It’s actually crazy how many new great pokémon are in this gen, I’m glad they made most of them such viable options
Anihilape looks amazing
I feel like palafin and kingambit will be really solid in Ou
I'm glad they evolved a few of the older gens pokemon
@@Leicester_Ansulrua palafin op af it’s getting banned
I disagree, so many of them just don’t have the stats that match up to previous gens. Like I loved Scovillain, but his stats aren’t great.
tinkaton is probably one of my favorite new mons. Its design and concept is so cool and it’s actually fun to use
It's poppy from lol
@@TheDonlukas that's what I nicknamed mine 🤣🤣🤣
Its very weak. Shit stats
I agree
I love tinkaton to named mIne Jotuun
I’m a huge fan of Annihilape..primeape was my favorite Pokémon when I was younger so seeing he got an evolution got me hyped. I always had a Mankey as early as I could in red/blue/yellow when I was younger
This is literally as if I wrote this comment
I remember being a clueless kid playing blue and randomly caught a mankey early game as an avid charmander user at the time I was pleased to finally have a way through Brock. All of that to say I understand the love for Mankey and primeape
Dude i absolutely love the fact they put a Godzilla pokemon, kinda surprised they haven’t done so sooner, but I’m super looking forward to getting to roam around on koridon
Umm Tyranitar says hello
Is Tyranitar a joke to you?
Listen I know that T-tar has been the Godzilla pokemon for a very long time, but if you actually look at backscalaver he looks a lot more like Godzilla
Plus I wasn’t thinking about T-tar that the time
All these years playing Pokémon it never occurred to me tyranitar could be a Godzilla pokemon lol, but as soon as I saw this new mon I knew immediately it was Godzilla inspired
Skeledirge, Pawmot/flamigo, toedscruel, tinkaton, veluza, and lokix was the team I used swapping pawmot for flamigo when I needed ground immunity. Very fun team to use of all new pokemon just make sure you have a +speed nature on skeledirge and veluza makes those two mons so much better in an in-game run. Tinkaton is a beast of a pokemon. The team also has a lot of intimidate negating as well overall super fun relatively early game team that will carry you through the entire story
i actually enjoyed using maushold on my playthrough, while it is a weak boring normal type, population bomb can be so overpowered paired with loaded dice and technician, it can tear apart teams with reliable 250s hitting every turn, without terastralizing. add in the op tidy up and you have a monster. i ran u turn and charm too for quick swaps and support for heavy hitting sweepers
Population Bomb apparently works different from other multi-hit moves...
It always goes to 10 unless it misses once so loaded Dice is useless on it, you use Wide Lens on it so it doesn't miss at all and go for the full ten!
@@ExcalibeonSwordofEeveelutions You’re right that Loaded Dice is wasted, but I would like to add that if you’re willing to deal with its shak-ish accuracy, you can also give it King’s Rock to give a MASSIVE chance to flinch the opponent, since all 10 hits have a chance to flinch with it.
Another good pokemon to use playing through, is Slaking. Get giga impact on a small island early on, and teach it to him. The truant turn where he loads, is used as your recharge from giga impact, so every time you attack, it's 150 plus his normal bonus, and it will one shot most pokemon as he has INSANE stats.
I would also recommend Clodsire, it evolves pretty early like level 20 I believe and it is tanky as well
I thought I would replace it eith something else but it's so fucking good
I was gonna use Grafaiai based on design alone but I boxed my Shroodle for Wooper because it just seems to be succchhh a better option. It’s good to see so many people praising Clodsire, maybe I am making the right choice 😂
@@KreationsOvMatt like when I was battling the Miraidon (the post-game one) I just spammed amnesia until my special defense couldn’t go any higher and it ATE UP HYPER BEAMS TAKING LIKE 30 DAMAGE LIKE BLOODY HELL
I feel like I just used a Calm mind/Chilling Water blissey in place of what many are using Clodsire for. It's been my favorite mon since gen 2 so I ended up running through most of the game with her. Even resulted in a VERY amusing visual bug for a bit where during cutscenes/raids she was randomly showing up. Just stood in front of the enmy raid mon or somewhere randomly in the cutscene. Got a bunch of amusing pics of it.
Clodsire hard counters most of the badge fights and elite 4 by itself. So yea.
I love the idea of Palafins ability Zero to Hero. It's such a cool concept and I love it, however, It may be a bit overpowered though.
thankfully I cant use it because im not going to pay for Nintendo online while sucks
useless in raids tho
Requiring a swap out like this isn't always useful, especially because you have to switch out once, allowing the enemy to have a free hit on the swapped in Pokemon, and then you'd have to swap it in again, wasting another turn OR you have to wait for the swapped Pokemon to faint. This can work if you have a bulky setup Pokemon that you can swap Palafin out for, then it can survive and set things up, but this would be very specific and only useful for fighting against other people. In game, there's no need to deal with all of this time wasted.
@@BN99239 thats why u use palafin's flip turn on the first turn, and swap into an eject button mon
@@darkblaze373 You dont need Nintendo online. You can evolve it with local multiplayer too.
Honestly I forgot you existed and when I clicked on the video I had no idea it was you, within the first 30 seconds just hearing your voice brought back so many old zombie’s memories. Glad to see your still making content, keep up the good work man
I think it’s crazy how early you can get a dragon type, cyclizard is really helpful for the first boss wether that be gym or titan
I mean you can just catch a magikarp, evolve him. Go beat titans, go to the north part region, get OP, stomp everything
Gyarados/Pokemon with Intimidate are really useful if you gotta defeat that Donphan titan near the beach early
Cyclizar is pretty solid through the whole game too, mine was a great part of my team right through to the end
I had a dragonite before after I did the second gym lmao
CYCLIZAR DOES NOT END WITH A D! AND THERE SHOULD BE 2 H'S IN WHETHER!
I’m surprised Lokix didn’t make the list.
It evolves early at level 24, gets a super strong bug move at 80 power that lowers opponent’s attack 1 stage 100% of the time.
Eventually it learns the 80 power throat chop, 120 power axe kick, and gets First impression.
I used it to sweep through a lot of middle to endgame gyms, especially ghost and psychic and it proved invaluable in the final fight of the entire game.
Even though it’s not on the list, don’t sleep on Lokix
On the same note Tinkaton is the exact same
Lokix is straight up op and no one is talking about him. His ability makes it so he never hits for anything below 1x. He has a great move set, first impression is amazing basically always get priority, nice u-turn to get out of bad situations, and other hard hitting abilities like you said. He can carry you through the entire game (once evolved)
@@nornornornor9204 Swarm only works when Lokix's HP is less than 33%, so it's not always going to work. Tinted Lens is great but you need to breed for it. Other than that, I do agree that this Pokemon is decent, but it's not bulky enough.
@@BN99239 yeah it’s not really usable without tinted lense honestly. But allowing u-turning out of most situations as well as the priority moves mean it’s generally safe
gen 5 and gen 7 was the gift that keep on giving for bug types
Man all of these pokemon look SO GOOD! And fun to use also. But the pokemon I liked on this list the most had be Kingambit! It just looks like an overall good pokemon. Anyway great video bro really fun to watch keep it up!
new fav has got to be king gambit, that design is impeccable
I'm surprised there's no mention of Kilowattrel. It's such a fast and hard hitting electric/flying type.
I love my Talonflame, is Kilowattrel comparable or better?
@@Wyatt.D23 Better as a sweeper with base 105 special attack and 125 speed.
Oh man, my favorite on this list has probably remained Arboliva, and I can't wait to use it! I loved Smoliv since I first saw it and loved the line more with each evo I saw, and was thrilled to hear it was so good!
I also definitely plan on running a Mabosstiff at some point, though. I've been spoiled just enough to know that Pokemon is going to make me cry!
Mabostiff being called dog meat is an incredible reference that I'm gonna use in my playthrough 😂
Gotta go with Ceruledge as my favorite on this list. The design and bitter blade is great.
Man I wish I didn't chose fuecoco as my starter because now I don't know which one to use, Ceruledge, or skeledirge. And I don't have spot for both of them.
My favorite Pokémon out of this list was Arboliva. I think it is just a crazy good Pokémon with all the synergies within it.
For me palafin is my favorite on the list by far both in design and gameplay wise, just cause hero form straight up makes him look like a chad and his normal from just looks sooo cute, gameplay wise he has a very unique ability and also he just gets things done by dunking on people.
I think tinkatank is my personal favorite because it’s an insane dual typing and just seems strong
It is strong
I just wish it’s attack stat was better 😑 still using her tho !!
@@mikol895 yeah she doesnt hit super hard :( except that one move that you can’t use twice in a row
It’s not….it’s stats are trash and it doesn’t get huge power loll
IT'S TINKATINK, NOT TINATANK!
Believe it or not, Jumpluff has been on my team almost from the start. Quite by accident, really. Until I realized they're pretty effective with the drain attacks. Basically they just drain their opponent's health, but it's got a high rate of getting it all in one go. Unless of course the enemy is a fire type and they attack first. But I've got mine on level 85 and that's pretty much unbeatable most of the time.
I've been personally loving Baxcalibur, although I understand your reservations.
Just evolved Tinkaton though, and that Gigaton Hammer move got me like: ?!?!?!
Im a Gen 1 OG player. I havent had as much fun in a gen of pokemon since maybe Emerald 😂 really love the variety of pokemon and there are some real gems of pokemon that i just love. This is one of the first gens that captured that adventure feeling that made me love the series.
I’ve been watching for so long Pat! Great to see you entering the Pokémon scene!! Being one of my favorite Pokémon from gen 2, the new Whooper and Clodsire has got to be my fav ☺️
Woah I didn’t know you had another channel!! What’s up Pat!
Mabosstiff is probably my favorite new mon (yes, Im a dog lover haha) I’m sad I had to bench mine during my main story playthrough because he overlapped with my starter, but Post Game he is my lead and shiny hunter❤️
+1, I'm also a bullmastiff owner so it was a no brainer hahaha. He is my main since he joined the team early on
Glimmora is so underrated. W list
@officialsmithplays_pokemon Bro stop
This was an op guide thanks mate 👍 subscribed
Thanks for not many spoilers, top vid 👍
Haxorus is always such a dope mon to use on teams but I will say noivern is slowly growing on me
noivern is my fav mon. i dont care about in game capabilities. Its fun watching it battle in the E4 rn at lv60.
My fav has got to be Armarouge/Ceruledge! They just seem so awesome to use especially Ceruledge!
Just finished my first playthrough. I went with Meowscarada, Azumarill, Talonflame, Espeon, Ampharos, and Goodra. Struggled with the gyms a bit, but shredded the elite 4 especially with Azumarill
See, id agree with you, but this time around I took the opposite approach, only used the new pokemon and having an absolute blast, once I've fully done it I might restart just to pick different teams
@@SYOTOS1807Yeah that’s my code for every new pokemon game is to use the new pokemon and maybe use one of my old favorites
I cannot wait to use palafin looks like such an interesting Pokemon with an awesome gimmick
I just bought a switch and came back to Pokemon after over a decade, and I'm freaking addicted haha 😃
Bro I didn't know intimidate was a move ☠️
Houndstone with Last Respects when it’s the last Pokémon alive on your team is just a delete button
Tinkaton is my favorite! She pulled me through most of the game.
Yeah I'm amazed Tink didn't make it onto the list with fairy/steel typing. She's super tanky plus her gigaton skill just about one hit KOs everything with its normal type
As someone whose party is predominantly Ghost-type right now, my favorite is actually my starter, but I've grown to favor Skeledirge.
Dondozo and Dragonite caried me in the later challenging parts of the game. I tired to play the game like a kid figuring things out without google or youtube. 😂 Arven fight was challenging glad I had Dondozo.
1 year later, I just see this video. DAMN, this really helps to new players.
I tell you what, I’m a genwunner but never used it and I’m BLOWN away by how OP huge power azumarril is. Unreal Mon
Azumarill is from gen 2
AZUMARILL IS SPELLED WITH 2 L'S, NOT 2 R'S!
9:16 ummm I think my favourite of these is probably palafin
Houndstone is really good for an insane comeback machine
I'm all in on Flamigo. I love that one that this end game blaster is a regular flamingo
Great video! I love big boy Dondozo. He is one of my favorite
A pokemon that should have been at the #1 or 2 spot but didn't make the list is Houndstone.
It has a move called Last Respects, 50 BP, 100 Acc, and gains 50 more BP for every fainted battle member. So if its the last pokemon on your team is Houndstone you're going to be firing off 300 BP attacks, plus STAB is 450. If you tera, that jumps up to 600. Even a 4x resist is effectively taking a hyper beam, and its only walled by normal types.
The only flaw is the speed stat could be better, however by purchasing a choice scarf or putting a pokemon that can use Sandstorm or a Tyranitar, it can activate Houndstone's ability, Sand Rush, which doubles it's speed and makes it immune to the damage from sandstorm, outspeeding (I think) every pokemon in ScVi besides Electrode. If Houndstone is the last man standing, and there's no normal type on the opposing team, watch with a evilish grin as you dismantle the entire enemy party one by one with hits that make even Dracovish watch on in horror.
my personal favorite is Gardevoir with psychic and fairy moves.. if psychic move is not effective, use fairy move.. very simple..
well, as long as you have better speed, you can basically one hit the opponent..
I have gardevoir in my party but I think they’re only mentioning gen 9 Pokémon
I gave my dondozo rest and sleep talk with physical attack moves for the other two and he’s unkillable. Also good to toss out if you need to revive or use potions cause he’ll tank hits if he’s not at a type disadvantage
Is dondozo good
I know it doesn't look like it as a Pikachu clone but Pawmot is a beast, it's not the bulkiest but dam it's speed, attack and move set make it amazing. I know it's also not the greatest thing but you can electric terystallise and use double shock until you run out of pp. Just a good mon all game considering you can get the first stage as soon as you can catch Pokemon
corrosion/mortal spin glimmora is more viable imo. being able to poison them was clutch! great vid!
My favorite mon on this list is Ceruledge because it's one of my favorite types ghost and its signature move heals itself so if you boost your speed and attack then you could sweep with bitter blade.
Annihilape single handedly got me through the Elite 4 minus 1 flying Pokémon that I used Shiny Altaria for. You simply cannot go wrong with Annihilape. Ghost and fighting? It’s an odd matchup but it’s great against so many different types.
Kingambit has to be my favorite Pokémon. I love it’s design an supreme overlord is the best name of a move ever.
The Top 3 Pokémon on this list were all on my squad! Palafin, Kingambit and Baxcalibur are some dominant powerhouses!!
Thank’s I did not know that their were many new Pokémon!
Technically, you can't catch the False Dragon Titan Dondozo. You can only catch the regular Dondozo
I really like Ceruledge aesthetically, but Annihlape is also one of my favorites
THERE SHOULD BE 2 I'S IN ANNIHILAPE!
Love a lot of the new Pokémon added!
Aboliva is such a cool pokemon such a tiny cute pokemon can turn into this beast of a thing
We’re just gonna forget Toxtricity??? In all fairness, it’s a superbly temperamental pokemon…..
I’m crazy excited for the entire game tbh!! Free world??!! Heck yea!!!! But if I had to pick I’d say Fuecoco!!
yes I'm late I know, but I'm just going to mention this since i don't see anyone els edoing it,...
Terrains are a +30% not +50%. They started out as +50% in XY, but starting in Sword and Shield they were nerfed to +30% This means that Terrain pulse is 50*2=100 (for being in terrain), 100*1.3=130 (for terrain type bonus), 130*1.5=195 (for S.T.A.B.) or 260 if you Tera Grass.
I boxed my starter pokemon because I don't like any of the designs of the starters final evo. So I chose Charcadet/Ceruledge as my partner pokemon. Arboliva and Palafin are also in my team and they are amazing.
My favorite Pokemon will always be Banette and I'm so glad to see my ghostie boy make a comeback
I soloed the entire elite 4 with a swords dance/Bitter Blade/Flame Charge Ceruledge with a muscle band. Fainted once, max revived, and got him back in..
Pat you should make a video on the best pokemon for terra raids, especially with the charizard event coming up
My favorite pokemon on the list was old reliable anahialape he is sooo cool and he has an awesome typing it is also cool that primape got a new evolution.
ANNIHILAPE, NOT ANAHIALAPE!
My favorite Pokémon of all time is Torterra. It’s a TANK when you really need a hard hitting Grass type Pokémon with a strong defense. Hopefully we get to see it and the Gen 4 starters/their respective evolutions later in the game
You called?
"Thats great for elite four"
Me who wasnt paying attention and leveled up my garchomp to 80 before the elite four:
welp
Even though it’s a Lil week, I’ve actually been cyclazard on my team. It has a good move pool, will you set up with it with moves a gearshift it can be a really fast sweeper, dragon tera boost it’s attack and defenses and normal tera Can get rid of the dragon weekness, and it’s good for support when you run things like shift gear, baton pass, shed tail, and dragon claw.
IT'S CYCLIZAR, NOT CYCLAZARD!
2:08 That body slam didn't do any damage 🤣
I have a Ceruledge on my team and I love him! He is one of my aces on my team.
Just thought of set for Annhillape drain punch, shadow punch, 2 elemental punches equipped with boxing gloves which boost punching moves and HA defiant
ANNIHILAPE, NOT ANNHILLAPE!
Annihilape is really good because of a strategy where you just spam bulk up at the start of the match, they start damaging you? Terastile to fighting type andnhit em with drain punch, when you reached max bulk ups and healed a lot of damage just spam rage fist and use drain punch when your low and ez win
Bisharp evolves at lvl54 I think, and kingambit is available only in the bambooforest, the last zone in the game, so its defenitely not a good pokemon for the scarlet violet main story. But it is one of the best pokemon ever created.
You forgot dondozos hidden feature when you bring it into battle with a tatsugiri
Armarouge's design sold it on me.
Thanks for the info 😊
Palafin’s hero is personally one of my favourite, his gimmick is really cool but sometimes I just wish I could use it off the bat though
That would definitely be way too op, it honestly is op the way it is now lmao. 650 base stats is damn near legendary status
@@nornornornor9204 honestly didn’t even know his stats, that’s crazy high tho
@@BetarayBillLover yeah man it’s nuts lmao. Super cool Mon
@@nornornornor9204 Its not "damn near" legendary status it is basically a legend at that point. The legendary dogs from johto only have a bst of 580 lmao. While also onlt bein 30 points shy off of literally giratina dialga rayquaza and palkia lmao and 20 points off spectrier regigias as well as both miraidon and koraidon
I used 3 of these on my playthrough team. They were so much fun to use.
(Team:
Meowscarada
Armarouge
Garganacl
Palafin
Flamigo
Baxcalibur)
I have garganacl too with purifying salt and rock terra, and it is relatively good againts negative status battle. Not too tanky though
My fav Pokémon for this gen would have to be kingambit. I mean just look at that design!
straight up swept the whole game with Azumarill
Cetitan is definitely one of my favorites on this list
As a long time Bisharp fan, I lost my shit when I spotted a shiny Pawniard. She's now a Kingambit and rounds out my Quaquaval, Armarouge nicely
I really would love this game for my grandson and i can tell him the best Pokémon to catch.
Clodsire is definitely my favorite for this gen. It’s just so durpy looking and doesn’t have bad stats
It's the fact it has 464 max Hp, water absorb, recover and you can tera type it.
Now I can't decide what to put on my team
Glimmora is definitely my favorutie on this list, reminds of a beyblade and who doesn't love a spinny pokemon
Ceruledge gets a lot better with its hidden ability too imo
Weak armor gives it a way to set up a swords dance, get hit, get +2 speed and then sweep
The hardest thing will be picking only 6 for a team 😂
Lucario carried my play through until I had Ceruledge to back him up
Me waiting for kingambit:👂👁👄👁👂
miraidon looks like he swallowed a rock shaped like a crossaint and koraidon looks like he has a hunchpack
*MIRAIDON AND KORAIDON ARE GENDERLESS, NOT F*CKING HE'S!* AND THE I IN CROISSANT SHOULD BE BEFORE BOTH S'S, NOT AFTER!
I didn't think the gimmighoul coin grind was bad, just do a loop around the world killing the chest bois and you'll have like 800 then just go check some ruins for the rest
I'm impressed by all of these but I'm looking forward to try ceruledge the most.
This Gen is absolutely cracked with stats and abilities with these Pokémon competitive at the moment is madness with OP builds I love it. Granted the designs has depressed me a bit there are still so many I like.
I think my favorite is Tinkaton and glimmora.
My favorite Pokemon is Lugia :)
lets just forget about garchomp and his swords dance
Watched to see if any on my team were really strong since I haven’t really looked up anything on my playthrough, the only Pokémon on the list I’m using is ceruledge. Guess that’s not a bad thing, I don’t really want to use all the best Pokémon, it would make the game too easy
Yup. Best to go with the ones you like.
Terrible, filthy casual take
