Truth be told, even with the enormous help Silver provides with his helpful guides, LASO is not for mere mortals. You need atleast a bit of spartan blood in you to even attempt it. Currently on the oracle. Im not scared, i already died so many times.

I left off on Gravemind during the pandemic and haven't touched it in almost 2 years due to being too busy with work, but I think I'm going to finish it in the next week or two. I would not have made it thru Cairo station without these guides, those Hangar rooms are brutal and borderline impossible if you don't have Johnson there helping, these guides cut the skill requirement to 1/4 what it would be. Some missions are easy to complete, but GL making it through the hardest ones without any good tips and tricks.

@@TheDarkMewtwo996 Nice mate I'm happy for you, I need to finish 2 and do 3 and 4, the rest I finished. I will finish 2, do 4 because it's my least favorite, and then do 3 last bc it doesn't seem super challenging and to finish on a high note. I did CE LASO 3 times now, one solo, one solo again for the LMCS playlist, and a 3rd time with my brother co-op LASO, I'm at the point I legit enjoy it and I don't find it that difficult. Gravemind on H2, a whole different beast, I know I can do it just need to muster the courage to spend a day working to get out of the starting room. After that you play carefully until prison skip, and once you do prison skip you get past most of the mission without too much difficulty and the remaining missions shouldn't be too bad. I understand your pain with work, just don't have the time to play but I'll make time to finish it. If you did CE and H2, the rest are not that bad. ODST is a bit challenging mainly the 1st mission, after that it gets easier. Reach has some challenging moments but it's balanced enough that I would play it for fun, and 4 is challenging mainly in that fighting the prometheans is boring and the LASO just isn't all that fun to play on 4, but people say it isn't challenging. Thankfully there's levels you can get out of the map for sections on 4, that's the only thing that makes it tolerable imo.

After Gravemind, the missions became a breeze. What I love about Halo 2 LASO is that you start off with hiding behind Johnson in the beginning and also the end. It was hilarious seeing multiple clones of Johnson stunlocking Tartarus and doing the work taking his shields down quickly, just have to watch out for those 3 brute reinforcements on occasion, definitely a moment you need to see for yourself after making it this far. Thanks for your all help Silver, would have never gotten LASO Master without you!
at 6:40 if you didn't get a brute shot like me you can go up the rock by going to the left and jump from there up the rock and continue normally with the plasma made jump. to everyone you can do it.. anyone can do it with sliver guides. gravemind.. regret.. is not that bad you only need to keep trying and stay calm. I love the contrast between Silver's narration when he's doing something relatively simple, like par times on easy, where he's basically just chilling and cracking jokes, versus his narration when he's doing LASO where he's super focused and talking quickly

These guides are a blessing , though I hope they’ll never have a laso achievement ever again on infinite or any future halos, but rewarding laso completions with really amazing armor you can’t get any other way would be cool

I've done Reach twice and CE with these guides, they take ages to complete but they're mostly just bullshit and unfun the whole time. I get the appeal of achievements that are actually insanely hard to get but if any of them are like Halo 2 then I'll be turned off right away.

This literally wouldn't be possible without you, it's like figuring out a rubix cube organically, the odds of success are astronomical, but thanks to the incredible amount of care and patience and knowledge you have put into making these, it's made it possible for chumps like me to finish LASO too. I tried this 4 years ago and got so mad at gravemind getting right to the end of the mission and then getting stuck in infinite death loop respawns and having to get back to that point after hours and hours only for it to happen again. It broke me, but i'm back, i did it and just finished the Halo 2 LASO thanks to you Silver. Thank you for everything, were going all the way this time, next up H3.
This was my final LASO achievement - I saved it for last because Gravemind just took it all out of me. And I even messed up the Spectre strat lol....but I finally finished it. I definitely had to find ways to grapple with contingencies that came up across the Halo franchise, but I certainly never could have done it without the roadmap set forth by your guides. Truly, thank you Silver! Now, all that'll be left for me aside from a handful of achievements across the rest of the Halo titles, is mopping up the playlists on MCC (including that behemoth LMCS), H5 LASO and finally playing Firteam Raven haha. Oh and the Chinese MCC - that'll be my capstone!

My co-op partner and I both just finished up all 700 Halo MCC achievements in large part thanks to your video guides. I've been subscribed for years and love your humor, but really felt the need to say thank you. We completed Halo 2 LASO as our last achievements just a few days ago.

Worth noting that you have to take the spectre from the beginning of the level into the control room for the Johnson trick to work. If you use a spectre from later in the level you'll end up with 1 Johnson
Just finished this LASO campaign, and with this all of the other campaigns, even with these guides it was a difficult road, I played about 16 hours in the Cairo Station alone, and after 5 resets because I couldn´t do the prison skip (and I never could) I passed gravemind, there are no words to thank you enough

Hey Silver! Just finished Halo 2 Laso, with help from your guides and I just want to thank you for these amazing guides. I used your Laso guides for Halo Reach and CE aswell and also your speedrun guides and guides for other achievements. They are a tremendous help and well explained. It helped me, and I bet a whole lot of other people, from going insane. So again thank you very much!
GeneralKidd did a video on Johnson's weight according to the game file. He weight 80000 units, in comparision Master Chief weight 125 units. So that's why Johnson can't be pushed around or blown away
Some additional tips: If you keep dying when you drive the spectre over that cliff, try it at normal speed instead of boosting. I find that fixes the issue. When trying to get the spectre into the boss fight and you let it slowly fall off the structure, make sure to take it slow. If you let it gain too much downward velocity, it will keep that velocity when it spawns into the boss room, causing it to crash into the floor and explode. Since you will get a checkpoint, you will be forced to either restart the mission or fight Tartarus yourself. If something goes wrong and you have to fight Tartarus yourself, hide behind the wall closest to Sgt. Johnson and cram as much carbine ammo into his head as you can when his shields are down. If you need more ammo, some elites will drop some and there is a crate on the bottom floor. It is time-consuming, but it can be done.
i know this comment might not get any acknowledgment, but i got to say i have been playing halo for 20 years now and i have NEVER done any LASO runs at all but up untill last week i decided hey ima start, and let me say silver, i literally finished halo CE and halo 2 LASO as of 12/5/2021 and i got to say your channel is seriously underrated. i would have never beat this without your guides and i appreciate everything you do for the halo community, and now i can start on halo 3 LASO keep up the great man you are best

Edit: To anyone struggling with the jump, just throw a Grenade on the railing while you're on it and jump before it goes off and it'll get you to the other side relatively painlessly. I'm glad the jumps are so easy in the video but the RNG actually trying it is horrendous. I always get shot at by the brutes in the back and front of me regardless of when I cloak making the jump near impossible and when I'm not getting lampooned I don't make the jump anyways because I'm trash. Angry angry angry
For anyone doing this in 2023 - referring to Jeravalin's laso deathless run - you can just use a banshee in the final sequence which makes it infinitely easier than relying on the specter. And the move is far easier since you just need to use the nose of the banshee against the wall to skip and have it spawn for the final fight and then you can just freely blast Tartarus to LASO heaven.
Final got LASO Master thanks to you, Silver! If you are on PC and don't know how to pull your nose up in the spectre or any other vehicle, for me it was not the jump key; it was CTRL. That made the jump easy.

Oh didn't even know it was possible to jump over the abyss at 2:12 like that. Nifty. When I did LASO on here, I just jumped it with a ghost like the speedrun strat, then immediately got out and cloaked past all the Brutes on the other side.

Missions I will not be playing again on higher than normal difficulty - truth and reconciliation, the library, two betrayals, Cairo station, regret, gravemind. Wow. This is an achievement I looked at years ago and thought I’d never accomplish. Now I’m here and I couldn’t have done it without the help of your guides. Thank you so much for everything!!
- Also, sometimes when you run back there are no brute shots. It's not like the prison is hard anyway, so... - As an added note, I would recommend venturing INTO the prison, because sometimes, the various skips we've done prevent you getting a checkpoint. By going as far as the prison and a little up the ramp in there, you guarantee one. Then head back in search of a brute shot. - Also, another time I ran back from the Prison, buggers and the brute on the ravine turret were still alive. This is all on PC. - The door back to the prison was still open for me despite hitting the despawn zone for the wraith pilots. It's best to run until Johnson says "Ha! How do you like it?", then you know the wraith pilots are despawned. - If the spectre gets stuck on top of the control room roof, you can melee it out of the glitch spot. You don't need to revert checkpoint. - If the spectre is too damaged it'll blow up when it lands in the control room, even if you pull off the trick. I had this happen and it pissed me off. Don't bash it too much if using the above trick, or if it's already pretty trashed.
Oh boy what a journey. 3 weeks ago I began the Reach LASO playlist with your guide and just at this moment i finished H2 LASO. 3 weeks, 3 Halos. Thank you very much for your guides. You are the best! See you again soon with H3 ;D

Honestly, playing on these incredible high challenge conditions makes me appreciate Halos for all their design elements and tools available at your disposal, but the difficulty here was something else, definitely the hardest FPS i've ever played.
Im thankful youre doing these guides, wouldve not been able to get through that on my own. But dude please, in this mission there are 2 major callouts that youre not giving which results in reloading the entire mission. First thing is sticking the brutes on the way through is a must, to get the brute shot. Youre making that seem like its optional and you cant revert that once youre through. Second thing is the wraith despawn. If you dont hit that the scarab wont move up and you can reload the mission. Thats kinda frustrating. Besides that, thanks for helping out.
Just got my achievement thanks to you. The parts that actually gave me a hard time are mostly the jumps / nade jumps. I can't get use to the jumps in halo games, low gravity and bouncing everywhere..... I played too mutch Kreedz map in cs 1.6 back in the day i guess. I think halo CE was a bit harder for me, that would not be true few years ago if not for the new strats and your guide. The skulls also helps you more in halo 2. Thanks again.
I did it! I came back for more and you helped me get to the end. Thank you very much for all the hard work, never could've done it without your help (especially the regret battle, which would be all but impossible with elites and grunts running around.) I never did master the grenade mount to kill regret so I had to board him constantly for about 12 minutes, definitely impossible if not for your jumps and setup. Thanks again!
Thanks for the Guide silver. Though sadly I got frustrated at trying to do the bruteshot jump / skip so I did the prison fight legit. I also had some issues landing the jump on the forerunner glyph but I managed to get through. I just need Halo:4 for LASO Master and ODST to complete all the LASO's in the collection. Oh I also forgot to mention my copy of Halo 2 on PC is semi broke in that the game will not output any audio from the game ( can hear audio in menus ) and other campaigns have audio. So I had to finish up my last few LASO missions with no sound which made it much harder than it should've been.

btw, the brute plasma rifles do the quickest damage to tarturus, its the speedrun strategy.

Just finished this LASO campaign, and with this all of the other campaigns, even with these guides it was a difficult road, I played about 16 hours in the Cairo Station alone, and after 5 resets because I couldn´t do the prison skip (and I never could) I passed gravemind, there are no words to thank you enough

You're the best, man. Halo CE wasn't that bad for me personally (Truth and Reconciliation was by far the hardest bit), but I legitimately didn't think 2 was possible for me. Thanks to your guidance, I just finished it. You rock man, I'll see you in Halo 3 here shortly!

GeneralKidd did a video on Johnson's weight according to the game file. He weight 80000 units, in comparision Master Chief weight 125 units. So that's why Johnson can't be pushed around or blown away

Some additional tips:
If you keep dying when you drive the spectre over that cliff, try it at normal speed instead of boosting. I find that fixes the issue.
When trying to get the spectre into the boss fight and you let it slowly fall off the structure, make sure to take it slow. If you let it gain too much downward velocity, it will keep that velocity when it spawns into the boss room, causing it to crash into the floor and explode. Since you will get a checkpoint, you will be forced to either restart the mission or fight Tartarus yourself.
If something goes wrong and you have to fight Tartarus yourself, hide behind the wall closest to Sgt. Johnson and cram as much carbine ammo into his head as you can when his shields are down. If you need more ammo, some elites will drop some and there is a crate on the bottom floor. It is time-consuming, but it can be done.
i know this comment might not get any acknowledgment, but i got to say i have been playing halo for 20 years now and i have NEVER done any LASO runs at all but up untill last week i decided hey ima start, and let me say silver, i literally finished halo CE and halo 2 LASO as of 12/5/2021 and i got to say your channel is seriously underrated. i would have never beat this without your guides and i appreciate everything you do for the halo community, and now i can start on halo 3 LASO keep up the great man you are best

Love your guides! Thought I'd never be able to complete LASO, but it was actually pretty fun with your help.
Edit: To anyone struggling with the jump, just throw a Grenade on the railing while you're on it and jump before it goes off and it'll get you to the other side relatively painlessly.
I'm glad the jumps are so easy in the video but the RNG actually trying it is horrendous. I always get shot at by the brutes in the back and front of me regardless of when I cloak making the jump near impossible and when I'm not getting lampooned I don't make the jump anyways because I'm trash.

Oh totally. I just shot my way through that part. It was easier than the jump in co-op
For anyone doing this in 2023 - referring to Jeravalin's laso deathless run - you can just use a banshee in the final sequence which makes it infinitely easier than relying on the specter. And the move is far easier since you just need to use the nose of the banshee against the wall to skip and have it spawn for the final fight and then you can just freely blast Tartarus to LASO heaven.
Final got LASO Master thanks to you, Silver! If you are on PC and don't know how to pull your nose up in the spectre or any other vehicle, for me it was not the jump key; it was CTRL. That made the jump easy.

Oh didn't even know it was possible to jump over the abyss at 2:12 like that. Nifty. When I did LASO on here, I just jumped it with a ghost like the speedrun strat, then immediately got out and cloaked past all the Brutes on the other side.

Missions I will not be playing again on higher than normal difficulty - truth and reconciliation, the library, two betrayals, Cairo station, regret, gravemind. Have only done CE & 2 laso so far and so this list will probably expand as I work through the rest of the games.
Learning about the rocket dupe glitch actually made Library one of the more fun levels for me in CE

Wow. This is an achievement I looked at years ago and thought I’d never accomplish. Now I’m here and I couldn’t have done it without the help of your guides. Thank you so much for everything!!
- Also, sometimes when you run back there are no brute shots. It's not like the prison is hard anyway, so...
- As an added note, I would recommend venturing INTO the prison, because sometimes, the various skips we've done prevent you getting a checkpoint. By going as far as the prison and a little up the ramp in there, you guarantee one. Then head back in search of a brute shot.
- Also, another time I ran back from the Prison, buggers and the brute on the ravine turret were still alive. This is all on PC.
- The door back to the prison was still open for me despite hitting the despawn zone for the wraith pilots. It's best to run until Johnson says "Ha! How do you like it?", then you know the wraith pilots are despawned.
- If the spectre gets stuck on top of the control room roof, you can melee it out of the glitch spot. You don't need to revert checkpoint.
- If the spectre is too damaged it'll blow up when it lands in the control room, even if you pull off the trick. I had this happen and it pissed me off. Don't bash it too much if using the above trick, or if it's already pretty trashed.
Oh boy what a journey. 3 weeks ago I began the Reach LASO playlist with your guide and just at this moment i finished H2 LASO. 3 weeks, 3 Halos.

Im thankful youre doing these guides, wouldve not been able to get through that on my own. But dude please, in this mission there are 2 major callouts that youre not giving which results in reloading the entire mission. First thing is sticking the brutes on the way through is a must, to get the brute shot. Youre making that seem like its optional and you cant revert that once youre through. Second thing is the wraith despawn. If you dont hit that the scarab wont move up and you can reload the mission. Thats kinda frustrating. Besides that, thanks for helping out.
Just got my achievement thanks to you. The parts that actually gave me a hard time are mostly the jumps / nade jumps. I can't get use to the jumps in halo games, low gravity and bouncing everywhere..... I played too mutch Kreedz map in cs 1.6 back in the day i guess.
I think halo CE was a bit harder for me, that would not be true few years ago if not for the new strats and your guide.
The skulls also helps you more in halo 2.

I did it! I came back for more and you helped me get to the end. Thank you very much for all the hard work, never could've done it without your help (especially the regret battle, which would be all but impossible with elites and grunts running around.) I never did master the grenade mount to kill regret so I had to board him constantly for about 12 minutes, definitely impossible if not for your jumps and setup. Thanks again!

Thanks for the Guide silver. Though sadly I got frustrated at trying to do the bruteshot jump / skip so I did the prison fight legit. I also had some issues landing the jump on the forerunner glyph but I managed to get through. I just need Halo:4 for LASO Master and ODST to complete all the LASO's in the collection.
Oh I also forgot to mention my copy of Halo 2 on PC is semi broke in that the game will not output any audio from the game ( can hear audio in menus ) and other campaigns have audio. So I had to finish up my last few LASO missions with no sound which made it much harder than it should've been.
I swear to god your plasmas have a faster fuse than mine. Thanks for the wonderful guides
