I swatched what I think is a new formula Naked palette in store and was soooo disappointed by the formula, it didn't swatch as beautifully as your OG Naked did here
It's fine if you had a new proper/corporate job or you're a student who has to cosplay as a professional and you wanted something you can't f*ck up...and you're pale. I can see how it was a game changer at the time because most eyeshadows were 💩
I bought mine around the time it was being discontinued. Pulled it out this week and it’s still performing well, I was able to do some nice simple work appropriate looks and I like it. I love that it’s still going strong at 5-6 years old, it’s a great value palette and it’s interesting that it’s coming back.
For a beginner or someone who works in a very conservative office the Naked colors are just lovely. Of course, the Glaminatrix pallette also covers the same ground, with party colors as a bonus!❤❤❤
I bought a Naked in 2018 before it was discontinued. It’s almost done (I only wear it to the office which is two days a week) I will definitely be getting another one. It’s perfect for the type of office I work in where no-one where’s anything to full on.
I feel like this is the best timing to bring it back. I feel like the eye trends now are more subtle/everyday type looks, which is easy to get from this palette. I plan on repurchasing one tomorrow.
I'm 43 and still love playing with bold colours and formulas. However, if all my makeup collection disappeared and I had to chose just one palette to replace them all, I'd probably choose the Naked 1. I'm getting older, and the formula has always been great on my textured eyelids. Also, working in a consevative environment, that's the safer option for the years to come😆I still have my old original one, and it performs beautfifully. I'll definitely grab a fresh one if I can find it!❤
I'd love to see you swatch the new pallet with the old one! I never owned the first one, but I've purchased many naked pallets. I don't think I'll buy it but I'd like you to change my mind 😄
Hi Kat I never bought the original naked palette but I bought the naked 2 on discount as it was being discontinued. I’m 52 and the UD formula actually works pretty well on older lids as it’s thinner/buildable. For everyday I like satin and matte eyeshadow with a bit of shine on the centre of the lid. These UD palettes do provide that and they were available for a very long time for a reason. However I prefer the Viseart shadow formula now and the original naked palette was a bit warmer than I would want. I’m not buying it but there are probably many who will be. Best wishes x
I bought the OG on launch day 2010. Decluttered it in 2015 since I'd hit pan on most. This is a pallette for everyone as more complex looks are great for special nights but not everyday wearable in a work environment. This hits all the marks (quick easy out the door, no makeup makeup, work friendly)
I always wanted that palette, but it was too expensive for me at the time. Maybe I will have to try it this go around 😮 also, this looks frigging stunning on you.
I've never owned a Naked palette, but boy oh boy do I wish I could find the Naked Smoky palette these days. The blue-grey gunmetal tones in that would be perfect for concerts or parties for me. Fingers crossed they might bring it back at some point too (unlikely lol but I can hope)
I still have mine! Purchased in 2010? Such a great, everyday work palette. Panned several shades but stopped using it around the time the discontinued it with the intention of getting a new one but missed out.
I still have MOST of my Naked pallet. I depotted it and the Naked 2 into one pallet. I got rid of the super deep shades and some of the others that I didn’t use very much. I got it for my Highschool graduation in 2013. The formula is still going strong! I’m with you though… for the price, I think it’s not worth it anymore. I’d probably recommend a colourpop pallet or something to a basic makeup wearer at this point. I might would recommend a tarte pallet if someone is adamant they want a higher end one. There just a few too many shades in this specific pallet that I don’t think are super relevant or good quality in relation to what’s available now.
I missed out the first time round but I am buying this the second it is available on the Sephora Canada site. I might stay up to see if I can buy it right after midnight.
Thanks for busting out the OG! I never owned any of the Naked palettes, and I'm not inclined to start. I own a bunch of Sydney Grace singles (I store in magnetic palettes) to give my collection a strong neutral backbone, then buy the occasional Clionadh multichrome and palettes from other indie brands. Once you go indie, you never go Sephora for eyeshadow again. ❤
My first eye shadow palette.... it actually looked decent on a deep skin tone... the shades you disliked, I used on repeat... impressive that it's still working for you! I still find it beautiful, but I wouldn't get it again.
I completely agree! I still have mine and I’ll keep it but if I didn’t have it I’d spend my money on better palettes (like barely basic). I preferred other naked color stories to this one anyway.
Thank you for explaining exactly what I was thinking about this new Naked palette! They didn't change their formula for the better it's still like the 2010 version. But the price is 2024. Better options are available. Keeping my old trusty Naked palette.
I love cool tones! They look best on me. I was not happy when we started getting the warm nudes. They are okay. I think I’m gonna but it because of this. I also purchased the makeup by Mario cool tone matte palette. I think they will pair great!!!
In 2018 I got sort of out of elaborate makeup because of the job I had, and the Naked 2 was my got to. Easy, reliable, good sturdy packaging to take with me. I have 4 or 5 Naked palettes, but that one is the one I got real history with :)
I was so mad. I kept thinking….oh it’s a Naked palette…they will keep it awhile. I decided I wanted it after I had gotten Naked 2 (my favorite one). I went back for it and I couldn’t find the original anywhere. The third one I didn’t like the shades. Years and years later…in 2022, I looked it up on Mercari and got the original and the Smokey one for $34. I was so happy to get the original. I’m tempted to get a fresh one though.
Love naked 2 as well had to toss it last year and was devastated when I saw it wasn’t made anymore. So I got something else. Just bought the naked and I’m glad I’ll have one again
I’m amongst the youngest of Gen X. I didn’t buy this palette when I was younger and regretted it. When I saw it was being relaunched I knew now was the time. Purchased it online early this morning and am about to head out the door to pick it up. Very excited!
Thank you! Annoyingly it is releasing at the end of Oct here, so by the time I have access to it it will be OLD news. I hate staggard releases that way, it is really unfair to makeup reviewers who live outside the US
I like the colour story of the original naked pallete but there are so many other options with the same colour story now that are much better quality and for a more affordable price.
I ordered it today. I have been after Burberry’s single eyeshadow “pale barley” for the Longest time and from some swatches online I feel like either sidecar or smog will fall into that shade’s category. 🤞🏼
Hi Kat! I still have the original Naked and the Naked Smokey and they both still perform amazingly. Still buttery and blends like a dream. I will never declutter them. I agree the price point is a bit too high but then again if the new formula holds up like the original I think it’s worth it. 🤷🏾♀️
I bought the new Naked pallette and just followed along with what you did. It's wild how much warmer these shadows are on me! Still pretty, but it definitely doesn't pull cool on me.
I have been tempted… also by the makeup by Mario cool neutrals. Then I remembered I’m more of a one and done. I will buy one or two singles from Glaminatrix or Phytosurgence and be happy with that.
I never got a chance to pick up the original. I’m definitely getting it this time. I’m getting back to makeup after nearly a decade of not wearing any, and I need something easy to grab for Zoom meetings. lol I did and still do the light shade under the eyebrow. I do it because it’s a reference to Marilyn Monroe’s makeup and I do my makeup very 1940’s or 1950’s most of the time.
I think most women would go for the naked palette over the high shimmer or bold eyeshadows especially for every day. I could only use the naked palette for the rest of my life and be perfectly content, and it has the perfect true neutral tones.
And they can get them… for $15 from drugstore brands with similar formulas 😆 There is a huge spectrum of finishes from Naked to indie. You don’t have to just have basic or bold. I enjoy the Naked, but it’s not worth the money these days.
@@KitschSnitch I have never been able to find a palette that matches the quality from the drugstore and never found a palette in general that has the perfect neutrals that the naked palette had. But hey if you know of some please tell me! Also there is a new formula and I would think the old palettes have lost their quality at this point.
@@KitschSnitchyou are so right. If I was to suggest an eye shadow to a new user I’d recommend a mega Colourpop palette and I think that formula would be nicer with enough variation to make it fun and aud$20-25 cheaper. Or for a person who has one palette for work and uses it to death then buys a new one I’d suggest a viseart, cheaper for an entendu than a naked.
I had this beloved palette until 2019 when it got smashed to $hit!! So I definitely will be picking it up! 🎉❤Can’t believe this is the palette I’m most excited about! 😂
I bought the Naked 3 palette in 2018 and I’m still using regularly. It’s the most used palette I own far more than Pat McGrath. I think I might get this one but I might also try a mini. I’ve never even hit pan!
I pre-ordered the Glaminatrix palette and was also considering this one (I never had the original) but I agree with what you said for the price! It’s ridiculous for the color story imo. I basically paid $10 more for the Glaminatrix one and I know I’m getting so much better shimmers in that one. What changed my mind in buying this Naked palette is realizing they’re charging for nostalgia, and since I don’t have any real attachment to it (or an extra $60 laying around to spare) I will definitely skip on this.
I still have and use my Naked Smoky Palette and I panned my Naked 2 Palette a few years ago. As an ex-pro dancer, these palettes were perfect because they were so versatile. I could wear them during my day to day and for shows & performances. However, now that the beauty industry has moved on and formulas have improved, I don't see myself purchasing from Urban Decay anymore. For the price point, I think there is better stuff on the market. But I do appreciate the nostalgia from UD in this rerelease. If anyone can recommend any amazing cool tone neutral eyeshadow palettes, let me know! xx
It's pretty, but it's so plain and basic in comparison to everything else I currently own! I'm trying to decide if I want it again, or whether I just hold off. I have until October to decide. :)
I started getting into makeup in 2017, and I was all about bold color on the eye. The last year or two I’m more interested in easy office appropriate eyeshadow. I’m going to order this palette after the video. I’ll use points at Ulta so the purchase makes sense.
I only at the minute own naked pallets I have a small Huda one which I haven’t used I bought the naked 2 and have been gifted the reloaded, heat and the cherry. I don’t really wear eyeshadow and keep myself on a no buy am I missing out. I thought I enjoyed the reloaded but realised I never used it for a full look, the heat and cherry the shades seem similar
I prefer the color design of Sigma (cool neutrals) palette over the OG NAKED ! It covers all the tones ranging from cool to warm & a bit of pink that flatter my medium/tan skin with olive undertone & the depth of colors is more balanced than the naked palette , which has more light shades & it darkens to Greys. Also, Sigma's shimmery formula is modern & elegant 👌 Natasha denona Glam palette is another good example of a similar idea of naked, too , although I didn't own it or try it .
I bought the naked 1 and 2 about a decade ago, realised I liked half the shades in both and then frankensteined it into the naked 2 packaging to create the ultimate nude palatte. It's the only palatte I own today
When it reached my country , possibly post peak of the popularity ( it arrived together with naked 2 ) I couldn't afford it and I also was into transition and crease shades and a bit more warm colors so I bought the zoeva minis in caramel melange and the other dessert inspired neutral. The formula as good and I haven't looked back. From Ud I just bought two singles a silver and a purple in that bulky round packagint
At the height of its popularity I couldn‘t afford it, and I will not buy it now. It still gives me nostalgic feels though 😊 At some point I had UD Naked Honey and I decluttered it because for me the formula was not good enough and the colour story was not what I imagined on me. Now i have the Need A Nude from Natasha Denona which is probably more like Naked 3 (?) but safisfies my need for cooler/neutral tones, almost brainless makeup, but has a superb formula 😊 And you‘re right, for what they are charging, there are so many other, more affordable brands to choose from and you still get nicer formula in my opinion, like BH Cosmetics (still around? Not sure), Colourpop or even cheaper indie brands like Glam Shop.
NAY for me. This isn't nostalgia UD for me. This basic work makeup is the complete opposite of what UD originally was back in late 80s/early 90s. Back then, the brand catered to the punk look, piercings, tats, club and druggie makeup. They had metallic liquid eye paints in little glass old fashioned medicine bottles, with a brush in the lid. Black kohl and black liquid liners, deep matte lipsticks in jewel tones. Back then, UD was sold in homeopathy pharmacies and natural food stores. Where Punk and hippie girls went for natural feminine products, and birth control stuff. UD was closer to what KVD was, but minus the church window aspect, more graffiti and biker.
I never picked it up but always put it off because I always assumed it would be available and I’d get around to it. I think I might have to get it this time. I’m really into neutrals and the satin shimmer finish rather than the sparkly ones for everyday.
The listing on UD and Ulta's site says "back by popular demand" but I don't that believe at all. The brand is stuck in 2014 and instead of a much needed overhaul of their entire line and formulas, it's re-releasing a 20+ yr old discontinued palette, seemingly trying to jump on a nostalgia trend that's nothing new itself.
I have used their eye pencils for years, but they have become so overpriced that I have shopped around for similar colors and have had luck with that. They could stand a nice blush line and a revamped lipstick line.
So excited it’s coming to Australia (UD releases here are always so delayed). My original palette would be 12 years old and I’ve never been able to part with it but been too scared to use it cos of the age. I loved it cos it wasn’t orange or grey.
When I first got into makeup, Naked palette was the only palette I had for like 7 years, but I only use "half baked" most of the time. That was before I understand why I need use matte on my eyes. LOL oh, the memories! I don't think I will get a new one because I just bought the Glaminatrix Barely Basic Palette. It probably has better quality than UD
I remember the beauty gurus going crazy for the Morphe 35O palette with the warm orange tones. I agree there are way better formulas out there now at that price point, I've kept my OG naked palette for nostalgia reasons, too old to use on my eyes!
I can see why this one stood the rest of time. I just never really enjoyed it, since I don't wear a ton of shimmers or cool tones. They just made me look grey.
I would be so interested to see a comparison with the new formula. It might not be a huge difference because UD typically keeps the palette formula kind of low key for ease of use for all levels. Still though, I’d love to see a comparison!
I use a quad at the moment, trying to finish it, but it is taking tor ever. I personally like single eyeshadow, after this will go back to my Mac single shadow 🙂 I do t think big palette are not relevant anymore, at least for my lifestyle.
i still have my naked 2 palette from when UD first released it hahahaha. i don't use it anymore since it's So Old already, but i don't have the heart to throw it away since it's my very first big girl palette ;u;a
No, I am so over big pallets,. People that are using boring makup are using brozners and highliters or an eyeshadow quads. I think this will only be bought by people that will feel nostalgia, not the ones that need makup. Also... not for this price :)
I had the Naked 2 and ended up decluttering it several years ago, only to start having some serious regrets about it recently. I've never been able to nicely dupe most of the palette, and I'm lowkey staring at this Naked 1 release like... maybe I need it to fill the void?
It’s FOURTEEN years ago, even 🙈Good think they updated the formula, because I feel like we have better textures on the market right now. But back then it was definitely revolutionary.
I’m so torn. I want it for nostalgia, but I still have my original one and it looks so underused even tho I remember using it all the time. If they brought naked 2 tho I would buy it so fast
I’m torn on whether to buy it. I loved the original, used it all the time (easy, quick workday makeup) and while I still wear “boring” eye makeup on workdays, I just don’t know that I need this when I already have this kind of color in better, newer formulas.
The naked palette tones never quite suited me, everything pulled a little cheeto. My equivalent (and very much used) everyday palette is the Viseart Petite Cool Mattes. The browns, blues, greys and purples in it are gorgeous on my skin (very pale, cool toned) and nothing pulls super warm. Bonus points for the tiny size. I've had it since it's initial launch and none of the colours are close to pan yet. Everyone needs their ideal basics palette, if it's Naked for you, that's awesome. There are so many choices now though, compared with it's initial release.
I saved so much to get this palette but idk it just seems like I wasn’t a fan of the formula. Maybe because I compared it to abh and Nars in 2017 when I bought all these palettes
I never bought the original, and I am not planning to do it now. I wanted Naked 3 (the pinky one), but I own the Naked Cherry and I don't think the formula is special enough for the prices they ask for!
Improved formula and ok color story, but I wouldn't buy it. For me, I don't like going back in time. Having this palette or any products that i associate with certain years would make me think of my life in those years. I'm not about that. The shades i have in other palettes so this would just be a repeat of them. Alsk, wanna bet who else is gonna do this type of relaunch? I think TooFaced is already planning 😂
Let's chat! UD Naked Palette YAY or NAY?
I swatched what I think is a new formula Naked palette in store and was soooo disappointed by the formula, it didn't swatch as beautifully as your OG Naked did here
Yay🎉
Yay! I still have mine from eons ago. Will I repurchase to have a fresh palette? Probably not. Even the eye look was simple, it was very pretty.

Achieving that look was quick and effortless. That’s the beauty of an OG palette. A staple for getting ready in the mornings and heading out the door.
A lot of, even drugstore, palettes can achieve that quick and effortless look too these days ☺️

Mercari. I bought both palettes together for $34 in 2022.
I still have mine! Purchased in 2010? Such a great, everyday work palette. Panned several shades but stopped using it around the time the discontinued it with the intention of getting a new one but missed out.
UD eyeshadows and there palettes are my favorite! Great to see that they are bringing that palette back
The nostalgia for Christmas when I turned 18 my sister took me to Sephora to get this.

I missed out the first time round but I am buying this the second it is available on the Sephora Canada site. I might stay up to see if I can buy it right after midnight.
This was one of the first “expensive “ palettes I purchased . I even have a pic of when I got it . I want to get it again
Same here! I even had to order mine from an international store because UD wasn't in Australia yet haha

I still have my original (I don’t use it often course), but I definitely would be interested in picking up a new one.
Gold, bronze and the mattes - amazing. Rest - plain. Now I still have that palette and the formula hasn't changed a lot so I will give them that!!
Really happy to get a new one , I love this palette ! Great neutrals are my favorites ! I wish we could get the naked smokey again ...

Ah! Your base looks so glowing and healthy! Gorgeous! Did you run a little blush across the bridge of your nose? If so, what blush? It looks divine❤
Princess Catherine uses the Naked Palette too🌹💖
I only at the minute own naked pallets I have a small Huda one which I haven’t used I bought the naked 2 and have been gifted the reloaded, heat and the cherry. I don’t really wear eyeshadow and keep myself on a no buy am I missing out. I thought I enjoyed the reloaded but realised I never used it for a full look, the heat and cherry the shades seem similar
I was a struggling student when it first came out so will probably purchase so I don't miss out again!!
Also, Sigma's shimmery formula is modern & elegant 👌
Natasha denona Glam palette is another good example of a similar idea of naked, too , although I didn't own it or try it .
This palette is perfect for my ageing eyelids and the colors/textures are very nice.
October 29! I’ll have forgotten by then lol
Nay for me... i have Nabla for low key/office days... otherwise i'm too used with Natasha Denona, Pat Mcgrath shimmers 😁
I never had this palette, but now I’m pairing down my eye looks, I would love it.
$95!!! No thanks.
I think you’re spot on with the recommendation
So excited it’s coming to Australia (UD releases here are always so delayed). My original palette would be 12 years old and I’ve never been able to part with it but been too scared to use it cos of the age. I loved it cos it wasn’t orange or grey.
Make sure you swatch the new one before replacing your old one, apparently its a little more warm toned
@@KitschSnitch I will do, thanks for the tip! You’re one of the few RUclipsrs whose opinion I trust ☺️
I hope it’s around longer, as I still have the palette from when they discontinued it. It still has a few more years left before I toss it.
Just bought Natasha denona I need a warm palette. Should I return and buy this one instead ?😮
You've got to get the new one to see if the shades are the same!
There's a few videos on this and I chose yours to watch! Authentic and genuine. Do I get brownie points? 😊
Yes you do! Thank you ❤❤❤
I remember the beauty gurus going crazy for the Morphe 35O palette with the warm orange tones. I agree there are way better formulas out there now at that price point, I've kept my OG naked palette for nostalgia reasons, too old to use on my eyes!
And I really wish to see old vs new version swatches, and also UD vs ND Gold 💛
I do still have mine i need to pull it out and have a play for sure
I can see why this one stood the rest of time. I just never really enjoyed it, since I don't wear a ton of shimmers or cool tones. They just made me look grey.
I would be so interested to see a comparison with the new formula. It might not be a huge difference because UD typically keeps the palette formula kind of low key for ease of use for all levels. Still though, I’d love to see a comparison!
I would love to do one, but it doesn't launch here until late Oct! 😩
I use a quad at the moment, trying to finish it, but it is taking tor ever. I personally like single eyeshadow, after this will go back to my Mac single shadow 🙂 I do t think big palette are not relevant anymore, at least for my lifestyle.
i still have my naked 2 palette from when UD first released it hahahaha. i don't use it anymore since it's So Old already, but i don't have the heart to throw it away since it's my very first big girl palette ;u;a
Never bought it and now would get the Glaminatrix pallet instead
It’s excellent
Love your lipstick in this video, please share the details.
It looks really nice 🤣
No, I am so over big pallets,. People that are using boring makup are using brozners and highliters or an eyeshadow quads. I think this will only be bought by people that will feel nostalgia, not the ones that need makup. Also... not for this price :)
I had the Naked 2 and ended up decluttering it several years ago, only to start having some serious regrets about it recently. I've never been able to nicely dupe most of the palette, and I'm lowkey staring at this Naked 1 release like... maybe I need it to fill the void?
I did some sleuthing on the ingredients list and Sidecar's new ingredient list is very similar to the Moondust shades.
I’m so sad that it isn’t available in Germany 😢 I would’ve bought it 😍
Just saw it comes September 6th to the EU. I’m waiting 😬
Yeah, nah. Didn't have it then, not really interested now. But wasn't that comparison to the new Glaminatrix telling
Before the Naked Palette went away, I bought a new one to replace my old one. I actually haven’t touched it; even though, I love the color story
I’m curious if they’ll update the formula. Might pull mine out to reuse it.
Oh, just watched further into you video to see the answer. 😊😊😊
I would hope for a better quality and the same colors!
I saved so much to get this palette but idk it just seems like I wasn’t a fan of the formula. Maybe because I compared it to abh and Nars in 2017 when I bought all these palettes
Yay but not for $60!
I wish they had fixed the packaging and maybe added a few things.
I have my naked palette from 2018. It’s an ok palette but if it was released today for the 1 st time I wouldn’t buy it.
Great point!
🙃💜 I'm not going to buy this due to not liking the brand and the awful price. You're the only person I'm giving a view to on this!
Thank you! I totally feel you ❤️
