Our Journey! How did we get here?
In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin. We are diving into this chapter of our lives in no experience, we're so happy we can bring you all along as we learn to do it all with our own two hands. This is such z great idea,using 2 shipping containers ,as side structures of the building and more then doubling the storage square footage,besides the cosmetics of it is awesome ,with the combo of wood and steel roof to match shipping containers ,this could be your next project girls for your homestead in the spring!!!..
I'm wondering if this inspired them to build it at home as well!

I’ve been watching a builder place for sometime. I would love to go play with your toys too. When I was younger, I’m 74 now. I got to learn to run a lot of big toys. And my husband to teach me to weld a little bit but I had so many things to do with her business. He took care of all the welding in building, trailers and septic trucks in toilet pump, trucks, and all kinds of stuff. I miss him greatly.
For the past few weeks I have been binge watching your videos since the very first one. I stumbled across VW on some random FB post and have fallen in love with you both, your pups and your freakin' kickass hard work you put into your amazing home. Tonight I got to the last, most recent video and now can't wait for this Sunday. Thank you for also introducing me to other channels to subscribe to to watch their journey. You two are such inspiring women that have and will have an impact on other women. Your impact on this world is much needed...keep doing what you are doing!

It is great to make lifelong friends who are like minded, not only did you help with the roof, but you learnt new skills along the way . Safe travels, ladies x
I learned a trick watching some metal building builders. They took all the panels from one side and stack them on a sawhorses and they drilled holes through all the panels at one time to line up with the screeds (2 x 4s) and then they used those holes to put their screws in and they lined up great. Used this method on a shed I built and it worked great. No wondering where to put the screws just look for the holes!
My absolutely two best favorite peoples Crystal, Jasmine, and Riley, Courtney. Both of the posts today were such a happy surprise. I'm glad you all got to meet each other. I have watched VanWives and Ambition Strikes for years and today they spent a week together. Heaven!

I’ve seen a few of Riley and Courtney’s videos…when they picked up their army truck and built the dump box and when they built the container sold set up, but I’ve never followed them. They come a long ways on their build, definitely have ambition. Think I;l go check out more of their videos now. Take care. GOD Bless

Totally understand the Disneyworld vibe with the machines. A friend has a few different Kubotas and it's a blast. But for him, the golden rule of manufacturing applies: the right tool makes any project possible. From powered tin snips to a 12-ton digger, it makes such a difference. Have a great week!

That was a good move girls. I have been following Riley and Courtney since they bought the land a couple years ago. As you, they are hard workers and very focus on their goals. I don't think I've ever seen 2 girls fall in love with a full-size basement digging excavator, but I think I witnessed this watching this video. When it came to the skidster, I believe Clementine needs a new friend. Perhaps in a new barn/shipping containers ?_? Well, i'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway. Clementine is a beautiful tool, very versatile, and dependable. But the Skidsteer is a completely different animal. Even though they might share quite a few of the same implements. Which could be extremely handy. Options buckets forks auger's blowers pusher's brooms... Although your average size Skidsteer can be quite a bit more powerful than clementine. Horsepower and lift capacity... Turning radius on a dime. Ease of use. High.
Perhaps you girls can offer Porter your services for a day. Maybe volunteer for some experience with the larger equipment? He's been so helpful that he might appreciate the offer and the help.

When I left school I went to work as an agricultural mechanic which involved a LOT of welding, I ended up getting arc eyes, it felt like my eyes were full of sand. I was blind for three days, That was the first and last time I got arc eyes!!! I learned my lesson.

I would have put flashing under the roof edge. I'd also waterproof the shipping containers. We worked on a project with them an hey had tiny holes on the side and top, which caused massive water damage.
For sure good things to look out for. They’re handy people I’m sure they will weld if any holes happen
