Hey all. Really appreciate your support. Please be aware of scammers throughout all RUclips comments on my videos (and other creators for that matter). They pose as me and offer ‘free gifts’. I never offer anything for free like this or ask you to contact me. Sorry about this. I wish RUclips could do more as it’s proper hard for me to keep on top of as I work alone. Cheers 🙏🏼
Henry, there's one thing I can never get sick of and that's your voice. You're one of the few people who talks sense in photography. I just love your videos especially in the fells.
Oh wow!! What a great shot at the end shooting at F5, looks like something that would be on the front of a landscape book cover. Superb job Henry!! Always enjoy a laugh watching you pause the camera a bit for a dramatic shot of the sheep. All the time it must take you to set up your shots from when you walk around and by the camera and set up a shot when you drive by. It goes unnoticed Henry for all the work you are putting in, Hell of a job.
Henry, got to tell you. That 1st shot was bang on! The pastel colors, the depth, the textures created by the land was amazing. The boat house shot is even better than the 1st. Great job Henry! A good day is a cup of coffee and your VLOG to start my day!
This is brilliant! You cannot be in a much different place than where I live (the desert SW of the USA) but like you, I'm drawn to the mountains and finding spots where I can see the ranges stack up and fade into the haze. The scale is amazing.
Never any point in a SMALL full English Henry lol, go big or go home with Full E.. Have just discovered your channel and watched quite a few of your videos today and you are teaching me things already. Tommorow I am taking My Lumix FX330 to an arboretum as I see the colours are changing..You have inspired me to do this. Thank you Henry.
Been to Devoke Water a couple of times and have always found it a calm spot but never been there in such wet weather; you are a better man than I Mr Turner! Not sure about the last composition but the others were spot on. I must spend some more time there. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant video, your enthusiasm for the environment you're photographing is very engaging. You definitely need a drone in your photography bag, it's a great tool to add aerial b roll footage and another layer to your content.👍
Yes Henry great location and pics... love the use of the polariser... something I need to try more...as there are no people is that private or govt. land ??... thanks for sharing your experience... cheers from Australia 😀
Thanks for posting Henry. For various reasons my photography has had to take a back seat for over 6 years. Now I'm retired I'll be able to blow the cobwebs off my gear and get my mojo back! I use a Nikon D7000 and would never have dreamed of taking a landscape at F5 and stacking the images. I suppose it's not much different to doing it by varying the exposure but a bit more 'fiddly'. A great way of keeping the shutter speed up and the ISO down which was never an option beforehand. Although I've been into photography for over 40 years, this short video has inspired me and I'll be binging on your channel. Thanks for the inspiration 😉😉
Weird. We were there last Saturday. It was a beautiful morning and although we were heading home from Eskdale, Devoke Water was too good to miss. I didn't have my camera but Sal took some super landscape shots. Definitely a place to explore. So many accessible crags to climb, have a coffee, eat a sarnie, as well as create some lasting images of the hills.
Great images Henry. I have camped on the small hill behind the boathouse, real dark skies and on a clear night like I had you can even see lights over on the Isle of Man.
This is possibly my favourite video of yours that I’ve seen! Not a lot of other RUclips photographers would take advantage of weather like this, but you relished it and got 3 incredible shots!!
Loved the image at around 5 minutes. It had an ancient, and somewhat inhospitable atmosphere to it, as if civilization was an unreachable time and distance away. And the final one where you caught the raindrops dancing on the water was wonderful. We're having some rain in Googong ( - yes, that's a real town!) over the next few days, so there's an opportunity for me to try something new.
Henry Turner! That first shot is absolutely spot on. Instant banger mate. Keep up your ever so inspiring out in the field photography adventures, they keep me and a lot of people with me going! Stay cool!
Amazing picture at 11 minutes...great composition...I am reading your e Book on that topic!Learning a lot thanks to you!...and FYI...I read it with the sound of your voice in my brain lol
Nice video. I took my D750 out for a shoot in the rain a couple weeks back; sadly it decided it didn’t want to play anymore. It took three days to dry out before it would turn on again! I do love to shoot the weather, but it has knocked my confidence in the weather sealing. Gorgeous final shot there.
That last shot was cracking, really surprised how well you were able to freeze the motion of the rain drops and ripples. Good call at F5 as my natural reflex would have been to do the usual F11/13 etc and blend the motion together.
Henry, excellent presentation about how to utilize the modern features of digital cameras to put your vision of an image into reality. Coming from film for decades to using digital has been a challenge, but the features like focus shifting (stacking) as well as live view makes up for what I miss about film. You did an excellent job of presenting the "mechanics" of how to visualize, compose and use the features of digital to capture and present your fine image. Just starting to use stacking and viewing your successful experience helps a lot. Thank you.
Hi Henry, just been watching soem of your videos on the D7200, i have a d5200 and thinking of swapping up, would you say the 7200 is a better camera and still worth buying used today, cheers phil
Yet another brilliant video what a location and you yet again proved there is no such thing as bad weather for photography ! For myself the 3shot Pano at 11.05 is special !! (fairplay Pete) I hope you had dry socks in the blue jay 😀
I've been subscribed for a couple of years now Henry and just have to say how much I enjoy your channel. Your enthusiasm for the great outdoors and landscape photography is is inspiring. I do feel anxious though when I see your kit getting wet in the rain 😲I know it's all weather sealed, but dang man, get a rain cover! my nerves are raw. . . 😨😱
I go out, all weathers, try to take some photos. I'm often told I'm actually nuts. To see you, out in the grey and drizzle, often persisting down, to say that it's "absolutely gorgeous" tells me that I'm not the only nutter out and about. Yet another great video, thanks for always sharing and teaching.
Excellent one. Actually I like the way you talk/explain your flow of thoughts. I have question to ask, i have siny @6400, its said its weather sealed... I am watching your camera all wet... Would you think sony i have is good enough to survive some rain like you had? (lense is sigma 16mm contemporary, also weather sealed)
Enjoyable video Henry and beautiful photography and location! Loved the 3 panel shot with the leading line brook pointing to the boat house. My favorite image of the session, but not forgetting the other shots either. Stellar work man!
Henry, I echo everyone's appreciation of this wonderful composition. I'm glad you revisited last week's location...and as I mentioned before, last week's "babbling" video was refreshing and informative.👍 In my opinion, last week's and this week's videos produced a worthwhile "mini-series" that worked together well. So thanks, mate. 👌
Hi Henry Mint mate and to do that last photo in portrait just brilliant. Oh mist you last nite there I was sat with me beer but yes sat with a beer tonight to. Spot on.
there are not many photographers that would love to be out and about in the pi**ing rain, me included! Whatever floats your boat and if those are the conditions that you are most creative in then hey who am I to argue! Really looking forward to my wee holiday to Helvellyn starting Monday. Loving your images and the way that you compose them. Thank you young Henry
Thank you again for another inspired video Henry. I may not always comment but always watch , oh and like 😊 wonderful images and that last one is just fantastic.
The last composition came out quite well? Always a pleasure to watch your channel which is full of excitement for the work you do and the places you visit. I get a kick out of it and your vibes are contagious? Good Job Henry Turner, keep it up and I hope you get many more viewers on all your channels. Cheers. (Yes looking forward to your videos).
Thanks Henry. You are always so enthusiastic even in the pouring rain. It did make for some stunning images. Your technical ability is way above what I can understand but very interesting. I loved the close up video of the Herdwick. It would have made a lovely shot.
I took a fairly relaxed approach recently when out in a rain shower and didn’t cover my 5d mark iv up. Next thing top dial is skipping so put in for repair to find water had got in around the back cover. Looks like £190 plus vat repair. IMHO digital cameras are not even shower proof. Good to see you had a cloth over yours. Stunning focus stack and composition for the last photo. BTW, really enjoyed the e book on composition. Great channel, really look forward to the next.
Do you ever shoot panoramas where foreground elements are so close that the software cannot properly stitch them together due to parallax? I’ve watched a lot of your videos and I don’t think I can recall you ever using a nodal slide to correct for parallax. Just curious. Thanks! Love your videos! ❤
The last image with focus shift is great the raindrops really do make it. On this day Henry did you just take the one lens as it really did the business.
Love the first and last shots, the first one I liked the most, but it's a shame there was a big black bin liner wrapped around the big rock in the foreground of the beck, show that even out there people cannot tidy their rubbish away 😞 Keep up the great work though 🙂
Loved this Henry, some awesome shots...quick question when shooting in rain,do you get greyish streaks in the final image when shooting with small aperture and slow shutter?
Henry, loved the video and the photos (the painterly one in the beginning was my favourite). I wanted to point out one more, recurring theme that focused my attention. You always know the names of the summits, valleys, lakes and even type of sheep! That's really impressive and adds a lot to the feel of the videos making them even more pleasurable to watch. Cheers.
Interestingly, I've never considered a shutter speed for capturing rain drops on water. Thank you for that Henry and I'm sure I'll get enough practical experience coming into winter soon. As ever, love the nattering and another easy video to watch 👌

You're one of the few people who talks sense in photography. I just love your videos especially in the fells.
I'm going to need to watch this again - just got back from the beautiful Lake District National Park
Great stuff “Rain Man” you’ve got your mojo back. Rock On Winter!
Your positivity is infectious! I need to try an steal some of the optimism grom you for my videos. Thank you.
Wow, you struck gold on this trip. Some amazing photos.
I WANT TO BE THERE!!!!!!!!! So amazing. And your photos perfectly capture the emotion
Really digging that last snap of the boat house
The signature gate shot! LOL. I’m loving it, Henry. LOL
Oh wow!! What a great shot at the end shooting at F5, looks like something that would be on the front of a landscape book cover. Superb job Henry!! really cool photos, and the right location to produce special longexposure photos, then I'm waiting for the next content and greetings 📸📸📸
Lovely... I'm a fan of you now 🥰😍, learning from you
That first image looks like a painting, pure art! Beautiful!
Too sad about your breakfast, love your enthusiasm!
Last shot is a belter!
Henry, got to tell you. That 1st shot was bang on! The pastel colors, the depth, the textures created by the land was amazing. The boat house shot is even better than the 1st. Great job Henry! A good day is a cup of coffee and your VLOG to start my day!
Summed it up perfectly... great photos and "a good day is a cup of coffee and your VLOG to start my day!"
I can't anything to that. Spot on!
Thank you Bruce!!
Absolutely love that last shot, super 👍
Last shot Henry 👌🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Three beautiful shots.
Another great video, and marvelous images. Thanks for the journey!
Thank you. All the best. 👍📷😎
As always, thanks for bringing us along!
You are so fun with your little clips with the sheep standing and chewing their grass ..
I laugh every time
That last shot, well worth it.
Always a pleasure watching your fab videos, Henry. And oh yeah, I always learn a thing or two. Cheers!
This is brilliant! You cannot be in a much different place than where I live (the desert SW of the USA) but like you, I'm drawn to the mountains and finding spots where I can see the ranges stack up and fade into the haze. The scale is amazing.

Love that last shot - great idea to freeze the rain drops - adds to the atmosphere
Fished Devoke water for quite a number of years Henry. Now learnig how to photograph it with a mate.
Sitting in wet grass, while being lashed by the rain, and coming home with great shots, I am feeling jealous for sure..
Cheers from Utah! My mind is blown, Henry! I love that stream image. That should absolutely be a print.
Thanks for posting Henry. For various reasons my photography has had to take a back seat for over 6 years. Now I'm retired I'll be able to blow the cobwebs off my gear and get my mojo back!

It really shows that you were much happier this day than last week. Well done!
That last shot!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Here’s my using my Sony A7R4 thinking damn I don’t have focus shift 😂
Weird. We were there last Saturday. It was a beautiful morning and although we were heading home from Eskdale, Devoke Water was too good to miss. Final image was gorgeous 👌

yes quite unusual to shoot in the rain...superb images captured conveying this moody landscape
The first and third shot were great!👍
That last shot
Enjoyed the last 2 shots. Itching to try that technique you love when I come to the lakes in 3 weeks
That last shot was class! 👍🤘
Loved the image at around 5 minutes. It had an ancient, and somewhat inhospitable atmosphere to it, as if civilization was an unreachable time and distance away. I absolutely love those last 2 images! Amazing watching you as always Mate!
Some great info that can be used just about anywhere! I loved the laid back approach! Thanks!
Amazing picture at 11 minutes...great composition...I am reading your e Book on that topic!Learning a lot thanks to you!...and FYI...I read it with the sound of your voice in my brain lol
First video of yours I seen. What a great place and great shots
So much potential for such a small place.
Worth the return trip Henry, well done.
Stay safe 🇦🇺

Something I’ve learned from you…atmosphere. You don’t get that without fog and clouds ⛅️
Fantastic Henry, great watch. Keep up the great work
Many thanks!
Given the weather and pies 🥧 in the bakery I could have been persuaded to take up food photography 😋
Top drawer one again, loved it mate
Video worth waiting for 😃 love the last photo, perfectly captured the atmosphere.
Thanks!!
Hi Henry, photography and Pie, you’re surely living the dream. Thanks for another grand day out, definitely worth the wait!
Good compositions, and nice video ... thanks for sharing !!!
Love the last shot, Henry.
Thanks Clive mate
Great images Henry
Henry is the Guy Martin of photography - in a good way of course!

Great video as always. Your enthusiasm for the subject is infectious. Must pull you up on the spot on the lake (
Cheers Steven. Dust spot had been rectified since 😂👍🏼
what focusing settings do you use ? Matrix, center point etc ? I'm new :)
Super images Henry! I really liked the last one.
Great video with smashing images😁👍
Love the landscape stream photo. Great vid mate.
I thought I was going to have to go into the weekend without a proper dose of inspiration. 👍👍
Haha thanks mate for tuning in 😁😁
Awesome video as always Henry! Loved all the images.
Thanks very much Jim, cheers for watching mate!!
Beautiful pictures. I like the second One The Most.

@@HenryTurnerphoto thats fair 😀😀🍺 i was never confident in shooting while its raining. Too afraid to damage the camera

Another superb video, Henry. Three great images, especially love the composition of the one from Pete’s spot - it is a 🍑!

Awesome

Did anyone else think of Postman Pat with the van shot about 1 min 15 secs in?
Henry, I love your work...thank you. I learn so much from you.❤
Thanks Janet. I appreciate you watching!!
Your last image is exceptional, Henry --- Bravo!
Thank you Warrick I was well happy with that one in the end!!
The last image with focus shift is great the raindrops really do make it. On this day Henry did you just take the one lens as it really did the business.
Thanks Carl. I did have the wide angle as well just incase!

Thanks Alan, really enjoyed this one!!
Interestingly, I've never considered a shutter speed for capturing rain drops on water.
Thank you for that Henry and I'm sure I'll get enough practical experience coming into winter soon.
As ever, love the nattering and another easy video to watch 👌
