I started following this Farmall rebuild series and it ended with a cash of new bearings and cylinder liners.. If there are any follow on series, please let me know where they are or please let us know if ther will not be any other follow-ons. Thanks Bill
Same here. Waking up, drink some coffee and watch a man pull a tractor engine. Great entertainment for a former city boy like me! Thanks for sharing this.
Some people spend their time waiting to die inside on the couch. Guys like us can't wait to fix the next machine. I love fixing anything and everything. Good job.
This is like therapy! Dad just moves ahead in a quiet purposeful way, and, like all good mechanics, the only part of his clothing that is at all dirty are his gloves. I'm chilled !
Just to clarify to the "either or" brigade, if you are in a field up to your eyeballs in muck then I guess you are going to get dirty. However, my comment was simply to amplify that fact that Squatch senior seems meticulous and careful. Lets not get too serious about this!
Senior with a Squatch guest appearance! Man I'm sure glad dad decided to film this. He's just as much fun to watch and listen too as Squatch is! Really great video. Thanks for sharing!
Love it. I’ll have to admit that a few vids ago when Junior said they would probably not film the Farmall tear down and rebuild, I was disappointed. But I understood Senior had an operational need to “get her done”. So now I’m thrilled that he is doing content on it. I have a 1961 International Cub LowBoy and love seeing this Farmall content. Thanks!
I truly enjoy watching you and your dad working together. Brings back some wonderful memories of working with my dad. He was a master mechanic and really knew his machinery. Thanks, both of you.
I always enjoy watching old scholl mechanics doing their magic. We had a Farmall H, and a Farmall M. My brother and I were the Barnyard mechanics on the farm. To this day everything is still operational. I am waiting for the next video.
Good one Sr, enjoying every bit of this project. The tractor build looks simple but when you dismantled the front end it is involved. It shows how different manufacturers thought out their design philosophies to stand out from the crowd.
Eddie from South Africa here, Senior looks like my vintage, what also confirms that is his comment - “when all else fails, we can always look at the manual” 😂😂👍👍
Thanks again sr. for bringing the camera in so we the people of youtube can come along for the ride i myself have a super m that siezed on me and find these disassemble videos both enteraining and educational.
I've been watching your videos for about 6 months. I'm sure there are times when you two (father & son) do not see eye to eye but watching and listening to you guys work together is almost therapeutic!
If you use a pallet on your forks then you can leave the axle blocked up on it and make putting it back or using the tractor for something else a lot easier. Interesting to see all the extra bits that have accumulated in that clutch housing!
Looking good Fellas. Brings back memories from doing the rebuild on my M. If I would have done my rebuild different, I would have installed a Super M front plate and cam gear to be able to install a live pump. Might as well do the trans countershaft and input shaft seals while you're in there!!!!! Looking good!
The best way to overhaul an engine. Get it in a stand. My dad only did frame ins on his Hs and Ms. It showed too. Ran a flat crank for years in one of the Ms and refused to fix it. He traded it off for a 1030 case. He called it the 44 for the year it was made. His other was called the 47. We had a 53 Super M also. His 47 had a M&W overdrive in it.
From way back when Squatch Sr. was helping with the filming, I said this is cool. Very neat Father and Son doing this stuff together. Many guys, myself included wish they could have had quality time doing significant things like this together. (Let alone there even be a record of it}. Not putting my Dad down but when our '62 Chevy Biscayne was leaking gas out a small hole in the side of the Carb, he thought the solution was to jam toothpicks and rubber bands in there to stop the leak. ( Auto mechanics in High school clued me in about a contaminated needle and seat/ Float stuck.) Squatch253 you are kinda a mechanical Rock star. Now we can see you learned some of that from Sr. early on. Damn good job with that one Ole Man! Respectfully, I have definate good memories of my Mechanics teachers, and I like that there are still those I can look UP to so I can KEEP learning; even at 60 yrs of age- almost. Rock On Man. .
I worked at a dealership 40 yrs that belle housing wasn’t bad at all. I split a Farmall H the cover was missing the tractor had sat 30yrs possibly mouse yuron and poop splines rusted so bad had to unbolt pressure plate. Oil& grease is good! Don’t clean boys its a preservative
+Squatch253 Wear a dust mask when your cleaning out that bell housing. the original clutch in that M could of contained asbestos. Personally I would just throw one on and be safe rather than sorry. Wonderful work!
Thanks for part 2 , that was another interesting tear down video. For it's age that bell housing wasn't bad for dirt and grease I've seen worse on tractors that were new in 2000. I did a Landini tractor clutch for a customer a few years ago there was so much dirt/ grease and clutch debris in that i found a starter nose totally buried and there was other chunks actually sitting behind the flywheel. He was lucky none of the bits jammed on bolt heads or anything while it was running in behind the flywheel. I'd bet this motors easier to get parts for than some newer stuff to, I'm doing a late perkins T4.236 in another Landini now. Man half the perkins genuine stuffs obsolete and the specs are slightly different for the build application. I'm going to have 20 hours in finding the right parts before I'm done It's not possible to buy the right rebuild kit off the shelf it's got to be pieced together from what I'm finding out ! Take care guys.
Oooo, ouch!!! Surely some one knew about that broken starter nose cone. Something bad happened to bust that nose cone like that. But hey, everything is coming apart easy enough. Waiting on the next video....
I really love this series of videos. Mr Senior you are a Super Squatch when making videos. Please keep going. It was good to see you and your son working together.
Squatch Senior, what a pleasant surprise. I was thinking we would only get to see bits and pieces of this repair. Very well done. I can’t wait to see the next one.
a YT star is born..and as you can tell you have many fans..as well as the few trolls or folks who think they can do better..enjoying this series..a long way to go though..
Your dad makes great videos! Take a couple pointers from him. haha. Good old tractor you have there. It will be around long after the orange one is scrap iron.
We always pulled the plug on the bottom of the bell housing to check for leaks etc. at every oil change, ours had a habit of shattering the throwout bearing.
Another great video....it's a true pleasure to watch two master mechanics (as well as master instructors) work through this project...instructional and entertaining...👍👍👍
It must be a common problem with the farmall M finding broken nose cones in the bell housing. I found the same thing in my 52 M when I rebuilt it a few years ago.
Great video Senior! After watching your set by step tutorial, anyone could tear down their FarmAll.
Makes me want to get one, after 48 years away from farming. 😭
I wouldn't say "anyone" lol
@@maggs131 Tear down is the easy part. Most can manage that. Putting it back together and have it still run, THAT'S the challenge!
I started following this Farmall rebuild series and it ended with a cash of new bearings and cylinder liners.. If there are any follow on series, please let me know where they are or please let us know if ther will not be any other follow-ons.

Interesting a lot, I can't wait to see the next video
Watch out sasquatch, your dad's getting good at these videos, he may just replace you. LOL, great job guys, makes me regret sell my 49 M.
4 spark plugs, 8 valves, SIX exhaust ports? What am I missing?
The clutch and pressure plate look huge, looks like a double clutch? What's up...on a Farmall m?
Love your explanations, you have a very calming voice.
Hi, love it, can't wait for the next episode. Many thanks.

Would you take a look at my Jeep? It hasn't been well lately. I need to get beck to my "circles".
@@jamesjacocks6221 maybe. Post a video of it and leave a link here. We'll certainly figure something out.
@@pantherplatform That's more than generous of you! Just now I'm keen on watching Squatch Sr. work his magic on that noble Farmall. Best to you!
@@jamesjacocks6221 thanks. Best to you too.
I think I got myself a good balance of both. Die on the couch until the machine breaks in some way.
Hey Squatch, Senior is giving you a run for your money :) Seriously, he's good. Can't wait for his next episode.
This is like therapy! Dad just moves ahead in a quiet purposeful way, and, like all good mechanics, the only part of his clothing that is at all dirty are his gloves. I'm chilled !

So glad you decided to bring us along on the Super M journey! It's been excellent thus far.
Senior, you have a gift also!! Can't wait for next video!
I second that.
Having my morning coffee in the Pacific Northwest and watching the Jr. and Sr. team give the FarmAll some love. Life is good.
Senior with a Squatch guest appearance! Man I'm sure glad dad decided to film this. He's just as much fun to watch and listen too as Squatch is! Really great video. Thanks for sharing!
A family that gets greasy together is one special greasy family! Just like 2 surgeons working side by side. FINE job and waiting to see the internals!

Hey I lost my car keys about 10 years ago. Can y’all check that bell housing real good to make sure they ain’t in there? 🤣
A delight to see the family team in action, both super talented mechanics! Thanks for sharing!

Dam nice to watch an . old time pro at work, everything thought out and presto, all done. Great.
Senior, add some Fire Crater pistons in her and get Junior to machine the head abit, that thing will be one mean machine!

I really love this series of videos. Mr Senior you are a Super Squatch when making videos. Please keep going. It was good to see you and your son working together.
First class video 👍 everything explained clearly, never worked on an M but see a few similarities to other international tractors I have worked on 👍👍
I have just discovered your channel and enjoying the videos. It is a lot more interesting than watching TV. Great job.
Only an optimist would leave parts of a broken stater engine in the bell housing. What could possibly go wrong.
Go Senior. Thanks and keep it up. Interesting the treasures you found in the bellhousing. Previous owners buried treasure?

Papa Squatch love the videos. Your narration is simple, direct and to the point. Looking forward to the rest of the series..
You better be careful, Sr. Is going to take you job. IT is true, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Great job.
Very very well narrated, Squatch Sr. Thanks for taking the time to educate us!
We always pulled the plug on the bottom of the bell housing to check for leaks etc. at every oil change, ours had a habit of shattering the throwout bearing.
Thanks for sharing with us It was said it wasn’t your intention but it’s nice seeing Senior doing this project.
Its obvious where Squatch Jr got his mechanical ability! Great videos, really enjoy watching you guys!
I can’t believe how much steel is used in one of these tractors....they just don’t make em like they used to anymore.
Senior squatch is a natural on camera! Can't wait to see more! My dad has a super M he uses to launch his boat and I have one to launch the jet skis!
I am sure the parents appreciate your discretion with language for the young watchers.. I hope we get to see you remove the wide front.
I like these episodes too. I really enjoy "restoration" type videos. The pace of this is calming.
This made me almost forget about that prototype moline weekend beginners project. Lol im kidding of course
At 39 years old I’ve learned a lot so far. Can’t imagine a fella like this and what he knows.
im going back to rewatch this series :) watch out for Covid next year :)
SR and JR both make great videos thanks for the entertainment. I know it has to be a lot of work making these
Not hard to see where Jr got his teaching skills and knowledge at, nice job Sr.
Good video. Good voice over. I don't know how you and your son stay so clean doing mechanical work
Senior, You're hitting homers for us! Great job and Squatch252 too. Thank you!
Oh Bugger! I'm now addicted to two Squatch's videos 🤣🤣
Those old tractors are so easy to work on not like the new tractors with all the electrics on they would be a night mair
putting it back together and remembering where the special bolts goes is the hardest
Squatch jn better get a move on with the Minneapolis Moline or the production team might have to review his contract
Great job squatch sn
Great video as all ways . I've leraned a lot watching these videos . Thanks for sharing.
great video .
Hey Squatch what was Squatch Sr's profession?
Chunks in the clutch housing from previous damage. 😊 can't wait to see the rest.
Thanks for all your good work. I watch your show every day !
WOW -- Starter BLowed up Real Good !
Very nice, step by step video like Squatch
The apple didn’t fall far from the tree!
Good job!
sr is doing a great job with his videos!! thanks for sharing !!
Another great video. Thanks, Pop!
Good job senior ! Keep it going please. From Iowa.
Two ads before you even see anything.... not for me.
I feel like we need a hunting and fishing channel from Senior.
O boy if only they were this easy on today’s machinery
That looks like an incredibly heavy engine.
There’s no school like old school!👍✌️🇨🇦
Oh God...The suspense is killing me!!!!
Great video sir please keep them coming!
Finesse on that cherry picker! Smooooooth.
Thank you again this has been interesting (-:
love these type of videos. keep them coming.
Dad's doing a great job on video work nice
Is that an aftermarket front axle or a factory part?
