I wish you were my next door neighbor! I have been using a "Portrait" since 2012 and just bought a Cameo 4. I am a buzz with wondering how to get comfortable with all of the features. you really helped me with deciding to upgrade the software. Thank you for taking the time to help.

I have had Designer edition for probably one year now and I was unaware about a lot of the features that I had. I have been tempted to upgrade again as I found a great deal on the Business edition. After you going through the additional features I think I would probably only use the multiple undo button. Also after watching this I should go and see if I can use the additional features I didn’t know I had.
Thank you for mentioning buying the upgrades else ware! I was just going to go with the Designer Edition but ended up finding the Business Edition for $54!!!!

I am getting ready to start selling my own stuff. this was very helpful. in learning the upgrade
They made me and offer I couldn't refuse, so I upgraded to business even though I just got my machine because one never knows what is coming so best to take advantage of a good deal when it is offered. : )

Question you have your studio with Design Bundles right? What are the differences? Also do you have the Rhinestones tool like they do in the Business Edition? Because I have been with Design Bundles Gold Member for quite a few years now (well actually I need to check and see if I still am because we got displaced during hurricane Ian and lost our housing and belongings so I need to check and see because I was on autopay so I am not sure if I lost it I didn’t have a cutting machine just finally got a new one) anyway I want to know what way I should go because I would like to make Rhinestones Designs so trying to figure out if Design Bundles has that ability to create a Rhinestone templates?

Good deal, Brian! I would probably reach out to Silhouette America (if you haven't already) or check out the FAQ on their website if your software is crashing a lot. Brian Lofton so both Silhouette and Cricut software crashes 🤦🏾♀️. Picking which to purchase just became a bit harder.

I have designer edition but just upgraded to business edition and it will not let me upgrade it! I don’t have a deactivate section what do I do??

Great video! I purchased the Business Edition from Swing Design and here 24 hours later I still have not received my “instant” access code, should I contact my credit card company for refund? They replied to my first email that it would be 30 minutes and then no relies since😕

Hey Happee! The only time you would need to upgrade the software is if you are using a newer machine (I had to upgrade to 4.4 for the Portrait 3). Otherwise, if your machine is cutting with 4.2, you are fine. You can upgrade at any point you choose. I usually wait for an upgrade to be out for a few months because newer upgrades often have bugs to work out. I think the last "stable" version is 4.3.370 if I remember correctly, that's where I would stay unless you have a Portrait 3 or Cameo 4 Pro. Hope this helps! ---Becky

I thinking of using this program and upgrading to business. As getting into sublimation. I want to print out on my sawgrass printer, is that possible. Do I have to save it first then open in PM? I want to cut on my brother SNC, I see can save in a variety of formats which is good. Can I go straight from basic to business?🤔🤔
Hi denise! we highly recommend the silhouette Studio Business Edition, especially if you are going to be getting into sublimation! You can use Silhouette Studio and then download your file which you can then use with your Sawgrass printer. - Dawn 🙂

Yes you totally can! You don't have to go to designer edition plus! 😊

Hi there! The Business Edition of Silhouette allows access to additional designing and downloading features within the program. It isn't a membership, just a one time fee. Silhouette offers a different monthly membership called Club Silhouette. - Dawn 🙂

This is probably a dumb question, but if I purchased the Designer Edition from one place, can I purchase an upgrade from somewhere else and it work ok?
Not a dumb question and yes, you can purchase your codes from any vendor and intermix them since they all originate from Silhouette America. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I have the business edition but I"m trying to move it from one computer to another and it doesn't seem to let me. do I have to download (as if I'm buying) and then input my key code?
it says my code was applied - but the software still shows basic edition even after closing and re-opening.
So I can go from basic right to business edition I don't have to buy designer one first.I thought I read on there that you had to have a paid version one first.

My daughter in law can not find her license code she has contacted silhouette but has not gotten answer . she has the plain design studio is there any place you can find the license she does not have the subscription keys showing in her account settings
Hey Sheryl! Sorry to hear about your daughter in law's key code. If the code is not showing on her online account, then I would probably try to remember where she purchased it from. These codes are usually sent via email, and I try to keep these in a special folder if I can. Maybe she can find it that way? Hope this helps! ---Becky
why my silhouette mat background area is gray instead of white?
Hey Loyalty! I would check the Transparency under your Page Setup Panel. It makes me think that the transparency is set high, meaning the white "material" illustration is showing clear to the mat underneath. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Great question! I'm always skeptical of any that at "too cheap" if you know what I mean. The lowest price I've seen is around $60, so if it's lower than that, definitely research more into it. It's possible it could be a partial upgrade (like from Designer Edition to Business Edition only instead of from Basic). Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hey Becky I was trying to do the silhouette on my Mac laptop. And I downloaded it and it is saying please click OK and provide an administrator password. They have my first and last name there but I don’t know what password they’re looking for. And then it says osascript want to make changes. Can you please guide me please
Hey Christina! This sounds like there is a security program on your computer that is blocking the software from making the necessary changes. I would see if you have a firewall or antivirus that needs to be bypassed somehow. I'm not a tech expert by any means, but that might be a starting point for you. You may need to reach out to Apple? Do you know if there is an off market score line tool for the silhouette?
Not that I'm aware of Cassandra. There is an Embossing tool for the Silhouette, that is what I would use, but don't expect a super great score line (just to be honest). There used to be a few third-party companies who advertised being able to emboss on the Cameo, but the Curio was the first machine to pull it off successfully and it still wasn't the same as what we have come to expect from doing it by hand. I haven't tried yet with the Cameo 4. Hope this helps! ---Becky
So it says osascript wants to make changes. Then it says Enter your password to allow this. And I put my new sign in password. And that does not work.

I have a Mac and basic silhouette studio but it is very blurry on my screen (everything else looks fine, just the silhouette studio has this problem). Is there anyone who has the same problem or any way I can fix it?

Do you know how to save a .studio file to not be editable?
Basically be just a cut file without being able to edit the file.
Hey Carolina! If I'm understanding correctly, you mean you don't want it to be ungrouped or edited in any way? The only way I can think of doing that is to save as a PNG, but then it isn't a cut file. Help me out a little more with what you are looking to achieve and I can elaborate! ---Becky
When I buy a weekly kit already made on Etsy, it prints so much faster and I think it’s because it’s compressed in some way. When I design something and then print it, it takes 15 minutes to send to printer... I was wondering If there was a way to save or do something to the file to make it print faster... 🥺😞
Hey Carolina! Sorry for the delay responding. I would say you are right, when you create something yourself, the software is reading all those individual pieces you put together. If you have upgraded to the Business Edition, you can save the image as a PNG and import it. It seems like an extra step, but that might be the key to faster printing. It would be similar to bringing in an image from Etsy (or Design Bundles), those would usually be PNG images. Hope this helps! ---Becky

What do I do when it say it's not compatible
