I have been saying for a while now that they should re-release the original Naked palettes with an updated formula. I haven’t watched yet to see how well they did, but I think it is a good move for them. And right now is the best time to do it, with the shift back towards neutral makeup AND 2016 makeup style being more popular. I hope they did it right. I’d love some sparkly neutral shades and good, creamy mattes. ETA: Disappointed! They had a great opportunity to make this something special, but instead it looks just like the original. It’s a pretty palette, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t see how it’s “updated.”

Compared to 2, this one was warmer. However, after the sea of 24k, plum, and brown palettes of the past few years, this one now looks neutral for sure.
Truthfully, I think it's difficult to compare color and quality of a 14 year old palette to a brand new one. That being said, it's cool seeing them side by side!! And, I'm thrilled to have one on the way to me!!

My OG palette came with the double ended eye liner too 😅 I’m really considering getting a fresh one but my OG one is really in great condition 😊 I think I used it once … I wasn’t great at doing my makeup then & I didn’t have my fude brushes I have now 🎉 I’m sure I prob don’t need a new one but I still want it 😂 I have all my three OG naked palettes & I keep my makeup clean & pristine … I also have naked heat (love it) & kinda recently grabbed honey (on sale) … but that naked palette really started it all for me as I’m sure for many others so it’s so nostalgic in my heart ❤ I’ll prob grab the new one anyway 🤣💃🏻

Great comparison between the original vs the 2024 version! I picked up the ND I Need a Nude palette, the Glam palette, the Xenon ( midi ) and the Yucca during the ND Summer sale last month so I have to pass on this one but it’s a lovely cool toned palette. You look amazing Heather ❣️

Of course the colors aren’t going to be ‘identical’ being that the original is 14 years old. That being said, I’m impressed that 14 year old shadows still apply and blend so well. I have a curbside order waiting to be picked up today. Can’t wait! ❤

Yey! I've got it and 10x pounts in Ulta today. My old one (from 2010) turned bad and was decluttered. I'm glad it is back because it is so easy and quick to use.
I have my old Naked palette that has several panned shadows in it. I have partially panned Buck,Half Baked and Toasted. Brought a backup and gave it to my Mom but was later sorry that I hadn't kept it. I have lots of dupes but plan to buy this new one since I loved the original so much. I ran to Ulta yesterday and purchased! ❤ Great video. My daughter is getting married in November and I can almost guarantee she will be wearing the updated OG Naked palette. I’m so glad they brought this palette back.
It's so strange I do not remember the original naked palette being this cool toned. Naked 2 was the cool toned one. Am I crazy? I mean I see you here with the past and present but I'm in denial.
Yup it’s always been super cool toned. Which is why I never bought them back then. They were super Ashy and light on my skin tone😭 Well the lighter mattes.
This palette was my first purchase at Ulta! After I got this you could not tell me anything 😊 I had arrived 😂 I had my for years and when we moved last year it broke 💔 while I would like to have it for memories I can't justify the purchase
I still have, and use, my old naked palettes. Naked 2 is definitely my favorite and I'm hoping they bring it back as well, since I've hit pan in my last remaining naked 2 palette. I'll definitely pick up this one though!

I bought one thanks for posting they are available now I bought one. This was the first palette me and my mom looked everywhere for all the stores we finally found it in a different state it took us 1.5 yrs to find it from when it launched. My mom passed away in 2022 I have her original UD palettes that are used one in a memory box I’ll keep forever. I had to buy myself a new one for the memories so excited to have this again. I used my original one for years until it was hard panned on a lot of the shades so I had to let that one go. Picking up my new one today and having all the feels about it.❤

I prefer the undertones of the shadows in the original. Sad that they changed a few of the shades to make them a bit cooler and blue based in the new version 😢

It's interesting that they did a reboot. At the time it came out, it was the only brand doing a palette like this. It's still pretty, but the formulas are dim in comparison to Natasha Denona and Sigma. I will stick to my stash for these looks and leave my Urban Decay for the memories and ideas.I love the resurgence of cool tones! I'm just nor an orange/yellow girl. Your looks are beautiful 💚💐💚
Smog is clearly so different in the pan and on a swatch, do you really think it was equal once used in the look? Would love to see a smog only smoked out eye to see if it’s noticeable in that look. Thanks for the comparison!

Aug 4 2024 the day we have been screaming for for years! I still use my OG Naked and have one new old backup. Don’t think they could be exactly the same but bought 2 new ones today at Ulta. I have only ever had the cherry naked palette from UD and I always found their palettes too powdery and dusty. I prefer the formula from ND and ABH more as they are more pigmented and less dusty. Also the longitudinal pans were something I was never a fan off, despite how popular these palettes used to be
It could be the colors are different because the old ones have oxidized. That would mean they show up warmer, more reddish, more orangey. I think UD planned to bring back the OG all along. Same with ABH bringing back their LE palettes periodically. I think they saw the cool toned trend and decided now was the time to make some cash. And I think their recent palettes have not paid out like they thought, so why not give something they KNOW their followers would want?
I could spy with my little eye the slight differences. But, once the looks were complete they looked pretty much the same. I’m not running out to get this palette because I only purchase indie brand shadows. I feel they have the best formulas and I love spending my money to support the indie community. ❤
I love UD and have many naked palettes amongst other fabulous palettes they put out ... and still use them. I give zero Fs what anyone, any trend, any social media says about it. It's only about what I like and what works for me😁🤣🤣🤣💜

I owned the original it is 1 of the few i ever decluttered, I really hate long skinny eyeshadow pans in a palette. It went to a good home, my bf's daughter got it and i believe she totally used up every shade.
I had the very first run (with the eyeliner) palette and I LOVED it. I was so sad when it started to irritate my eyes a few years ago. I guess 10 years of use was too much, even with regular cleaning. I don't like the change in shades in the new formula even though I prefer cool tones. I'll be passing. The feeling is long gone and I don't want to ruin it. lol
I wasn’t exited on the original UD, and I’m a neutral person. It’s not exciting to me, the newer or older one. I guess I was looking for a more variation of cooler tones in neutrals… more extreme lights, to mid tones, to dark in shimmers and matte shades. Just what I look for when buying pallets.
That was First high end pallet and I used it until I hit pan on so many colors. It was my only pallet for YEARS back when I had a small makeup bag of stuff I used every single day.

I bought my first original Naked YEARS ago. But when they said they were discontinuing it in 2018 I bought a fresh one. And so far the 2018 is still perfectly fine so after seeing this i don't think i need the new one lol. But if it's going to discontinue again, I'll probably grab one to leave in the box. The way Urban Decay has been for me so far, i can use them for a decade or more LOL. I've yet to have a palette go bad on me.

U always look good in all colors of palettes, I just don't feel like that color story would look good on me. But, I did get a sample of the Tom Ford Architecture foundation! Its beautiful, very Perfecting , Blurring! I did add some flawless filter glow Charlottle Tilbury
to it. I will buy a full bottle of it..... but I will have to save up. Its 150.00, I feel its worth it though. I will wear for special occasions, church, date night with hubby etc. I got bisque, they gave me a very generous sample!

So, do you clean your brush before dipping back in after spraying it with setting spray? If not, wouldn’t that produce bacteria anyway? I’m just trying to fully understand the method because I like to keep anything going on my eyes as clean as possible.

For that proce point I really would prefer getting an indie palette. First Gal on Jupiter by GlossGods for example is a shimmer heavy cool toned palette and more affordable.

It's interesting that they did a reboot. At the time it came out, it was the only brand doing a palette like this. It's still pretty, but the formulas are dim in comparison to Natasha Denona and Sigma. I will stick to my stash for these looks and leave my Urban Decay for the memories and ideas.I love the resurgence of cool tones! I'm just nor an orange/yellow girl. Your looks are beautiful 💚💐💚
Smog is clearly so different in the pan and on a swatch, do you really think it was equal once used in the look? Would love to see a smog only smoked out eye to see if it’s noticeable in that look. Thanks for the comparison!

Aug 4 2024 the day we have been screaming for for years! I still use my OG Naked and have one new old backup. Don’t think they could be exactly the same but bought 2 new ones today at Ulta. Sooo happy to see your review Heather thanks! I Hope it goes over so big they make it permanent like it should be! Yay!,🎉❤
I have only ever had the cherry naked palette from UD and I always found their palettes too powdery and dusty. I prefer the formula from ND and ABH more as they are more pigmented and less dusty. Also the longitudinal pans were something I was never a fan off, despite how popular these palettes used to be
It could be the colors are different because the old ones have oxidized. That would mean they show up warmer, more reddish, more orangey.
I think UD planned to bring back the OG all along. Same with ABH bringing back their LE palettes periodically. I think they saw the cool toned trend and decided now was the time to make some cash. And I think their recent palettes have not paid out like they thought, so why not give something they KNOW their followers would want?
I could spy with my little eye the slight differences. But, once the looks were complete they looked pretty much the same.
I’m not running out to get this palette because I only purchase indie brand shadows. I feel they have the best formulas and I love spending my money to support the indie community. ❤
I love UD and have many naked palettes amongst other fabulous palettes they put out ... and still use them. I give zero Fs what anyone, any trend, any social media says about it. It's only about what I like and what works for me😁🤣🤣🤣💜

I owned the original it is 1 of the few i ever decluttered, I really hate long skinny eyeshadow pans in a palette. It went to a good home, my bf's daughter got it and i believe she totally used up every shade.
I had the very first run (with the eyeliner) palette and I LOVED it. I was so sad when it started to irritate my eyes a few years ago. I guess 10 years of use was too much, even with regular cleaning. I don't like the change in shades in the new formula even though I prefer cool tones. I'll be passing. The feeling is long gone and I don't want to ruin it. lol
I wasn’t exited on the original UD, and I’m a neutral person. It’s not exciting to me, the newer or older one. I guess I was looking for a more variation of cooler tones in neutrals… more extreme lights, to mid tones, to dark in shimmers and matte shades. Just what I look for when buying pallets.
That was First high end pallet and I used it until I hit pan on so many colors. It was my only pallet for YEARS back when I had a small makeup bag of stuff I used every single day.
Heather i would like to know if this is comparable to the huda pretty grunge or ND glam pallete. You are beautiful as always ❤
I held it next to the Glam palette for color story but UD does not have a similar formula at all to Natasha or Huda🖤

Thanks for sharing the original with the new. I have the original too. Honest, can’t tell a difference. If you have the old palette and haven’t used it much like me, no need to buy another. And I barely used mine. 😬😊

I bought my first original Naked YEARS ago. But when they said they were discontinuing it in 2018 I bought a fresh one. And so far the 2018 is still perfectly fine so after seeing this i don't think i need the new one lol. But if it's going to discontinue again, I'll probably grab one to leave in the box. The way Urban Decay has been for me so far, i can use them for a decade or more LOL. I've yet to have a palette go bad on me.
Naked 2 was my jam back in the day. I’m on the fence with this since I have almost all the ND midis. We will see if I cave or not.
this makes me want to pull out my OG one. I bought it in 2018 when they were discontinuing it. I loved this palette. Then stopped using it b.c. it was discontinued lol

I think lots of us have most of these older pallets. Can you do a video on the differences between say the Naked original palette and the Naked Smokey one? So many of these color schemes look interchangeable? Thank you.

U always look good in all colors of palettes, I just don't feel like that color story would look good on me. But, I did get a sample of the Tom Ford Architecture foundation! Its beautiful, very Perfecting , Blurring! I did add some flawless filter glow Charlottle Tilbury
to it. I will buy a full bottle of it..... but I will have to save up. Its 150.00, I feel its worth it though. I will wear for special occasions, church, date night with hubby etc. I got bisque, they gave me a very generous sample!

Buck was the 1 color I loved so much. I’m bummed that one changed. I used it for everything, including my brows.
Keep in mind my palette is 14 years old now. It may be worth looking at in store if it’s your favorite 🥰

I just found out that UD re-released this palette and jumped on it. I've been crying for it for years. My original one is still useful, but I worry about using such an old palette.

So, do you clean your brush before dipping back in after spraying it with setting spray? If not, wouldn’t that produce bacteria anyway? I’m just trying to fully understand the method because I like to keep anything going on my eyes as clean as possible.

This palette was my first purchase at Ulta! After I got this you could not tell me anything 😊 I had arrived 😂 I had my for years and when we moved last year it broke 💔 while I would like to have it for memories I can't justify the purchase
Could this be their attempt to end once and for all the NAKED line? Better formulas out there now and this though nostalgic isn’t worth the hefty price tag for sub par quality. Love the comparison.
For that proce point I really would prefer getting an indie palette. First Gal on Jupiter by GlossGods for example is a shimmer heavy cool toned palette and more affordable.
I have this palette, but now I must know if it is an updated formula.
I was excited but some of my favorite colors look different so I'm not getting it :(
