honestly, this was a way better take on the symbiote, better than the original 616 storyline way more interesting than basically just making Peter emo and bad cause of the symbiote, especially when the symbiote actually genuinely loves Peter for who he is and wants to bond with him and wanting to help do better, like a kid wanting to help a hero, but because of how naïve and sensitive the symbiote is + how Peter's life has been going, this was the outcome we ended up getting in Spider's Shadow, Peter's dark thoughts and emotions influenced the symbiote and they morphed together into a monster. Imagine if Peter was in a good state and better circumstances when the symbiote bonds with him. Like what someone said, it be like Agent Venom.
27:32, this really hits the homerun to describe Spider-Man and his life With his backstory, life events and powers, he could easily become one of the greatest villain or the biggest hero. Yet for most of his life, he kept his name small and helped people, living up to his name as the friendly neighbor, the small people's hero

The symbiote doesn’t make spider man kill. It’s a internal debate that’s been going on since he was found his uncle killer and he dropped out the window.
Jonah was the real hero here. He might had been blinded with bias but he cared for his subordinate.. The Venom was really written and executed here. Sounded very believable. But honestly it could had been better if it “Followed” the video game ending route where he ends with Cat. But this is a lot better then the game I think, just don’t like the ending
I love how these stories portray how dangerous some heroes can be if they really decided to let loose. They usually win when they are only trying to incapacitate. Its nice to see it sometikes.

"You have no idea how many times I have wanted to kill this bastard, for all the deaths he has cost...but...if I allow myself to go there....that low...I may never come back." And this comic just shows that what happens when heroes break their code and it's also true..like people have some restrictions to themselves and when they break those restrictions once....they never stop breaking them...OMG this is so cool that I don't even know how to explain myself
I believe that quote is from the original Red Hood event. Batman said this to Jason Todd to explain why he never took the Joker’s life after everything. Unlike Jason Todd, if Batman ever took a life, he would pretty much go on a killing rampage. The “No Killing Rule” is Batman’s greatest restraint in never becoming a monster.
OK the moment where JJ discovers that Spiderman is Peter Parker and switches sides because he knows Peter Parker might be one of the best moments in comics I have ever seen..
I love this story. The symbiote saga is my favorite Spider-Man story arch about overcoming your worst side and as a metaphor for addiction. Plus, it lead to the creation of my personal favorite Spider-Man villain. And this story really boosts those subjects. Although, I am going to be *that guy* here. In the original symbiote comics, the suit doesn't make Peter angry or violent. It basically takes him out for joyrides whenever he sleeps and wears him out like crazy until he got rid of it. This is much better.
There's an Epilogue of this story where you could see Wilson Fisk again, alive, talking about his displeasure that Spiderman haven't paid for his crimes. Then, after his scientists brought him a red symbiote, it ends in a cliffhanger.
First The Batman Who Laughs, Who successfully Ended the world, and was successful at being the Scariest character other than the Joker. And now The Spider's Shadow, who didn't get to end the world, but was successful at being a scary Spider-Man Variation. *epic.*
This version of spider-man may not be the hero that the world wants but this is the hero that the world definitely needs; Punisher spider man, assassin spider man and spider man noir are the top best versions of the character simply because they don't hold back against their enemies and as a result of that they don't suffer severe consequences from the aftermath of their villain's reprehensible deeds and their loved ones tend to stay alive a lot longer!💯🔥😁😉👍
I love this story, goes a long way in showing how peters choice to remove the symbiote was a hard and strong decision not easily made by most. Love the suit too, hope it’s in the second spider-man game
I mean, the conversation between them at 12:00, the symbiote is right. Prison and letting insane killers live makes you the killer. They forfit the right to live if they do not respect life.
Comicstorians the best thanks to Benny and everyone else involved in the channel this channel has helped me through depression due to money struggles getting comics is on hold for now but I'm glad @Comicstorian exists in my comic less world literally all my comics graphic novels and manga all got lost
Thank you for the vid man , story is good , but i can't help but think that ALL of it could have been avoided if Peter had just a tad bit more willpower and self-control and we could have gotten a venom spider hero ( think this would be the ultimate form for spider-man )
There should be another issue of this where SpiderMan goes to Dr Strange instead of Reed Richards to get tested. Along analysis Dr Strange could teach SpiderMan how to astral Project and active his psychic abilities so that way he could protect himself from the Symbiotic life form in dream worldly “astral plane” and then eventually dominate such space. In the end, SpiderMan would overcome the problems of the and defects of having the suit while simultaneously retaining the benefits and other Strengths.
My main issue with these dark stories is that they don't fully commit to there premise that often and this is no exception. Honestly the moment Peter lost the symbiote my interest went down and i just didn't care anymore. Maybe I'm alone in this but honestly feel they could have handled this better by commiting full to this honestly cool premise because otherwise it just feels like another story to me
Exactly i couldnt care less what happened in the story after the symbiote started taking over the fantastic 4 and shit i wished we got a comic story for omce where peter works in harmony with the symbiote but the only versio. Of him who does that was the peter parker from the venomverse storyline but that one is dead now since he got co sumed by a poison
Woulda been cool for him to not even become good again but to see a montage of him taking out all these supervillains and then no superheroes would anybody to fight cause everyone would be too scared to even rob an old lady
It's honestly getting tiresome just seeing the symbiote as something that corrupts heroes, and that the solution is just to kill it. The plot begins arguing that the symbiote is a living being, but then just throws it all away in favor of making it a senseless bad guy. It could talk about a complex relationship between Peters moral self and the symbiotes love combined with its lack of morals, but the story just strays away and makes it into a one sided obsession thing..
I love the idea. I mean comic is great and that with Kingpin really spices the plot. Only costume choice I do not like at the very end.(fantastic 4 one) I get it everyone know who he is now but still. Not really the best ending for now but good enough. I mean he should try to fix Venom. Thats all.
With this and Insomniac's Spider-Man 2, it really makes me wish for a what-if story where Peter actually manages to control and live in unity with the Venom Symbiote. Only calling upon it's power when he really needs it, like Web of Shadows.
while this is definitely a contender for spider carnage as far as how powerful and evil he was the story itself will always be better than spider carnage ever could be. Benny you out did yourself today hopefully we will get to see more venom and the like later
This is the direction I’d like Tom Hollands Spider man to take once he gets the Black Suit. I know Aunt May is already dead but I think the death that would push Peter to edge again would be Ned’s death by the hands of Hobgoblin, Scorpion, or maybe Kraven. Either way I’d love to see this adapted on to the big screen or a tv show cause instead of going through the trouble of finding another Eddie Brock they could just make Tom Hollands Spidey go through similar events to this comic plus seeing him Venom out and just dropping body’s would be awesome and do a lot for his character.
Good story but got way too cheesy at the end, would have been better to rehabilitate the symbiote. like the "She-Venom" fan account says, "it showed [that the] Venom Symbiote cares and loves Peter he is like a baby [and] just needed someone take care of him and teach him how to be good[;] like how Flash made him a hero with his choices". Peter was so close, merely inches away from understanding that he didn't need to kill the symbiote, even recognizing that all it does is heighten what's already there, but he chose a path of cowardice because he was blind. Life, after all, is decisions.
Eddie: “You took everything from me”

?
Peter is stated to have the intellect levels on par with reed richards so it would be fitting for him to take his place
haven't watched this channel in a while, thanks for the good content, damn
I would LOVE to see this adapted for the new animated What If? series...
Venom hades even been introduced in the mcu yet
The What If cartoon was cool but only based on the movie stories.
If I were mj and saw Peter sleeping like a possessed person or alien from a horror movie, I would've ran out of his apartment.
10:35 “With Great Power also comes great opportunity”-Edge of Time Peter Parker.
There's an Epilogue of this story where you could see Wilson Fisk again, alive, talking about his displeasure that Spiderman haven't paid for his crimes. Then, after his scientists brought him a red symbiote, it ends in a cliffhanger.
Carnage Fisk?
Fantastic Spiderman vs. King Carnage sounds awesome
Survived getting his head smashed, eh
First The Batman Who Laughs, Who successfully Ended the world, and was successful at being the Scariest character other than the Joker.
And now The Spider's Shadow, who didn't get to end the world, but was successful at being a scary Spider-Man Variation.
*epic.*
It’s kind of wholesome that the suit actually kind of cares for Peter in a way but it wanted to live
Fucking beautiful. I loved that "Flame on!" Cause it was like a plot twist in a manga but also not a manga.
I hope this suit shows up in the new Spider-Man game, it looks badass.
This version of spider-man may not be the hero that the world wants but this is the hero that the world definitely needs; Punisher spider man, assassin spider man and spider man noir are the top best versions of the character simply because they don't hold back against their enemies and as a result of that they don't suffer severe consequences from the aftermath of their villain's reprehensible deeds and their loved ones tend to stay alive a lot longer!💯🔥😁😉👍
this what if story was freaking dark and very nuts especially as a Spider-Man fan
Would love if web of shadows ever got a remake or remaster they should definitely include this in the game it as many aspects from it
I love this story, goes a long way in showing how peters choice to remove the symbiote was a hard and strong decision not easily made by most. Love the suit too, hope it’s in the second spider-man game
I freaking love these videos adds so much more suspense to it :)
I mean, the conversation between them at 12:00, the symbiote is right. Prison and letting insane killers live makes you the killer. They forfit the right to live if they do not respect life.
Actually symbiote here is actually good and kind, he is actually caring about Peter and saying even sorry when he canted go into fire and save May.
Your grammar is appalling.
I bought this book weeks ago. It's pretty good. I love your voice in these videos. This story is dark and epic.
That ending was amazing I'd like this to be continued.
Comicstorians the best thanks to Benny and everyone else involved in the channel this channel has helped me through depression due to money struggles getting comics is on hold for now but I'm glad @Comicstorian exists in my comic less world literally all my comics graphic novels and manga all got lost
The best one yet, i enjoyed it enormously.. I think its the brutality that gets me lol you guys are doing an amazing job. All best!
This gives me the same vibes of that one episode of Spectacular Spider-Man where peter destroys the sinister 6 in a night and while he's asleep.
Just like injustice superman this spiderman is one of my favourite....seeing a superhero snap and being an antihero is kinda satisfying tho
This would be such a good storyline to follow in Spider-man 2 PS5
Just finished this story yesterday! Such a sick story unfolded through 5 issues!
Great start, same old ending with peter splitting from the suit.
Reading this comic made me miss the feeling and thrill I had reading Spiderman comics in the past...
Damn this voice over is really awesome, and this story is aswell
Woulda been cool for him to not even become good again but to see a montage of him taking out all these supervillains and then no superheroes would anybody to fight cause everyone would be too scared to even rob an old lady
Man I see so much of Web of Shadows in this it’s awesome!!
This new version is interesting. This is what makes Marvel the best.
This story always reminds me of the decision system in spider-man web of shadows
14:33 damm Jonna gotta do us like that
I love the idea. I mean comic is great and that with Kingpin really spices the plot. Only costume choice I do not like at the very end.(fantastic 4 one) I get it everyone know who he is now but still. Not really the best ending for now but good enough. I mean he should try to fix Venom. Thats all.
Finally a really good spiderman story after a long time
Lost and discarded again, poor symbiote.

I got the whole miniseries and loved it. I kind of hope they do more with it
There's something we missing, kingpin survived and he's going to unleash Carnage in New York City
Wow that was amazing Spiderman becoming one with venom keep up the good work
26:26 GIGA CHAD Peter.
This comic was amazing, I’m so glad it had a happy ending! Great story
This is how a "What If" should be like.
Was searching your channel for this video this morning...
Although he makes some inexcusable decisions, he is overall right in his main belief that murderers deserve to die.
Honeslty this is the coolest redisign of black siut spiderman weve gotten
@@Raccon_Detective. i hope they add this to marvels spiderman 2
@yashmandla1234 let's hope
I'm glad this wasn't some edgefest, there were genuine characters in this What If
“he was found not guilty” WAIT WHAT?
Why are we all ignoring the fact that Peter has one hell of a beard in this story
Spider mans as the new leader of fantastic 4. After reeds death ?. Now thats a story
Man eff that cliffhanger ending, I needs a sequel like yesterday. It's gonna be wild.
Gotta love lunch break to a brand new video
The scariest thing in the world is a man with nothing left to lose
Good story but got way too cheesy at the end, would have been better to rehabilitate the symbiote. like the "She-Venom" fan account says, "it showed [that the] Venom Symbiote cares and loves Peter he is like a baby [and] just needed someone take care of him and teach him how to be good[;] like how Flash made him a hero with his choices". Peter was so close, merely inches away from understanding that he didn't need to kill the symbiote, even recognizing that all it does is heighten what's already there, but he chose a path of cowardice because he was blind.
Life, after all, is decisions.
When the whole team got infected they looked more like poisons then symbiotes
Basically if Spider-Man became The Punisher
I love this series
Big Thanos and Scarlet Witch moment at 23:55
Rip big brother
