Agree, but I also believe we women have been blessed with the innate quality to change a person to become a better person. That applies to our kids , friends and husbands too. But first you have to live that life to inspire it. The lady character in the video represents it. She was appreciate of her mother in law and at the same time I assume with time gained her trust. When we start seeing the reason in why certain things were done in our culture change can happen.

I liked how they covered the small nuances. The girl from city was modern but a bit arrogant but the village girl even though old fashioned was humble n people were nice. The city girl had so much support from her partner yet was cribbing but the village girl had absolutely no support but yet through determination she nailed it n inspired the city girl. It's not about fashion it's about mentality that makes u modern and successful. Eventually the city girl not only understood that it's not in the attire but in the mind n even adapted to it. Nice story to inspire the younger women 💯

Brilliantly complementing traditions while thinking present.... Being respectful to elders is our tradition and so beautiful... Our sanskar is what makes ua so vivid and colorful and beautiful as a people. Nobody critizes how uncomfortable blazers and ties and shoes are because it is the accepted norm.... Honestly flip flops and rolled up sleeves are so much simpler.. But we accept that as a norm... Same with so many western formal outfits that seem simple to wear but need so much effort in terms of footwear, hair style , make up, etc.... Lovely film that upholds traditions and doesn't mock at our elders. And happy to see so many positive responses!! My Bharat is so so beautiful!

No I think the short film talks about how not to be a cry baby and blame everything else except your own self and not taking the responsibilities of your own actions from the very beginning including the choice of field of study to career to choice of in laws. The movie also talks about how a woman or even a man, can successfully balance the family and work without compromising either one, and without being a perpetual victim card swiper. And by the way, that tale isn't outlandish, I've been raised by one such woman. Besides, I know why can't you digest the movie, because it actually shows you the mirror and you being over critical about the movie is nothing but a coping mechanism. Go look into the mirror and thank me later.

Tradition is good, backwardness isn't - Expecting women to be in ghunghatt in today's world is not only ridiculous, it's no better than Muslims expecting their women to wear bhurkha. It's stunts their progress & holds women back - Old fashioned, & backward!! A woman needs to be able to think, move & be free to make decisions, if she's to run her own business. The men need to help with house work if they expect women to help with the household income - THAT's progression!! Namaste from USA!!

All the characters are amazing. Amazing video...
After watching this, I was wondering when wives talked about their husband's family members' comments passed on their attire, way of living, or something else, why most Indian men (as per my experience - no offense to anyone) criticize their wives and favor their parents and other elders (chachi in this video at 10.25).
Here, his chachi did not comment on his attire at all. He was also wearing Western clothes (not Indian wear - Kurta pajama/dhoti). She was being orthodox for his wife and her own daughter-in-law.
And then these men complain their wives that you don't respect my family, etc. How do they except their wives to respect elders when they keep on commenting on their lifestyle, etc and their husbands are not even supporting their wives.
I believe that a neutral response from men would not harm anyone's feelings. In fact, it will definitely strengthen the relationship with their wives.
This message is not shared to offend anyone... Just sharing my opinion.

This movie shouldn't have supported or shown veil as a normal thing. What his chachi commented was also wrong. They are showing that women can easily take care of joint family , follow all stupid orthodox traditions while having their own businesses , such unrealistic things , wanting women to be some superwomen who doesn't need their husband's help even in household chores. And the other woman who was more practical and realistic one is shown as wrong🙄😒.

    • @vatsalarana9843

But why are our traditions 'stupid orthodox' ? We can do whatever we want for our own happiness but we can't do small things for our parents'? The people who raised us and made the type of person we are right now. Happily following our traditions does not make any women less of a feminist or modern, this is something we should embrace
