PLEASE HELP ME find the correct string of text to use to make Cincinnati cam work for me. I've been trying for 4 days. Can't figure it out. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME
This is a fabulous Dashboard. I had no issues getting it up and running (Using Safari on a Mac) and then put it permanently on a Raspi with its own monitor (a retired TV monitor.) I was able to modify several of the individual items to reflect my current location, and I've been adding a couple of local cameras as well, substituting for weather info that was redundant. The screen that results was an infinitely modifiable 12-item display, easily set up in the Config file. One of the most useful programs I have. A great job putting it together.
@@Charlie-Bee The dashboard supports mpeg, mp4, etc. video formats that will show live video. Some cameras offer only stills shots that the source refreshes every number of seconds. You can configure the refreshing time to match the source in the configuration section variable constDelay. The values are in milliseconds.
Excellent video and a cool dashboard. I had no issues setting it up and I have embedded live video from RUclips from two live streams with no issues. Thank you!
You could load it on the Pi and run the 10 second web server ruclips.net/video/1SgX3Cwqi9Q/видео.html in the same directory which would serve it to your local network.
Hi Jason, thank you for featuring the dashboard. You do a much better job explaining how to set it up. I will add a link to your video from mine. 73, Pablo
@@KM4ACK I've seen a little bit of Field Day setups. Do you have anywhere on your forums that people share info on their Field day setups? We have an aerial map, and I can share our network topologies. We keep each of our 4 stations about 200ft apart. That keeps interference down.

Very cool. I'd imagine you could also add security cameras that are on your network, local weather cameras, or local DOT traffic cameras...anything with an autorefreshing web address.
I am trying to set this up, customizing the squares and I find if I use a website it says "Fail to Load Image", It seems that these squares can only display an image as opposed to an actual website, is this correct? I can change websites on the button on the side tho and it works properly
Great video/tutorial ..... Question and suggestion. Do you have to have 12 small windows, or can you delete 6 entries and have the remaking 6 be larger? Or will there be 6 blank windows showing? And it looks like you could put any web link as one of the windows, one could be very creative with that.
If you want to change the Lightning Local to include your area in the config.js file, try this. To center on florida, change the portion of the URL that reads .../image_b_ny.png to ...image_b_fl.png. The same will work for Minnesota (ny changed to mn) or California (ny changes to ca). Want to center on the Dominican Republic? change those two letters from ny to dr.
I put my hamclock on a tab because it wouldn't load the bmp image. It's there and interactive and kind of prefer that over a pane, but it doesn't fit the screen, it's to big. Is there a way to shrink it to fit?
Great tool... 2 things both Hamclock related. To get Hamclock on the right side menu pull out to work, I had to use ip address plus :8081/live.html vs. :8080. Hamclock had to be running to get it to display in one of the 12 windows.
Hamclock is on 8081, however it also uses 8080 to provide you with related content and settings that you can perform. If you want to force a reload of Hamclock, or an upgrade, you push those to 8080. But the live is on 8081. (*at least that's what I see on my setup, and I didn't reconfigure Hamclock on my setup at all.)
Thanks as always for the fantastic work you share. I am having a bit of issue with saving the settings in my Pi3 for some odd reason. Great Video. You made it really easy for me to set up my dashboard. However, I'm getting the following error every time the screen refreshes: "Error Detected on config.js file! The number of tile sources (16 in aIMG) and the tile delay (16 in tileDelay) arrays should match the number of items each one contains and the number of tiles used on the layout specified (22)". Any suggestions?
If you havent run into this problem yet let me put it out there. On the side tabs if you change them that most of us will. You have to be aware that when clicking on those tabs at will open whatever shortcut you put there on an internal webpage inside the dashboard like in a . Not many websites will let you do that so you will either get an error that the page cant open or if it opens it will be completely out of proportion. I had to modified this so whatever I put on the tabs open in a separate tab on the browser. That way it works. Customization is a bit restricted as I wanted to get rid of the tabs and I broke the dashboard. Still working on it. Also wanted to use the tab to just open another instance of dashboard to have more windows but so far haven't been able to get it to work but only been working on it on and off so soon I will hopefully get some results. Dont take me wrong great project and works well if you don't modify it much except just the images.
To fix the proportion issue there is a value, normally "1" and it is the last value on the setting line. You can change it to a higher value to make it bigger or smaller to reduce the size. Works like a "zoom" value 1 being original size. 73

I'll keep plugging away at it. If anyone knows why this is happening, please let me know so I'm not spending time reinventing the wheel. 73 de Daryl, AE6DD
Need to make this as a functioning desktop background and/or main screen or as a screen saver..... without having to have Firefox web browser open to see it... Just a thought...
I'm not sure about Fiorefox, but on Chrome on Linux, pressing 'F11" will turn it into a full screen display, w/o the tabs (if you have them across the top) or the URL bar. 'Esc'ape to get out of that mode (or F11 again)
now I wonder how it can be made where I have it installed on headless Pi and access it by IP as the way in this installation is not with a webserver. I've tried it in both Firefox and Brave: no problem with either on Gnome. I don't know if it's down to something in Plasma, or if it's due to microOS Plasma (aka Kalpa) being in alpha stage, while microOS Gnome (aka Aeon) is at release candidate stage.
I'll keep plugging away at it. If anyone knows why this is happening, please let me know so I'm not spending time reinventing the wheel.

I have download this but i don't get a config file, any ideas?
you should get the config file once you download the zip from github but you can always download the config as an individual file as well from github.
Does it work on an iPad?
It's browser based so it might
Need to make this as a functioning desktop background and/or main screen or as a screen saver..... without having to have Firefox web browser open to see it...
That will be cool because it can be access it from any computer in the network, tablets and who know if TV's with a browser. Maybe there is an easier way.
Something like the "10 second" webserver might work. ruclips.net/video/1SgX3Cwqi9Q/видео.html
@@KM4ACK hah, that’s awesome, I’m going to try it. Thanks Sr!
Just installed on W10 using files I modified on a Ubuntu laptop. I put the entire folder on the W10 Desktop. Did not work on Chromebook with Firefox or chrome.
Wonder if the chromebook has JS installed?
@@KM4ACK JS was installed. Can only use Brave Browser when I right click on the .html file. Top row of the dashboard pops up.
Maybe post that to the GitHub page. That might be something the developer can tweak so it would work. It would at least give him a heads up.
Saw your call sign on a ham vention flyer here in Ohio, are you going to be there?
I was at Hamvention a couple of weeks ago.
@@KM4ACK There's a hamvention out here in a month with your callsign on the flyer. They're doing giveaways with your antenna kit.
Does this work with google chrome?
Yes. Any browser should run it.
Hey jason. I have tried this on windows. Didn’t work. I have tried it on chrome book it’s kinda worked. When I changed my html code for my callsign and new screens and Crlt-S it didn’t change anything from the original 12 panels.
If anybody has any advise or do a video explaining what do you please leave it in a comment thank you
I haven't personally tested the Chromebook or Windows. From other reports it won't work on the Chromebook but will work on Windows.
@@KM4ACK thank you for replying sir. Much appreciated. So I have made it work on chrome book. Make a few folder and save everything in that 1 folder. When you make changes jjst replace that file. So it works with chrome book
This is a bad A setup. I have been tinkering with it for hours getting it customized for me.
I am having issues with the Pi-Star tab though, can’t get it to load. (Windows machine)
Take a look at the read me on his GitHub page. The developer added notes on configuration for the pi star
You replaced the tab of "Contest" to HamClock.
Could you just add another tab for HamClock?
Probably so but I didn't dig that far into the code.
@@KM4ACK It was easy, I just did a cut and paste and just added the same below what was there and it can be on either side also.
Then I put the data I wanted and it all was good.
Thank you this is too cool not to use. I will have to get ham clock woking on my RPI 4 then make this a page.
That's exactly what I plan to do soon 👍
Olá, tem informação aquí nesta Página. Acesse.
True wizardry...
LOL
Just a FYI this is working great in Windows
Good to know. Thanks for the report :-)
Great video. I've recommended it to my local HR Club. Ernie KC1LKB
hamclock keeps saying FAILED TO LOAD IMAGE
Are both the dashboard and hamclock on the same network? Is hamclock running? Do you have the right IP address?
Don't need a display to work dx everyday.
What is the point of this when you can get such set ups over the internet without ham?
Having everything together in one place, visible, at the same time.
Very complicated to install, not for me.
Where is link to software for Apple Silicon macOS?
Same link. It's just an HTML file that runs the dashboard
I wrote it as an SPA (Single-page application.) Is a web app implementation that loads only a single web document, and then updates the body content of that single document via JavaScript. It should run in any modern browser regardless of the operating system.
@@VA3HDL very nice work sir! Super neat!
Trying to setup in Windows 10. When I try to open chrome dig.js I get a script error. Anyone found a workaround???
When installing Ham Clock myADDR:8080/live.html does not bring me to Ham Clock it brings me to same page as myADDR:8080/live-ws.html
try 8081, this is the one I use. 73
Very, very nice explanation Jason! Even a noob with Linux like me got it set up.
This is a bad A setup. I have been tinkering with it for hours getting it customized for me.
I am having issues with the Pi-Star tab though, can’t get it to load. (Windows machine)
Checkout the notes on GitHub where you downloaded the file. The dev added a section on how to get Pi Star working.
@@KM4ACKthank you sir and thanks as well for the awesome content!
