My operation has finished literally around the time this video is released! Things went well and thank you all so much for your kind words 🙏🏼❤️
Great news Henry. Love your work and I am grateful for the content you produce. I've learned a ton from it....
Get well soon
That's great news! Now, celebrate with a new lens... camera lens, that is! 😀
Very happy to hear things went well, Henry. Take care of you - looking forward to your new videos. 🙂
@@andybeaupre8370thanks so much Andy
Nice that your operation we t well, have a speedy recovery, take your time to recover.....😊
Great news on your operation. Onwards and upwards. Take care, keep on bikin' hikin' and truckin'
2 minutes in: That's not too shabby!👍Nicely layered like a cake.
Matches , matches, matches! Glad your operation went well!
Recover well Henry and great pictures from ur wild camping
Henry, Think outside the box with your cooking options. Can’t light the alcohol with your flint? Put dry grasses in your alcohol stove bowl and light those then use that flame to light your alcohol stove. Or light a scrap of paper in your pack (food wrappers?)😊😊
The old hand-held pano! Just like the good old days.
Some hi-viz tape to tie around the tent ropes might be useful :-)
Hi Henry, take your time recovering don't rush. Re the Trangia - there is an attachment that will allow you to use a small gas canister...much better idea!
Hi Henry I'm glad your operation went well for you speedy recovery like your videos.
Thank you. All the best. 👍📷😎
Hi Henry,
I am so pleased that the op went well.
I enjoyed the video as usual.
It was good to see you out wild camping for a change and what a place to camp.
great image's as usual.
great the op is finished hopefully you wont be to long recovering Take care Man.
Best wishes Henry. See you in the next video.
Hello Henry.
Just wanted to wish you well , hoping everything went well with your operation, a d that we will see you back producing videos soon.
Great news the OP went well, soon be out and about.
One of my favourite videos of yours Henry, look forward to more of the same
If you warm up the alcohol first it will be easier to light. Put the stove in your pocket for a bit.
Another great video from you .
Hopefully the recovery goes well.
Hi Henry glad the op went well. Lovely views as normal, can't wait to get my Callander. I to have one of those stoves and they a brilliant. I always carry matches in an old 35mm film case to keep them dry with a little bit of sandpaper to strike them. Does the job every time.
A speedy recovery Henry, get back to what you love doing.
On the topic you presented earlier in the video, you might want to try Being A Human by Charles Foster, you might find something that resonates with you, maybe not.
Could you increase the volume on future vids please?
I can watch YT for everyone else on 1/3 volume and it's fine.
I need you on maximum and I'm still struggling to hear.
Videos mixing photography and camping >>
Been watching for a while. You need to come down to the new forest. Let me know when ya do!
Another great vid HT. Glad to see the op went well. Looking forward to the next adventure
So glad everything went well, Henry, and that you got out for a nice little wild camp trip. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Speedy recovery x
Good to hear your operation went well. I hope you recuperate soon and get back out there .
Regarding the trangia , they are great little stoves , couple of tips - dip your finger in the liquid fuel and run it around the rim where the little holes are , this helps get the capillary action going and the stove will burn better / get fully alight easier .
Also if you're using meths as fuel add a bit of water to the fuel ( no more than 5 to 10 percent by volume ) this sounds counter intuitive to add water to something you will burn but it really cuts down the smokiness of meths and your cooking pans don't get so sooty / hard to clean ....
Keep up the videos , I love watching them .
Wishing you a speedy recovery Henry! 💝🙏🏻💝
Enjoyed the video very much, thank you!
Roll up some tissue, dip it in the fuel, light the tissue and drop it into the trangia. Simples! 🙂 But with conditions like that, who wants to eat and drink anyway? 😀
Late addendum: I hope and understand that everything went OK in op.
Glad to hear you're on the mend! Also, it warms my heart to see you discovering the joy of hand-held shooting! One is so much more mobile and flexible.
Be well, thanks as always for the content!
Having done my fair share of "wild camping". The only advice I have for you is; neglect nothing. If it can go wrong, it will. Having said that, work with what you have and simply enjoy. At the end of the day as long as you had fun and are above the dirt and vertical. It's always a good adventure.
Livin' the dream mate..Livin' the dream! Glad the operation went well.
Nice one.
Although your operation went well, I still wish you a very speedy recovery. Your panos were amazing. Oh and don't forget to make a special inventory list for the type of camping and photo shoot you plan to do. A check list is your friend. Take care my friend.
Glad the operation worked well. Lovely camping spot. Living in Tasmania, if I were wild camping I'd have a small power source to be able to charge phone. You were looking at your phone at night which runs battery down. However if you injured yourself somehow you might want your phone if needed. Hopefully you won't need it and you can get a signal but food for thought. Everyone here uses a phone or personal beacon as many spots don't have phone coverage. Love your videos. I also enjoyed the video about taking less gear when going out. 🌻
Lovely adventure - best wishes for a speedy recovery. xxx
Hi Henry, I enjoy seeing the sights with you! Thank you. When I use my Rode wireless 2, even with the wind muff, I get wind noise. Do you do anything in addition to the muff to have such quiet and steady audio? On a different subject, I may be totally off base, but couldn’t you have used your flint to light a stick or a wad of grass, and used that to light the stove? I’ve never camped, so I truly don’t know. Just wondering. Beautiful, beautiful photos as usual. You inspire me to keep going.
I think you would really enjoy Big Bend National Park in Texas.
Yep - Spend a week there, then go up through the Davis Mountains, on to Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Carlsbad Caverns and might as well run over to White Sands while you're "in the area"! 🙂
Glad it all went well Henry! Just watched your video, well done for staying positive in spite of a stove problem!
Great news ! Operation ok ! Loved the video, and the pictures ... and the way you overlay them on the running video .... 👍👍👍 ... Kind regards, Guy
Hi. I was wondering if you could start a small bonfire with your sparks and use that to light a twig or something as a match to light your alcohol burner... just a thought.
Glad to hear the operation went well! looking forward to seeing more wild camps. Your kit looks pretty good Maybe look into a nice lightweight chair (i've tried a couple and settled on the Helinox Chair Zero High Back)
Glad to here the surgery went well! Loved the time lapse at 18:00. As for camping, I do mine in a converted Transit van. :) Bed big enough for my wife and I, solar electric, stove, sink... well we call it camping anyway. :D
Very cool how you posted the first pic in the video. Not a lot of talking and a quick transition to what you saw . Glad surgery went well .
Another great update and glad all went well. Look forward to seeing the bionic eye revealed and more of the same please. 👍👏😉
Great to hear that the op went well Henry - here's to a speedy recovery. Loved your little alcohol stove - brings back memories of when we used them 60 years ago with meths. If I remember right the problem as you found out is that you have to hold the flame to them until the alcohol heats up and starts to vaporise - doesn't take long but you do need a proper flame and not a spark ! If you want something very small and portable, and inexpensive, is the hexi burner.
Thanks for your video and I hope you recover well from your operation. Always appreciate your enthusiasm and technical advice is good as well. Get well soon. Take your time in recovery. No rush
Hi Henry, good to hear that your operation has been a success, all the best for your recovery. Re your video, thanks for another grand day out. Take your time getting better, you've got a loyal following on your channel and I'm sure that we're all going to be here when you are good and ready to get out again.
Glad everything went well with the operation and wishing you a speedy recovery.
Well done Henry! I've not wild camped for years now, but it looked like you did well in terms of going light, that was always my biggest problem. But I would definitely vent the tent, it should be a help, and also in terms of the Trangia, and all similar new gear. Try it out at home first. I always carried a storm proof lighter with me, and it never let me down in all sorts of conditions, winter or summer. I just used to roll my clothes up for a pillow, but your solution looks more comfortable, and your sleep mat looks ace!
Please that the operation went well, take it easy, and see you on an adventure soon!
So pleased to hear that you operation went well. As always, I really enjoyed this video and the images were gorgeous. As others have said, please make sure that you're fully recovered before resuming your activities. I, along with many others, I'm sure, will be ready to join you on more adventures when you do. Take care of yourself, until the next time . . . 😁😁
Glad the op went well fella and a brilliant video. More wild camp vids please. As for Trangia yes you can light it with a spark but if its cold its a pain. As others have said get a bit of tissue or a bit of dry grass/ twig and dip it in the alcohol and light that first, always have a cheap lighter in your bag even the sparks from one of them you can direct better into the burner. And the last point condensation in a tent is not something to worry about too much as we live in England its wet all the F'ing time and condensation is gonna happen !! only way to counter it is to have good ventilation so open the vents and if you can, sleep with the outer doors open.
Great video again Henry... glad everything went ok with operation.... interesting location also & camping gear looks good.... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
Sending healing prayers for your surgery and recovery. I know there are times when you think it wont get better but it always does.
Well done Henry, another Wainwright in the bag. And you got some really nice light 😊.
A box of matches will fit in the Trangia., which runs well on metho.
Stay safe 🇦🇺 54/214
Glad the operation went well Henry, and here's hoping the recovery goes well and you're firing on all cylinders sooner than later. 👍😎
Hi Henry. So pleased that the op went well. Nice little vlog mate, and another Wainwright conquered.🙂👌
Love your passion, Henry. I'd give anything to go on a photo hike with you!
to really be sure of igniting alcohol with sparks H, the alcohol actually has to be quite warm (its the vapour that is what really burns), with the fluid cold (and I bet it was chilly up there when you were doing that) you really want a good flame to set alcohol alight
Also so glad your OP went well saw the announcement on Facebook speedy recovery mate
Happy to hear all went well, looking forward to seeing and hearing your next adventure. Stay well and stay ‘focused’. All the best. Phil
So glad to hear that your surgery went well. I’ve just been to the eye doctor and have been told that I’m most likely going to need eye surgery at the beginning of next year. Not what I was expecting to hear 🙁but knowing that everything went well with your’s certainly helps 😊
Missed that you were due for an operation or procedure. I would wish you well going into it, but I see your comment that it is done. Glad to know it, Henry.
Here is wishing you and full and speedy recovery. Looking forward to you getting back out and living your dream!
Glad to hear that everything went well, Henry. Hope you recover quickly and get back to making more fantastic videos!
Best wishes from the Yucatan for a speedy and full recovery. Be a good patient and do as the doctors say. 😎
It is amazing how long one can survive on a Clif bar
Glad your op went well, Henry. As for the mistake with your Trangia, dont worry about it. I have had a Trangia for years and I have forgotten my lighter a time or two. They are great little stoves.
Get well soon mate and take your time. We'll all still be here when you're ready.
Good luck with the recovery Henry, be back up the mountains in no time at all… love the video.
I'm glad the Op went well! In regards to condensation on the inside, definitely have the vents open, but also (hard to tell in the video) make sure the outer is taught and not touching the flysheet as this can be an issue with condensation on the inside too. 👍
I hope all went well with your op. Make sure you keep to the recovery time. 👍👍
Hi Henry, Any chance you could do a video all about the PhotoPills app? Im tempted to buy it but im unsure how useful it would be. Im new to photographry and your videos are inspiring me to get into Landscape. I love the way you do your videos. Thanks
Great video, and I'm glad to hear your operation went well. As much as I prefer being out away from it all, I do recognize that it is the grouping together of humans that brought about civilization and the technological advances which benefit us all. The city is a nice place to visit, and offers some great opportunities for a different type of photography, but I do still prefer the countryside.
So glad to read that everything went well, Henry! No tips on wild camping here, but when I would still go in a tent in Austria a couple of years ago, one year I got a new tent and I had the issue with condensation as well. I didn't mind at first either, but at some point it would get so bad that it would start dripping and I couldn't sleep because of that sound. Sadly no tips on it, I just had to live with it that vacation. But if you could get some advice on it, maybe that would be a good thing to do before you get the same problem.
Glad the Op went well and hopefully you have fully recovered and getting the benefit of it. The wild camp looked like a great spot, something i have only done once outside Warnscale Bothy , but what an experience. Like you not very sheltered and the wind noise was brutal. Some lovely images with great light. Really wish i was closer to the lakes and maybe 20 years younger lol !
Glad to hear it went well! Geçmiş olsun as we say here in Turkey! All the best!
Thanks for sharing your adventure and so happy your operation went well. And best wishes on your recoverry.
Great views and photos as always.
Glad to hear the op went well and here’s to a speedy recovery
Great news on your surgery! Also, great video! Somehow I’ve gotten too old for wild camping, but still can manage some car camping! It’s always fun! Thanks for taking me along!
Very best wishes for your recovery..brilliant wild camp video with stunning views combined with your passion for landscape photography...an inspiration to us all..Best wishes
Glad your surgery went well. Here’s to a speedy recovery and more awesome videos!
Enjoyed your adventure, speedy recovery.
Henry in the video you said you were using alcohol in your trangia, what was it exactly. I always use meths and never had a problem lighting it with a spark, also get yourself some kind of wind shield which will help with lighting it and prevent the flame blowing out in the wind when cooking.
You definitely need those vents on your flysheet fully open to stop the condensation and it looked like your flysheet needed staked out tighter to keep it off your inner tent and to stop it flapping in the wind, Nothing worse than a loose flysheet flapping around in the middle of the night, as you found to your cost it keeps you awake.
Glad your op went well , I really enjoyed the video, here's to many more ATB.
Glad all went well for you Henry.
Loved this video , really share your sentiment about being out in the wilderness. Speedy recovery mate 😊
good to hear the op went well, get well soon
Glad the op went well. Great video, really enjoyed the slightly different approach 😊😊😊
Great video Henry, I'm glad your operation went well and I wish you a speedy recovery and all the best. Cheers!
Glad the op went well! Loved the wild camping, but always have matches tucked in a pocket somewhere!
Glad to hear your operation went well. Get well soon.
Swift recovery from the op 👍 can't beat the trangia (tran-ja pronunciation) I've had mine 10 years now. You can get a trangia kit with a little kettle Which is great for ration packs and a coff coff too.
Thanks for this video!
I saw on other wild camping videos that alcohol is temperature sensitive and burn better when hotter (didn’t experienced myself).
🇨🇦/🇺🇸... What you mentioned about being MEANT to be outside, outside of the cement and tarmac is the PALEO lifestyle. The chocolate bar??? Not so much!! LOLOL 🤪
Good to hear your op went well. Great video. This is the kind of content I enjoy most and you do it so well, picking up many tips along the way. Some of your newer viewers may have struggled to learn much from your comment at 6.05 (Aperture priority, f11, settings can do whatever the hell we want) 😂 Speedy recovery Henry, looking forward to your next release.
Hello Henry, good to hear you got out before your operation. The view of the lakes was amazing. 😊
Glad the op went well Henry, love the way you can always put a positive spin on things. Not sure I would of been able to do the same if I couldn’t have had my Coffee fix, think the Lakes would be thinking they had a monster roaring, when I realised I could have one 😅😅
Did you really do that panoramic hand held? 👍 Nice images.
Yes, thanks
