That part where Peter confronts flash in the beginning talking about the war and flash says he's going to war because he's his biggest fan and its something spider-man would do. Fuckin' tears bro

comic companies and writers should start doing this for every hero, its a great way for new readers to get involved.
I agree and in fact i would be all for that
They're doing it for the Fantastic Four. Might end up being more of a thing for other characters.
Yes and no .
@@danielbergraaf7425 I agree
Wolverine would basically just be the normal wolverine and if you want an ending there's Logan
We need an animated movie, or a mini series adaptation of this story
As much as I'd love to see that, I get the feeling they'll muck it up.
y e s
If they did that then they’d dry up the well of Spiderman stories.
I need ittt
no we don't, they'll butcher it.
Am I the only one who loves it when the Venom Symbiote shows Peter that it still cares about him as a host and Peter acts nice towards it? It’s like in ASM 800 when it makes a concerning sound when Peter tells it to get away from the fire when he and Norman have their last fight. The moment when it showed up here was kinda wholesome.
Agreed
Big emotional moment for sure. There's a thin line between love and hate as they say. I think the venom symbiote always loved Peter for his purity and nobility, and only hated that it couldn't be with him. And couldn't help but admire his final sacrifice
This was one of the best Spider-man stories. Almost all the big story arcs across decades of comics rolled into one concise timeline. No time travel, no retcons, no multiverse adventures, no revivals from deaths. Just about every aspect of the character was incorporated in a natural way, that also does the character's justice.
I'd love to see more of this universe, all the different things that would have happened between the time jumps, the history, the moral dilemmas, and how the characters interact with each other and with this world.
Those final panels when we look at Peter's dream of the night Uncle Ben died was beautiful. He finally made his peace, he can say to himself that he made up for his original sin, and he died with pride.
Yeah best spiderman story I've seen and I like how there's no confusing time travel and alternate universes in this story which is why I love it
What I loved more of this story is that… almost all the important stories are still there, just adapted to the ages of the characters, see an old-man Peter it’s good and makes me remember, one day he would not come back.
and they changed parts in an actually interesting way
And best of all... no Paul.
bummed those panels aren’t in the video
Honestly the symbiote giving it's life to help Peter right at the end made me cry a bit cause we all know it never really wanted him dead it just wanted to be with him and was mad he didn't want it.
Venom: "Why are you running?"
Quite Possibly the best Modern Spider-Man story...
Honestly I can’t think of a better spider man comic story it’s just so perfect
Ultimate Spiderman?!
@@kingpecon7009 I just wished it was longer, like it originally was going to be I believe.
@@goodnesswhy it could’ve been interesting to see them show miles and the aftermath but I think it ended on a good note as a full story
@@kingpecon7009 I'm more interested at what happened in between the decades. I wonder if Spidey ever fought lesser known villains like Mr. Negative, teamed up with other heroes like Ghost Rider, etc.
But yeah, I realize they're not really THAT important to the overall story but it would have been cool and more earned for me.
I literally bawled when he said MJ was his Jackpot at the end. This was such a captivating story and damn it, It was so emotional
What I love about the story is that it actually makes symbiote suit a conflict. It gives power, power an older peter needs that more to keep his momentum, aging bring about a lot of problems and questions that the superhero genre could profit from
I didn't think I would. But I actually cried. I felt Peter's heart in the end. He truly is the best Super hero In all of comics
I, as well…
I disagree. I love spiderman but he's a good character because he's not that great. He has problems like the rest of us and there are always people better or worse than him. He's just a person who got powers. I actually think he isn't that great of a person but it adds to the how much he tries to be a good hero
@@urippe I think that’s why we all love him: he faces problems on the daily, and yet, somehow, he’s still determined to help other even if he’s at rock-effing-bottom.
I started sobbing when Gwen died

This is why finality in stories is a good thing. Characters having meaning, depth, and growth. Consequences stick. Everyone is at risk. No one is safe. Just safer.
And pure genius from Benji realizing that Morlun was vulnerable when feeding.
As much as I always want to see Peter Parker be the one and only Spider-Man, I have also wondered what life would be like for him if he aged accordingly with the times and what the world would also look like if heroes did partake in historic events such as the Vietnam War.
Overall, this series is a 10/10.
That is a "What If?" story which NEEDS to be made! Have a universe full of younger heroes piecing together the past lives of their predecessors... and no, not like the Young Avengers.
@@clipboss8052 I get what you mean. For instance, in the DC Universe I would like to see what that world would be like if Superman, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter remained dead, Batman with his back broken, and Hal Jordan having gone full blown evil because he lost his home town rather than Parallax taking over. It’d be an interesting world to say the least.
Personally i find it weird if fiction and History collides but i think they did it good in the comic
for those unclear on how old some of the characters are exactly, i’ll clarify
Peter and his friends were born in 1947 (hehe, boomers lol)
The twins were born in 1984
and if they’re keeping the trend of aging in real time for Miles, then Miles Morales would’ve been born in 1997-1998
it’s a bit unclear for Miles since in his original run from 2011 it’s made clear he’s 13 meaning he’d be born in 1998 but in a later issue in the same run he says he’s almost 14 meaning he’d be born in 1997. It’s not clear if he’d be turning 14 that same calendar year or the next so that’s why i estimated for him
a calculator can help you figure out their ages but to save some time these are their ages by 2019:
Peter and his generation (Baby Boomers)- 72
Claire and Benji (millennials/Gen Y)- 35
Miles (Gen Z)- 21-22 (this is actually the second oldest we’ve ever seen Miles apart from his old man storyline)
update: in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30 we see a 28yr old version of Miles which seems to be in the same timeline as the main comic universe, he has a new suit design and everything
Wow. Me and miles share a birth year…
Wait how did Miles get his spider powers in this story line?
@@destroycuh in this version of the storyline it’s unknown

So many Spiderman arcs put together in a coherent story wow
I Love this story.
I could die with this being closure to Peter Parker's story.
These are the type of stories I don't see a lot these days. Stories where the superhero is able to grow old and change and not remain at the status quo.
Spiderman is my favorite hero out of all the marvel characters
Yup. My favorite for so many reasons.
He’s strong but no too OP.
He relies on agility instead of bulletproof skin.
He’s smart.
He has to invent stuff to get out of situations.
He’s a street hero (stopping robbers) who also does universal stuff.
He struggles with his personal life. Like rent.
He’s dealt with personal loss.
Best comic book character ever.
@@ck5071 He's basically the most relatable Super Hero.

This really shows how awful Peter’s life is… makes me rethink my childhood dreams of wanting to be spider-man when I grew up
Yeah me too
They do say being a hero requires sacrifice. I'm glad they portrayed it as being a hard life cause being a good person isn't easy, but it can have a bigger impact than everything else sometimes.
Definitely agree, except that what they don't show is the cumulative years of boring normal family life off-panel, taking place quietly between the major noteworthy events. I'm glad he had some good years with MJ and their kids, he sure made enough sacrifices to deserve at least that much if not more
The Amazing Spiderman, the world needs more heroes like him
Well tell that to J jonah schmuck's face then to be remind of that the world also does not need him too
I cried 3 times during this video. Holy hell Peter had a rough life, and I thought Peter from marvel zombies had it rough. Although going out a hero, self sacrificing yourself in space is how I’d wanna go.
looking at your comment, i realized that both "life story" peter and "marvel zombies" peter died sacrificing themselves at space
I loved that venom saved peter so many times and it always wanted to be good but it’s hard due to peters built up anger
The comic ending is probably the best ending for a hero ever. That dream where he couldn't save Ben, haunting him in his dreams for all those years. But that dream at the end he changes the ending, making it a good dream and finally finding peace and knowing he did good. Damn
The symbiote making the attempt to save peter twice, seems it just loves him too much. Hopefully if he survives this he would coexist with the symbiote without the draw backs it could bring...
As much as I'd like to believe the symbiote could save Peter from dying in this situation, I'm pretty sure this was meant to be a story of his whole life, meaning the story ends here because his life ends here. And even though they weren't able to live together, as the end came I think they each understood and appreciated the bond between them, and that is just as touching in its own way.
This was a good story, but I feel like there are too many stories and lore to fit into one graphic novel. I feel like Spider-Man "Life Story" would've worked better as a whole comic series, with each season filling out a decade of Peter Parker's life.
True
Part of me hopes they'll do this eventually...
Spidey can't catch a break man
I like the way Peter isn’t be punished for the sake of being punished. He got this big lost but he gets something back for that and is allowed to enjoy it for a while and also he is not driven to be Spiderman because the writers wants him to be but you see he is having believable ideals and at the end he finds peace for himself knowing he did good! Love this story and I am tired of Peter being a nerdy child. Meanwhile I am 28 and loving spidey since I was a kid and reading this storyline makes the Icon Spiderman only bigger knowing he’s only like you and me….mortal and flawed
It's interesting to see a reality where comic book characters age from the dates they first appeared.
Is anyone gonna talk about how good norman's waves are?

@@grimwashere4104 yeah, when the first issue showed Captain America going on defend innocents in Vietnam against the Ameircan, I thought Flash was somehow going to be involve, getting the symbiote and either hunting the Super Soldier down alongside the other "heroes" or joing sides with him. @@TheFlamingGamerYT it’s good but the art is a little wired Especially for Peter
For everything that happened somethings just aren't the same. This story hits differently. I love it
The depth of the stories, of the very character...that's why Spiderman is a hero that's so closed to my heart.
Peter is definitely one of the most empathic superheros ever created and thats why he has to suffer the most
For those that didn’t know, there’s more to the ending where it shows peter’s funeral and doc ock kept true to his word and give miles his body back. Afterwards miles visited MJ and confessed that he can’t wear his suit anymore because he feels that ock tainted it. So MJ gives miles peter’s suit and continue on in his legacy. I can see how some people think that this backwashes Miles’s progression but i thought it was a cool way to show a mantle being passed down
I love that they made a whole life for him, putting in some of the many events that happen in 616 or the marvel/peter parker never ending story. It feels great to see a hero get a full life, instead of always being young, coming back to life, or somehow being turned young again through some crazy event.
DC. Steal this idea. Every core member of the Justice League getting their individual Life Story.
Marvel, follow this idea. There's lots of little plot threads leading to other Avengers having Life Stories.
Wow. Like there wasnt like 101 life stories before. I think marvel and dc stole your brain cells
??? Both of them have been doing for a while.... at lesst as far as I'm aware.
I think DC already did this.
Oh my heart. This was such a sweet homage. The ending was great.
Jesus. 20 minutes in and I'm starting to notice all of Peter's relationships are SUPER Strenuous. He gets into fights with literally everyone he knows.
I like of how the writer kept a lot of the original concepts an elements. However gave it his own twist, to eliminate the plot holes and inconsistencies in the original story.
Making his rendition feel familiar yet brand new.
Damn that’s a sad ending
But seeing the symbiote expand over the hole of the ship to give Pete more time proves Spidey can make anyone a hero.
@@xUltimatexBladerx yep

Gosh give me more of this! This was so tasteful. Even the arcs that people didn’t like were handled tastefully. I’d like to see more of this
I love how they found a way to add the superior spider man arc in the story without using parker's body since it was old and would not work out well for ock
The symbiote could’ve taken over his body and they could’ve survived together on the way back down to earth (symbiote can survive in space and they can use the stronger webs to web parachute down upon reentry)
Instead it chose to give its life with Peter to let the emp destroy Dooms tech. Proving that it too just wanted to do the right thing.
When I first read this when it came out, nothing could have prepared me for how unexpectedly beautiful it would be. People will look back on this series as one of the best Spiderman stories ever. It perfectly captures everything that makes spiderman, spiderman.
I thought it was amazing that in it's final moments the symbiote (Venom) went out as a hero.
The part where Peter uses his web is my favorite
The spin on Superior Spiderman was clever and I didn't expect them to bother adapting it. Though the ending seemed a little rushed and cluttered.
The Symbiote Helped Peter at the end, noice

Holy crap dude. This sent chills down my spine. I cannot get over this moment.
This is so good! Seriously. Marvel could of had gone with this path with their superheroes. Let them age, evolve and improve as people. People might miss them, but that's what other stories are for. If this was the main storyline of Marvel and its entirely library of heroes and villains, i feel we would be more welcoming of newcomers.
