food and culture, lends itself so well to learning about other cultures as well. You can have so many different guests, from so many different cultures, backgrounds and professions. The possibilities are endless. And with that, you are not only able to introduce Korean culture to others, but are in turn able to be introduced to different cultures as well. This is so amazing!
this was the first content ive seen with alex (first f1 content ive watched since like, the early 2000s) and hes now my fav driver in f1! thanks for inviting him and making him feel welcome, he seems to be enjoying himself throughout the video :)
Alex is a very likeable person. Him smiling and starting laughing after every bite reminds me of myself. You can truerly see how happy he gets tasting the food.

Always loved how he explained stuff, he knows how to put things in a simple concise manner for people to understand. He's one of my favourite drivers on the grid and the work he's doing in Williams now is absolutely stunning.

Honestly, I can't see Lance losing his seat any time soon when his dad owns the team. And besides, Alex and Williams are showing a genuine upward trajectory, so I don't expect he'd want to leave.

올시즌 초부터 응원하게 된 선수예요..월리엄스 레이스카의 경쟁력이 올라간 것도 사실이지만 그 성능을 200% 뽑아내어주고 있는게 알본인것 같아요. 선두권의 레이스에만 주목하다 중워권 싸움의 재미도 알게 해주고 있는 알본입니다. 짧아서 아쉽지만 여기서 이럼게 알본의 모습 볼 수 있어서 좋네여. 계속 응원하겠습니다

Alex Albon is honestly one of the most open hearted people on the grid. He wants to give his best/try everything not only in f1 but in everyday life as well. One of my fav drivers on the grid.
