Can someone enlighten me, on some situations why don't the player just do a short shot when the opponent is far away from the table, are they forced to do a long shot?
@@caz8135 I think it's easy to get a turnover if you try short-shot a lob shot from opponent.
@@caz8135 If u try it yourself you will realise the short shot is much more slower than the long and smashing one. slow in the most of situations means lose 02:36 , we used to underestimate how fast and strong XX is because how entertaining his players are.

Xu Xin talks about how he plays the spot: "I am just too good." LOL. He is so proud and bold. I'll miss him after his retirement. No player is like him, playing the sport like making art. He is happily married for many years, and his girlfriend (now his wife) left the national team in order to support his career. He is such a talented and lucky man.

Leo Müller he used to be a pretty consistent top 10 player with a lot of showmanship and a very difficult and uneasy game to play against. He liked to do chop blocks and other creative shots to surprise his opponent but lately he’s been playing a more “normal” game, less creativity, less akwardness and his results haven’t been terrible, but they’re a lot less then a few years ago. With here and there a very big loss, I think he lost about 5 month’s ago (could be longer) to a player not even within the top 350 in the world.

Xu Xin really brought penhold style to a new level. The reverse backhand 2m from the table which only Wang Hao can do prior to Xu Xin + the consistent forehand and peerless creativity. He is the most complete penholder I've ever seen.
No one will be like him in the future either.

Among the Trio (together with Ma Long and Zhang Jike) Xu is regarded as the most born-talented one with supreme instinct -- so supreme that his 400 degree short-sights doesn't even seem to affect his brilliant long-distance killing. He only accepted contact lens after being criticized by his coach for being too "feeling-oriented". XD

對手很自信的以為佔據了場上的主動，第一拍扣殺就以為會拿下這一分。然而他忘記了他的對手是來自於乒乓帝國的許昕！沒想到第一拍不但沒拿分，反而在兩拍以後就轉入相持，對手都已經有點慌亂了；
第七拍被許昕拿下這一分了。這種局勢對對手的心理是很大的打擊。
This just proves the high quality of videos that the ITTF has at all times and the fact that the RUclips team just doesn't get the access to them immediately.

I've been saying that for years, but no one believed me. The same matches are shown on TV in China at 1080p, so they definitely have the good quality video, just not for free on RUclips.

And he is shortsighted at about -4.00! He did not wear contact lenses during matches for a long time as he didn't get used to the feel of contact lenses. So for many of these shots, he was 'blindly' hitting it! This guy is insane!

Xu Xin is really amazing at pulling. You can't see him in the camera, but the ball never lands. The worst thing is that he is short-sighted, but he never wears glasses during the competition. I can't believe how he saw the ball.😃
short sighted too and i play without glasses haha...actually you dont really need good eyesight for table tennis. the table is really small and after just playing awhile you pretty much get used to the feel
