  • ▶︎▶︎ Fred Vasseur sent some fierce comments when it comes to the championship fight in 2024, and while many believed that it would be a Verstappen-led season all the way through, the fact that Red Bull already lost 2 races in the first 6 venues goes to show otherwise. The upgrades that Ferrari is planning for Imola will be tested one week earlier on a test circuit, meaning that the Maranello team is gaining as much information as possible when it comes to tackling down the Austrian squad until the end of the 2024 campaign. But with McLaren’s huge step made in Miami and Red Bull’s upgrades waiting in the corner, could this be the turning point of things that we’ve waited for so long?

    "RB have lost twice already", except for the fact that all we have really learnt is that a damaged or non-functional car is beatable.

    For me this era is such an artificial racing, honestly It's a joke that these cars are fragile, easily get harm and once they go off the track the whole underfloor advantage can be killed immediately. Especially that the cars are as long as a Lincoln Towncar.

    I liked watching Hamilton win. Liked watching Verstappen win. However a lot of people HATE sweeps season after season. Now I can enjoy a good battle for 10th place just as much as 1st as I like everything that races. Gota barstool with a V8? Got two? Let's see em race. Having a lot of names take the the wins through the season would be better for F1.

      As long as they keep the highly overated and error prone Charles Leclerc behind the wheel, they have no chance at any championship at all. All they can hope for is that Lewis Hamilton finds some of his mojo back, then maybe.

    I’m not totally convinced that Newey’s value is all about design. To me his value comes down to his ability to interpret and “design” around the rules. Also…. Because it’s not necessarily about money for Newey, Ferrari (or any top team on the grid) would want Newey for the sole purpose of gutting Red Bull’s morale. Newey’s brain is just the icing on the cake.

    What if the upgrades don't work? It's not a guarantee that upgrades will work. Ask Mercedes or Aston Martin.

    • @mexicanopdb
      @mexicanopdb 11 дней назад +1

      The difference is that Ferrari already knows exactly what needs to be done, Mercedes don't for 3 years in a row, and Aston also didn't in 2023

    • @NazidKimmie
      @NazidKimmie 10 дней назад

      Also the difference is that both Aston and Merc are finding massive discrepancies from their modeling to what they see on the track... McLaren and Ferrari have seemed to get on top of this and their upgrades seem to be 'predictable'. In the end, its not the upgrades per se but the organisational and technical pipeline behind them that needs to be in order. Redbull are dominant not because they are the MOST innovative, but they know how to better leverage the division of labor and the interaction between technical teams - they just did it better...

    Hopefully they have made a slightly larger rear wing.....raised it a couple of millimeters higher....and further back so the car produces greater downforce and mechanical grip....they could or should look at adding diffusers to the front wing...and better sealing the floor.
    On the engine side....look at maxing out the mapping of the airflow intake.
    Just my thoughts....😊😊😊😊.
    Ok Fred....I'm checking the mail for my consultants fee cheque.....😂😂😂.

    Lets not forget Mclaren, Stella has made it clear Miami is not a track where we'd see the full impact of their upgrades, and they won the race. I like Verstappen, even though i support Hamilton, but how good would it be if Red Bull dropped off a bit and we have Mclaren versus Ferrari like the 80s/90s

      Its a smaller upgrade which also could be a track specific upgrade, they already had introduced their major upgrade in China but still Yes, the top 3 is definitely closer than ever in the new era but Red Bull (Verstappen) is still the fastest car

      Asked specifically though about Horner’s suggestions of his pace drop being down to damage, Verstappen replied: “It didn't feel different, so I don't know. Maybe it was already damaged. I don't know. I mean I hit that thing and then my pace was the same so I didn't really know if there was damage.”

      Red Bull is not the easiest to get in the right set-up window , they usually struggle more in sprint weekends and they clearly struggled in Miami ,that doesn't mean that the other teams are really getting closer. All teams have circuits that suit them and others that don't.

      Red Bull aren’t in trouble. Loved Lando’s win but it’s one race and I mean to take nothing from the team’s awesome performance/win. We all want closer competitive races. Fred seems to be a bit of a legend with a good personality. So let’s wait and see what happens in the next few rounds.

    • @stephensegal5187
      @stephensegal5187 11 дней назад +1

      I don't think Fred would ever say things like this. He is a man of actions, not words. Norris won by way of botched Safety car deployment, and Sainz won by way of exploding Brembo brake rotor. We have yet to see a win based on merit and pure pace. Ferraris rear suspension is still lacking, so I am not worried about any aero upgrades until they fix that problem. McLaren is more likely to beat Ferrari, but not at Imola because they lack top speed.
