let us prey If Galliano was so great where is he now? If he was that great why isn’t he bringing greatness on to another house or better yet his own. Galliano is a costume designer and quite frankly people got tired of going his fashion theatric performances.
@@felixignacio3209 Galliano was fired due to him attacking some Jews, not because of his talent. You do know that right? I sure hope that you know that he works at Maison Margiela and will probably never work for the biggest brands due to his comments, NOT because of his talent or people getting tired of him.
Raf's Dior is my favorite, he took classic elements and gave them a futuristic approach. Now we have Maria Desgrazia doing the same strapples gown 50 times with different words embroidered, some hats, the same belts and random signs of "Feminism".
so galliano referencing past decades and heidi actually copying and pasting past decades is ok but it's not ok when raf does it? the only thing that matters to you is if they sell? you sound like a piece of shit
I think the idea of Haute Couture is subjective and thats what I like about this collection. Theres nothing stopping their customer from changing the length, color, or fabrication if they want. This is all just a base of which I find to be sleek, modern, and very playful. While I've seen those boots at Hermes, and some dresses are Miu Miu like, I think the whole package is very Dior. Galliano never thought about anything current, he was always inspired by the past. I think Raf is able to look into the past and allow it to still be contemporary.
NADS IQ both RTW and Couture sales increased for Dior under Raf Simons. But I guess using "lame" and "shit" as adjectives are also subjective opinions for a lack of intelligence.
With this collection, you see Raf finally find his own and take some risks with the collection. Love his unusual colour combinations and modernity. And for the people saying this isn't couture: you are insulting the skilled craftsmen and women who spend months making these amazing costumes
NADS IQ SALES of Christian Dior Couture enjoyed a significant boost in 2012. Raf Simons' debut haute couture collection for the fashion house prompted a 24 per cent rise in comparison to 2011's figures, with total sales for the year equating to €1.24 billion (£1.07 billion
wasting the skill of the craftsmen just to make such uninspiring haute couture collection is even more insulting. Talented designer will know how to play with color while still keep the clothes aesthetically pleasing
Dior haute couture made from best fabrics quality and handmade, Raf Simons also a genius in fashion world. But I think 80% looks visually look like ready to wear. Love the boots!!!
Nothing like Raf Simons he changed Dior in such a way and his view of feminism no other designer that comes to replace him will be able to better him. A true shame that Raf Simons is stepping down. 😔
I see Natalie Portman !! and the dress that speaks Natalie Portman is the blue dress at 6:02-6:08, based on what I saw her wear during Awards Season run of 2011. Natalie's name is written all over that dress, I love how she looks at the dress when it makes it way back around pass her at 6:22-6:23!! Im betting on seeing Natalie in that dress soon she has around 2-3 movies and a directorial debut opening this year, lets wait and see.
I personally love this collection Raf did a great job! I love the intricate detailing on the dresses and the little touch of femininity while being modern and forward and those periwinkle boots love
I actually really liked this! I didn't like the jumpsuits at the beginning but after that it surprised me how nice the dresses were! THE BOOTS ARE AMAZING!!!
Just wow come on people seeing the most recent fashion show for Dior and this there's just no comparison I have no words. Raf why did you leave? He chose the best models for his runways.
it's funny how people spread hate to Raf ("he's destroying Dior's legacy") but look what Galliano did to Margiela, destroying Martin's principles...lmao!
Very nice dresses.... The boots are ok...but I liked in particular the last pair because they're more discrete while still being flashy but in a haut couture way...
Rate of collection : C- I thought the colors were vibrant and the fabrics were very nice. But-- I thought the designs were very good. I didn't LOVE one single design or even really like one. But it's okay because I'm not a big fan of Diors clothing anyway
The best point at this show are still the shoes. Kinda disappointed by the designs of the dresses and the choosing of the colors (more pastel would have made it way better I think) but the models were perfect.
ok ,actually I just want to point out my view . Haute Couture is depending on their 'detail' , 'hard works' and 'embellishment'. I am one of the Chanel fans although I am a boy . I loves what Karl does , Chanel is really nice but it can't jump out from the box . What Coco said "Fashion Passes , Style Remains" . Yes ! Chanel really remains their style . I love Raf's design and idea of contrast color , you can't see any this kind of color in any Haute Couture Collection , they always use , pale pink , white , pale blue and use embroidery or pearl to embellish their Haute Couture . SO , Raf is really a Rad Man .
Who is the woman sitting in the audience with the long wavy black hair nd white dress with sleeves and a slit? Her style is impeccable and looks lovely from afar. Anyone?
"In general, however, it would be interesting to see some real renewal in the couture iconography, which has been almost the same for fifty years. Maybe the rise of an aesthetic that, while being averse to the superficial flamboyancy that is so relevant today, could embrace something a little more challenging than normality, and be less overtly referential to the past. Couture is, by definition, conservative, but the status quo can be broken. Think of what André Courrèges and Pierre Cardin did in their day, and Madeleine Vionnet before them. They succeeded because they found new clients by catering to the needs of the evolved and the emancipated. Experimentation is good, but it only becomes relevant when it stops being a stylistic exercise and turns into something that rewrites the relationship between body and dress, altering or evolving the perception of the individual within society. Call it inspired pragmatism. For the time being however, couture lingers in a foggy, if wonderful, limbo."
About Dior Couture by Raf Simons: "At Dior, for instance, Raf Simons continued his relentless path of modernisation and tried with all his force to bring the house codes out of the narrow jolie madame niche. On the whole, he succeeded - this collection was probably his most accomplished so far - but still you feel abstraction in his work, the kind that gives his dresses the aura of beautiful ideas that do not completely match the movements and needs of a living human body. This disconnect creates a charming friction, that’s for sure, yet remains unsolved, thus problematic."
Just when I was about to give Raf Simons a chance, he makes this... Nothing in this show correlates with one another, the patterns make little to no sense, and the jumpsuits are horrid. The show just makes no sense what so ever. I see no singular inspiration or theme, and any theme or inspiration you do manage to find, seems as if it was recycled from a previous show (for example, those dresses that cut off mid calf that Raf has presented multiple times in past collections) In the end, the only pieces I can really admire are the translucent / embroidered raincoats and the foot wear. Nothings else remarkable, new or even exciting.
I watched movie 「Dior and I 」. Though Raf Simons is nice designer but he seems to not good matching for Dior... I want to see more beautiful curved line and colors . Because it is Christian Dior.
Darian P can you tell me what couture is "supposed" to look, because, contrary to many galliano fans, couture has never been 100% opulence 100% of the time. and also, galliano wasn't even that. look how messy spring/summer 2006 couture was, nothing was wearable. at least with raf, couture can still live on the bodies of women around the world, which is what couture was created for, personalised, customized, and most importantly exquisite work.
i agree. its just does not WOW me. I do think couture should look more technically difficult and this does not look sooooo challenging to me nor inspiring
technically difficult does not equate to volume. i agree that galliano made looks that appear more intricate, and abide by traditional notions of couture, but your point is not fair to raf whatsoever. raf has pushed the dior ateliers in ways they haven't before. it's been said that when raf wanted to use certain materials, the atelier was baffled as they had never worked nor thought of it for the purpose of their task. raf's role is implicit, but that doesn't mean it is great. his role at christian dior has done more for couture than any other designer done has done for years.
Now that y'all complaining about Raf, see what Maria Grazia is doing, Raf was so so much better than anything maria grazia is doing to the house
let us prey If Galliano was so great where is he now? If he was that great why isn’t he bringing greatness on to another house or better yet his own. Galliano is a costume designer and quite frankly people got tired of going his fashion theatric performances.

the shoes are iconic
Imagine the average couture client, some aristocratic matron in her middle age, trying to get her normal-woman legs into those, though.
50s-60s Dior meets Raf's acid rave aesthetic meets his sci-fi aesthetic
NADS IQ This period in fashion is part of Dior's heritage. If he ignored the codes and heritage people would be outraged too.
NADS IQ
It's a heritage brand. He should have done that with his own label.
so galliano referencing past decades and heidi actually copying and pasting past decades is ok but it's not ok when raf does it? the only thing that matters to you is if they sell? you sound like a piece of shit

Incredible show, well done Raf Simons!
Dior haute couture made from best fabrics quality and handmade, Raf Simons also a genius in fashion world. But I think 80% looks visually look like ready to wear. Love the boots!!!
Divine collections! Nice job Raf!
The second track (4:34) is Hadron Collider by Rita Furstenhof, out later this year on Optimo Music.
This is my favourite fashion show of all time
Incredible textiles and use of embellishment. Exciting, modern and fearless, bold colour combinations.
Nothing like Raf Simons he changed Dior in such a way and his view of feminism no other designer that comes to replace him will be able to better him. A true shame that Raf Simons is stepping down. 😔
Fuck Raf Simons for Dior!
+afe garba how dare you? Did you see the recent fashion show? It was total crap compared to this. I had to watch this just to reaffirm it.
Angie Velez actually i did
this particular one is the only show i would actually like
Love everything. Texture, colour, JUMPSUITS, it's all perfect.
I see Natalie Portman !! and the dress that speaks Natalie Portman is the blue dress at 6:02-6:08, based on what I saw her wear during Awards Season run of 2011. This collection was amazing! Look at how Azzedine Alaïa claps when the models are walking out. He's mouths the words "bravo"
He's the only one clapping all the way through! The rest are just rude
The Models are hideous! The Clothes are fabulous! Finally, not a copycat collection! Stunning!
I can't stop listening to the second instrumental piece of this runway! Ugh so good... ❤️
FABULOUS!!!!!! Amazing!!!!
raf simons for dior was spectacular, futuristic and also very timeless.. missing him
I love the work of Raf Simons at dior, is taking the Maison to this century
What is this music? I've tried looking it up. Help? ALL of it.
Alli Cat
song 2 is already answered by 'Bogdan Kolchenko' in other comment
Ich bin begeistert- danke vielmals!!!
Omg! Fabulous show! What's the second soundtrack?
Love the 60's vibes and those catsuits and boots!
One of the collections I've liked the most
His most artful collection.
it's funny how people spread hate to Raf ("he's destroying Dior's legacy") but look what Galliano did to Margiela, destroying Martin's principles...lmao!
This collection is growing on me
I love this. The whole thing- set, music, clothes. I think Raf is starting to hit his stride.
In 2023 this still looks amazing.
Very nice dresses.... The boots are ok...but I liked in particular the last pair because they're more discrete while still being flashy but in a haut couture way...
What's the name of the 2 soundtracks that are used? Or is it just one whole? It's fantastic!
@Alli Cat, thank you so much! I hope somebody can find the second part. I'm looking for it myself, but no luck. 😔
i know for a fact that the last one is by david bowie
not sure which one, though. the collection was semi based on him
+Angie Velez 2 sound is Rita Furstenhof - Hadron Collider.
+Bogdan Kolchenko thank you!!!
love the colour so much.
Rafs getting better and better! I love! Blessings! xoxo :)
Fucking kidding me, jumpsuit in a couture show?? This isn't couture... This isn't even fashion design, this is 5 year old art project
eu nunca sei direito se eu gostei da coleção que o raf fez pra dior. já vi coleções melhores dele, mas também já vi piores, então essa fica na média. mas uma coisa é certa, os cenários são incríveis.
LOOOOVE the boots!!
Very artistic.
Raf Knocked it out of the BALL PARK HE BLEW ME AWAY
Es fantástico una maravilla
This is Christian Dior at 21th Century, no more to say.
STUNNING :D
Loved the dress at 1:12!
Actually I just liked some of the jumpsuits , I'm so excited for Elie Saab fashion show
The best!
...Raf Simons is stepping down.....who next?
Jarring yet cohesive. Challenging yet familiar. A context and Content brawl. Zeitgeisty yet intelectual. A colour assault in killer sexy shoes.
I love Raf
AMAZING !!! FRESH !!!!
GREAT SHOW!
Anyone know the soundtrack?
Hands down omg
I´d love to watch this show with the original soundtrack, with David Bowie songs.
Really ? This music wasn't on this show ? Could you tell me which music did they use for the show ?
4:38 beautiful !
Rate of collection : C-

the first real Dior collection after the departure of Galliano.
vừa xem xong BST fall-winter 2015 qua đây thấy hẫng hẫng!! với lại tui đã nhìn thấy Angela Baby trên ghế khách mời :)
Why are some of the shapes and silhouettes so reminiscent to Nicholas first shown at Louis Vuitton?
20:00 looks waterproof, so totally save this for a rainy day 😂
ok ,actually I just want to point out my view . Haute Couture is depending on their 'detail' , 'hard works' and 'embellishment'. I am one of the Chanel fans although I am a boy . Jesus, I miss his work for Dior, This was an era, hope the house can evolve with or without Maria Grazia
It s nice! But it is Raf brand. It's not dior
This is like...what to wear under the rain collection.
Can someone please tell me the name of the model at 2:13 ? I can't remember her name.
So what should distinguish haute couture from fancy off the rack outfits?
Future Perfect.
Adorable!
Who is the woman sitting in the audience with the long wavy black hair nd white dress with sleeves and a slit? Her style is impeccable and looks lovely from afar. Anyone?
Her name is Angelbaby she's a Chinese model
Nida Al Khalil Thank you!
Beautiful & elegant but it looks more like ready-to-wear than haute couture to me
These clothes look like ready to wear.
ah.. i miss raf simon's dior
Automatic LOVE
Where have I seen those vinyl coats before?
I wish I could contour!
is this supposed to be a commentary on Chanel? this is like watching Prada RTW on a Chanel runway WTF /:
Love!!!!!!
wooooooow impresionante!!!
Ugly, ugly, ugly. I never felt so much disgust for Raf's work.
Nada de emoción para ser alta costura , es algo simple no feo pero no es alta costura es una colección linda sin más
he basically brought the plastic theme back
Omg ANGELABABY!!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😳😱
Best fashion house ever... don't you think?
No. Best fashion house was fall - winter 2012
nice very nice .. all the girls .. petty .. bautifull . my emotion
has anybody any idea of the soundtrack?
This is Haute Couture?

Raf is doing a great job at destroying the the house of Christian Dior!
I watched movie 「Dior and I 」. Though Raf Simons is nice designer but he seems to not good matching for Dior... I want to see more beautiful curved line and colors . Because it is Christian Dior.
+NADS IQ Yes, I understand what you say. I felt strange a little that he used exactly painter's prints for his dresses. Lame...oh..it is "rippoff"!
Anyone know this song!!!!!
JADORE DIOR
timeless collection: Maria Grazia my ass.
The whole collection looks ready to wear Galliano 4 EVA

Eduardo Zuniga None of the collection is Ready to Wear. It's made to measure and sewn by hand. It's not extravagance that make clothes couture.

the materials did add something but they remind me of Versace. I just don't get any fantasy from him
Christian Dior without John Galiano is Lost. Sorry, bring back Galiano,
your Galliano is destroying Margiela....
