I see what you did there. At first thought you were crazy for cutting the supplied power cord, but nice solution!
Its the only way to have both 12v power Poles and Ac adapter. thank you
Fantastic demo Frank, been thinking about getting one for portable ham only now i'm going to have to go forth.
THey are hard to find, but my current one isn't boot any more. Sad day
Thanks Frank. I bought a Surface 4 for a good price, also works on 12vdc but is quicker. Now I just need a HF 📻.
That's interesting I'm going to have to look into it
Used it this weekend for a ham demo in a Houston Park. It, WL on Win 10, Digirig, FTM 6000, did everything OK.
Its an Awesome POTA light weight computer.
@@TankRadio POTA, e-comms, MSWE, FD, back up computer....
And can be changed on 12v. That is Anderson possible.
Fellow Abrams Tanker
I love the Abrams tank, i wish to drive or be in one 1day.
Microcenter has them in stock again for $79.99.
Rock on, I still feel like they're a gamble on quality though
Do you still use your Maestro for POTA if not what are you using. Also thank you for card and Sapphire sticker for recent QSO
No, my Maestro computer bit the bullet pretty hard. I found the manufacturer be no help for support. Currently I'm using my Dell XPS, which is really overkill however that's all I have right now. Awesome, congrats I'm not giving those out a lot, i love those Sapphire stickers. 73
I took the cellular modem out of mine and installed a SSD in its place. The later models of this $60 laptop do not have the SATA connector so check first.
Thats awesome, i will look into that.
@@TankRadio watch Ria's Hamshack video on how to do it.
My Evolve III ran about 3 total hours and failed. Trying to fix the OS.
I started having issues just after this recording. I'm trying to work through it before I make videos on it
The Evolve Maestro III is a total piece of $h1T. Mine was brand-new and is now unusable after a few hours. The battery is utter junk. Emailing support gets you a "not my job" response and instructions to a different email that never gets answered. Calling the toll-free number gets you a forced "Life Alert" sales pitch then you NEVER get through to the support staff. Save your money. This is a total waste and a rip-off that's going to the next electronic recycling day event. The computer does not work, and neither does their support staff. Smells like a scam. That means it usually is. I was with you 100% on the POTA and 12v aspects. I'll just go back to my boat anchor name-brand machine that POTA's like a champ. 73 and good POTA.
