@@Silver_79 well any steroid helps you hit the ball better because you can reach the ball quicker. I think Barry Bonds getting walked so much from the pitchers is what kept him from from being the GOAT. I mean if he got pitched to and drove in like 150+ runs from 2000-2004 he would be the GOAT of baseball but he never got pitched to enough.
@@michaeladams5636 "well any steroid helps you hit the ball better because you can reach the ball quicker" I get what your saying but your statement is one about power/bat speed. No one with a functioning brain (honestly at least) is saying Gear didn't help his power/speed which translates to more homers. I'm saying irrespective of any Gear name me the PED that helps a hitter see a pitch faster, recognize the type of pitch and where to place the bat....It doesn't exist. Barry ability to do those things at such a exceptional level is why he was so good as a hitter. IF his swing had started to slow down with age, he would have just adjusted the starting time of his swing to make contact. Its highly unlikely Barry would be the HR king without "help", but his ability to know where to place his bat for the ball was nuts. That skill set had nothing to do with Gear.

Barry bonds was one of the best players ever. But because of the ped allegations and his massive ego he chose to take performance enhancing drugs. And because of that decision, his legacy will always be tainted.
Damn, the guy couldn't even clean up after himself, the long kitchen counter in his San Francisco condo always littered with boxes and bottle of steroids, cotton balls and syringes... Granted, every player on his team couldn't stand him, but I think that was because he brutally beat up his wife so often... I only ran into the guy once, when I was standing next to a little black girl who handed Bonds a new baseball and a Sharpie and asked "Mr. Bonds" for his autograph, only to be told, "You'll have to see my people about that" aka buy one... Hell of a guy. Yeah, hell's a good word.
That's slander. Bonds didn't live in a condo in sf he owned a home in Atherton. None of the abuse allega were ever substantiated in fact courts found his ex wife liable financially. I never saw him treat any child poorly in fact he did sign alot of autographs.
@@Jeff-sp7bg Atherton, Marin, San Francisco, Riverside, Temecula... Yeah, Bonds has had some real estate holdings in his life. His condo with the long kitchen counter littered with boxes and bottle of steroids, cotton balls and syringes in SF was on South Van Ness, just south of Market. Minutes from Pac Bell Park, he had a good view. With access to the entirety of Candlestick Park before, during and after games, I regularly encountered Bonds, and regularly encountering Bonds results in consistently encountering his exhibiting cruelty to everyone as a matter of course. Heading out for a tasty lunch now with a happy, smart and beautiful woman and her dog on a sunny day, Cool Cliff.
Bonds was a very good player before he started juicing, but he wasn't close to being the goat. People who don't know hitting say getting stronger doesn't help the hitter make contact, but that's absolutely not true. The stronger the hitter is, the quicker his bat will be. That means he can wait longer before committing on a pitch. And that means they don't get fooled as often, and of course the quicker bat makes the ball go further. It's not rocket science, folks; the cheating is the sole reason he has the numbers he has now. Sans cheating he probably finishes around Frank Robinson in home runs and rbi.
Maybe he would have been the goat, but since he decided to take steroids that changed his legacy. Steroids took away something he could possibly have been without even taking them sad. You can't call someone the goat who takes steroids if you are a true sports fan.
You clearly dont watch baseball if you cant pronounce Bobby Bonilla's name correctly. In addition to being a great player, his name gets brought up every year to this day on the date the Mets pay him.

Sadly, Barry Bonds will never be considered the GOAT by those whose opinions matter and is extraordinarily unlikely to get into the hall of fame due to his heavy use of anabolic steroids. As a player gets older in the game, it's only natural that their numbers trail off. However, in his thirties, Bonds not only became a chiseled Adonis but his numbers went through the roof. I'm sorry if this hurts the feelings of his fan base but it's the undeniable truth. Somewhere his father is spinning in his grave.

Mlb ban the use of psd in 1991 so he knew. He might have been a the hall fame player. But we never know for sure. The media and sport writers did not keep him out hall of fame he did it himself.
lets break down a few things, as you have attempted to do here. without any discussion of roids until other facts are out of the way. in his first 4 years (through age 24) he wasnt great yet. many were great before that age, off the top of my head there is williams, mays, mantle ,ruth, grffey, a-rod, ed matthews, jimmie foxx, cobb, and thats not counting, pitchers, or players who didnt sustain a high level (like vada pinson or cecar cedeno who were way better than bonds through age 24. next, from age 34 on he was very injury prone, missing an average of 41 games per season. in those last 9 years, when he hit so very well, but missed over 25% of his teams games, he had lost his speed, he became a clear liability on defense, and he therefore was no longer an amazing ALL-AROUND player (he was a profoundly dominant hitter in this period though). he never had much of an arm at all. other than the 2002 post-season, he has no claim to clutch performance. his teams didnt win, despite the fact that some of them seemed like great teams on paper. he was obviously self-interested, rather than making even a small pretense of being a team guy. his quotes on the subject will prove this, i dont have to. on the positive side, from the ages of 25-33 he was one of the top all-around players the game has ever seen, and from the age of 36, he became nearly superman level with the bat. he was conclusively the best player of the 1990s, and, if one looks at hitting like its all that matters he was likely the player of the 2000s as well. he didnt however dominate these periods as much as other ballplayers or other athletes have dominated a time and place. (ruth in the 20s, mays from 54-65, joe morgan 72-77, wagner in the 1900s, cobb in the 1910s,josh gibson in the 1930s. or for that matter, compared to other athletes from the same exact period, bonds wasnt as dominant as michael jordan, pete sampras, or wayne gretzky. add now to all this, he not only used ped's (as many others did), but he wont admit it or take even a scrap of responsibility for that ( as many others have). all things considered, he's among the most talented (but not first place talent), he's among the best all-around and dominant from age 25-33(but again not first place) and he set offensive records late in his career when he was also hurt a lot, no longer fast, no longer a good fielder, and his teams never won. so to rank him as high as perhaps number 5 or 6 of all time could be reasonable, but isnt conclusive. in my opinion he wasnt among the top 30 in value to team wins. and , no offense intended , but it is somewhere between a falsehood and a sickening joke to call him the goat. of course he's way above the standard usually needed to get in the hall of fame, and i believe he will get there. i support that. but this nonsense about him being the greatest of them all is a display of ignorance of the game's history.
perfect example of why you think bonds is the best ever. because when it comes to baseball history, or how to properly evaluate players, you "wouldnt read all that" dear lord its 20,000 pages or more before you could even know who is the goat, let alone be qualified to tell others who it may be. i totally believe youre not reading all that.@@InDepthBaseballYT

Barry Bonds is so great that he had to take steroids and wear rubber batting gloves to grip the bat and play in much smaller ballparks, to get a much worse lifetime slugging average than a pitcher.
Your nuts . He didnt save baseball. No 1 person is bigger than the game. Hey and didnt you see him play with all that plastic on him while batting. @@sir.muffiniii7011 I saw Hank Aaron play .and he didn't crowd the home plate because he couldn't. Pitchers were allowed to brush hitters back , weren't ejected. Aaron couldn't intimidate by batting close to the plate .he still hit 755 homeruns. And against better pitchers. The leagues were smaller

If Bonds admitted to taking steroids then yes he probably should be in the HOF. But since he wants to lie a be in denial I say keep him out.
Where’s the rest😭😭
He should have had 9 mvps.
At this point, the baseball HOF is a joke if the leader in HRs and leader in hits are both left out.
The guy had 495 home runs before the “cream “ and the “clear” and “Balco”
And , what people forget, he was hitting against pitchers who were juicing or taking growth hormone.
Just call the period from 1987 to 2007 the steroid era and give them an asterisk and put them in the hall of fame
Ppl already call it the “steroid era” no need for a * but if you wish to put an * on it than you gotta put one on everything including World Series wins* all records*, league leaders*, award winners* and HOF including commissioner during that era that allowed it to happen
Barry Bonds had the total package
Where is part 2 & 3?
YES GOAT. Only thing you could ding him on was he had an average throwing arm, or he was perfect.
It’s not Bobby Boneelia - it’s Bobby Bonilla (Bo-Nee-Ah)
He's a young guy that wasn't even around when he played. Give him a break.
NO !!! Willie Mays is the GOAT. Alot of players in his era lost years to the military like Ted Williams did also. But Willie Mays hit 660 HR's and over 3000 hits and stole over 300 bases and missed 3 years in his prime to go fight in the war. What would his stats be if he didn't.
Mayes was at bat 1,077 more times than Bonds.
Aaron was at bat 1.440 more times than Mayes
Aaron was at bat 3,965 more times than Ruth.
That good old boy shit was big time in mlb in the 80s and 90s
The GOAT is Willie Mays.
Barry Bonds is the greatest baseball player of all time.
I think he would be in the hall if he had been more likable. He is the best hitter I have seen.
He has 762 HR 514 stolen bases 7 MVP should have 10 and no HOF that’s sad. ⚾️
When second part?
And never failed a drug test ever
But everyone knows he is the biggest cheater of all time including you.
Name me the PED that helps you recognize a pitch faster, where to place the bat or which pitches to swing at……I’ll wait
No one is saying Gear didn’t help him or anyone else…..BUT this dude was just different, even amongst those who were using Gear. If Gear made everyone awesome, why did most of the guys who used it never reach his level?…….Barry is just different…..Call him every name in the book, he’s still on the Mt. Rushmore of Baseball.
@@michaeladams5636 "well any steroid helps you hit the ball better because you can reach the ball quicker"
I get what your saying but your statement is one about power/bat speed.
Who’s here after watching untold on Netflix? 👀🍿
"Bobby Bonilia" 😂
He would of been the greatest of all time if he didn't fall into temptation.
He still is
I second that. Don’t care what anyone says he’s up there with Ruth, Mays, Aaron and Cobb
So really what I learned from this is that he should have even more MVPs lol. This dude will never be surpassed. Idc if he roided or not. Baseball was at a low before steroids. Barry Bonds was the greatest player in any era. He played in the steroid era, and was the greatest then. I think that proves he's the best lol.
When i was like 11 or 12 years old it would have been in 2001, 2002. Me and my cousins all wrote a letter to our favorite baseball player. Mine ofcourse was Barry Bonds. I wrote the letter and my grandma sent them all out. A month or so later i get an autographed Barry Bonds baseball card sent back to my in the mail. Put Barry in the Hall of Fame already... its ridiculous he hasnt been voted in yet.... him and Pete Rose
Wen part 2?
Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds, and Ty Cobb are the three greatest baseball players ever.
Pujols.
Don’t forget Lou Gehrig and David Ortiz. I also think Alex Rodriguez had a slightly better career than Bonds even though Bonds had a few more MVPs. I don’t think deserved in MVP in 2003 I would have voted Pujols that year.
Barry Bonds is the GOAT 🐐. Mays is second, Aaron third, Pedro Martinez 4th (best pitcher ever IMO at his peak).
Bobby Bo-Neal-ya?😂😂😂
The fact he is on the argument for being the GOAT and not in the hall of fame because of suspicion which whier never proven is crazy meanwhile Ty Cobb racist ass is just chilling and Pete Rose literally gambled on the game and still got in.
I agree but Pete Rose isnt in the HOF.
Not goat but babe Ruth is the goat
@@magicjohnson-o4lNOPE
Pete Rose should be in the HOF
Michael Adam's, Sosa career stats 273 ba, 609 hrs, 1667 rbi, 878 ops, Now Bonds 298 ba, 762 hrs, 1996 rbi, 2227 runs, ops 1.051. End of debate, stop with your nonsense.
Tbh it sounds like he tanked that 91 playoff performance on purpose.
Anyone with enough power to do that will do that. He had the power to do that
why would he do that? Every player wants to win the world series
Saw him play when he fiest came to SF, before the juice. Changed him from one of the greatest left fielders ever into a DH. Pre steroids he could hit and run like a deer, after he could hit with better power
easily the goat, 411 homers before juicing lmao
Newest data in. Top ten alltime:
Bonds
Mays
Ruth
Aaron
Gehrig
Arod
Musial
Frank Robinson
DiMaggio

There it is from the experts panel headed by me. Now you can go back to your groups and discuss our decisions. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bench top 10 all time is crazy
No Cobb?
The GOAT is Griffey Jr snd and he didn't have to cheat the game.
Ken griffey is not even a top 10 outfielder of all time, respectfully
@@InDepthBaseballYT Wow. Now that's just plain ignorant. 🤣
@@InDepthBaseballYT He was named the 13th best baseball player of All Time. Where the fuck were you during the 90's?
Griffey is too 10 for sure but bonds is better
You telling me you rather have JR over BB? 😂😂😂
go try to hit a baseball. Its insanely hard. Hitting homeruns has a a lot more to do with being able to "get your pitch" which means fouling balls off that arent your pitch and seeing for your pitch, then reacting.... steroids or not..... muscle is still only maybe 8% of the equation at best
Dan
Real talk.
@clifford7594 sounds like sour grapes to me. Don't be jealous he's moved on and is enjoying life you should too.
@@Jeff-sp7bg OK, you don't understand... words, context... life... Bonds isn't enjoying his life. Never has, never will. He's dumb, scared, angry and regularly violent. I ain't got that. Heading out for a tasty lunch now with a happy, smart and beautiful woman and her dog on a sunny day, Cool Cliff.
When OFF THE JUICE..YEAH HOF ALL THE WAY. NOW, NOT SO MUCH
Bonds was a very good player before he started juicing, but he wasn't close to being the goat.
Nice to see Barry before the gigantisism kicked in.
No lie, I would be interested to see his hat size as a Pirate vs homerun champ??
Greatest of all time what...CHEAT?
Promo sm 😁
You don't know how to pronounce Bobby Bonilla? Bonilla is said like "Tortilla".
0 rings ! Pitch to my daddy cheater!
Steroids baby babe Ruth #1
Maybe he would have been the goat, but since he decided to take steroids that changed his legacy. Steroids took away something he could possibly have been without even taking them sad. You can't call someone the goat who takes steroids if you are a true sports fan.
You clearly dont watch baseball if you cant pronounce Bobby Bonilla's name correctly. In addition to being a great player, his name gets brought up every year to this day on the date the Mets pay him.
Need to start a petition. Barry bonds not in the HOF is an injustice to the sport
Rampant cheating was an injustice to those playing the game using their natural gifts. 😠
@@GizmoBeach he didn’t cheat . Hitting a 100 mph fastball steroid or not he deserves to be in the hof . Saying he cheated is like saying Pete rose cheated . They need to stop being stupid
Threw like a girl, teammates hated him, took roids, i hate this dude, but i must admit, Bonds on roids was the best hitter I ever saw. Still threw like a girl.
How can he be the GOAT, when NOOOO MLB team even wanted him towards the end of his tenure, which you say is the greatest period, of ANY PLAYER, EVER? But no one wanted THE GOAT!?
I think you know the answer to that. And it doesn't help the point you think you're making
@@InDepthBaseballYT sure buddy, I like the video, great job, editing is top notch. Just weird that you could be the the GREATEST OF ALL TIME, and nobody wants you? Greatest player to use steroids lol not in top 10 as a pirate, he was a puny guy, Let's be real
JUICER
i truly don't care what some people say, roids will not improve your swing, it won't help a batter see the ball better, mcgwire was a beast in oakland with canseco, etc... the bonds haters are idjits.
The biggest cheater. The most bogus records. He didn't need steroids but he used them because others got more attention than he did. That was childish of him and like a really large baby he is now getting spanked by reality just like McGuire, Sosa, Clemons et al. I think he would have gotten in except for the cheating. And has anyone noticed the Most of the other cheats ain't there either?
Maybe he was going to be the best of all time but sad that we will never know if have home run record for season and career have carrer batting avg of 298. With out use of steroids.
(ruth in the 20s, mays from 54-65, joe morgan 72-77, wagner in the 1900s, cobb in the 1910s,josh gibson in the 1930s. or for that matter, compared to other athletes from the same exact period, bonds wasnt as dominant as michael jordan, pete sampras, or wayne gretzky. add now to all this, he not only used ped's (as many others did), but he wont admit it or take even a scrap of responsibility for that ( as many others have). all things considered, he's among the most talented (but not first place talent), he's among the best all-around and dominant from age 25-33(but again not first place) and he set offensive records late in his career when he was also hurt a lot, no longer fast, no longer a good fielder, and his teams never won. so to rank him as high as perhaps number 5 or 6 of all time could be reasonable, but isnt conclusive. in my opinion he wasnt among the top 30 in value to team wins. and , no offense intended , but it is somewhere between a falsehood and a sickening joke to call him the goat. of course he's way above the standard usually needed to get in the hall of fame, and i believe he will get there. i support that. but this nonsense about him being the greatest of them all is a display of ignorance of the game's history.
not reading all that
perfect example of why you think bonds is the best ever. because when it comes to baseball history, or how to properly evaluate players, you "wouldnt read all that" dear lord its 20,000 pages or more before you could even know who is the goat, let alone be qualified to tell others who it may be. i totally believe youre not reading all that.@@InDepthBaseballYT
