    Too beautiful for words. Elegant, textiles and exquite embroidary, packed full of artisan craftsmanship of the highest order. Some of the exits reminded me a little of YSL, Opéra Les Ballets Russes. Gorgeous.

    What I liked: The 16 century style bodices on some of the gowns, The Ukranian and Russian embroidery and the simply scrumptious appliques and lace chiffon. I loved the fall of fabric from the back of a very plain gray gown. I just wish I could have looked at things for longer and more closely. There was so much delicious detail. The models walked too fast and the runway was too narrow and short to see this collection.

    • @uranpodobedov2021
      @uranpodobedov2021 9 лет назад +3

      castacino рекомендую Вам прочесть пару пресс-релизов этой коллекции, в идеале - посмотреть видео. не помешает так же прочесть пару книг: белорусский национальный костюм, русский национальный костюм, география за 5ый класс. если деньги есть, то еще не помешает атлас с иллюстрациями: художники Беларуси.
      меня больше поражает другое... как можно настолько не знать СВОЙ, национальный, украинский костюм?

    • @castacino
      @castacino 9 лет назад +1

      uran podobedov
      Я не заперечувала присутність елементів національних костюмів інших держав, наприклад російських сарафанів. Але тут є і такі очевидно українські речі як вишивка, жупани, жилети з овчини - навряд чи це заперечиш. Написано, що є українські мотиви, а не суто українські костюми ! Не треба тут бризгати слиною. Свій національний костюм я знаю, люблю і шаную. І це незалежно від того чи використовує якийсь дизайнер мотиви одягу, який носили мої предки з давнини.

    • @uranpodobedov2021
      @uranpodobedov2021 9 лет назад +3

      слышали когда-нибудь про Бритву Оккама ? не надо искать зебру там, где слышен цокот лошадиных копыт. Там, где вам померещились "жупани, жилети з овчини" = это всего лишь белорусские свитки, причем с типично расположенным для свитки орнаментом. Как вам объяснить.... ? видели когда-нибудь мексиканскую вышивку? вы ведь не будете настаивать, что в ней "присутність елементів" украинского народного костюма? хотя и там и там - цветы)) или например итальянцы тоже носят венки из цветов, но даже за уши не притянешь то, что они похожи на украинские. так и тут: да орнамент, да, вышивка... в общем, славянский стиль, но если конкретизировать - тут нет сомнений.
      И еще есть у нас, белорусов, кое-что не имеющее аналогов в мире - слуцкий пояс, по сути - один из трех китов этой коллекции ;)
      Украина - не центр вселенной, и даже не пуп земли. не надо так рьяно тянуть одеяло.
      И все-таки спрошу еще раз... вы читали официальный пресс-релиз? Может авторы коллекции сами лучше знают, чем вдохновлялись?

      Hi!
      The song is "Moments in Love" by the group "Art of Noise". Excerpt from another RUclips channel: The Art of Noise's first Album is "(Who´s afraid of?) The Art of Noise!", recorded from February 28, 1983 to April 1, 1984; "Moments in Love" was written and composed by Dudley, Jeczalic, Langan, Morley and Trevor Horn.
      12:16 Ms. Maria Grazia Chiuri's sensibility to wear flat shoes here is courageous and fantastic!

      Has it been that long that we now are reusing "Art of Noise" as a runway song?? OMG. I remember when the song came out..and show after show after show used it.

      D. C....I'm amazed too how fast time. I first heard this song when 2 lesbians were girlfriends in mid-80's; it was the make-out music for them. Then 1 moved on to marry straight & have children; however, she's not happy w/ her life... The other 1 remains a lesbian to this day. Thank you!

    Goo-gobs of money spent on fabrics and workmanship...but just how many of their clients will actually buy from this collection?...which looks like a bunch of really pretty costumes. For me, the entire collection was in that gold dress@ 7:38. I would love to have seen more variations on that theme.

      YES THEY ARE!! And I so hate it. God, I miss the days when models were allowed to "wear" the clothes, hands on hips or walking with a bit more sashay. Jeez--it's almost irreverent the way they nonchalantly walk as if they are going to the bus stop, rather than wearing multi-thousand dollar gowns! Not even pausing for people to relish the clothes.

    Ah, many of the dresses do smack of haute couture, just the way the outfits look tell you it can't be off the rack.
    Question: what do the tailors do to prevent unwanted lines and wrinkles on the front and back of the clothes? On some outfits the clothes look as though they were painted onto the wearer, with no visible signs of lines or wrinkles on the fabric. My tailor can't seem to do that on my clothes!

    • @keirahazlewood4223
      @keirahazlewood4223 9 лет назад

      Ankh Pom These are couture gowns, its in the ways its made. From the repeated fittings, to hand stitching to the pressing techniques used on fabrics before and during crafting. One documentary I saw showed them steaming each individual piece of fabric so apparently it would never crease. They said you could just pull it out of a suitcase and it would permanently be pressed.

      The people behind haute couture are master craftsmen/women who have decades of training and experience in their careers. They are no ordinary tailors or seamstresses.
