I met Hue Jackson during his infamous Lake Erie Dive after the 0-16 season in 2017. As I was there along with many people to show support for his foundation. Couldn’t have been a nicer guy, really kind and well-spoken. Although he was truly a terrible head coach. I knew that just from watching the Browns play, and watching Hue on HBO Hard Knocks really enforced that narrative. Good guy tho
"Not Seahawks Geno Smith, Giants Geno Smith," had me laughing. Giants' Geno Smith was hot garbage, which is what makes this year for him so amazing. I am honestly now cheering for the guy.
As a niners fan 2016 has to be the worst year. The midst of the kneeling drama, we had chip Kelly at coach, literally were playing Blaine Gabbert at starting qb. Only wins came against the rams twice
That whole post Harbaugh era before Shanahan could probably be picked, that era was needed unfortunately, your owner had to have reality curb stomped into his face to grow
let me make the case for the 2000 Browns, even though they went 3-13. Worst point differential in franchise history. The 2016 Browns had a worse PD than 2017, but managed to win one game. The '17 Browns lost three games by a FG and one other by 4 pts. That's just bad luck at that point. But yeah, hard to argue against going 0-16.

If anything, it should've been either the 2004 (absolute trash that only had 2 OT wins against the Cardinals to avoid the 0-16) or 2016 (removed from all their 2011-2014 stars and broken beyond repair, swept the Rams).
@@ErikCB912that was Andy Reid's last year coaching the Eagles before they fired him. And 2020 was Doug Pederson's last year coaching the Eagles before they fired him too, despite winning the Super Bowl just three years prior
While I do agree that the 2010 Carolina Panthers were absolutely horrid, the 2001 Panthers were somehow worse as their only win came in week one and then they lost out on the regular season going 1-15. And they didn't even get the 1st overall pick in the 2002 draft because of the Houston Texans being a newly expanded team.
I remember the 2001 Carolina Panthers team was horrendous. They won their first game and proceeded to lose the next 15 with Chris Weinke as their starter. And I'm not sure anyone thinks George Seifert was a great coach after that (despite winning superbowls in SF).

"Packers put out good teams" - not between Starr and Favre. 2 post season appearances and 1 win from 1968 to 1993. People seem to forget they were absolute trash in the 70s and 80s
The best thing to come out of that 13 season for the Texans, was after like the 3rd game that Schaub threw a pick 6, a burger place got on the news with a new deal. The Schaub burger, pick any 6 toppings for your burger, and pay for it dearly.
23:27 Keep in mind, 13 teams in the strike-shortened 1982 season exceeded the Chargers rush yards total for 16 games. That's how bad the 2000 Chargers were at running the ball
It's funny how for the 2011 Vikings, no mention is made of Jared Allen nearly breaking the single-season sack record (by half a sack), but Adrian is who he talks about? Idk man, I don't know if I understand the logic here lol
I’d argue 2016 was way worse than 2022. I mean 2022 we were in some close game and should’ve won some imo. Also you said that Roquan smith was their only good player when there’s others who were good as well
For the the worst Colts season. I would have said their 1981 season. They gave up (a still NFL record) 533 points. Absolutely awful. They went 2-14. They won their first game of the season against the New England Patriots. Lost 14 in a row. And won their last game of the season against the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS.
The 2016 Browns are worse than the 2017 team. The 2017 team had Myles Garrett, Njoku, and Josh Gordon actually managed to play in some games and 6 of their losses were decided by 4 points or less. The 2016 1-15 team was just outright atrocious and if not for an extremely unmotivated San Diego team coming to Cleveland for a meaningless game on Christmas Eve, they would’ve also went 0-16 but in a more depressing fashion because there weren’t really any close games besides the one win which was 20-17
So I guess you didn’t just make this list based on every individual team’s worst single season record? Because a whole bunch of these teams actually had seasons with worse records than the ones you included.
@ErikCB912, well, the video is titled "Every nfl team's worst season EVER." So by that, my picks would apply here. If tubfrog was a good youtuber, he'd include "post merger" in his title

Coaching, coaching, coaching makes all the difference. Injuries are an excuse; so was the team that's been on top for years. Mediocre talent can transpire to really good to excellent players. Look at how many teams bounced back with just about the same roster they had the year before. The difference from a 3-13 to an 11-5 team is a new coach.
The bears had the number 1 rushing offense in 2022 and had fields almost break the single season yard record, there has to be a worse team than that. The defence was garbage and the passing was bad but the running was elite
Houston Oilers back-to-back 72 and 73 Oilers. They 1977 Bucs went 2-12 with a quarterback that was the son of the owner and had never played organized football. The 2022 Texans played for a TIE in the first game and against the same Colts team in week 17. Needing only a tie to get draft pick number ONE pick and decided to win the game on purpose, just to screw the texans
Me personally, would put the 2014 49ers as the worst team in franchise history. Not because of the record, not because of the lack of talent, not because of anything more than the team absolutely falling apart like Rodgers' achilles during the off-season prior.
A lot of us 2001-19 Patriots fans were there to see just how pitiful that team really was in the early 90s. I can 100% see why younger fans loathe New England. A lot of these guys may feel differently if they saw how far they came.
this worst team for a single season will probably always be the inaugural Bucs. Unlike the Lions and the Browns winless season, the initial Bucs were not even remotely competitive on the field. the blame for that goes to the NFL's handling of getting the expansion team talent.
