@@Nordlicht05 to be fair, if you drive on the limit, not many cars last 2 laps on NBR. I do not like Hyundai, but 5N is really good and very usable as sports car even tho it is EV. Plus I am sure, that it would decimate time of this MG nonsense in the video.
@@pistonfury I have got one and it is a basically a hatchback (my last car was a Golf) and it’s the same concept only everything has got a little bit bigger (probably due to safety, bigger crumple zones. Etc). It’s not just taller like a crossover, it’s the same proportion just 5% bigger in every direction than a Golf for example.

I have got an MG4 and it’s a fab car, quicker than anything petrol I have ever owned and super practical for the family. No reliability or build quality issues, it’s actually exceptional value! I couldn’t care less if it’s Chinese, so is the iPhone and many other things that work fine.

I get why people dont think its an MG but what would you rather?! That the MG moniker didnt exist at all? MG to the new generation are building cars at decent prices (relatively speaking) and in the case of the Cyberster to a decent quality point too. Just look at the new up and coming 'AUDI' brand with its chinese partnership, or Jaguars rebranding and Lotus too. Even Ford is a VW these days. Badges aint gonna be anything than glorified Chinese boxes in time. Its just the way of the world.
They're a great duo those 2 - you get banter, car talk, and some fun challenges each time. In a world without the trio now, they're an easy watch and I hope they develop on that as time goes on.
As a side note, Knockhill is a fantastic place for spectating: close to the track, kerb riding great to see in person. BTCC 2024 was my first ever visit and those cars were spectacular! Lovely surroundings (Dunfermline/Queensferry), lovely people. A great place to visit, thoroughly recommended❤

The only time that ive seen someone say something positive about MG is from a sponsorship. Ive driven some of their cars. Genuinely worst vehicles that ive ever driven, in every way. Still holds the achievement of "the only motor vehicles to make me angry"
@Neojhun no, not the warning systems. Every part of the car was just terrible. Engine and gearboxes both felt like something 40 years old that couldn't talk with each other or even its own computer. I live in a regional area with some somewhat rough roads. Driving around in an MG for work was the one and only time a cars suspension was so bad that it gave me a headache. I drove other company vehicles (VW polo, Toyota Yaris, both 10+ yrs old) and they were better in every way. This was a 2021 model mg I did not feel safe driving that vehicle. They are coffins.

Fun lap :-) Id have loved to have seen Ben do a best of 5 lap time just quietly, Interestingly enough I recently had the use of an MG3 Excite 1.5 lt auto with 8000 km on the clock and over 3 weeks I put another 1200k on the thing. I know its bottom of the range but 4 speed auto kinda let it down, fit n finish wasnt the best, NVH was about what my old my00 Accent was and it had squeaks and rattles. The thing looks the goods alright but closer scrutiny was disappointing the the 24k price tag, I know Morris Garage was quirky back in the day but Mings Garage really hasn't delivered.
Another fun video mates! Well done but to the ones crying "it's too quiet " or " it has no soul" have y'all driven any ICE car made in the last 15 years? Unless you've bodged the exhaust they are super quiet and due to the steering wheel and brakes being fly by wire, they lack any feel and are lifeless. No connections to the road.. Give me the silent ev that drags 99.9% of every ICE car it meets and the Rozziers won't hear coming.
Great video as always, but just couldn’t feel it watching the noiseless EV round Knockhill. I’m sure it’s a fine and fast car, but it was very much like watching a lap with the sound off, you just don’t get the feeling of the power.

I had a 1974 MGB, here in America they put these giant rubberbabybumpybumpers on both the front and rear bumpers. MG has changed a lot since then, nice cars. The Cyberster is pretty cool car, shame it doesn't come with a six speed. Awesome drive Ben.
