You find yourself agreeing with the prophets in the opening cutscene of this mission when you realise the prophet’s honour guards were stopped by a couple of knocked over ceremonial torches.
13:20 I love my luck on these levels. Silver got a plasma pistol flood and an SMG flood, but I got a shotgun flood that would dome me when I sword lunged for him and his back-up was a rocket launcher flood.
If your having troubble doing the 5:46 jump to the pincer platform, ramp yourself off the slanted edge to the right of the opening your jumping from, it gives your jump a little bit more distance and hight, also do the jump in new graphics, you can see the windows hitbox better, godspeed laso runners!😈
Made the jump so easy for me, I actually overshot the landing once! I jumped off the ramp though, not some sliding jump like what was performed in The Oracle mission to skip some load zones.
"The gravity is weird with infection forms and half jaw, keep an eye on him" Just watched half jaw get launched into orbit at mach 5...I don't think he's coming back down Awesome vid!
In my case, he keeps getting launched right as a rocket flood appears, and he always ends up on the large structure on the other side of the arena... He will come back down, but probably not anywhere near you
Great guide! One tip I recommend for punching infection forms is to bait them into jumping at you, sidestep, and hit them as they hit the ground. I found it pretty consistent.
For the second enforcer fight on the gondola, you can hide your head through the wall under the door you're supposed to go through, similar to the Regret gondola ride. Walk into it for about 5 minutes and you can run through to the next piston.
Great advice, you don’t even have to crouch nor keep walking towards it, just press yourself against it once and just look almost all the way down for 5 minutes. Worth mentioning that once it opens, the door sends you flying away from it into the open for the multiple sentinels to kill you so be ready to camo as soon as it opens to reposition back to cover under the gondola and then camo again and go for the door. You don’t need that shorter step below the door, you can clear it with a crouch jump. Great finding my guy.
Did you know you can get 2 shields out of a flood if you shoot it with something like a sentinal beam and knock the arms off, then quickly backsmack it. You'll get shield for that and when you smash the body. Don't forget use the sentinals to help, just shoot a flood once to take off his invis and the sentinals will kill it. You can drstroy sentinal spawners.... They kinda blow up so you might only get half shield.
Just found out you can despawn the turrets if you place crates on where they spawn if you're worried about half jaw hopping on them and dont wanna dislodge him yourself
5:20 has a superior skip to the one proposed. Immediately turn right (without going far enough to trigger dialogue), slap a frag grenade in the corner, then jump backward off the explosion. You're aiming to launch yourself into a dark tunnel in the ceiling. This bypasses the entire flood corridor.
Halfjaw got launched up through the atmosphere (up where the air is clear) so many times at the end of this, it was pretty funny to watch, regarless that it was a bit annoying that I had to save/quit each time it happened. 20/46
I found a minor trick in prepping for the final arena - Put crates on the two plinths the turrets are based on. Physics will take over when they spawn, destroying them.
Excellent guide, wouldn't have made it as far as I have without these videos. I don't know if anyone else has encountered this issue but after saving and quitting a few times on this mission it stops working and sends me back to the start, even if I do it when I'm not dead. Either way, the grind continues!
7:00 'most difficult part of the mission' was far easier than the grenade jump i gave up on earlier. Just ran past the combat forms and camoed at the boxes, then just junped around to opposite side of the room and easily past them on the first go.
At 9:00 I recommend jumping up above. When the flood jump up there they just run in a straight line to you so its much easier to headshot/manage them. Although if you aren't quick enough they just seem to respawn like crazy. You also CANNOT go near the second turret just past the tunnel, that WILL spawn in the enemies(I was hoping the trigger was the bridge), but you can book it back through the tunnel jumping over one or two. Pretty straightforward level, you need to carefully manage your ammo near the end though. Definitely one of the easier ones, just take your time at the end and cower in the tunnel haha.
I pretty much just booked it to the end of those three rooms at about 8:00. Saved me a ton of time and ammo because I usually do the same thing on vanilla Legendary. It’s just knowing when to cloak.
This is worse than regret… takes nearly 90 melee hits to get shield back from dead flood, that room with all the flood is way too dark to even see where any flood are, and the section at the end is appalling 😂
If any of you have the problem where the enemies stop spawning in the end firefight section, there’s probably a flood stuck at the bottom of one of the pits they don’t die when they fall down there. Also sometimes there’s carrier forms that stay up on the top near the top of the structure where the door is. If this happens just take a lap around the top rim looking for carriers and if nothing is still spawning check the pits, if you look down and walk around them looking in the camo is actually pretty easy to see. Hope this saves someone else the hour it took me
Silver: Yeah now we're gonna do this jump, it's super easy, you'll get it 99/100 and even a baby can do it. You really can't fail it's so easy. Me: *Spends an hour doing the **5:48** jump*
Yeah, most of the time when he does a trick that involves platforming, my LASO partner and I skip it after getting frustrated. Grenade jumps are the worst when you can't get your shields back up, too.
@ 2:07.5 , if u shoot them the moment their in sight (the panels) before u jump down, and shoot the two as u go past them, (even if the panel is like a thin line, u can still hit it, if u do it fast enough, u can activate it, before the sentinals spawn, then camo, to be safe while the trigger kills the enemies.
So this was mostly easy enough. I wasn't super frustrated at least. We got through the first gondola easy-peasy, but we messed up by not meleeing the popcorn shrimpies for shields before going down and got stuck in a loop. Had to start over and then it was more of a pain to get past the gondola. He didn't have his camo ready and kept trying to go through. I had to let him know it wasn't activating when he asked. I assumed he just forgot. After my partner got the first grenade jump it was mostly them on their own, since I couldn't seem to get on the platform and landed below. Took a while, like 15-30 minutes, but they made it through well enough. You don't teleport to them until you get to the vent that leads outside (you spawn in near the bottom as they almost stop falling). My partner had trouble with the grenade jump up to the icy ledge, but I got it pretty much both times I had to do it with a plasma grenade and some overshield. I set things up poorly the first time by using a rocket launcher instead of the sword. Don't know if that was the problem or if I was unlucky with the physics, but the next time I went over I got it. Once we got a checkpoint, after I died again I think, it was fine for him to try and come up too and we supported the shipmaster for a while. Dropping down if he fell in a pit, to die of course, and sometimes for grenades or to break the turrets. No real issue there. I was out of ammo, but got enough grenades to make an impact and my partner handled the rest.
It's worth noting that if you don't have shields at 4:50 you pretty much can't proceed since you can't punch an infection form without it killing u so it's a restart
I just killed all the flood marines in the area and baited a couple flood popcorn for a few shields. Not too difficult you just have to be careful and time it right for the first shield.
It is possible to beat though. Just way more bloody difficult, I recommend a combination of dual plasma rifles, a carbine or br and a sword all in proximity. Good luck though. Oh and stick the turrets
I wonder if co-op LASO would have different strategy thanks to the recently discovered AUP glitch (Arbitrary Unit Possession glitch). Like you can have one player become an invincible character like Johnson, Miranda or Half-Jaws, or even a Pelican or Phantom and beat the level.
For whatever reason I had a hell of a time making the first jump at 5:48. If anyone else has trouble I was able to throw a frag on the left side of the windowframe and make it to the other side.
Sometimes it just pays to start again. Last night I spent over 2.5 hours on this one and then lockjaw got sent down a hole and checked pointed straight away. I was low on ammo so couldn't end it. Restarted and did the grenade jump first time which I couldn't last night and o my 40 mins for begining to end.
I don't even think he spawned for me, there was weirdly one Elite already there at the final section for me before I spawned in everything there, and then two more Elites spawned in, neither of which were Half Jaw, so everyone died and I'm basically alone lmao. Probably gonna have to restart since I don't think I want to bother trying to kill everyone on my own
I got stuck on a bad checkpoint for a bit where I was literally on no shield and the checkpoint unironically put me in the line of fire of an AR. I keep trying to get shield off of infection forms but it's so much harder in this game, especially since I have literally no shield. And then I lost the checkpoint all together somehow. BACK TO THE START I GO! I'm only 5 minutes into this video but I am so done for tonight.
Halfjaw fell into one of those holes in the sides of the last stage, make sure that if you don't see him for 30 minutes like me check there you will see his sword in the fog shot and you can see if its him or just a dropped blade, just restart then lol.
note: checkpoint came in after he dropped so restarted hole thing when i got back there same thing checkpoint after hefell again after 30 minutes I completed it, you can do it without him just get some weapons up on the wall shoot until out of ammo cloak grab more etc until enough waves have passed (3) and enough enemies have died for the ship to come then just hide and thats it, also you do not need to kill all the enemies in each wave i left the fat explosive guys pretty much most of them as they would regenerate bodies after they blew up the infection forms would bring them back and you also do not need to kill everyone for the ship to appear or to win after the ship shows up you can do it without him if you have patience as to not die over and over it will take less time than restarting. Also Please destroy all the turrets (2) before starting the waves thing everytime i would tell him to get down and be on my way back on the wall i would get a checkpoint and not be able to see if he fell in a hole.
Sidenote on the final area; shipmaster/half-jaw may swing at an infection form while it is popping, causing him to get throwing into the skybox and possibly despawning him.
Yo wtf? My lockjaw literally just yeeted off to space lmao. Guess he had enough with getting beating up and just flew using his sword taking the shortcut up to the other side of the ring lol
5 months late but if all 3 elites survive you can “assist” one off the edge with the sword without killing him so you don’t have to worry about him aggroing on you.
lol the jump at 5:46 I realized after many attempts trying to get over there only to find out I had no plasma grenades…got pissed off and said fuck it I’ll try it with a regular grenade and it threw me to the window and I made it
12:44 I get that I'm invincible while in the shaft, the problem I'm having is EXITING the shaft while all the flood are completely focused on me. On top of that, I have a BR instead of a carbine so I can't simply pick up ammo there. (Accidentally kept the plasma pistol from the start of the mission, not the carbine, the blind skull is funnnnnn) Every time I try to exit the shaft, a bunch of flood are waiting for me, if I camo then I either run into an infection form, or they just smack me to death anyway. I hate this level so much.
I rage quit and had to work out to calm down because it's too hard to smack the infection forms. Worst part is that unless my shields are beeping, I can't tell if I hit the infection form or if it hit me. This is easily the most frustrating part of LASO for me so far. Even getting stuck for over 12 hours in the first hangar of Cairo Station wasn't as infuriating as under an hour of trying to get double overshield by smacking infection forms.
dump the carbine you start with and pick one up from the death brutes who have full load + 120 rounds reserve (at least in the original version, dont know about mcc). also, when fighting flood, you might consider for dismembering both arms with sentinel beams which causes them to selfdestruct if they are (or become) active. also, your elite friends just own sentinels and flood when given sentinel beams. might try that for the elevator section in the oracle level
Hey silver. Do you have easier and more up-to-date guides on the channel for Laso? I’m not at all good when it comes to the platforming or the grenade jumping. (Because you know these games are well known for there platforming sections). Lol
Something very bizarre happened to me with this mission. I beat Regret, but the game didn't start the next mission. I was stuck at a black screen. So I Alt+F4'd and loaded the playlist again and it completed this mission instantly and put me straight into Quarantine Zone. Wtf???
I think I'm at a bad checkpoint. I'm at the nade jump and I have just enough shield to do the jump but its completely obliterated the 1 in 30 times i time it perfectly and don't die from the grenade, when I make it up I hit camo and run like he'll straight into an infection form with a shotgun that promptly shoots me while running the other direction
I'm not sure why but the enforcer you kill with sticky nades takes 4 sticks to kill for me after I shoot his legs off. So I have to do the nade jump with frags and it's not easy.
But if you hit it while running or jumping toward it, it will completely turn blue and open. For some reason Halo Completionist doesn't seem to realize that Halo 2's melee dmg is based on how fast the player is moving. So when meleeing, cars turrets or flood corpses back up and punch foreward. Backup and punch foreward.
Killed all three elites because the infection forms only spawned once in the area before and had to go to the bridge section with no shields. The 3 elites for the final battle were hostile at that point. Don't know if I can continue with that run now.
Those infection forms spawn forever, but only once the current group is dead. There was probably 1 stuck in a corner or something, preventing the next wave from spawning in.
@@HaloCompletionist Yep, just restarted and was able to breeze back to that spot after doing it once. Didn't notice how many were just down below me waiting for me to drop down that didn't run into me during their fall.
I'm so mad. at 16:55 mins you said that you don't want to go back to the beginning of the area or you will spawn enemies and so I just assumed that ment literally dont go back to where we came in the first area. So i want to go smash the turrets in the first area to gett my health back but then a few minutes later in the video you said to not go past the second turret and I didn't realize that till afterwards and now I'm stuck at a bad checkpoint. I love your guides but its things like that i wish you said in the moment. Im literally sitting here pausing and playing the video trying to recreate what your doing. And things like that i want to know in the moment because i don't always retain everything that you're saying so I have to watch the video little bit at a time and then do what you just said in the video before moving forward. Hopefully I get this Mission done but I feel i might have restart the mission because of this one mess up and I really don't want to.
If you ever get a bad checkpoint like that again you can just commit suicide 5 times in a row and you'll revert to the previous checkpoint. Haven't tried this in LASO myself with the Iron skull but some say it works. Certainly handy for normal Legendary runs anyway.
Yeah I did this too by accident. I was just able to avoid the enemies that spawned in and jumped back up onto the tree and out of the map. Took a few tries but eventually got a checkpoint back up out of the map.
Man, I just really can't get the distance on the jump at 5:48... Finally made it and then I realise I accidentally used all my plasmas on the enforcer... lol And on top of all that, every single time I get a bit of progress further in this mission, I end up losing my checkpoint for no reason whatsoever. I'm using the save and quit exploit the exact same every time but sometimes I just get put back to the start for no reason. I've redone the first 5 minutes of this mission so many times now, I'm losing my mind. Why does this have to happen on this mission, WHICH I KINDA REALLY DON'T LIKE?
Did I say bottomless? If so I misspoke. The kill barrier is at the way bottom so if you knock a crate or one of those sniper turret perches into the hole you can jump down and stand on them to avoid dying. No way back out though so if Halfjaw doesnt take care of business up there you're screwed.
Man half jaw kept flying to the other side of the halo ring. he was getting 10 second hang time. Just ZOOM! right into deep space. quick keep punching to avoid quick save than makes Master chiefs re-entry to earth look like childs play.
Another trick to smashing flood bodies faster is to first shoot it with a sentinal about 16 times, after that they smash real fast. The other trick is to melee 2x as fast. Thats done by learning a repeating button combo, weapon swap weapn swap and melee. Keep pressing that and you will melee faster, but you will need to figure out the rhythm.
Looks so easy here. Going to my third hour on the granade jump at 15:10. I'm not kidding, this is not a joke. I am stuck in this grenade jump. Can anyone help me?
sometimes these silly grenade jumps he has us do are harder than legit just clearing some areas. Been trying to pull off the 6:00 jump for 20 minutes so far. Some folk in comments tried for an hour.
Why is it that 70% of these guides are "okay, we're gonna do a grenade jump"? What about the poor idiots like me who can't time the damn things right?! Listen, I get this video specifies "LASO", but unfortunately, this is the only Halo 2 Legendary guide (on this channel) after Delta Halo. At this point, I think I may have to just go look at other guides that don't constantly suggest grenade jumps... If I'm going to fight through the level normally anyway, might as well, right?
LASO and Legendary are _very_ different games. The best strategies for LASO are often not necessary for vanilla Legendary, you can just fight through almost everything and utilize some of the easier skips If you don't like his use of nade jumps, all you can do is play through the level normally or practice the timing
You find yourself agreeing with the prophets in the opening cutscene of this mission when you realise the prophet’s honour guards were stopped by a couple of knocked over ceremonial torches.
Not to mention those pitiful shields.
"Shit, how do i jump again?"
to be fair, brutes wouldn't have done much more in their position.
Me and my friend couldnt get the jump dome so we went in and did it normally. I have no idea how but we did

3:50 lol, the enforcer tried to smash the Phantom with his pincers. I've never seen that before.

I keep trying to get shield off of infection forms but it's so much harder in this game, especially since I have literally no shield. And then I lost the checkpoint all together somehow. BACK TO THE START I GO!
I'm only 5 minutes into this video but I am so done for tonight.
Thanks for these play throughs you’re the best man😎👍
Halfjaw fell into one of those holes in the sides of the last stage, make sure that if you don't see him for 30 minutes like me check there you will see his sword in the fog shot and you can see if its him or just a dropped blade, just restart then lol.
note: checkpoint came in after he dropped so restarted hole thing when i got back there same thing checkpoint after hefell again after 30 minutes I completed it, you can do it without him just get some weapons up on the wall shoot until out of ammo cloak grab more etc until enough waves have passed (3) and enough enemies have died for the ship to come then just hide and thats it, also you do not need to kill all the enemies in each wave i left the fat explosive guys pretty much most of them as they would regenerate bodies after they blew up the infection forms would bring them back and you also do not need to kill everyone for the ship to appear or to win after the ship shows up you can do it without him if you have patience as to not die over and over it will take less time than restarting. Also Please destroy all the turrets (2) before starting the waves thing everytime i would tell him to get down and be on my way back on the wall i would get a checkpoint and not be able to see if he fell in a hole.
Love your guides!
A nice easy level after Regret awesome hopefully the next one won’t be too hard to drive through with a full overshield
I found this level to be harder than regret. bad rng for me I guess
Muchas gracias por la guía 👌🏼
Thanks!
I Like That Eilte
Lmao Half-Jaw just flew 1km into air at the end for me and fell right into a hole
More awesome LASO guides! :)
Fun fact: it takes 75 melees to get shields from dead flood bodies
I mean 86 times.... 86 FUCKING TIMES
Cool Game in Halo 2
That jump at 5:58 was really difficult
The part at 5:40 where you jump and then grenade jump is so unnecessary tbh, just run through, jump from the 3rd window and cammo. GG
Me and my friend were at the very end about a couple waves away to finishing this level and my game crashed... Guess I'm trying again tomorrow...😑👍
lol the jump at 5:46 I realized after many attempts trying to get over there only to find out I had no plasma grenades…got pissed off and said fuck it I’ll try it with a regular grenade and it threw me to the window and I made it
12:44 I get that I'm invincible while in the shaft, the problem I'm having is EXITING the shaft while all the flood are completely focused on me. On top of that, I have a BR instead of a carbine so I can't simply pick up ammo there. (Accidentally kept the plasma pistol from the start of the mission, not the carbine, the blind skull is funnnnnn)
Every time I try to exit the shaft, a bunch of flood are waiting for me, if I camo then I either run into an infection form, or they just smack me to death anyway.
I hate this level so much.
I just got a checkpoint with half jaw midflight, straight into a pit
I rage quit and had to work out to calm down because it's too hard to smack the infection forms. Worst part is that unless my shields are beeping, I can't tell if I hit the infection form or if it hit me. This is easily the most frustrating part of LASO for me so far. Even getting stuck for over 12 hours in the first hangar of Cairo Station wasn't as infuriating as under an hour of trying to get double overshield by smacking infection forms.
Flood move so spore-adically
Got a checkpoint at the bottom of the piston… then another when I missed the jump and landed on the bottom platform… -_-
dump the carbine you start with and pick one up from the death brutes who have full load + 120 rounds reserve (at least in the original version, dont know about mcc). also, when fighting flood, you might consider for dismembering both arms with sentinel beams which causes them to selfdestruct if they are (or become) active. also, your elite friends just own sentinels and flood when given sentinel beams. might try that for the elevator section in the oracle level
It's so much harder to smack the infection forms in halo 2. I've been stuck for a half hour just trying to refill my shields.
this game pisses me off more when it crashes whilst loading instead of dying 5483958 quadrillion times
Wtf???
19:59 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
I think I'm at a bad checkpoint. I'm at the nade jump and I have just enough shield to do the jump but its completely obliterated the 1 in 30 times i time it perfectly and don't die from the grenade, when I make it up I hit camo and run like he'll straight into an infection form with a shotgun that promptly shoots me while running the other direction
@5:23 how do I get shield if no infection forms followed me? I got the checkpoint since they didnt follow me so I cant go back
I'm not sure why but the enforcer you kill with sticky nades takes 4 sticks to kill for me after I shoot his legs off. So I have to do the nade jump with frags and it's not easy.
It would make life easier if frags stuck under your foot like they do with master chief.
Is it a requirement to shoot the pistons? I recall being able to just interact with them, but idk if something has changed with laso
On easy and normal you can, but on heroic, legendary and LASO it disables the option to interact with them so you have to shoot or melee them.
I lost the commander in the pit with a checkpoint had to completely restart
I played through the whole level again and the commander gets stuck in the pit again. FUUUUCCCXK
I'm so mad. at 16:55 mins you said that you don't want to go back to the beginning of the area or you will spawn enemies and so I just assumed that ment literally dont go back to where we came in the first area.
@@Diamnds10 Does not work in LASO
Yeah I did this too by accident. I was just able to avoid the enemies that spawned in and jumped back up onto the tree and out of the map. Took a few tries but eventually got a checkpoint back up out of the map.
Man, I just really can't get the distance on the jump at 5:48...
Finally made it and then I realise I accidentally used all my plasmas on the enforcer... lol
And on top of all that, every single time I get a bit of progress further in this mission, I end up losing my checkpoint for no reason whatsoever.
The pits arent bottomless but it sucks when he falls in them
he fell in them too much during my LASO run
Did I say bottomless? If so I misspoke. The kill barrier is at the way bottom so if you knock a crate or one of those sniper turret perches into the hole you can jump down and stand on them to avoid dying. No way back out though so if Halfjaw doesnt take care of business up there you're screwed.
How long is the firefight at the end? It’s been like over 25 min now
Nevermind, as soon as I jump down the phantom appears
6:00 You said it’s possible with a frag where would you throw it I’ve been trying just to find placement for a frat grenade
Got it if you don’t have plasma and only frags throw it at your feet instead
@@jrinc6467 thank you!
@@jrinc6467 legit u are a life saver! Got it thanks to you!
Idk why but this level is hard
loving these vids, but you know that you can open the pistons with the interact button, right?
Not on Legendary
How many more achievements you need
I've had them all for a long time personally.
The reload trick is enough for meleeing fast and he mentions that in prior videos.
Do you still stream on youtube anymore? Feel like I never catch them anymore
Havent in awhile. I plan to next week after all these H2 LASO guides are out though.
I Like That Eire You Made Me Sad
Looks so easy here.
Going to my third hour on the granade jump at 15:10.
I'm not kidding, this is not a joke. I am stuck in this grenade jump. Can anyone help me?
Who seriously gives a thumb down to this wtf ?
Hi silver!
14:14 F
sometimes these silly grenade jumps he has us do are harder than legit just clearing some areas. Been trying to pull off the 6:00 jump for 20 minutes so far. Some folk in comments tried for an hour.
It’s pronounced car-bean not car-byne. Great video. God bless.
By far the worst laso level so far I've had to restart the level 3 times already by 7:40
That stupid 5:58 jump isn't even that hard. What's hard is getting a checkpoint when you're already in the air. I was in a spawn-die simulator, man.
The best strategies for LASO are often not necessary for vanilla Legendary, you can just fight through almost everything and utilize some of the easier skips
If you don't like his use of nade jumps, all you can do is play through the level normally or practice the timing
