    Good review, just sold my 2018 FLFBS 115 Anniversary and have ordered a 2023 120yr Anniversary which I pick up from the dealer this week. I have found them to handle okay they do what I want out of bike these days. I ve had the Ducati's and ZX10R's and other sport bikes I am not out to race every fucker these days. The Fatboy has truck loads of torque and just keeps pulling. The look and the sound of the bike is also an attraction to me, in fact I like all of the softail range.

    Just bought a brand new 2022 Fatboy 4 days ago down here in New Zealand. The bike is fantastic, its in vivid black, love everything about it. Looks great, sounds awsome, its fitted with Vance & Hinds short shots pipes, which gives it the sound I like.

    Im 6 ft 1"..chassis is a little small...cramped some what..seat needs to be pushed back 4- 6 inches..my crotch to close to tank and my kness way to high on tank..chassis needs to be raised 2 -3 inches..so if your over 6 ft you need some serious modifications for this bike to fit you...harley should make two fat boys..one with a larger chassis for us guys 6 - 6'5"...my neighbor came over when i got the bike and the first thing he said was how small it looked....if your 5'6" to 5'11"..this bike first you well..again wish the chassis was higher and seat back further..

    Great review, IR. I traded a 21' Slim for a Black/Blak '22 Fat; she is MY ultimate bike. Your assessment of handling is spot; indeed, the stability provided by the 240 is offset by resistance that one might expect in the 18' plus Softail line....however, comma....the bike will comply with orders. It will obey push at speed, and will handle the Skilled Rider Course with no issue. An amazing ride.

    i really like the color. other than a sportster which to me is another category of bikes, the Fatboy and the Roadking has been my to favorite models. i really like the Pan Am too but that is a ADV so a different category also. which do you feel is better between those 2 ? the Fatboy or the Roadking? maybe a comparison vid on the 2? just an idea. does the Fatboy have cruise control? i heard you can add hard bags to the Fatboy or other soft tails on certain years. does the Fatboy and Roadking handle the same ? low speed ? high speed? weight? im still on the fence as to which i like more and i like to hear others experience. good vid

    Might get a fat boy now,,instead of the breakout,,omg,,,,might get 117 too,,its worth it in the long run,i think,im not happy with new breakouts black tank,,,it should of been kept all black,no stripy lolliepop,badges,,i better test,ride both being 6 foot 3,,living in australia its so hard to get a test ride anywhere,,they expect u to just sit on it and buy it,,its so frustrating

      6'3" is too tall for both the FatBoy and the Breakout, trust me I'm 6'4 and look ridiculous on them. My Sport Glide is the best of the Softails for riders our height by far.

      I'm 6,1 and the stock forward controls were ok on my 2017 BreakOut but I put on 2" forward extensions and it's perfect. If you go 3" extensions or more, you'll have to mess with the ABS and get a longer new rear brake line.

    Do you have to enter a corner a lot more slowly than other Harleys due to the fat 240 mm rear tires, or can you enter corners as quickly as, let's say, a Spordster?

    • @RiorXD
      @RiorXD Год назад +1

      the counter steering is totally different there is a certain range of speed where the bike will just always want to strand up so you have to actually lean not just steer or counter steer but other then that you can enter the turns the same speed no problem.

      Rode one today and a heritage. Fat boys feels better to me in every way. For me it turns effortlessly and handles great. It’s a nice big bike for a tall guy. Coming from a wide glide the heritage turns too easy and requires correction.

    Put 14in meathooks, Blow exhaust , wide open , Arlen monster suker intake, loose 20 lbs,, power vision, tuner,, then when the shit 240 weres out 5000 miles, put a 250 Dunlop on, lot cheaper,, , get apes, throw it , and conter steer, rear tire will drift, , fun shit,,

    I tuned in for 15 secs. and knew this review was bias and not realistic. I own this bike and can tell everyone that this bike is the worst handling bike I've ever ridden. Looks Cool in my opinion.
    Also, this guy is perpetuating the old wife's tale that the solid wheels create a crosswind issue which has been debunked years ago.

    • @SpeedwayHarleyDavidson
      @SpeedwayHarleyDavidson  Год назад +1

      This review is not biased. I personally onw multiple motorcycles and multiple types of motorcycles. The bike handles as well as the rider is comfortable. It's all about riding experience and not all riders have the same riding experience or are as advanced as others. As far as the solid wheels i own a vrod that had solid wheels which did affect the ride some with strong crosswinds and after swapping them to slotted wheels there is no longer any affects from strong crosswinds.

    Too bad Harley persists in putting the gage cluster on the tank. That is so idiotic it is hard to believe. Nothing like needing to look down and taking your eyes off the road to read mph or rpm. Jerks!

    Debating between this and low rider s. I know the s will out perform this bike and is better in corners, but this probably more comfortable. I'm not worried about being able to muscle it around corners. However my concern in the lean angle on paper is terrible and I'm worried I'll rip those floor boards right off (over exaggerating of course) but I do live in the mountains and like carving canyons. How was the lean angle while riding? Scrape floor boards a lot?
