The Power of Love: Exploring the Twists and Turns of Romance
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 окт 2024
- Documentary exploring how the power of love transforms people's lives for both good and bad. Age old themes - first love, love at first sight, true love, love is blind - are explored through several different and remarkable stories, told by the protagonists themselves. The stories are brought to life through unusual filmic imagery and until the last possible moment, the viewer has no idea which story has a happy or a sad ending. Each different story unfolds bit by bit, showing the many different twists and turns the course of true, or indeed, false, love can take. You are left to muse about how people can be so certain of their love and wonder at the remarkable choices people make in the name of love.

Insecurity and the fear of being alone does a number on certain people.
Yea they should just realize most people are worth dating long term.
So true. The guy who pretented to be a policeman is a piece of work.😱
I agree.
Absolutely
Fear of lost and hopeless
I smiled all throughout Jon and Stephanie's story! From the beginning, you could tell he loves her. ❤🌹
She loves him. ❤️
*Man makes a tape telling another man to kill his wife any means possible*
'I knew that he would never, ever harm me'
This is some next level delusion
More like denial.
@sebatian no, that's manipulation. don;t think it can't happen to you or anyone else.
Lmao literally! I was confused!
Well technically she's right, he was gonna get someone else to do it for him 😅
I love my partner dearly but if she ever threatened serious physical violence on me I'd know that's it, that's not something you can work on in any way. Let alone murder
That English guy with the princess from Ghana....what a beautiful love story 💘💘💘
Their story should be made into a movie.
LORD HAIDARA TALL same
😗😗
Maryanne Matthews bollocks.
I agree, somebody needs to make this love story into a movie. Both of them seem so classy and humble.
the mixed couple seems so happy and their children are beautiful
Wendy should get life for being stupid!!
She had to go for that lovely smile 😁
@1manuscriptman Ouch, you seem to never have experienced true and lasting love. She might have had gold and servants - look at what she has now. That is worth more than some bling bling and status.
@1manuscriptman More a suggestion than a statement. Your comments speak volumes about your mindset, though.
@1manuscriptman he had his love for her you cannot buy that !!!
I'm really concerned for the woman who's husband tried to have her killed. It's like she's joined a cult and can't see the cult leaders atrocities because it would mean admitting she's been living a lie. Highly manipulative and charismatic people can be as addictive as drugs. She needs therapy.
@colette s TRUE!
Also, the fact that she thought it was ok to get married for a third time in her 50’s. God knows what her other husbands were like☹️☹️
@@SuperMarion61 I mean regardless of this situation, what's wrong with getting married a third time in her 50's?? People act like older people aren't allowed to find happiness and love too.
@@TwinBleaks nothing is wrong with it. But from my point of view, I think she's so dependent on someone, and that dependency attracts narcissist or master manipulator. But who knows? 🤷♀
@@ayhaynina3034 yes, I think you are totally right!
Being 55, a mother and a grand-mother I just can't believe a woman gives that up for a man.
Gives up what for a man?
jamie smithson The contact with your child(ren) and grand-children.
Oh, I understand now. Yes it's terrible! As much as she would disagree, I felt like she needed some help for potential mental health issues, it all seemed very delusional. I thought you were referring to Stephanie giving up her wealth.
The fear of getting old alone... Even fear to die alone... When they reach 50/60 some people would marry anyone, as long as they don't end up alone for the rest of their lives. :(
Cel M I agree, although I think there's a certain disposition for that fear to make one completely blind to the obvious. I think it's quite sad, it seems more like the idea of abandonment in any romantic form is just too much for her, to the point she is willing to believe her delusion over her child.
Stephanie's love story is so beautiful !
And she is so pretty and humble
Johnathan and Stephanie. What a beautiful couple. What a wonderful love story. Heartwarming!!
Its so sad about the middle aged woman giving up her family who loved her for someone who wanted to kill her.
I know, it's not like he woz mad doing it in temper, he woz karm. Phyco.
And if he was telling the truth about it being a scheme to have his enemy blackmail him, he would have let his wife know. And even then - why would you stay with a man who would arrange such a scheme. He's trash, whichever story is true.
So cool, a princess giving up her throne for love :)
Do you not know the country she was going to go back to? The 'wealth' she spoke of was her uncle's not hers. It was probably a couple of grass huts, you fool.
Kould B Wrong
Kould B educate yourself mate
Read up on Ashanti culture. They are into properties and finance. The children belong to the mother side and their uncle raise them, not their father. The same is true for the father was raised by his uncle and he will subsequently raise his nephews and nieces.
Proving love is blind lol
how could u quit ur job for a guy without even having been to his place?
What a beautiful woman Stephanie is! She is glowing...
I loved their story. ^_^
Sad stories, except the princess & the pauper. That twist I didnt expect. I thought her "strict uncle" was her husband and she had 3 kids.
I thought something similar 😂
Selfish having 5 children, not interested in saving the planet or overpopulation😡 It’s not just about affordability or “good parenting” & for the record, I had 1 child.
@@SuperMarion61 5 people is not gonna make a difference. And who are you to regulate the rate of reproduction? It's their choice to have 5 children, not yours.
Me too that’s what I thought.
Lola Abdi exactly. I think she is nuts. Everyone has the right to have as many kids as the want.
Stephanie looks like a Goddess. Hard not to fall in love with her at first sight, I totally did. I'm happy that there was love truly there and they have such a beautiful family with a gorgeous story to tell their children and grandchildren. Wish them the best.
Epic Dyslexic stephany was an actrice in this documentary
@@nicoletacerc4329 No, she was NOT an actress.
I loved her little tests. She knew this could be the one, but she waited - key word to note - four years, and kept seeing what this guy was made of first. I think that's a lesson to us all.
Wish them the best too
Amazing story
How on earth was she able to look past that super weird stripy goatee??
It's so bizarre how terrible the excuse was for the tape recording! It did appear that she had lost all sense of reality with the situation which I don't think is a product of 'love is blind' , but more a deeper psychological issue causing some delusions.
Frightening.
I agree. It's, no one would want me and this is the best I can do.
Alissa Michelle I think her son's gave her the ultimatum because they knew that man WAS a dangerous person. A good parent wouldn't allow their child to step foot near the grandmother because she has proven that her judgement is damaged.
jamie smithson
Sometimes ~ actually many times, you fall in love with someone who you think they are ~ it’s devastating when they are not who you thought they were....It makes me cry when I think of my own 2 divorces ~ I have yet to find someone who is “too good to be true”❣️
He wouldn't have got 8 years just on that tape, there had to have been other things and her son cutting her off says it all really.
I'm so glad someone had a happy ending!!! The love for the princess is amazing!!! They are so adorable together!!! I love their children!!
"I'm extremely lonely". And that folks...in a nutshell is why the woman who's husband is in prison is still making herself believe he didn't want to kill her.
Yep, she would rather risk death than be alone, it's understandable but very sad, she should find someone who actually loves her.
Stephanie is so GORGEOUS
Im happy for Jon and Stephanie 😊
The princess is so beautiful!
Ghanians are a pretty nice people too.
why is it so many white are traveling to Ghana if fact have so many white girls claiming their father are Ghanians
Isn't she just. And their kids are too.
are a you related to Ghanaian

Unfortunately some people are easy prey for grifters and narcissists. And "love" is the easiest way to get into their lives. Real love takes time. To a narcissist all their partner is a source of energy and maybe monetary supply. Once they get you hooked they show you who they really are. They only care about their feelings and your actions. Never your feelings and their actions.
But I am glad to see one real love story that worked out on this. Good for them.
truly he was a narcissist and she needs to be educated about them. Sadly she might now want to know, her world would change significantly.
Surprisingly good film. Three very different, very interesting stories.
the princess and the english man have a beautiful family
Oh Wendy. What's the saying? There's no fool like an old fool. How could your sons let their precious children be with a grandparent who can't even see when she is in danger? To lose ones true family for a fool--what a loss.
I’m with my soulmate! And after 23 years together we’re even stronger than we were when we were first married!

Jon and Stefanies story sounds like a fairytale... ♡
I would never give my children up for a man , he said he wanted her killed on the tape , I would of run a mile ,
The couple who married and had children what a true love story this is how lovely to see a happy ending ,
cradleygirl but what was the connection. .the fact that this love came from the pub owned by the woman who married a man who said to someone that he would want his wife killed..the owner of yhe pub..i just dont see the message of everything and esp. bcz all a sudden a queen enters stage left
Well to be fair on the woman. Her adult children gave up on her. I would never give up on small children for any man. Once they are adult they often have a life of their own. So the woman is just looking for a companionship.
@@ledererovaYes, she’s just looking for companionship… with some convicted of plotting her murder (!!) Dear god, she’s delusional.
Stephanie is just so beautiful. I hope her relatives still help them out financially as it can't be easy having 5 children and Living on only his salary.
She's actually a professional singer and songwriter...She has a well-paying career, her and her family are well off
She had collaborated and written songs for entertainers like Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Celine Dion etc
@@kaylao.3326, Her sister is a singer. Her name is Akasosua Agyapong.
@@MimiKeel yeah, both her and her sister are singers.
I think most people are delusional in their relationships. We all see what we want to see, not what is there or true about someone. So when someone gets involved with a con artist or dangerous criminal, it falls apart when their lies are revealed. People need to ask the tough questions and pay attention to their intuition or gut instincts about someone. Then walk the fk away as fast as you can if things go bad. TIme reveals a person's character. Just pay attention and you will see it. Just my opinion.
Dan Lord .
Dallas Dan Digital Productions my favourite reflection
Dark side of love. When u fall in love u will swim the ocean, climb the mountain, walk through the fire to be with that person, and when you realize this isn't for u, u will swim the ocean, climb the mountain, walk through the fire to escape him/her. Love indeed is delusional sometime
But when we fell in love, we really don't see the defaults in the person that catch our attention? I agree yes that love its like a drug and it's activate the same area of the brain , but still we can see, search , listen, analyse ....at list that's me
Tq... End of the answer u have said that is ur opinion
Each and every one is living one kind of delusional world
It will never leave u.. Until
Such an interesting documentary 👌
There is real love I was married to my husband for 11 years and he passed away he had bad kidneys since he was a baby and he had a bad heart also he had a stroke I was with him every day I miss him and love him for eternity I will see him again when I die that is my greatest that's what makes me have hope
hope your doing fine💟💟
John and Steph just really warmed my soul. They also made my allergies go crazy.
Imagine being that guy on that tape, wanting to kill your wife and now she is the only one on his side... forever...
what a sad story for everyone involved, specially for her and her family >_
Stephanie is the epitome of a goddess. Lovely to look at and a seemingly nice personality. The older woman is delusional. It's very sad.
Oh Wendy's story broke my heart. You know how difficult it is to get your mind in the right place to believe and enjoy a love, at that age after past marriages. Just the stone cold disregard of David talking about her like that, and for her to have to hear it, being blindsided. Wendy, darling, if you're out there, I wish you better life, happiness and all the love you deserve. You didn't deserve this, he was a sociopath.
Yes sociopath indeed...and yet it seems she's still making excuses for this bloke. Wow....what a creep. Scary
I fear for her safety So sad and delusional. 😢
No one who loves you would ever go along with, or pretend to kill you. God bless you and enlightens your loneliness ❤️
The twice married woman whose 3rd husband tried to have her murdered is a very sad lady. She has lost her son and grandchildren because of her refusal to dump the bum. Some people get what they deserve.
Gary Scott : A decision whether to forego your children and grandchildren for your partner, may well be in direct relation to how often you see the aforementioned, and what the quality of that time is like when you do see them. I am not saying this is definitely the case with this lady, but as we don't know all of her circumstances I reserve judgement on this particular issue. I am not denying he is a git or that "there are none so blind as those who will not see", I just think she is very lonely and probably lacks self esteem.
So you're blaming the victim not the offender. If you are targeted like that by someone who now knows everything about you and your family, and are in fear of your life you become so terrified and feel so hurt by what's happened your brain can go into total denial and detachment as a form of self defence. Sub consciously you blame yourself for inadvertently putting your families lives at risk and can't see a way out - even though he was behind bars all of their lives were still at risk. This denial is completely INVOLUNTARY and is recognised by psychologists the world over. We aren't taught enough about psychology and abuse. It should form a major part of science lessons if you ask me. I think her son had to protect his children so felt he had no choice but to keep a distance from her whilst she was still in denial. This is a tragic story which could have happened to anyone and my heart goes out to her and her family.
I feel sorry for a lonely woman dismissing her man's talk of killing her as simply "stupid". But how can I judge, when I've never been there, never done that. How can anyone judge her? Loneliness, love, soulmates... These are words I probably don't understand. But they seem to all be related somehow.. Perhaps one feeling leads to the other. May God protect that lady.
Easy to judge. You think , the man wants to pay to kill me...I have grand babies...babies need to be safe...hey stupid, your kids mean more than a guy who wants to kill you.
Some people see the illusion in a relationship and not the reality in the relationship.
Just SOME people?
Jon and Stefanie's story really made me happy. Really cheered me up as well.
What a brilliantly gripping and well-made documentary, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks for posting.
Jonathan hit the jackpot. What a nice story
John's 2003, nickle back beard+ Soulpatch is what made stephany fall in love. Haha
I was trying to find a comment about it. I knew I wasn’t the only one looking at that lol
I just cannot understand who can u love someone who has threatened to kill you and u still want to be with that killer ! It just bizzare & Crazy ......
I have loved and been so hurt; I had given up on love but somehow this documentary gives me hope. 😌
Stephanie and Jonathan's love story gives me hope. I am hoping to meet a man like him someday! oh well, in the meantime I suppose this old world keeps on turning!!!!!!!

The lady with the fake cop boyfriend: she was terribly naive and blind, but I get it, and I honestly felt a bit sorry for her. Good for her for getting smart in the end.
The couple with the princess wife: what a lovely, lovely couple and family!❤️ they restored a bit of my faith in the world. I think their marriage is happy because they didn't rush into things.
The older woman whose husband took out a hit on her: oh my, utterly delusional. She said her sons would have killed the dad, and this makes me think that they really know who their father is, and they've probably been seeing signs for years, while the lady has been willfully blind. Sad.
Don’t race mix, people!
Daisy pl
We all can see that racing mix go rather well, because of all the ppl involved in this story, they are the only ones that made it and are truly happy. They have a wonderful family and in the end it all worked out. So please, refrain of the silly remarks you made, they are not even funny...
What a great couple.
Daisy he wasn't their Dad they'd both been married twice before and I think she said they met in their fifties. It's sad that she lost her family because she chose to believe he was innocent. I think he's guilty but I sort of understand why she doesn't want to believe it. One things for sure when he gets out of prison he won't want her harmed because he knows he'll get the blame.
It appears Shannon is trying to blame Martin for her hasty, unplanned decisions.
I feel like Stefanie is the female version of Eddie murphy in coming to America and Jon is the girl at Mcdonald. Love their Stories. Now as for the rest of the stories, I truly wish each find happiness with self before getting involve with anyone else and bringing all that hate on board.
The Princess from Ghana is absolutely stunning.
It's terrible when your fear of 'Loneliness' makes you continue in a relationship with an Evil Man....
Weird how the two guys who seemed perfect both turned out to be absolute scumbags and the creepy guy who stalked a girl for two years turned out to be an absolute sweetheart. :p
Wendy, please open your eyes before you end up deceased in your home, left for goodness knows how long before someone finds you in a really unpleasant state, thanks to the person you love! As a daughter myself, I can fully understand why your sons were unable to stay to watch you get hurt. And if you can't think of your sons, think of your grandchildren. Your sons cannot allow you access to your grandchildren while you're not willing to accept the reality of how dangerous your partner is! How do you think your grandchildren would cope if they got to know you & then your nutter of a partner decides to kill you?! But just as importantly, have enough self-respect to protect yourself! How can you not see that you deserve much better?! Please wake up! I wish I could just shake some sense into you!

I'm surprised he didn't tell her that he was a spy. If he's going to make up a lie, it should be more exciting and elaborate.
This is like one of them "take a break" magazines but in documentary form.
I think the "LOVE" word is used to freely&easily theses days.
After watching this video, I think if a relationship is going smoothly without a fight than maybe it is a red flag
Don't say this 😂 Maybe my beau is already plotting to kill me while being wonderful... heeeelp 😂😂😂
Not at all, fights are as decreased when both the lovers are mature and understanding.
All healthy relationships should have bickering over some kind, because it is impossible for each other to always agree on everything forever 100% so there will be arguments...now arguing and toxic arguments are two different things.
How could you choose a man who tried to kill you over your own flesh n blood who tried to protect you!!!...that woman is an absolute discrace!..so selfish! Smh

Attachment and love are not the same thing. But the western ideal of romantic love encourages this dangerous delusion. There's a lot less love around than we might want to believe! If you let go of childish idealisations of love, you will have more realistic expectations of yourself and others and will be able to be happier as a result.

OH, no a council estate!
The horror!
I & my husband Paul ( NOT the Olympic coach ... ) watched each other for 10 years before speaking ... he was a " bad boy " racehorse rider & I , a Dressage/ 3 Day Event / haute' e'cole person .
We were chalk & cheese at that point .
When we finally met up for real , we'd hammered out prior what we are happy to deal with and what are deal breakers . And we never looked back .
My husband passed in 2015 ...I'm still destroyed but since the gods won't decree me to pass in order to join him , I've finally decided to carry on & try to rebuild my empire.
I've no family whatsoever & it's not easy starting from scratch ...
My husband still leaves coins in my way & signs that he still loves me ...
Love never dies .
P.S. No other man could ever fill my Paul's boots .

"He saw his best friend killed right in front of him more than once." How many best friends he have?

Exceptionally well done. I really enjoyed how the documentary diverged from the common style we have come accustomed to. The realistic outcomes and emotions created moments where one could relate and use for future self-evaluation.
I'd love to see how the last lady's husband changes after getting out of prison. There has to be a medical term for her kind of "love".
I also wonder how love feels about being portrayed as an everyday man taking all the right steps to marrying a princess, an older bride using it as a reason for staying in an intimate relationship with a man who tried to kill her (or at least use such cruel words to describe her because he got "carried away"), and an Amelie doppelgänger getting duped into living with a criminal liar...
She's meaning she looks like the girl in the film 'Amelie'.
Danae, it's a French film, seem to remember it's quite good.
Sunny K yeah I actually think the guy probably knew that she was a princess and he's just basically a Mail Golddigger who did a really good job and I think that the princess likes it as well because then he's in a situation where he always owes her something because she's this beautiful princess up on a pedestal and she gave up all that stuff just for him so she can go in charge the credit card through the roof and then just laugh it off as, oh well honey you know what I'm used to I'm trying to learn about money be patient with me darling. And he's just like oh yes of course you're a princess after all. So I definitely think she gets a lot out of the equation as well psychologically and I am completely sure that she wasn't totally cut off so he definitely gets a good lifestyle she may not have become the next queen but I'm sure she still has a really nice trust going on
Ever heard of punctuation, Zahra?

I think you can never excuse yourself if love comes to your life because it has a very strong force that make you connect with the other person. Love is a very wonderful feeling but you really have to be sure of the person before you sweep off your feet because sometimes it's not love that you're feeling but it's lust.
Love and infatuation and two very different things.
Can you imagine having a guy put a hit in you and u on court trying to say he would never hurt u, the fear or being alone is crazy. And the one the quit her job over the benefits guy… this is why u meet the family and visit the home meet the co-workers. Any man that tells u her works undercover or FBI or Interpol is a no no.
