Our Journey! How did we get here?
In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin. We are diving into this chapter of our lives in no experience, we're so happy we can bring you all along as we learn to do it all with our own two hands. who knew you could travel to the Bahamas like this???? Would you do it? What about the poop bags? Hands down the best most beautiful place we have ever camped and with even better company. This was a huge adventure for us and something we haven’t done in so long- thank you for coming to the island with us 💛💛

My husband and I love these kinds of adventures! The Bahamas are mythical and very romantic. When we were much younger, this is where we would love to come for regeneration. People thought we were crazy traveling through south and central South America. It’s so much fun to fly by the seat of our pants! We usually stayed in hostels along the way. We met so many lovely people who were always willing to point us in the right direction,or invite us to share a meal with their families. It has always made me sad that people are unwilling to see things from a global perspective. There is hate in the world, but there’s a lot more love. There is war in the world, but there’s a lot more people of peace ☮️! Thanks ladies for this reminder 🫶🏻❣️

I love how your videos do just that. They encourage others. And, you are quick to give a shout out to those who encourage y’all.
Watched both content creators' videos. Two completely different storytelling styles. As a TV producer myself, I appreciate VanWives' attention to detail. The story is the main character, and Crystal captivating VO's took us to this caribbean paradise without a plane ticket.
What an extraordinary adventure. A few years ago I had an opportunity to kayak around Lake Itasca in northern Minnesota. But, it was extremely windy. I had to abort. I’ll try again. Mrs. and I often camped years ago, but age and medical issues have cramped our style. You are so fortunate. Enjoy!

Been to the middle of the "Triangle" and back. Seas were calm until we hit the middle when a storm popped up and all hell broke loose. 60 to 100 foot waves. Luckily we were on a Navy ship. Captain turned us around when the 100 foot wave showed up. 30 min after we turned around the storm suddenly vanished. Sun came up and we were in a purple fog and the sea looked purple also. We couldn't see the sun.
Wow, that sounds wild and a little scary. Water is powerful and can change quickly as you discovered. 💛💛

I'll add that to my bucket list. I've kayaked from CT to NY, but never in a tropical area. That water looks so amazing. In two days, when we're supposed to get another 8" of snow, I'll close my eyes and imagine being there.

Judging from the bites I saw on Niki's legs in her video it was probably sand fleas what were attaching you. Her's seems to be mid thigh to foot. If it were no-see-ems, the bites would be all over, not just legs. When I was down on Cayman many years ago I was nailed by sand fleas. Left quarter sized bites that itched for 2 weeks. Nice that you two groups were able to get together and do the "Camp in the Bahamas".

Try keeping your lower arm straight when paddling. Upper arm can be a gentle pushing action. Bending the elbow is a lot of wasted work.

I went to Honduras and was on the beach. I decided to get a massage from one of the locals and the first thing she said was... good choice... the essential oils she used kept the sand flees off of me for the rest of the day. When we got back on the boat... everyone had red dots covering their skin. I also asked why there was a guy with a machete walking up and down the beach.. they said it was for snakes. lol

It was really cool seeing this from your perspectives cuz I watched Nikki’s first. Love seeing the friendships between you all. I would love to be able to do something like that but with a severely bad back I couldn’t kayak or sleep in a tent 😢. Grateful to share in your experience.

Love that you are in nature and loving it. I have never camped in a tent, but with my back issues I don't think I could cowboy camp. I would think of a way around it - maybe an inflatable mattress. Grateful for each and every day! Wishing you an awesome adventure!

Regarding getting lost. You can tell N/South from the Sun.
Just imagine where the sun would be at noon. That’s south. Eg) at 1pm ish south is a bit left of sun.
