In the India of 1990's, which hadn't yet opened up to the glitter of free market and unimaginable choices, monotony had a flavour attached to it, which was crafted with utmost care and attention over the years. What happens when a lonely home maker from middle class Mumbai starts getting a taste of novelty, through a metaphorical new automatic pressure cooker and the attraction from a younger man. Will she be able to allow new commodities to enter the floodgates of her world?
Pressure Cooker is an effort to look at the changing modernising worlds of commodity and sexuality in an era where change of anything, especially of a kitchen appliance was a deeply emotional issue, from the eyes of a middle aged Mumbai woman.

Pallavi Joshi is one of those rare gems. She doesn’t have to put much effort in her roles, she has that charm which very few actresses have. Brilliant film.
Aj ka online food ke jamane me purana pressure cooker thik karke usme pulav banakar pyarse khana aur parosna behad achha laga. Pallavi Joshi is a great actor with natural beauty. Her simplicity in acting conveys more moral values those who understand them. 👍👍👍
"The choice is yours", that's it. Be wise. Such simplicity, true romance loaded with self respect and a mature effort towards relationship, one thing missing greatly in today's time.

Wise and wisdom was behind the judgement that pallavi joshi compared and contrasted the pressure cooker salesperson with her husband.Her husband is grouchy but not cheap and shallow as a human being.He has moral values

Beautiful short film, and the metaphor so aptly used. If it's broken, fix it, not throw it or replace it. No short-cuts or instant gratification. Leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling that all will be alright in your world too...am getting addicted to short films...they are like a fantastic breath of fresh air

अच्छी कहानी
Pressure cooker is used as a metaphor in this short film. The lady chose to use the old, faulty cooker instead of replacing it with a new one. In the same way, she tried to fix the relationship with her grumpy husband instead of pampering her attraction towards the younger and attractive sales person. The lesson is nurturing a relationship is better than looking for a replacement.

I've watched this short film many times only for that scene when the wife expresses her feeling to her hubby who loves her unexpressed.

Here Pressure Cooker is compared to husband & wife relation...old one can be repaired at low cost if you try to buy new one looks good but has many hurdles and is expensive...so be satisfied with what you have..be happy always 😊

Each scene so well so beautifully captured, vintage style in each scene made sure to be shown.
Radio commentory narrating the actual happening of the movie, so beautifully done.
The scene where she feels infedility even in disobeying her husband's words shows the feelings our mothers and even today a lot of honest loving wives have towards their husband. One sweet word one smile ( SPECIALLY pallavi's smile), takes the pressure off the husband's stress at work.
